  • Tracking sales, customer retention and Inventory management

    Hi,
I own a t-shirt screen printing business and am looking for a solution to help me track sales, categorize customer information and manage inventory. I'm still relatively new to numbers 09 so I'm trying to determine if this program can help me achieve my desired end result.
I conduct two different types of business; wholesale printing and online sales.
I offer wholesale printing for local companies such as pizza shops, churches, family events etc. They typically have a design prepared and order 50+ t-shirts at a wholesale price. Pricing is determined by a lot of different factors such as; amount of t-shirts ordered, number of colors in print, number of print locations.
Online sales, refers to a line of t-shirts I created myself and sell directly to customers. I sell through multiple online mediums such as; etsy, ebay and my dot.com. Each of the sites I sell through has a different set of fees associated with the transaction. For example, when selling through etsy; for each transaction etsy takes a % of the sale, plus a predefined insertion fee for posting the listing. When a customer is making a purchase through etsy they have two payment options; etsy's direct check out, or to pay with paypal. When the customer opts to pay through etsy's direct check out; there is a % fee etsy charges, as well as a predefined processing fee (in addition to the original % fee and insertion fee I mentioned above). If a customer through etsy opts to pay with paypal while checking out, then there is a different % fee as well as processing fee that paypal will charge. Also, both etsy's and paypals checkout methods charge a different % fee and processing fee if the package is being shipped to an international destination. Ebay's fee structure is similar to etsy ie; a % fee and insertion fee, as well as a seperate % fee and processing fee that paypal charges.
Wholesale printing only makes up about 10% of my business so I can pretty easily track those sales as is. Retail sales makes up the other 90% of my business and has become difficult to manage.
Etsy, ebay and paypal all keep transaction details that can be downloaded in csv files. In the past I have found it difficult to organize all that information and make sense out of it because its coming from multiple sources. I'd like to have one program to track all my online sales and customer information and present in in a nice neat fashion.
That's where a program like numbers 09 comes into play, hopefully. To keep track of blank inventory I would like to organize and keep track of all the different blanks shirts i have in stock. Say for example I print on a blank gildan brand shirt that is called GL2000, I would like to have a category for the GL2000 as well as a sub category for the different colors of that shirt I have (blue, black, brown, green etc.), as well as another sub category for the different sizes (small-5xl) available in each of the different colors. I would like to have a separate spreadsheet listing all the finished goods (printed shirts), along with the sizes available for that design on hand. Then, when I print new shirts and enter them into the finished goods spreadsheet, I would like it to subtract that amount from the corresponding blank shirt spreadsheet. For example; I have some designs I print on brown shirts and I would need to create a formula that knows that that particular design is on a brown shirt and not green or some other color. That way as I print more shirts I will have a running inventory of both finished goods as well as what I still have left in stock as blank shirts.
Then I'd like a spreadsheet for me to enter in all the relevant sales data as it comes in. I was envisioning entering the data into that spreadsheed right as I'm shipping out the order. It makes perfect sense because all the information I'd like to track and organize is readily available on the screen when I am creating the shipping label. I would like the spreadsheet to keep track of; Sale date, ship date, item sold, item size, buyer id, transaction id, first name, last name, address, city, state, zip, country, price, coupon (if used), shipping, total (price + shipping), how much the shipping label cost, site item was sold on (ebay or etsy), etsy fee if sold on etsy (% of price + predefined insertion fee), ebay fee if sold on ebay (% of price + predefined insertion fee), refund (if applicable... also if a refund is issued, it would have to automatically adjust the total as well as fee, after entered), sales tax (would only apply if they entered the sate I do business out of in the state column), ebay processing fee, (for etsy transactions) a checkbox to inform the spreadsheet if the etsy transaction was paid through paypal or direct etsy check out (because of the different fees associated with each.) then a corresponding cell with the correct processing fee, it would also have to take into account which country the item was being shipped to and apply the correct fee associated with that country for either of the check out methods; etsy or paypal, then a total after all fees, then possibly a total of all fees paid.
Like I mentioned before, I'm relatively new to numbers 09. I have made some progress in creating the spreadsheets but feel there is a steep learning curve when defining some of the formulas and functions of the program. I'm still not sure if numbers 09 will be able to do all that I need it to do in the end, so I wanted to ask if it is possible before I continue working on it.
Any help would be appreciated. Are there any books I could study to learn the program better? I just picked the apple pro training series for iwork 09 but found the numbers section was mainly for beginners and didn't go over some of the more complex functions I'd like to learn about. I searched for other training material but couldn't find any.
If numbers 09 isn't a suitable program for what I'm trying to accomplish, any suggestions on what program to use? I've looked in to quick books but wasn't sure If I could do something similar with numbers. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Thanks a lot Mahesh for your reply. I just tried your answer: I've assigned the CRM Service User license to the user, on top of the CRM Sales user license. But still same problem.
Can you let me know where you can view the exact license chart? The link I have posted above seems a bit outdated as it does not reflect the actual license limitations.

