Sales Opportunities and Follow Up Activities

Hi Experts.
We have a customer who uses Sales Opportunities and Activities extensively.
What they are finding is that when they create a follow up Activity from an Activity linked to a Sales Opportunity, the fields Source Object Type and Source Object No. are not always populated with Sales Opportunity and the Sales Opportunity number. This data is showing on the original Activity.
Also, when you access Related Activities from the Sales Opportunity, the follow up Activity is not always show.
I would like to be able to send you some screen dumps of this.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for you time.

What is your B1 version and PL? It is probably a bug due to less demand to this function. Log a message to support team anyway to get their official answer.

• Sales Opportunities and Activities Import

We need to import the attached into SAP as Sales Opportunities and related Activities.
I believe the mappings are roughly as follows:
Opportunities
Source Destination
SalesCode OOPR.CardCode
Createdate OOPR.StartDate
Description OOPR.OpportunityName
Opportunity_Value OPR1.MaxLocalTotal
Acct. Manager OOPR.SalesPerson (id lookup)
Activities
Source Destination
Contact Name OCLG.ContactPer
SalesCode OCLG.CardCode
Description OCLG.CntctSbjct
Call Back Date OCLG. CntctDate
What I canu2019t see is how to link the activity to an opportunity.
NB: Where there isnu2019t a contact name and call back date, there is no activity to be created.
Regards,
Juan

Hi Juan,
To link Sales Opportunities with Activities, you need to assign OCLG.parentType = 97 and OCLG.parentID=OOPR.OpprId

• Consumption Indicator "V" and follow-on activities

Hi,
We are considering using Consumption Posting Indicator = V for sales orders due to a technical issue we have passing data from CRM to ECC.
I am not sure what V is used for normally and what unwanted processes it may trigger. Using V, I have been able to run SO's through VL01N GI and 3rd party SO's through procurement with no apparent problems so my quesiton is:
1. What is V normally used for
2. What issues can I expect creating SO's as V and then doing normal PR/PO activities against these SO's
Thanks in advance!

• Follow-up Activities from Leads/Opportunities

HI,
We have configured the follow-up Activities from Leads/Opportunities in CRM. We created a standalone PCUI BSP iView for Activities and assigned ACTIVITYCRM object type to our Role.
Leads to follow-up Opportunities is working but from Leads/Opportunities to follow-up Activities is NOT working. Standalone Activities is working though directly from the menu.
Any input/thought will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jas

Please check the follow the below points.
1. SPRO -> CRM -> Layout of user Interface -> Navigation (URL generation) -> Assign Object Method to Role. (Check your role and object with Portal Role)
2. Add "CRM_URL_BUFFER_OFF" = "X" Parameter in SU01 for the user.
3. If you assigned many roles to the user in CRM check the Priority.
I hope it will work.

It doesn't surprise me as you are not mentioning the schema name here. Instead it should be

Assuming the schema owner is SAPSR3. if the owner is different then replace that with the correct one.

• Numbering Series for Sales Opportunities Documents

Hi
Is it possible to use a different series for different sales opportunities documents ?
I checked the document numbering window but I did not find any provision for that.
thanks
SV Reddy

Hi All, thanks for the replies,
In response to Suda's statement:
The scenario is like this, the client involved in different activities selling software, providing corporate training, implementing SAP projects etc. So these departments have their own sales, presales and marketing teams working for generating the business. Whenever they contact a new prospect, customer or client all the activities are need to be recorded in single SAP B1 system. So these sales guys want to use a different numbering series with prefixes resembling their department name followed by a number generated by the SAP B1 system. Any suggestions Please.
Thanks

• Follow-up Activities for ERP Order (ERP_H)

Hello,
is it possible to create follow-up activities for documents which are in ERP (not CRM).
For example for the quotations and sales orders which are visible in CRM using component ERP_H?
Is anybody using such a scenario of CRM activities for ERP quotations / orders?
Thanks a lot
best regards
Manfred

Hi Manfred,
It is possible to create follow-up activities for documents which are in ERP (not CRM) like the ERP Sales Order as a Standard functionality, meaning the Activities in CRM can be created as a follow up document to ERP sales order.
Assign the Channel Interaction Center WebClient to the transaction type (Activities) in SPRO and you will see the follow up activity to the ERP Sales order
Is anybody using such a scenario of CRM activities for ERP quotations / orders?
--> We have a scenario to create an activity from ERP order. I assigned the channel as mentioned above and I can see the follow up activity to ERP sales Order.
Hope this helps.

