Transparent Artboard Possible in Flash 8?

I am working on a site at the moment and I need the artboard
to be transparent as the site itself it's completely rectangle (i
have one corner which is curved off). The reason i need the
artboard to be transparent is because the html background is going
to be a photograph and not a solid colour so i can't fill in the
areas i want to be cut off with the same colour.
If anyone could help me it would be great!

What hoppe11 showed -- which is indeed the correct answer
here -- is the
addition of a "wmode" parameter to the <object> and
<embed> tags used to
embed your SWF content into your HTML document. The key, as
you've
discovered, is to understand where they belong in the HTML.
Somewhere on your page, you're likely to find a grouping of
tags that
include <object>, along with a set of <param>
children, and then <embed>.
(I say "likely," because you might be using JavaScript to
embed your
content, which would change things. Let me know, if this is
the case.)
This <object>/<embed> pairing is present to
cover the different ways
browsers embed multimedia content. Traditionally, Internet
Explorer uses
the <object> tag (and its child <param> tags) and
everything else --
Firefox, Netscape, Safari, etc. -- uses the <embed>
tag. Notice, for
example, that the attributes of hoppe11's <embed> tag
(flashvars, quality,
scale, etc.) match the attributes of corresponding
<param> tags inside the
<object> tag:
<param name="flashvars" value="<?=$flashvars?>">
<param name="quality" value="high">
<param name="scale" value="noscale">
It's important you realize that hoppe11's tags and
attributes are
hoppe11's: your own code may vary, depending on your own
circumstances, so
you'll have to use hoppe11's code as a guide, rather than
something to copy
verbatim.
All you need to do is find your own
<object>/<embed> pairing and add a
new <param> tag inside your <object> tag. This
<param> will contain two
parameters: name and value. The value of the name attribute
should be
"wmode", and the value of the other attribute should be
"transparent". Then
you'll add a corresponding attribute to the <embed>
tag:
wmode="transparent" -- and that should do it for you.
Again, if you're using JavaScript to embed your content, let
me know
(Dreamweaver may have done this for you, or Flash may have,
or you might be
using something like SWFObject).

  • Can't get Transparent background in Adobe Flash Professional CS4

I'm wanting to create a moving object that will be exported into a tv commercial.
Object has already been created in Adobe Illustrator, and now will be dropped into flash for adding movement.
The destination commercial will be created in Sony Vegas, with the settings of (Australian) PAL television (25 fps, 576x720 pixels, lower field first).
Thus keeping it simple, I want to set Adobe flash with the same output format, meaning that the canvas will have to be 576x720 pixels at 25 fps.  So far this seems to have worked okay.
Now I'm wanting to get rid of the canvas colour, just like I have here in this photoshop screen shot.
Judging by the colour palette in Flash Professional, it looks like it can't be done.  I've checked "transparent palette" through yahoo and google, and had no results.  The adobe documentation only details how to remove a background in Photoshop.
Can someone please inform me how to get transparent background in Adobe Flash Professional CS4.  Thanks

As far as I know there is no option to set up a file with a transparent background in design mode.  A transparent background is normally realized in the embedding code of an html web page that displays the Flash file (using wmode="transparent" as a parameter).

  • Is this design attached possible in Flash?

Please take a look at this preliminary design for a video production studio and tell me if this is possible in Flash. Notes in magenta are on the sketch.
Any modification suggestions to make this possible are also welcome. If you are willing and able, I would be happy to give you the job of helping me make this go live.
    Thank You!

I would say it is all doable in Flash, though the part that I'd be wary of would be animating the folks in the chairs... a smooth animation could be costly in file size, and I don't know what to recommend for creating that animation.  I haven't dealt much with video, but I know that you can interupt a currently playing video to play another based on a small project I did.

  • Would it be possible to flash an nvidia geforce 8800 gtx

I know a flashed 7800 gtx is available for a late g5, but wondering if an 8800 gtx can be flashed to do the same.

Not possible to flash because there's no open firmware image to flash with. You'd have to write the FCode from scratch. And since the 8800 is a different generation from the 7800 for which a rom image is available, the changes in the rom will very likely be non-trivial (i.e. not just changing some ids).
However, I've recently read that the hackintosh folks are using so called Injectors in order to use normal PC cards without EFI firmware. As far as I understand, the situation is very similar to using a PC card in a g5. You'd lose the OF screens, but once the OS X driver gets control, it should be business as usual. I'd be interested in hearing whether anyone has pursued this strategy on the ppc macs?

  • Is PS3's XrossMediaBar interface possible in Flash?

I'm interested in recreating the flowing waves in the background.
They are curvy lines with an outer glow, slowly waving independently and blending together.

  • Is this possible - Import Flash swf which then imports an external swf

    Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to (as the title says) to import an swf which itself imports an external swf?
Explanation - I've got an scrollbar created in flash...and to keep it tidy i've created the scroll 'content' as another swf which is imported into  the scrollbar swf.
Whenever i publish/render the project the scroll bar appears but the content does not.
Is it possible to do this?
Captivate > imports flash > which imports external swf
    Cheers
    Craig.

Yes that shouldn't be a problem at all. You probably won't be able to see it working when you preview the project from within Captivate but if you publish it and manually copy/paste the external swf to the publish directory, it should work just fine.

  • Is this possible with flash?