  • Sales Opportunities and Follow Up Activities

    Hi Experts.
We have a customer who uses Sales Opportunities and Activities extensively.
What they are finding is that when they create a follow up Activity from an Activity linked to a Sales Opportunity, the fields Source Object Type and Source Object No. are not always populated with Sales Opportunity and the Sales Opportunity number.  This data is showing on the original Activity.
Also, when you access Related Activities from the Sales Opportunity, the follow up Activity is not always show.
I would like to be able to send you some screen dumps of this.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for you time.
    Julie Coppins

What is your B1 version and PL?  It is probably a bug due to less demand to this function. Log a message to support team anyway to get their official answer.
    Thanks,

  • Multiple Issues for Fiori Track Sales Order App

    Hello,
We're experiencing quite a few issues with the Fiori Track Sales Order App and were wondering if anyone else out there had experienced anything similar and if they were able to resolve these issues.  Unfortunately, there are hardly any notes out there for the Track Orders app, so we aren't able to implement any existing fixes
1.) As mentioned in a previous post (link below), contact information is not showing in the app, even though the service is returning these contacts and they're displayed in the console.  We've had an incident open with SAP for quite some time but have yet to hear back.
Track Sales Order Fiori App - Not Displaying Contacts
2.) If the user is in the app while a delivery is created, choosing the refresh option just refreshes the overall status of the order.  The item statuses are not updated.  User has to exit the app and re-enter for changes to take effect for the items.
3.) Searching by PO Number is not working.
4.) Searching for orders in the search period only works if there is an order in the parameter maintained for the order period.  If a customer does not have any orders in the order period but does have orders in the search period maintained, orders are not found when executing a search on the server.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We're on the following service packs:
    SAPK-60003INSRA018
    SAPK-10003INUISRA018

    Hi Erin,
Just FYI. This does not solve your issue but,
I see you use old UI components which were released in May 2013.
Important Note: Please use new UI with new SAP Fiori Launchpad
New UI components have UI extension points and work with new SAP Fiori Launchpad.
Please find correct components based on your Backend version.

  • Issues with Sales Opportunities

    Hello again!
Sorry to be a pest!  I'm trying to put WebTools 2007 (628) through it's paces prior to training some of our staff in it's use for CRM purposes, and I've hit a few more snags, these in particular are related to Sales Opportunities.
    1.  Hitting the Refresh Button (F5) on Stages tab after adding a Stage duplicates that stage and can be repeated multiple times.  In theory this creates stages that would not be possible in B1.  This would also create a Synching issue because B1 wouldn't allow the overlapping stages.
    2.  "Associated Document Number" does not link  to correct the sales document.  For example a sales order in WT is totally a different BP, although it does appear correctly in B1.  I know in the OPPR1 Table there is a docid (docentry) and docnum column, perhaps WT is synching on the wrong one, thus linking the wrong document.
    3.  Adding stages appear not to be Synching back to B1.  The following error message occurs.  Since the Close Date is not an exposed field in  WT, there is no ability to go back to alter the close date of the prior stage before creating a new stage.  Because of this there is no way to prevent the following Error:
    -5002:Date deviates from permissible range  [OPR1.OpenDate][line: 1]
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.WebToolsChildObjects.OpportunityStage.NetPointToSBO(NPQueueObject qData)
       at NetPoint.SynchSBO.SynchObjectBase.Synch()
    4.  Adding/Deleting Stages which have a sales amount does not update the "Total Sale" Amount in the heard record as it would the Potential Amount on the B1 side.
    5.  Column headings are incorrect under Sales opportunity --> Stages.  It shows "sale sPerson" and "Tota lSale" and each column is shifted over by one because the date column heading appears to be missing.
    Thanks,
    Jason Walters

Just checking to see if anyone has re-produced any of these issues...
    Thanks!

    The Reason of the error:
"CServiceData::VerifyPropertyWrite failed: Property 'SequentialNo' of 'SalesOpportunities' is read onlyoSalesOpportunities"
Do you have any idea what may be wrong?