Chandrakant

• Difference between Delivery, Sales order and Shipment

Hi
I would like to know difference between sales document, delivery document and shipment.
When is the delivery created? What data will it have?

Hi
Sales Documents
Sales-related business transactions are recorded in the system as sales documents. These are grouped into four categories:
Pre-sales documents: inquiries and quotations
Sales orders
Outline agreements, such as contracts and scheduling agreements
Customer problems and complaints, leading to free-of-charge deliveries and credit memo requests
If your particular business processes require it, you can process deliveries and billing documents directly from a sales document. In addition, some sales documents, such as cash sales and rush orders automatically trigger the creation of subsequent delivery and billing documents.
Basic Functions Within Sales Order Processing
During sales order processing, the system carries out basic functions, such as:
Monitoring sales transactions
Checking for availability
Transferring requirements to materials planning (MRP)
Delivery scheduling
Calculating pricing and taxes
Checking credit limits
Creating printed or electronically transmitted documents (confirmations and so on)
Delivery Processing
In its role as central object of the goods issue process, the outbound delivery supports all shipping activities including picking, packing, transportation and goods issue. During the outbound delivery process, shipping-planning information is recorded, status of shipping activities is monitored and data accumulated during shipping processing is documented. When the outbound delivery is created, the shipping activities, such as picking or delivery scheduling, are initiated, and data that is generated during shipping processing is included in the delivery.
Range of Functions
An outbound delivery can be created as follows:
With reference to a sales order
With reference to a stock transport order
With reference to a subcontract order
Shipping
Shipping is an important part of the logistics chain in which guaranteed customer service and distribution planning support play major roles.
In shipping processing, all delivery procedure decisions can be made at the start of the process by
Taking into account general business agreements with your customer
Recording special material requests
Defining shipping conditions in the sales order
The result is an efficient and largely automatic shipping process in which manual changes are only necessary under certain circumstances.
Integration
The Shipping component is integrated under the Logistics Execution component. Shipping is a subsequent activity of the Sales component.
Range of Functions
The shipping module supports the following functions, which include but are not limited to:
Deadline monitoring for reference documents due for shipment (sales orders and purchase orders, for instance)
Creating and processing outbound deliveries
Planning and monitoring of worklists for shipping activities
Monitoring material availability and processing outstanding orders
Monitoring the warehouse's capacity situation
Picking (with optional link to the Warehouse Management system)
Packing deliveries
Information support for transportation planning
Support of foreign trade requirements
Printing and transmitting shipping documents
Processing goods issue
Controlling using overviews of
o Deliveries currently in process
o Activities that still are to be carried out
o Possible bottlenecks

• Issues with Sales Opportunities

Hello again!
Sorry to be a pest! I'm trying to put WebTools 2007 (628) through it's paces prior to training some of our staff in it's use for CRM purposes, and I've hit a few more snags, these in particular are related to Sales Opportunities.
1. Hitting the Refresh Button (F5) on Stages tab after adding a Stage duplicates that stage and can be repeated multiple times. In theory this creates stages that would not be possible in B1. This would also create a Synching issue because B1 wouldn't allow the overlapping stages.
2. "Associated Document Number" does not link to correct the sales document. For example a sales order in WT is totally a different BP, although it does appear correctly in B1. I know in the OPPR1 Table there is a docid (docentry) and docnum column, perhaps WT is synching on the wrong one, thus linking the wrong document.
3. Adding stages appear not to be Synching back to B1. The following error message occurs. Since the Close Date is not an exposed field in WT, there is no ability to go back to alter the close date of the prior stage before creating a new stage. Because of this there is no way to prevent the following Error:
-5002:Date deviates from permissible range [OPR1.OpenDate][line: 1]
at NetPoint.SynchSBO.WebToolsChildObjects.OpportunityStage.NetPointToSBO(NPQueueObject qData)
at NetPoint.SynchSBO.SynchObjectBase.Synch()
4. Adding/Deleting Stages which have a sales amount does not update the "Total Sale" Amount in the heard record as it would the Potential Amount on the B1 side.
5. Column headings are incorrect under Sales opportunity --> Stages. It shows "sale sPerson" and "Tota lSale" and each column is shifted over by one because the date column heading appears to be missing.
Thanks,
Jason Walters

Just checking to see if anyone has re-produced any of these issues...
Thanks!