I have a client that needs a CDrom with data update
    capabilities.
I've never have done something similar, but I thought some
    like this could
    (or not!) be done:
    > The application would create a folder on the user's PC
    (wich could be
    > assigned by him, or into a default location)
    > Would check a URL for updates, and download them into
    the previously
    > created folder
    > the it would read the contents from that updated folder
Is this possible? One one the many problems would be to have
    the flash app
    remembering the 'Updates Folder' path.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jorge Olino

    hi,
this is possible only with a help of third party application
like mdm zinc or flashjester or mprojector. flash itself doesnot
has this capability as it is made for web mainly.

  • Is it possible embed flash to JavaFX ?

    Hi ,
What I am try to do it , I want to make accordion horizontal menu each slid want to show one flash , I try to do it with JavaScript or embed in other fash , But each one have some problem . I would like to try this with JavaFX , but I am not sure is possible or not , and If yes how I can do it ?
    Thanks

It depends also on what you call "Flash". If that's a full fledged Flash applet, with ActionScript code and such, I remain on my position. Although I believe there are some attempts to do a Flash reader in pure Java, it might be something to search for.
If that's just reading .flv movies, the MediaPlayer can do that.

  • Help! Transparency error when opening flash website on Chrome

Hi, this website was created with html background under and flash on it. When I open it on IE or FF, It shows exactly like my client's design
    You can see image below
But this error happened when I open it on Google Chrome: a piece of flash part can see through background. Feel like transparency
Where does this error come from? And how I can fix it? Please help me! Thank you all

has probably sth to do with wmode.
set wmode to "opaque" to see if that fixes the problem.

  • Saving SWF with Transparent Background - Possible?

I have made a box with a rounded corner and a border in Flash but when I publish the file the outer edge of the corner is still white and I want it transparent so it takes on the color of the website background. How can I get my background to be transparent?
    Thanks

    Thanks Ned.
In my properties settings there is no provision to set the background to "Transparent" so I left it at #111111. Then in my Publish Settings I set the Window Mode to "Transparent Window", but when I published it and previewed it in my website the background was still #111111.
Any idea what I did wrong?

  • Problem getting transparency in Dreamweaver with Flash

I recently upgraded my Dreamweaver to CS4 and it has has changed the code I had for a site I designed. I used to have transparency in my Flash movie so that the browser background could be seen through the movie. I have now lost this. Could someone please help me getting this transparency back as I know very little about Dreamweaver or html for that matter.

  • Recording a series of mouse clicks possible with Flash?

    Hi,
I am having a go at developing a drum machine and I have a collection of buttons that play audio.
Is there a piece of code, or somewhere I can search to record a series of mouse clicks, ideally against a timer that I could then play back?
I have no idea if this is possible (I am sure it is) or what to search for.

you can record mouse clicks but timing in flash is approximate so may not be suitable for what you want.
you can use getTimer() to record the number of ms that have transpired since your app started.  and you can use mouse click listeners to record when the mouse is clicked.

  • Is it possible for Flash Remoting to do this?

I was wondering if it is at all possible to program a Flash
site for Flash Remoting and use a database on another server? Of
course we have access to the server and could place and script
    there to use the database.
Do we have to use the same language as the other server and
    far as fetching information?
I would love to use Coldfusion on my server and retrieve info
from the server where the other site resides that uses php.
    Is this possible? Thanks!

In 2012 I had a vehicle repossessed. Recently I decided to do something about my credit. When I ran my credit report I noticed that the lender is reporting 2 repos. 2 seperate amounts. One for 7700 and another for 738. I disputed this on EQ. It was verified so I called the lender who stated that the 2nd amount was for the repo charges. I asked her why that was not added to the 7700 account. She stated they could not. I asked to for them to send a copy of the signed contact where I agreed to pay that amount for that charge. She stated they did not have one but they could send a copy of the original loan contract, but it would take a while do to it being at another location in there file storage. How could EQ verify if the loan company doesn't have contract accessible, and can they report 2 repos for one vehicle?I don't know if it is legal or not. However, it doesn't make logical sense to me that they could split the debt into the balance owed on the vehicle and the cost to repossess. The ability to collect both the deficiency and the cost to repo is in the contract you signed with the lender. IMO that means the total unpaid deficiency would be one figure - not two separate tradelines because the contract is what permits the lender to collect both the repo fees and the deficiency amounts. If I were in your shoes I would do the following:First, send a letter to the lender in writing that they correct their reporting with the CRA's of the deficiency and be specificSecond, if the lender doesn't correct the reporting, contact the CFPB.  The upside is that they may just remove the tradelines entirely rather than correct.  GL

  • Is a Transparent Backround Possible with Visual Communicator

    Hi,
A friend of mine has VC3 and I had a chance to play with it and it's awesome. Does anyone know, though if it is possible to maintain a transparent background for the video. Eg. when you are in the V-screen tab you have the option to change the V-screen to another grapic, but what if i want the flv video that I create to be transparent on the web page that it is placed on (as in this example http://totalwebvideo.com/ ). can anyone help me?
    thanks

    Hi Chris,
Just seen your post from last year. I am trying to do the same as you, did you find a way of saving as transparent? Did you buy any more or the total web video stuff, I want to buy the transparent player and trigger lock but there $120 each and i'm having a quiet work month!
Any tips and info and I'll help you with anything i've learnt. I use a
