Translation needed for error message

I ran the Additional Software and Apple Hardware Test disk that came with my IMac g5 because I've had problems recently with various programs, such as Itunes and Firefox. The error message I got during the memory test was as follows: 2MEM/1/4:DMM1/J4001. What does this mean? I have a feeling it refers to a problem with my RAM but am not sure. I did add more RAM after I got the IMAC and am wondering if the problem is in the RAM chip that I added at that time. Thanks for any help

Thanks, however, I've discovered that the version of OS X I am running is actually different than the version that came with my machine. I believe this happened because a couple years ago I brought my IMAC into the local CompUSA store to have them fix the same problem I've been having. Their solution was to re-install OS X. But they used the version current at that time--10.4.11--not the version I had on disks at home. My installation disks are for version 10.3.5. When I insert CD (not DVD) disk 1, it wants me to re-install that version and gives me no option to run Disk Utility from the disk before beginning the re-installation process.
I do have a Tech Tool Deluxe CD that came with the Apple Care Protection Plan I purchased at the time I got the IMAC. But that doesn't seem to run at all, probably because it wasn't designed for OS 10.4.11.
Now, I did just buy a brand new Macbook pro with the latest version of OS X (Leopard?) I suppose I could try using the DVDs that came with that to install that OS on my first generation IMAC. But I'm not sure if that's legal and if it would work. I did get a newer version of Tech Tool Deluxe with the Macbook, because I also bought the Protection Plan for this computer as well. I might try running the newer Tech Tool disk on the IMAC and see if that can diagnose and repair the hard disk problem that shows up when I run Disk Verify.

Preview needs an error message for overflowing pdf fields

When filling in a pdf form, Preview gives no error message saying that a fixed-length field is too full. Instead, it lets me keep typing, and then reverts the field back to its old value after I tab on to the next field.
What do I need to set (in either Preview or in the form — the forms are generated with both the LaTeX package hyperref and Acrobat Pro) to get an error message to come up? Does the field need its own javascript or something to count down how many characters remain to be entered?

Hello All,
I am calling a synchronous web service from PI ccBPM and getting a response back to PI ccBPM itself.
So the steps in BPM are receive(from CRM), sync step (to call web service) and a control step (to end the BPM process).
The requirement is to check if error_list node in the response from web service call has a value in it and throw an error in SXMB_MONI so that they can easily identify how many messages errored out out of thousands of messages.
This is the response structure for web service if there are errors.

In Response map when Error segment appear's fail the maping so that you can see the list of message in MONI. and do not need to put any conditions in MONI.
I mean in your Respoinse when ERROR_LIST segment coman under that one manatory field you select and take that field length say 20 characters.
source field->Substring (0,100) get the 100 characters from source in that case case from source it won't get 100 characters mapping will fail so that you can see the Error messages in SXMB_MONI.
Finally what I am saying do the wrong condition mapping in the response mapping so that mapping will fail.

Rollover Tool Tips are NOT intuitive for error messages

Just a note for the Adobe guys here:
I've run into 2-3 occasions so far this morning that I was stymied by seemingly unresponsive DPS apps/services, only to discover the error message was hidden in a tooltip for the field.
This happened both on the Folio Producer: Organizer (the very underdocumented Export command), and a couple times in viewer builder when I would bang "next" to no avail, only to finally notice a thin red line around a field.
Not sure what the logic is for this, but that is not the proper usage of tooltips and is a pretty unfriendly experience for the user. Please, flash a big error popup in my face when there's an issue. I'd appreciate it.

In the process of making a single folio viewer, you need to use the "export" function in Organizer. I went to do so, but the button was grayed out, and the "Export" command is not documented in either the "iPad publishing companion" or the "Uning Adobe DPS" document. Export is mentioned in the online help, but it never mentions that you have to publish the folio before you can export. It was only during a call to tech support that I happened to hover over the button long enough to see the "You must publish the app" warning in the tooltip.
I now get it that "publishing" the folio is apparently a needed part of your process, but for a single issue viewer app, it never occurred to me that I needed to "publish" it, since Adobe would not be delivering the content.