    Dear Martin Kamau,
By SDK help, the Source table of SalesOpportunities Object is OOPR, and SalesOpportunitiesLines is OPR1.
In B1 application Sales Opportunity form, you could check which field need to set for OOPR and OPR1, you could refer to SDK help file also.

  • Tracking sales and creating receipts

My home business needs to track sales and print receipts for customers. Can Numbers do that? If yes, how do I set it up? If not, what's a good alternative?

Numbers can do that. How to set it up is too broad a question for this forum because it would take a booklet to describe it and the set up would be different for every business. Basically you'd need a table to list the sales and separate tables for the invoices. (If Page could merge Numbers data, it would be a lot easier.) You might also need separate tables for each customer, it all depends on what your invoices cover.
There is an invoice template built-in to Numbers if you look. (Do you have the program or the 30-day trial? If not, get it.)
Go to iworkcommunity.com to find some invoice templates or go to the Microsoft Excel website and borrow some excel invoices.
Try Filemaker's Bento for a database solution, but you'll need Leopard to use it.
Try a program devoted to invoicing, like MYOB Accounting. If you go to the Downloads section of the Apple website and search for 'invoice' you'll find other programs.
    good luck

  • Sales Opportunities

    Hi
In one of client's company there are a few number of sales employees. And they handle diffrent products. After they capture the leads in sales opportunities, the sales employees from other product division should not access their opportunities. Is there a way to do this?
    Regards
    Louis

    Hi Louis,
Data ownership is the option for you out of B1 box.  However, you may find this function not good enough for you to completely block some other non-authorized users to view certain documents.
Try them first, if you are not satisfied with the result, you have to go through SDK or add-on to get what you want exactly.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Sales Opportunities and Activities Import

We need to import the attached into SAP as Sales Opportunities and related Activities.
I believe the mappings are roughly as follows:
    Opportunities
    Source     Destination
    SalesCode     OOPR.CardCode
    Createdate     OOPR.StartDate
    Description     OOPR.OpportunityName
    Opportunity_Value     OPR1.MaxLocalTotal
    Acct. Manager     OOPR.SalesPerson (id lookup)
    Activities
    Source     Destination
    Contact Name     OCLG.ContactPer
    SalesCode     OCLG.CardCode
    Description     OCLG.CntctSbjct
    Call Back Date     OCLG. CntctDate
What I canu2019t see is how to link the activity to an opportunity.
NB: Where there isnu2019t a contact name and call back date, there is no activity to be created.
    Regards,
    Juan

    Hi Juan,
To link Sales Opportunities with Activities, you need to assign OCLG.parentType = 97 and OCLG.parentID=OOPR.OpprId
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Can BC tie into a POS System (Micros or Aloha) to track sales, employee performance etc.

Just wondering if anyone else has been asked this question or knows the answer.
"Can BC tie into a POS System (Micros or Aloha) to track sales, employee performance etc."

While you're waiting on an answer from the community I'd like to share the link with you that will give you an idea of what's possible to integrate. This is the list of all BC web services - https://worldsecuresystems.com/catalystwebservice/catalystcrmwebservice.asmx
Anything you are able to obtain through those services can be integrated. I don't see how employee performance can be integrated.

  • Rights to modify sales employee on sales opportunities

Is there a way on sales opportunities to prevent users changing the sales employee field?
"Change sales employee" in  general authorizations is working only for documents, but not for sales opportunities.
May it be done for example with a stored procedure comparing the actual and the previous value of the field before an update?

You may post it here in order to become a candidate for next B1 version:

  • Sales opportunities (source) -- sales report (sales analysis) link, help!

    Hello,
Should be a simple quetion but I just can't work it out, please help!
On our sales opportunities we record the source. Ie where we advertised to get that opp through the door.
On Sales Reports>Sales Analysis I can see the totals for the month and the gross profit.
What I'm trying to do is map the totals for the month and gross profit against the source. Ie to see which sources make us the money that keeps us going as a company
But I can't seem to find the links anywhere to do a custom query.
    Can anyone help?
    many thanks

    Hi.......
You can get this link very easily......
    Its there in standard report.
When you punch the Sales Opportunity and conclude the same by attaching the document reference like Sales Quotation or Sales Order or any sales Doc. After that if your refer any Opportunity report (Sales Opportunity--> Sales Opportunity Reports) then you have to select the document tick. It will give you the document wise opportunity status.
    Hope this will help you.....

    Rahul
