Touchpad bottom buttons stopped working

hi!
something strange happend to my laptop (ThinkPad T520), yesterday bottom buttons of touchpad just stopped working... upper buttoms seems to work fine, except for one thing, in Ubuntu sometimes they don't work too and I noticed that turning off and on the touchpad helps. In Windows upper buttoms seem to work fine, but bottom buttons still do not work.
since bottom buttons issue relates to both OSs I have it looks to be something with laptop itself, I had no problems with touchpad or keyboard for 1.5 years of using it (I even reinstalled Ubuntu yesterday, I thought something happened to my system, but it didn't help, still the same issues, and still I have to turn on/off sometimes...)
My OSs:
1) Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
2) Windows 7
I did not update anything during last few days, and actually I use Windows only to check something (so rare enough), so I'm sure I was not updating anything by myself there. Although I can't say that anything was updated automatically, and I could just miss that it happened.
Unfortunately for me I am in the business trip, I am limited to what I can do about it, as well as feel uncomfortable to work with my laptop now (I got used to use my bottom buttoms with touchpad...). Is here anything I could do about it on my own without any risk to damage anything?

actually I was wrong regards Windows, touchpad works strange there, by default pressing anything (except for bottom buttons, they do not work at all, as I wrote) opns a popup menu. I've applied all important and advised updated from Lenovo, also I've updated my bios to the last available version (I believe 1.42). Nothing changed, turning touchpad on/off, even in bios, does not change anything there. Using UltraNav (also installed the last available) I turned of extra functionality for touchpad buttons, and now at least upper buttons works in expected way, presing touchpad also do not show popup anymore.
after bios updating, in Ubuntu no visible changes: upper buttons function as before, touchpad itself works well, bottom buttons do not work at all. Lokks like I can't do anything about it

I was not sure if this is actually a Desktop Environment or Hardware problem, but since it's hardware related I will post it here.
The problem:
On my touchpad (on Acer Aspire 5610Z) I have scroll button for up/down/left/right and until a recent update the scroll buttons need to be clicked repeatably in order to scroll. Before the upgrade and the way I'm expecting to behave is that when I click and hold a button - it should repeat the scroll (I hope you are able to understand it). So basically my problem is that to scroll with the scroll-buttons I have to click it numerous times in order to scroll, instead of just holding the button pressed.
At the same time all other features like two-finger scrolling, gestures etc. are working, but I'm not used to scroll with two fingers and would like to have my scroll-buttons working.

I'm afraid the problem is in driver.
I compared sources of input-synaptics 1.6.3 and 1.7.0 and it seems that author has cut off the functionality of "repeating" scrollbuttons

My home button stopped working ....any ideas on how to fix??

I've had my Ipad 2 for less than a week and all of a sudden the home button stopped working. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it or should I try to bring back for a replacement?

See if you can do any of these - but you need the home button to try the first one - or you must have multitasking gestures enabled on the iPad in order to try the second one.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit all apps and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If you have multitasking gestures turned on - you can swipe up from the bottom of the screen with four fingers to get to the recents tray.

X1 Carbon touchpad and trackpad stops working.

Received my new X1 Carbon 2014 this week. After only two minutes of use, the trackpad and toucphpad stopped working.
I hade to use an external mouse, and even after all driver updates it still didn`t work.
If I restart the machine, sometimes the track-touchpad will work, but suddenly it freezes up again (after only minutes of use), and I will have to restart to fix the problem. Have used it for 5 hrs now, and how probably restarted about 30-40 times.
Anyone know what is causing this problem and/or how I can fix it?

Bought my X1 carbon 20A7 last month.
The touchpad and trackpoint stop working after a while. Sometimes after minutes of use, sometimes after half an hour. When I close the lid, to let it go to sleep, and wake it up again they both work again. Another interesting (might be a coincedance) issue is that when I wake the laptop up after this has ocurred, the fingerprint reader does not work to log back on.
I have done a fresh install of windows 8.1 and updated all windows and Lenovo drivers.
I hope this gets solved quickly. It's kind of ridiculous for such a premium laptop.