Scripting for error messages

1.On a selection-screen with four select -options as s_vbeln,s_vkorg,s_vtweg,s_spart. I need to validate and write a error message ' enter atleast one field' if it is executed without any values.
2.Also validation should be done that the entered value is correct or incorrect and if it is incorrect it should show the error message concerned to the fields for example if the vkorg value is entered incorrect , it should display'' please enter valid entry' respectively to all the fields.
Can anyone send me a code on how to perform this.

Using function module 'FORMAT_MESSAGE' you can capture the messages.

NEED HELP error messages - cannot install iTunes upgrade

I'm running Windows Vista.
I've been using iTunes for about a year, no problem.
When I went to download the iTunes latest version I have had nothing but problems. I keep getting this error message on trying to install the upgrade for iTunes, and now I cannot even use iTunes:
iTunes could not be installed because Visual Basic Script (VBscript) is not installed or has been disabled. Make sure VBscript is installed, turn off script blocking in anti-virus and personal firewall software, re-register VBscript, and then install iTunes.
I have no idea what that message means and I need step by step directions on how to find out of perform whatever that message means.
Your help would be GREATLY appreciated.

we know for field validation, once it not meet the validation, it will throw out the error message and don't allow you to save the record.
But is there any way to show warning message just a note then user can continue the operation?

Let me put it this way..
Every Error Message belongs to a Message Class.
So, a particular Message Class will have a number of Messages under it.
You need to know the Message class first. For Sales we have the following message classes V1, V10, V2, V4, V5, VD, VU, VV, VX, WVA
*If you want to know all the message classes available for a transaction:-*
For knowing all the Message Classes for a particular transaction, you goto-->SE93, put the transaction code and choose display. After this, there is a button on the top (Display Object List), press that button. On the left hand side you will get the Object Name-(example: VA in case of sales). Drop down there and choose Message Classes. You will get all the message classes there.
If you know the Message Class and want to see the Messages under it:
So, goto-->SE91, put the message class and choose Display

No details are provided for this error message
This usually means that certain InfoObjects are missing and required for the Transported Object to be activated.
example: Transporting an InfoSource may be incorrectly reported as successful even though certain InfoObjects do not exist on the target system and are required by the InfoSource. Later on if you transport an InfoPackage requiring these missing InfoOjects you will receive this error. So basically Transporting an InfoSource does not correctly report that there are missing InfoObjects.

Possible reasons for this error may be :
1. all the objects are not properly collected in transports .
2.The sequence of transports should be proper ex -> infoobjects,cubes,Multiprovider,Query .
3.It may happen that any one of the object is not yet transported so higher level requests are getting failed .
Please check the object and there dependency with other objects.

Solution for Error Message 2122!?

Hi everyone,
I've been reading all your posts about error message 2122 and so far nothing has worked. Someone mentioned looking at the compatability tab and after playing around with it, it worked! Here's what I did...
Right click on the iTunes logo on your desktop and choose the compatibility tab. I am running Windows XP, so in the first box, for compatibilty mode, I chose to run as Windows 2000.
Click OK
Cd burn worked fine!
Let me know if anyone else has success with this.

I zeroed in on this same error message today. I can't tell you exactly what was causing it, but I can tell you exactly the object that was causing the issue. It was a 1-row, 2 column table. In one cell was some text that included hyphenation ("in-process"). In another cell was a drop-down menu with only two options defined: pass and fail.
I noticed that as I was scrolling through the document, as long as this particular table was visible, I would get the same "bad hyphenation" message continuously, line after line, and once the screen threw up 8 lines of this same message at once. But once I deleted the object, the error no longer appeared, and when I re-created the same table sans hyphen, no error messages.
I must note that once the error message appeared, when I tried to work with the table-cells, the object no longer functioned as a joined table but instead worked like individual fields.
My suggestion is to go through your document and look for table cells with hyphenated text, delete them completely and then re-type them without the hyphen included, and see if that takes care of the problem. That's how I got rid of my error.

