Touch screen non responsive, can't answer calls.

when my phone goes into sleep mode with non activity, I receive a call but cannot answer it because touch screen won't respond, no button is responsive, I have to reboot the phone. What is this issue?

That's got to be quite annoying! Is this a brand new issue or one that has been going on for a while? Did any specific event - such as a new app installation, software update, or physical/liquid damage - prompt this issue to start?

What troubleshooting have you tried? User steps include restart, powering the device off/on, then a reset, holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. Touch screen doesnt response anymore.

So, my phone did get bricked by some extras-devel software, I had to re-flash it (OS and EMMC). Now after flashing touch screen doesnt response anymore. If tried to flash it again (OS and EMMC) without luck, still it doesnt response to anything. Can't get past the settings menu. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to send it to Nokia Care?

hmm. wierd.
so your have a device that is at factory specs now, with absolutely no software on it with exception to the OS, and your touch still does not work?
if it were me, i would crack the phone and make sure that the flex-cable is attached, and if it wasn't, i would connect it and try again. ....
however, if it was connected and didnt work, or you are not comfortable doing that, then i would take it to a nokia service center for repair. IF you are in the USA, then that would mean going online to this site, http://www.nokiausa.com/get-support-and-software/repair-and-recycle/repair/repair-locator and then put your imei in and get a print screen of the warranty information and then finish the rest of the questions online until you get the confirmation page that you mail in with your phone.
if the website doesnt work, as it had problems when i was trying to do it, then call in to their customer service number @ 1-888-665-4228 and they will help you over the phone with the same thing.
if you have to mail it in, be sure you take out your battery, sim card, stylus, battery cover, memory card. (you will not get them back)

Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start. Usually takes about 10 seconds. Just keep holding both buttons.

That's very frustrating to have a non responsive touch screen. Have you removed the battery and retested? Did this start after a application was downloaded? Please back up your information on the device thru Google and then master reset the device. Click here for reset instructions. Touch Screen Un-Responsive

Problem: Touch Screen not fully responsive at all times.
I broke one screen trying to answer calls before the ring sequence timed out.
After missing 7 calls over a few hour time span, I tried harder and harder presses on the screen.
Lesson learned - take it back anytime it hiccups. The phone was 5 to 6 weeks old.....
That phone was sent off for out-of-warranty repair.
The replacement (luckily I had a line up for upgrade) has the same problem, but not as severe.
The problem seems to be worse under high humidity weather conditions.
Problem: Repaired Phone now unable to be brought out of standby
The original arrived back from repair.
The screen was replaced, and the LCD was reported to be damaged in shipping, so it was also replaced.
The phone now will not wake from standby, under any circumstances. You have to remove the battery and restart.
I have the screen timeout set for 30 minutes. At least it lets me do some things via WiFi.
I have done a Full Reset, format SD Card and format Phone Storage.
I have also done a complete firmware reload.
Anyone have any ideas?

Yuy can try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restor to factory defaults/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that points to a problem like bad digitizer. Apple will exchange your iPod for $99, $149 or $199 depending upn the capacity.
A third-party place may be less expensive. Google for more places.

Malfunctioning started 5-6 months after purchase.
At first few times no any possibility to answer a call - sliding on screen when keys locked or touching answer screen button, or green button after display/key unlock did not worked.
Only possibility to talk with caller - call back immediately (it works) an excuse for that problem.
Lately phone started to reboot after ending calls or after (or while) using as internet connection modem. Or sometimes rebooted by itself just standing by on table...
Sometimes keyboard does not work, working only screen.
Then become next problem - or touch-screen does not respond or respond awkward or totally different as should.
Then touch-screen malfunction together with keyboard not functioning.
After a month spent at sellers repair first 3 days - everything worked as should. I started to believe - problems gone, but that happiness was only for three days..
Question - is this model is most buggy faulty or so? Nearly 400 EUR for top series N class disaster is quite a big money... How nokia thinks to solve this problem? As I understood I'm not the one and only with that big list of problems for 400 EUR...

Yesterday evening I gave back my faulty item to repair center. They said that, previously service center most likely couldn't find the cause of problem and just renewed the firmware.
Strangely - Yesterday morning talk with Nokia Customer care center figured out, that there were NO ANY registered repair or update action made by authorized service (and must be registered). May be nothing was done or service center is not so "official".
Thank Good, yesterday the phone showed up the malfunction and guy said - most likely it is resistive touch sensor problem that should be replaced, because it after some time wears out or is tended to bend or so - so it becomes malfunctioning and should be replaced...
Strange - if the phone costs ~400 EUR the touch-screen sensor should be more wear-tear, bend or any problem resistant to average phone use conditions. To face this problem every 3 to 9 months - doesn't seams to be fair offer for that price...

Can not answer calls 8/10 times

Hi,
I am Running Win 8.1 and have a secondary account also (skype). When people call me i can not answer or decline. i have version 6.20.0.104. The person calling says that the call connects his side but can not hear anything. I call back and i have the dialing screen without ringing untill the call times out.
I have tried with only 1 account open but it makes no difference.
I call back the third time or they call me and i can answer no problem but 8/10 times this happens with the 2/10 being answered first time.
I hope someone has some advice as its a real pain now.

I have this same problem... had couple of my staff of network engineers trying to resolve this over the course of several days... cleared all and anything to do with skype from my hard drive... program, registers, cache, hidden folder stuff, defrag, etc... and it appeared fixed... but after about a week this same crap started again... no matter how many times i press the answer button it won't answer... until the caller hangs up and calls again... many times I have to engage control alt delete just to get the Skype ringer to shut off... funny that we don't seem to get any response from Microsoft on this issue... there was some critiptic funky stuff buried deep in some text strings we followed Microsoft's instructions on about 6 month ago, but did not work either... ever since Microsoft got their hands on Skype, its realiability has gone down (at least for our company)... too bad such a formerly great company is eroding so quickly.

It happened again!!! The iPhone 5 slide screen function is non responsive. Last time i waited for the battery to run down (luckily is was almost dead) for me to restart it and it was responsive again. How do i restart this device if i can't use the shut down slide option? Please help.

It sounds like you want to know how to restart the phone if you cannot Slide to Power off when prompted. You can reset the device with this process if that happens again:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

my i phone 3gs has some sort of problem with the touch screen at the below part i can slide to open but i cant press anything at that area how to fix?

Try this:
PRESS AND HOLD VOLUME UP + Home Button + Power
Turn the phone off
Press and hold Volume UP and Home (center) button
Press Power until the phone vibrates
Wait until you see the Android logo then release all the buttons
Select Wipe data/Factory reset with VOLUME DOWN, press Power (right hand-side)
Select YES...delete all user data with VOLUME DOWN and then Press Power
After format, press Power again to reboot the phone (select reboot system now)
If you are still unsure you should call VZW tech support.