My middle "Home" button stops working at least once a day! Can I get a replacment?

I got my iPhone in October of 2010 and for the past 2 months witch it is now June 2011, my middle button stops working for up to 2 hours sometimes and it happens EVERYDAY! It's very annoying and also another problem whenever I recive or am calling someone it makes this horrible buzzing noise and it makes it hard to hear the person(s). I want a replacment because this is annoying and stressfull. Is there anyway I can get a new phone...? Please help!!!

The basic warranty is for 90 days. If you purchased AppleCare for your phone at the time you bought the phone, that's good for 2 years.
In either case, call your local Apple Store and make an appointment to take the phone in for a repair. If there's something wrong with it, they'll fix it. You won't pay anything if you purchased the AppleCare. If you're lucky to get an Apple Store employee who is in a good mood, you won't pay even if your phone is not covered by a current warranty.

It sounds like your phone is not successfully booting even though you have reset the device. I would next recommend attempting a backup and restore to iTunes with this article:

If you are unable to restore with iTunes I would next put the device into recovery mode, and attempt the restore again:

I dropped my Iphone in water and the on/off button stopped working, how do I fix it?

I dropped my phone in some water and it was only in there for about two or three seconds. I grabbed it and dried it straight away and made sure to get in all of it, and it was fine, everything worked. But about an hour after the on/off button stopped working, so i have to use the home button to unlock it and have to wait for the screen to turn off after 1 minute of leaving it. I cant turn it off and dont know how to fix it. Will it go away on its own, do I have to send it off to get fixed? This literally happened like two hours ago, and my phone is a bit more than a year old. Can anyone help me?

Make an app;ointment at the genius bar and take your credit card. You can get an out of warrnty replacement for an iPhone 4 for $149.
If you had just done it, the advice would have been to shut it off and put it in a bowl or bag of uncooked rice or silica gel for a week. Unfortunately, since it's been powered on for several hours, since then, it may have been permanently damaged. You can try the rice trick, but be prepared to pay for a replacement at some point down the road.

Ipods automatically have a one year warrany unless you have violated the terms. But you can pay to extend the warranty. It depends, they may fix it for free or they may charge a bit. Im not entirely sure. But id say theres a good chance that they may fix it for free. With battery replacements, ive heard that they give you an entirely new ipod with a charge of $80. So i think it depends

My top button stopped working, the physical button is broken. Apple genius' stated they will not fix my phone because there are signs of moisture in my phone. What does that have to do with my broken button, and why can't my phone functioning the way it is supposed to due to an issue that is not my fault?

wow i dont know who you are getting your phone "fixed" through but its not apple.
Apple does not charge prices like that.
If you got it 1 year ago in september, the hardware warranty has expired by now unless you had your device covered by applecare insurance.
and if it WERE covered by limited hardware warranty, an obvious hardware issue like the power button not working is covered under the warranty UNLESS it was due to accidental damage.
So if you paid 198 dollars, chances are its because you dropped your phone and thats why the button was not working,.
..and even then, the iphone 4 out of warranty/accidental damage replacement fee is 149. not 198.

If you're not feeling any clicking action when you push on it, I would get the button/switch replaced.

Dv6-1240us quick launch buttons stopped working

Hi,
I have dv6-1240us notebook pc. After installing some of the updates quick lauch buttons stopped working on my notebook. Nothing happens when I touch the volume control/mute button.
Does anyone has idea how to resolve this problem.

Same thing with my dv6, just the audio button.. wireless is ok. chatted with HP they said hard-reset it, update the driver, update bios. nothing worked.

Very simple take it to an Apple Store or AASP and have it professionally diagnosed. Anything else would be guessing. Do NOT spend a penny on it until it is professionaly diagnosed otherwise you stand and excellent chance of throwing good money after bad.