Check the PO numbers here is not necessary because you are using a select-option(range), if something erroneous is typed, the program will simply not select it.
This would be a different story if you where using a parameter. Here you would do a check against EKKO in the AT SELECTION-SCREEN event.

Substitution functionality of OSS also needed for B1 messages

Description of Requirements:
The substitution functionality of the OSS doesnt apply for B1 messages so it is impossible to share work on the same OSS ticket with several people.
It is necessary that a defined stand-in can share information with SAP on an OSS ticket opened by a colleague.
Valid as of:
This is not a legal requirement that is applicable at a distinct date, but it is currently a big problem to our daily business.
It worked till some weeks ago then suddenly the functionality was gone. On reporting it as a bug to the OSS (ticket 254736 / 2008) we were told to raise a development request for something that had already been working before.
Business Needs:
We have a big installation with several systems and 200 out of planned 400 users are already live with B1. We are in an international rollout. We have several developers, application supporters, consultants and system administrators working exclusively on our B1 landscape. So we always have several OSS messages for B1 open at the same time, some of them in high priority.
We work in shifts, and urgency as well as time delay when we get support from SAP Asia often requires that the person currently working on an OSS ticket is not the one who opened the message.
Yet if we stand-in for each other, we cannot share information with SAP via OSS on messages a colleague reported in the first place, because the substitution functionality of the OSS doesnt work.
Sometimes just people get ill or are on vacation and it still has to be possible that the work is continued by a colleague. OSS makes this impossible for B1 messages.
Examples:
Case 1:
Colleague A works the early shift, colleague B the late shift (both in Europe). B opens an OSS ticket for some problem and informs A about it. SAP support is transferred to India. India works in shifts according to European time slots so that would be fine except the fact that the time during the first shift is lost because A cant take over the OSS ticket from B annoying in high priority cases. But then SAP development in China is drawn into the case. Time delay makes it necessary that a webex session is scheduled during the early shift. So A prepared by B about the problem - will do the webex. Yet A cant share information with SAP via the OSS ticket because he hasnt opened it. They resort to direct e-mail and phone. The OSS ticket is missing crucial information. B as well as SAP India has to be informed separately.
Case 2:
Colleague A opens an OSS ticket. There is some activity going on but it takes weeks because the problem cant be solved easily. Then A goes on (long before planned) vacation. Colleague B is there as a stand-in and prepared to take over daily business from A. Yet the OSS ticket cant be worked on by B because the substitution functionality in OSS is missing. Work comes to a halt until A is back from holidays.
Both examples are taken from real life! We experienced this during the last weeks.
Things would get even worse if A opens a ticket and then gets really ill for a long time or leaves the company. Nobody could access his pending OSS tickets to continue the work.
Current Workaround:
In complex and / or very urgent cases there is direct contact with SAP not via the OSS, but then information can be lost easily in the process.
Sometimes work comes to a halt.
When a colleague is absent for longer a new OSS message about the same problem is opened so that somebody else can work on the problem. But then often another colleague from SAP gets assigned to the new ticket, not the one who had already worked on the problem before. This means additional work at SAP and ours because of the need to explain a known issue again to another person.
Proposed Solution:
Give us back the substitution functionality! It has worked before and is still working for our R/3 messages! Cant be that big of a deal!

Oh, now I rememeber to have read somewhere about those commands as username, but surely a chooser would be the better functionality.
I think I'll remove Slim again, and just use the console login with .xinitrc to automatically start XFCE4, because there isn't really any difference (having bootsplash on vc1 can also be a nice thing), and it speeds up booting a little.
