Transfered purchases WON'T transfer

I'm not really sure what the issue is, however, I have a new laptop and I've been TRYing to transfer my purchased music to my new computer. The problem is, even though I've used the transfer purchased music botton on iTunes, only 9 songs have been purchased. There is still well over 100 songs that have/will not transfer. PLEEEEEASE somebody tell me what to do. I am too afraid to even attempt to sync b/c all will be lost. Thank you for all and any help

I'm assuming all your purchase were purchased on iTunes?

The older music in my library will transfer without a problem but the purchases I've made in the last couple of months will not transfer.  The music is there - I can burn a CD with it - but it won't transfer.  The songs all have a check mark next to them, so that's not it.  The message I get is that an "unknown error" has occurred.  I tried restoring my iPod but that did not help.   Anyone have any ideas?

they need some serious reconsideration in their policies, upon realization that they're not only making themselves inferior to other music sites in terms of cost, but also in terms of user-friendly qualities. FAIL itunes, fail.

  • App store purchases won't transfer

I've seen this issue crop up on other message boards, but have yet to find a solution...
Basically, I've purchased a bunch of apps through the app store on my 2G iPod Touch (8GB, 3.1.2). Anytime I connect the iPod to my computer (iMac, 3.06GHz Intel running 10.6.2) the sync appears to go normally: the progress bar says it is "Transferring Purchases" and names every app that I've bought, and appears to successfully back them all up. I get no error messages. The issue is that, after the sync is complete, there are no Applications in the iTunes library; the Applications tab for the iPod also contains no apps. I've tried using the "Transfer Purchases" command in the file menu, tried right clicking on the device to Transfer Purchases, tried deleting the back-up on my iTunes and then backing up again, even tried reinstalling iTunes. The only thing I haven't done is restore the iPod, which I don't want to do because it will erase all the apps and their data.
    So, any ideas?

My iTunes and touch are on the same account; when I download apps through iTunes they do show up in the applications tab, *and can be removed and put back on the touch as normal.* I've tried this with a few apps and it works fine every time. I'd just rather not re-download everything I have on there, and some of the apps have their own particular data which I do not want to lose.
Apps are not "removed" from iTunes when they sync to your touch. App data is not synced with iTunes either. I'm still not sure what you are seeing, however, I would remove and reinstall iTunes.

  • New macbook pro... purchases won't transfer?

So I had all my 1600 or something songs on my iphone. I transferred them all to my new macbook using a 3rd party program, then I synced my iphone with my new computer, causing it to delete all the old songs. Then I tried to transfer all the same music back onto my iphone, and it only transferred the 1100 songs that I did not purchase from itunes, and said it was not authorized to transfer the ones that I bought, even though that's completely ridiculous because they were all on my iphone 10 minutes before that.
is there any way I can somehow "authorize" these purchases to be transferred back onto my iphone?
and on an unrelated tangent, the sheer multitude of inconveniences created by itunes superbly anal "don't share music because it is eeeevil" attitude, when I am not even trying to share music between me and other people, but simply between my own various mac devices, has influenced me to never buy another piece of itunes music again. they need some serious reconsideration in their policies, upon realization that they're not only making themselves inferior to other music sites in terms of cost, but also in terms of user-friendly qualities. FAIL itunes, fail.

  • New computer - 300+ songs I purchased won't transfer!!!!!

Help! In anticipation of buying a new computer, I copied my I-Tunes library on to an external hard drive. I have now loaded my library on to my new computer. After connecting my I-Pod, only about half my songs transferred, and I got a message saying that 300+ songs (that I paid for by the way!) cannot be transferred because they were on another computer. I assume I-Tunes thinks I'm sharing songs, but surely Apple realizes that people buy new computers! It's too late for me to use my I-Pod "in reverse" to transfer the songs on to my new computer (and nowhere in my I-Pod manual did it suggest that I needed to do so). How can I retrieve all these songs I paid for?????

  • How do I transfer my iTunes library to a new computer?  I have transferred purchased music but wish to transfer the rest of my library.  Home sharing isn't responding and the computers are going to be in different locations.

