Transport Basics
Hi All,
I have few questions on Transport Request in ABAP.
1) How to do we handle requests numbers when deleting an object from data dictionary and creating those with the same names?
2) could both delete and create entry be put into single request?
3) what does happen in the target system when a request contains deleted objects is released?
Nikhil
HI,
To Delete a Request, you have to delete the sub-objects first from it, then Object, then Child Request and then Parent Request.
Secondly, Need not to delete the request, but you can use the same for new object creation.
In Case of customization, many times object is first crested, then deleted and then re-created.
So all of these changes can be stored under same objects.
It does not make any wrong impact on system as per the sequence of object creation.
But as per the zero risk factor, it is suggested to create a fresh request for the final object.
If Same Request including deleted object goes to target system, it could create problem during transport, like object not found and during use of the object in target system, wrong results could occur.

Transporter - Basic installation and connection questions
We have never used or installed the Transporter before. We are currently using Tidal 5.3x and are upgrading a sandbox environment to 6.2. I have looked at all the transporter documentation I can find and am still missing some very basic questions - plus I cannot get the "help" option in transporter to work.
WHERE do you install the Transporter and why? CM Server? Master Server? Desktop? If it is on a server, then does the user that runs it need to remote the server in order to user transporter?
I have attempted to install on each of the above, but cannot establish a connection. When I click "test" I get error "Failed to Connect [Login failure with responseCode [404]]What should I be entering in each of the following Connections fields? My comments indicate what I have assumed/attempted to enter and received the error above.
Connection name - just a given name to a connection? aka TESSandboxMaster
Server Name - what server? master? Is there a specific format this needs to be in?
DSP/Plug in name - I found a dsp file on my CM Server named TES-6.0.dsp - should I put TES-6.0 here?
User - network user that is a Super user in Tidal? aka networkname\superuser?
pwd - windows pwd for that user?
Thank you for any help you can provide.Hi Patricia,
1. The Transporter is installed on the Client Manager - the CM is essentially a web server to handle client requests, perform sacmd commands, and utility for transporting jobs from one environment to another. A Tidal user would have to be granted rights to Move Jobs to Production, and I believe Tidal user has to be able to sign on to the CM as well.
2. I've reviewed an older copy of the transporter user guide 6.1 provides instructions on how to complete those fields:
To create a connection: (on page 32)
In the Connection Name field, enter the name for the connection file.
In the Server Name field, enter the name of the Client Manager machine.
In the DSP/Plugin Name field, enter the master instance name.
The master instance name is the TES DSP or Plugin name. This is displayed from the Web UI in the Master Status pane.
In the Server Port field, enter the listening Web Service port used by the Tidal Web Client. The default is 8080 for non-secured connections and 8443 for secured connections.
In the User and Password fields, enter a valid Enterprise Scheduler user name and password.
Select the Secure HTTP option if you want to connect securely through the HTTPS protocol.
This option is enabled only if Transporter has been configured for secure
connections. Figure 8 is an example of Transporter not configured for secure
connections.

Transport Basics: Can you explain this to me?
Hello Experts,
In Transport Organizer: Requests (se09), I double clicked on a Transport request and I could see a display of the Transport Request number (Request/Task: BWIK ..) and 3 tabs (Properties, Objects, Documentation).
1. Under Objects tab I see InfoArea, InfoObject, info Catalogue Are these the referring to object grouped in the transportable package?
The Status of each of them was Object Locked, what is the significance of this status?
2. On double clicking the InfoObject, (ZCO_AREAS) from this list, I see a long list of infoobjects consisting of Table Names, Tale Keys, and A or A*. Can you help me interpret this information?
3. On double clicking on the first (table name: RSDATRNAV) from the list, it gives
the Display Key for Table RSDATRNAV
Med. Field label | Field Name | T.. | Length | Key Value
Characteristic | .
Version |
Attribute |
If these are field names in the table RSDATRNAV, why is it listing e.g. Attribute?
When I double click on Characteristic from this screen, it brings another screen and it kept going.
Can you help me interpret the above screen and what is going on?
4. On the other hand, if I double click on the Transport Request number (Request/Task: BWIK ..) I get Display key for Table with this info:
Med. Field label | Field Name | T.. | Length | Key Value
| DIMID | I | 4 |
| TCO45 | C | 5 |
| TCO46 | C | 3 |
And when I click on e.g. TCO45, it brings a screen and it continues even much longer until a point when I get No next object exists with keys
I will appreciate if you could help me to understand what is taking place. Please in your explanation touch on the tables and keys.Amanda,
Its the contents of your transport requests, the name and properties of objects which you were trying to transport to next level. The objects will be on lock to break this lock then you have to go to SE03 click unlock object then mention your transport request then go with unlock. If you want to delete any object in your transport then first you have to unlock the request then you will be able to delete the object.
BWIK is nothing but your transport name, its start with that name.
Everything which you mentioned as question is properties.
Once you release the request then it will display you the status. Is the transport moved to quality or to production all the details.
Hope its help.
Please let me know if you need anything more.
Thanks
Ram

