Transaction and open item data migration

Respected Gurus,
we are implememting first time sap to one company in ecc 6.0,how can i migrate the financial data,(openitems and transaction data)what is the procedure.
regards
jana

Hi Janardhan,
For all FI transactional data (in this I include open AR items, open AP items, GL balances and perhaps even GL at an item level) by the far best method, especially if you are new to this, it to extract the data from the legacy system into a text file, load and format the text file using LSMW, from LSMW call the standard load program RFBIBL00.
When you choose RFBIBL00 as the load method it will tell you that this is a direct upload program which is not strictly true. When you run the RFBIBL00 step you will be able to choose between direct upload and batch upload. Choose the batch method as it is more transparent, unless your volumes are huge.
We will shortly be posting some load guides for finance migration on our website research page.
Good luck,
Ben

  • Open items date and clearing date

    Hi,
Could any one tell me what are the field names in BSEG table for the "open items date" and "clearing date"?
    thank u
    Kaki

You should better analyze open items via secondary index tables (BSID for customers, BSIK for vendors, and BSIS for G/L accounts with open items), it would be more efficient. Those tables by design contain actual open items only.
Anyway if you have to select open items via BSEG then you should select those which have AUGBL and AUGDT fields cleared.
Another option is to use some LDB (Logical DataBase) - KDF or DDF.

  • Create withholding tax data subsequently for reconciled and open items in c

    Hi All,
Mine is a US co code and I have a  vendor for which invoice and payment documents are posted. After posting the invoice i found that the vendor is subjected to classic withholding tax which i did not calculate when posting invoice, making payments.
Now i have changed the vendor master data with relevant withholding tax details.
I know the program RFWT0020 allows us to create withholding tax data subsequently for reconciled and open items in cases where vendors or customers become liable for withholding tax with a tax rate of 0 %.
It is not working out for me.
Can any body help me on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear all,
by se38 --> report documentation, You can read carefully the following:
The auxiliary program makes it possible to convert both classic and extended withholding tax data. However, with classic withholding tax, ONLY VENDOR data can be converted.
In addition, the program enables the withholding tax code to be changed for reconciled and open items with existing withholding tax data. For this, the tax rate of the existing withholding tax data as well as the tax rate of the new withholding tax code must be 0%. The new withholding tax codes are taken from the customer or vendor master data. In the case of extended withholding tax, the withholding tax code is only changed if the related withholding tax categories are the same.  The withholding tax base amount is not changed by this procedure.
Recreating or changing the withholding tax data requires that the program first be executed for INVOICES and then executed for PAYMENTS in a subsequent step.
    I hope this helps You.

  • AP open items data

    Hi gurus,
Here i have to extract data related to ACCOUNTS PAYBLE OPEN ITEM DATA for that i have to extract Header data , item data, and vendor data, bank details.....so pls advice me from how many tables i have to  take data ...
I knew some thing like BKPF,BSEG,BSIK,LFA1,LFBK,,,,is this correct or
i have to take from BSIK for open items ,,some of the fields are avilabel in BSIK,but again i have to go to BSEG,,,,,,some fileds avilabe in this table ....pls ADVICE ME.....
    Thanks
    KRISNA

    Hi Krisna,
Even in std transdaction code FBL1N, you need to provide comp. code, vendor #, keydate.
But since you have company code only, you can retrive all the relevant vendors for that comp. code using select from table LFB1.
You can pass these vendors alongwith the given comp. code to the BAPI through a loop.
For keydate, by default it should be current system date so set it to system date.
Hope this would be of help.
    Cheers,

  • ECC6 - Line item display and Open item management Questions.

    Hi All,
For SAP ECC6, although I do not maintain line item display and open item management for Recon GL (for Debtor), I still can use FAGLB03 to view the GL balances and even Drill down to line item level by double click the value from FAGLB03 until line item level.
    Questions:
Could anyone confirm whether my assumption below, true?
    1) If Line item display (Tcode: FS00) is ON, then the data will be stored at table: BSIS
    2) If NO open item management, then there should be no data to be stored at table BSAS for thaty particular GL account
    3) BSAS will only have data, after clearing was carried out ... move from BSIS to BSAS.
    In ECC 6
    4) FAGLB03 can drill down to line item level, although the GL (Tcode: FS00) was NOT set open item management and line item display is because from FAGLB03 when drill down to line item level, it actually extract data from BSEG, right?
Additionally, we can use FBL3N to check the line item data for NON line item display GL as well.
In SAP R/3 4.7, if not mistaken, if the GL is NOT line item display and open item management, we cannot drill down the line item reading and CANNOT use FBL3N to check the line item data.
    Kindly advise on these.
    Thanks.
    sbmel

    1) If Line item display (Tcode: FS00) is ON, then the data will be stored at table: BSIS
BSIS is an open items table. You can see all GL open items there. GL's which are not open item managed can't go here
    2) If NO open item management, then there should be no data to be stored at table BSAS for thaty particular GL account
    Yes. Your understanding is correct
    3) BSAS will only have data, after clearing was carried out ... move from BSIS to BSAS.
Yes. In case of partial clearing data will be there in both the tables BSIS & BSAS
    4) FAGLB03 can drill down to line item level, although the GL (Tcode: FS00) was NOT set open item management and line item display is because from FAGLB03 when drill down to line item level, it actually extract data from BSEG, right?
These are New GL reports and report is based on document split object. if your document split is active at segment level then you can see line item report at segment level using FAGLL03. These reports has no link to FS00 settings.
    Hope this helps

  • Open Quotations and Open Items

    Hello Experts,
Can you tell me what are open quotations and open items? And in what scenario they are used?
    Arathi

Open quotations are those on which no orders or reference documents have been created so far.
Open quotations can be seen in VA15 tcode
Open quotations is a term which is applicable for the whoel document.
On the otherhand, there will be some documents where reference documents are created for some items, while for other items no reference documents are created
For example lets say a quotation has  ItemA and Item B, both having 5quantities,
On this an order is created for ItemA only for 5quantities.
Now the quotation is in Partly completed status
Item A willbe in Complete status
Item B will be in Open status.
Hope thsi helps you to undersatnd things.