Dear Martin Kamau,
By SDK help, the Source table of SalesOpportunities Object is OOPR, and SalesOpportunitiesLines is OPR1.
In B1 application Sales Opportunity form, you could check which field need to set for OOPR and OPR1, you could refer to SDK help file also.

• Customers, Sales Orders Restrictions based on Sales Office and Sales Groups

hi all,
We have a typical scenario for one of our customers. They are SAP ERP, ECC 6.0.
They have sales employees/managers assigned to customers. In order to maintain the link between the sales employees and the customers, their earlier implementation partner followed the following method for the linkage.
Each sales employee and each sales managers are given a SAP User ID like 101, 012, 103 etc.. Sales groups OR Sales offices are also maintained with the same numbers/IDs. At the customer master level, each customer's sales group is given the sales employee ID (which is same as that of the sales group). The example is as follows.
Customer No. Sales Group Sales Office
CU1 101 108
CU2 101 108
CU3 102 108
CU4 103 109
CU5 104 110
The sales group names and the sales offices names are given the same names as that of the user IDs of the sales employees/sales managers. In the above example, the sales employee 101 (sales group 101) is assigned to customers CU1, CU2. The sales manager 108 (Sales office 108) is managing the sales employees 101 and 102.
Now the customer has some authorization issues. He wants us to provide authorizatinos in such a way that -
if the sales employee 101 logs on to the system he should be able to Display the CUSTOMERS and the Sales Orders (XD03, VD03, VA03) that are assinged only to him (In other words with the sales group 101) and similarly for other sales employees.
if the sales manager 108 logs on to the system he should be able to display the customers and the sales orders that are assigned to his sales employees (101, 102). In other words with the sales office as the manager's ID 108.
I tried to use the authorization object V_VBKA_VKO but this doesnt see to be serving the purpose as this object is not being checked at all in any of the above VA03, XD03 and VD03 transactions.
Similarly I did not find any other authorization object which makes use of Sales group field and Sales office field which also has a linkage to VA03, XD03 and VD03 transactions.
The customer is evaluating our contract with them based on this solution.
Any help is greatly and highly appreciate.
Thanks,
Niran.

Hi,
Please use the following authorization objects for your purpose. For more details please go through the documentation of the objects:
V_KNA1_BRG Customer: Account Authorization for Sales Areas

contains the following Fields which are relavant to your query
VKORG Sales Organization
VTWEG Distribution Channel
SPART Division
VKBUR Sales Office
VKGRP Sales Group

• Follow up Activities in CRM2007

Hi Folks ,
I m trying to creat a follow up activities for Lead , Opportunity - Activities is generating but im not able to open the Activity - The following is the Warning messages which is displayed.
CRM_UI_FRAME/WorkAreaViewSet - Details for Diagnosis
An exception occurred during request processing. This was handled centrally. It changed the program flow and the result of the request probably contains errors.
Procedure
Contact your system administrator.
Procedure for System Administration
Activate checkpoint group BSP_WD_EXCEPTION_DISPLAY. To do this, use transaction SAAB. If the error recurs, further details are displayed.
I have maintained the steps as mentioned above - but also i could not able to view the activites . If i cross check in the GUI - I able to open & create the activities .
If any body has faced same problem - Please provide your valueable inputs.
Regards,
Amrita

Hi Amrita,
you said you activated checkpoint group BSP_WD_EXCEPTION_DISPLAY for your user in TX SAAB.
What is the extended error message that is shown on the UI now?
As everything is working fine in SAP GUI it will most likely be an error related to the WebClient component.
cheers Carsten
