Transparency gif image for icon

Hi all,
I am trying to do some art work with Microsoft paint. I am trying to draw an icon(a gif image).
Microsoft paint? Is there any other tool that I can use?
I have problem with the transparancy color. It keep showing up even I set the color to be RGB(153,153,153) Any idea guys?

In my experience, if there is a GIF image that already contains transparent pixels, you can show it using "ImageIcon.class" directly without the need to set any RGB color yourself.

Gif images for iconic button?anybody met success

I have done everything what is specified in the doc i.e added the lineof code for app.iconpath and referred the same in the HTML FOR cartridge in serverApp param
and also in the cartridge parameters but the result no the buttons just stare balank at me.
Instead i tried to replace the buttons with the 1k,2k size gif images oops! Oracle Developer server can't even take a byte of
image files and the application hangs searching for the file.
Why can anyone who has met with success please tell me how?

The only sollution worked for me is
in Registry.dat (NOT WINDOWS REGISTRY)
which located in
ORACLE_HOME\FORMS60\JAVA\ORACLE\FORMS\REGISTRY
FOLLOWING SETTINGS
default.icons.iconpath=/dev60temp/
default.icons.iconextension=gif
where /dev60temp/ is virtual directory made
for WebDB listener.
Please let me know if your immage looks Ok.
Mine is shifted to the upper right corner.

Okay, I know this doesn't answer your question, but don't get me wrong. A logo is meant to be the way it was designed - upright, no flipping/ swiveling animation. Why exactly do you want to let your logo turn around?
If its to grab attention, why dont you consider animating the area on which your logo sits (header)? Or maybe add nice transitive slideshows on your main content area to add more interactivity?

Safari downloads gif images for no reason

When I visit this site

some gif images are automatically downloaded (called p-01-OVlaSjnOLG.gif). Every click results in a download. How do I stop this?
Safari version 4.0.4, running on OS X 10.5.8. Lots of space on hard drive.

If you right or control click an image a pop up menu will appear but just clicking on an image shouldn't result in the file automatically downloading.
Try resetting Safari and emptying the cache.
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem.

Make sure Safari is not running in Rosetta. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle so it faces down. Where you see Open using Rosetta... make sure that is NOT selected.

Associating two Icons (2 gif files) for Icon Source

Hi,
Kindly note that I have a requirement where we need to display two Icons from to be displayed side by side on the UI for the tree UI element (TreeNodeType).
But at present I am able to associate only one .gif file with Icon source. Please let me know if I can associate two .gif files with the same Icon Source Property of the Tree UI (NodeType) UI element.

Bind the Icon source with the String type value attribute.
And you can change the image at runtime.You can show the one image at one time

Losing jpg preview image for icons on desktop and in folders

I have my View Options set to "Show Icon Preview", which normally works fine. Periodically the previews disappear, and show simply as a generic jpg icon. It is not consistent or across the board - some folders are fine, some are not, and the desktop itself has some of each!
I've jumped through every hoop I know.... PRAM, Prefs, etc, but nothing has worked. It's spontaneously corrected itself twice, but this is getting to be a problem. Does anyone know anything... I hope.....?

Why does photoshop elements 12 freeze when trying to save an image for the web?

Everytime I try to save an animated GIF image for the web the whole application freezes and I have to force quit. The file sizes are small. Can someone help me with this issue?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Drawing multiple .gif images

Hello, I am creating a Card class and a Deck class, and I have .gif images for each card. I am trying to create a CardDisplay class to test my images. The Card/Deck classes work fine, but I am running into problems getting the images to display. What I have is a JFrame and I use a JLabel for each .gif image. When I add the JLabel to the contentPane, it is still only showing a blank window. Can someone give me any guidance as to how to go about this? Also, I am assuming once I get it to display 1 gif, it will display the remaining 51 in the same place. What I am trying to do is to display them all in a row.. well 4 rows of 13 cards that is. Loss transparency in an animated GIF image when resizing

Hi Friends,
I have to write a program to resize GIF, JPEG , and PNG images. I wrote and it works but when i resize a GIF file it loses its transparency and give a black color for transparent area.
I used a GifDecoder found at www.fmsware.com/stuff/GifDecoder.java
and a gif encoder found at jmge.net/java/gifenc/Gif89a090b.zip.
i don't know where the problem is .
i have some small problems in here.
How can i preserve the transparency of GIF image?
How can i set a transparent color in Graphic2D object? smtimes it may help me. or error may be in the encoder.

Java comes with gif encoder/decoders.
Gifs are indexed images. This means that, for example, each pixel is an 8 bit value that is used to look up the correct 24 bit value in the index table. Gifs handle transparency by allowing one particular pixel value to be nominated as transparent.
If you just rescale the image then you will likely cause pixels with the magic "transparent" value to change their value and become normal pixels. Alternately pixels that are not transparent may have their values changed such that they are transparent.
Possibly the easyist solution to to force the image into a full RGBA image. Scale this then perform post processing on the image. I.e convert it back into an indexed image, looking at the values of the alpha channel (prior to making it indexed and if they are high enough then modify the corresponding pixel in the indexed image to have the magic transparent value. Then use Metadata passed to your Image writer to indicate which value is transparent.