  • When using program RFDM3000/Automatic creation of dispute cases what is the difference with the option of Automatic incoming payment and Open items?

We currently have a batch jobs running for each, automatic incoming payment and open items.  This was set up in the past and we are trying to determine what the difference is for each of these functions?  Do you need to have the automatic incoming run prior to the open items for residuals and payments on accounts?

    Hi Chris,
Program RFDM3000 creates dispute cases for residual items arising during automatic incoming payments (account statement, lockbox), during check presentation, or in postprocessing.
Alternatively, you can use the program to create dispute cases for open receivables items. You can use the selection criteria to restrict the quantity of open items (for example, using the document type and posting key for residual items from incoming payment postings).

  • Is terms of delivery and payment item data or header data

    Hello Gurus,
is terms of delivery and payment item data or header data ? where does it configure ?
    Many thanks,
    Frank

    Dear Frank
It is at header level only.  Whatever datas you maintain in customer master, by default, it will flow both in header and item level.  However, if you wish to change at item level, depending upon the requirement, you may do so based on which, there will be document split.
    thanks

  • Financial transaction and commitment item category

    Hello,
Can any one suggest what financial transaction and commitment item category can be used when creating the following commitment items:
    u2022     Value added tax (VAT)
    u2022     tax on profits
    u2022     before-tax income
    u2022     nett income
    u2022     net financial result
And moreover, should such a commitment items be created?
    Thanks
    Irina

    Hi Irina,
As I said, the real question is whether you are going to use these commitment items for budget management. If not, it does not really matter if it will be defined 50/2 or 50/3 - in any case, the AVC will not be applied to these lines. It's not even necessary to define a separate commitment item for these G/Ls; it's possible to define one dummy commitment item for all transactions which are not relevant for budget activities.

  • BEX Issue:Intgration of master data and Open Items cube data

    Hello Gurus,
I need some help in BEX queries.
I have master data Contract Objects which has master information like Max Number of payment and monthly installments.
In the open items cube I had open items balance for multiple line items. So I need a report which show Portfolio under which we can have multiple contract object.  So Portfolio P1 ->  contract objects C1, C2, C3 The report is as follows
    Portfolios  Total Amount               Open Items
P1           Sum of total                Sum of open
                 amount each                 items in cube
                 contract object
                 under P1 C1 + C2 + C3
    1) Total Amount = Max Number of payment * Monthly installmens(Sum for each contract object in Portfolio)
    2) Open Items = Sum of all balances under open items cube.
Now problem is if I join the two using multiprovide the Total amount gets SUMMED multiple times for each line items in open item for contract. I just wanted it summed for once for each contract object .
How do I ensure that TOTAL AMOUNT IS calculated just once for each contract object ? Is there means to solve the problem.
    Regards,
    Check.

  • Managegement of Open Item after migration

    Hello
I need a global brain storming to finish to write a specification about an update follow a migration and the management of open item.
Before, with the classic ledger we have the standard program RFSEPA02 to activate the open item management. Now we have to use the standard transaction FAGL_activate_OP.
But this standard transaction doesn't have the same effect.
In the past, SAP check wich item is cleared or not and manage the clearing for each item.
Now SAP balance the account by a global amount an it is all. We lost many information.
Our specific is  to identify the line to manage (so we will read the index BSIS without clearing document) to do the step 1 to 3 of the program.
In the step 4, to write the original document agin in our ledgers or group of specific ledgers base on the historical document. So we keep all the detail, except, the account date will be new and the document type.
I would like to know if you do the same analysis about it ? if perhaps you create an other way to adapt the standard programm to do it ...
Thanks for your brain storming, I hope to create in a final a wiki about this point, but I need your help to define all the impact of it.
    Thanks for your return
    Philippe

    Hi D.K
    before runing the this program
1 ) make sure the balance of the amount for this account is zero.
    2) block this account for further posting
    3) run this program
    4) unblock the account, then it will work

  • AR transaction to open item/close item

    Hi experts,
How can I check in the R3 system if a sales order is still open or closed. I want to reconcile the Data from BW with R3. FBL5N gives me open items I think. How can i close a open item. This will help me to identify if BW is capturing previously opened items properly.

f-03 - clearing is used when 2 clearing transactions (both dr and cr) are independently posted. these 2 items are idenfied and matched which will result in a clearing document. this document does not have any line items+
        * f-05 - post with clearing - when an entry is passed to clear an open item. this document has line items.

    Hi,
please check out the forums, there are lot of threads about the issue 'how to enhance a datasource'. Just to give you a hint. Use transaction rsa6 in your source system for that. Here you can enhance the extract structure, the datasource and you can do the coding...