How do I transfer my iTunes library from my old computer to my new one?  I have successfully transferred purchased music but not my library of CDs.  Home sharing will not work, and isn't working in fact, as the computers will be in different countries.

Assuming your library is in the default location and all of the media is stored within the library's media folder then this is what you need to do:
Copy the entire iTunes folder from <User's Music> on the source computer to <User's Music> on the target computer.
You can do this directly over a network (making use of shared network folders) or by making a copy on an external drive, moving the drive between computers, and copying again. Any way that works is good. However if you say that you cannot use Home Sharing (doesn't work properly anyway) because the source and target are not on the same network then method 2 as I describe it won't work either.
Your playlists, play counts, ratings etc. are stored inside the database iTunes Library.itl which is inside the iTunes folder and a successful migration includes all of this information, not just the media files. I recommend method 1 from the earlier link as it sets you up with a backup mechanism to use in future. All hard drives fail eventually and often without warning, or at least a warning that is noticed and then heeded.
If the initial assumption is wrong, or you need help checking, just ask.

  • Purchased app from iPhone won't transfer to iTunes

I purchased an app on my iPhone and now every time I sync, it starts off with:
Transferring purchases from "iPhone", Copying (app)
The progress bar get about 10% and then it moves on to the next task such as installing new apps or syncing contacts. It does this EVERY TIME. I go to File->Transfer Purchases and it says the same thing above, hits 10%, and stops. I never get an error message. The app doesn't show up on my "Applications" in the library nor does it show on the "Applications" tab for manual syncing. I can't re-download the app via iTunes because iTunes doesn't realized I purchased it and wants to charge me again.
My phone is not Jailbroken and I'm running 2.0.2, although I have been getting many 0xE800002E errors lately and have had to sync apps manually for a while and I'm afraid of losing my purchased app should I ever have to do a wipe and restore.

My wife just received an email from Apple Tech Support. Please see excerpt below:
+"Because you have already purchased "Texas Hold'em", you may download it+
+again at no charge, either from your device or using iTunes on your+
    computer.
+Be sure that you are signed in to the same iTunes Store account that you+
+used to purchase the application originally, and follow the steps to+
+purchase it again. You will be notified that you have already purchased the+
+item and can download it again for free."+
So... she went to download it again from iTunes. At first it didn't recognize that she had already purchased it, but by the confirmation stage it did state that she already purchased it and gave the option to download again at not charge. She went ahead and did this for Texas Hold Em and several other apps that she purchased originally from her phone. All is now in sync on both her iTunes and iPhone.
I'm assuming this is a bug that will probably get corrected in a future release.

My old ipod nano is recognised by my new MacBook Air, and even transferred purchases from it, but it won't synch?
When I linked it it used the name I had given the ipod so it seems strange that it won't synch even though it is definitely connected.

  • My Ipod won't transfer purchases.

My Ipod won't transfer purchases. I've tried all of the options to do so, but I click it and it doesn't do anything

Point 2 might still be applicable, it explains finding which file is causing the problem.
"Watch the display at the top of the iTunes window while your iPod is being updated. The name of the problematic file should appear in the display right before the error appears"
If the file is corrupted in some way you'll most likely have to put the iPod in Manual mode and delete it unfortunately. Further down in the article is this passage "To prevent future issues, you should delete the unusable files, then restore them from a backup". The problem then might be do you have a back up or not?

I am using my old iPhone for playlist for my Dad's funeral as that meets the crematorium requirements. Some tracks - uploaded from personal CDs to MacBook Pro and successfully transferred to new iPhone (with small doc) won't transfer on syncing.  Most do, but why won't some, of my own music sync when others off the same album and in the same playlist do? I have now checked the storage, freed up 766MB, how can i not sync (and get everything i've just deleted back) but upload the required tunes? All help appreciated, many thanks x x x

I don’t want to hear any of that “iTunes will let you re-download anything you’ve lost” nonsense.
it won't anyways. except or apps, you are entitled to one download only. there4 it is important to back up.

When you are viewing the tracks on the hard disc, did you then click on "Import CD"?  This is needed to initiate the importing process that will add the tracks to your library.