How to add icons and images for my forms ?

My forms were upgraded from 6i to 11g. Then all customized images and icons can not display.
Icon filename in property palette of forms and menus are the filename without path.

I set default.icons.iconpath to be a absolute path to all icons folder in Registry.dat, and make imageBase= documentbase in formsweb.cfg, doesn't work.
What is the DocumentBase folder ? Is it $ORACLE_HOME/forms ??
I also tried imageBase= codebase, package all images( gif files.) in a jar, store it into the forms/java directory. append icons.jar to archive parameter in formsweb.cfg. still doesn't work.
What's the solution steps to do this please ?

The preferred method of using Icons is to deploy them in a signed .jar file. The Oracle document you references is a little vague in this respect (paragraph 4.9.2.1). If you are going to use a jar file for your icons, you need to do the following:
1) You must digitally sign the jar file (preferably with a Trusted Certificate - such as Verisign). You can use your own keystore, but you will get a Trusted Certificate warning in your application.
2) Upload your <YOUR_ICON_FILE_NAME>.jar file to the %FORMS_HOME%/forms/java directory. If you use the default installation, the %FORMS_HOME% directory is typically "/Oracle_FRHome1".
3) Update the default.env to include the full path to the jar file in the CLASSPATH variable.
4) Then you need to update the following variables in the formsweb.cfg :
4.1) archive=frmall.jar, <YOUR_ICON_FILE_NAME>.jar
4.2) imageBase=codebase
After making these changes I recommend restarting your WLS_FORMS instance to ensure the changes takes affect.

Not showing image in basic copy gif image icon and place on html page

Trying to do a basic copy gif image icon and place it on a basic html page.
The image shows up in my local page and shows on remote side but when I go to view in browser it does not show as a image. It shows the border but no image.
The directions were (working with windows xp and IE8)
Download the image to your C:\temp folder.
4. Copy the gif file from your C:\temp folder and paste it in the same folder where your .html or .asp file is.
I copied the image with right click save as in many different areas of computer. I even put on desktop.
I add image and it shows on the site I am working in but when putting to remote side it does not view as an image on the browser.
I have cleared cashe as well as pressed cntrl/refresh and still nothing.
Other images work and show.

Basic assumptions:
You have Defined a site.
All files reside within the defined site (including image files)
All files use the appropriate file extensions, for example, image.gif
You have saved and uploaded all site files to your server.
You are EXACTLY naming the source image (no errant capital letters) in the link.
If your other images are linking properly and showing, delete this image and insert it again (or re-link it to the image file within your site structure).

Custom Icon Images for Folders in KM

Hello Everyody,
I have to display folders such as Pesonal Documents, Public documents, Recently used, Favourites etc which are there in the entry point repository in KM. Right now all these folders are being displayed with the default icon image specified. I want to replace these default images with custom images but couldnt see any property where i can change the image path for these folders. I checked the details of all these folders and even went through the properties but there it shows only the default image name speciefied for that folder and no active settings where i can change the image path for custom icon. Kindly suggest how to implement custom image for KM folder icons.

Hi,
If I understood, you have a KM navigation iview, where some folders apperar. You want to change the icon for each of them differently.
For this do the following:
First have a look into the KM.navigation iview and get the layout set property. Go to System config->KM->Content management->User interface->Settings->LayoutSet and find the layout set you are using. Go to appropriate resource renderer and check the "Icon setting". Change it to: iconreplace.
Now get the KM details for your folders and change the IconSource property to your image Example:
/etc/public/mimes/images/add.gif
Voila...the icons for these folders are changed!

I'm basically trying to optimize a transparent image for the
web. I have a straight PNG vesion here, which is what I'm trying to
do, but it's around 96k - so a bit high.
It looks like :

down, and looks OK in Safari, but looks hopeless in IE (6) :

Logo image distored when creating a transparent gif and png

Hi all,
Creating a logo for my department with little or no graphic design exp. I'm experiencing issues when saving the file as a transparent GIF or PNG. The GIF removes the 300 dpi setting that the print shop needs to turn this into a poster and the PNG is creating some jagged edges around my logo. The image is 2000 pixels and about 7 in. by 7 in.
Any help would be appreciated. I can email the PSD to anyone if they can help. Here is the PNG:

There was no abuse, just an observation. Would an abusive person be trying to help you? Is there a crime in suggesting that one prepare themselves with more experience before taking on a project like this?
Aside from low resolution, there were a few other signs that you might be in over your head with a logo design. Logos are typically created in a vector program (not Photoshop).
I cannot imagine a reputable print shop asking you for a PNG or GIF file when there are so many better formats.