Route determination problem in Stock transport order
Hi,
At present,i am using the plant 0001 and storage location 0001.It is determining the Route as 000001.When i changed it in STO to 000002.It is automatically coming back to old one.
How to change it to 000002?
If we need to any customizing, please tell me the path.
Thanks
SriniThe correct route should be maintained in the customizing for the departure country and the receiving country with the shipping conditions and transportation zone etc.
You need to define this in customizing under logistics execution > transportation > Basic transportation functions > Routes > Route determination > Maintain route determination.
Check the route here. Also check the route whici defined in your related customer master data -
Process flow For Transportation
Hi:
I would really appreciate if You could send me process flow from delivery creation to freight cost settlement in SAp. I want to understand how it works in SAP. Is freight PO generated for each shipping document? Is it manual or automatic process. Also would like to have config behind transportation,
ThanksHi Dev,
Process flow for Transportation planning
Delivery(After picking and Before PGI)(VL01N) >Shippment document(VT01)>Shipment cost document(VI01)
If do the transfer in the shipment cost document automatically service PO will be created based on the PO Invoice will be created automatically.
Manually also you can process PO and Invoice based on the configuration settings.

Advantages of CTS+ over File system transport
Hello experts,
I have searched a lot on SDN ,but couldn't find a document which exactly explains the advantages and disadvantages of CTS+ over File system Transport basically a table with points and the status of those points with CTS+ and File System Transport.
Can you please help.
Best Regards,
ShwetaThe enhanced Change and Transport System (CTS+) enables you to transport Portal/Java objects and SAP-related non-ABAP applications in your system landscape, along with your ABAP objects. You can also administer non-ABAP systems in a CTS transport domain in SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/45/ec25370fdc3481e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
You can integrate NWDI with CTS+ and have the transports moved through CTS+.
Also, you utilize CTS+ for portal related transports as well.
To start with, have a look at the following How to guides:

- On 10.1.2.3 + MLR#5
Is anything else that I can check in B2B or in the trading partner?
Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks.
ItaloHi,
Exception message looks like B2B trying to send messages to unsupported version of SFTP. You may need to check with your trading partner on SFTP version and the SFTP product name also help here to narrow down this.
Thanks,

Error in transport while importing in my BI production.. plz help
Hi ,
I have a strange issue when I am trying to import a transport in my BI production with options as "Overwrite Originals" & "Overwrite Objects in unfinished repairs".
In Quality there is no issue present with the transport but where as the same failed in production with the below error message.
in STMS:
Program terminated (job: RDDEXECL, no.: 15232100)
With the return Code: 12.
When I look at the log of the job: here is the summary:
ABAP/4 processor: SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC the logs shows that it has failed with the this error (dump) message.
I have searched for OSS notes and other information but still there is no update on this kind of issue.
Thanks
AshwiniHi,
In Production server goto STMS_IMPORT and tehn Identify the RED request and then goto Log and see the details and find the reason and correct it and again transfort the dependencies first then transport this object.
Note: Transports basically fails, because of its dependencyies are not present in Production, so first Transport the dependecies then transport the main obejcts.
Don't mix all obejcts in single request.
First Transport the Package then
1. InfoObejcts.
2. Cubes, DSO's
3.DataSources from ECC Dev to ECC Qty
4. DataSource Replication in BW Qty
5. InfoSources.
6.Transformations in between DataSource and InfoSource.
7.Transformations in between InfoSource and InfoCube/DSO.
8. DTP's & InfoPackages.
9. Multiproviders/InfoSets.
10. Reports.
Thanks

Configuration steps of transportation
sir,
Sir,
I have searched the configuration step of transportation in this forum, but i couldn,t able to under stand the steps.
Kindly give me the configuration steps of transportation and shipment cost settlement.
This will helps me alot
thankHi,
Transportation process as follows
Maintain transportation planning point through Menu as follows:
SPRO ->transportation->Enterprise Structure-> Definition->Logistic Execution ->Maintain planning point.
Create your own
Defining modes of transport:
SPRO->Routes -> Logistic Execution Define modes of Transportation ->Transportation Functions ->Define routes->transport
Use the standard like:
Shipping type: 01
Description: Road
Define shipping types : (SM30)
SPRO-> Define shipping types->Logistic Execution-> Transportation->Transportation Functions->Route
PT: 01
Description: Truck
Mdtr: 01
STPG: 0001
Define transportation connecting point :
BasicRoutes IMG DefineLogistic Execution Define transportation Transportation Transportation Functions routesconnection points
Copy the std point and make it FB01 as departure zone and FB02 as destination zone
Define routes and stages.
BasicRoutes  Define routes IMG Define Logistic Execution  Transportation routes and stagesTransportation Functions
Use the standard route and copy it as FB0001 and enter the departure zone and destination as what we created.
Defining Transportation Zone:
SPRO->Define transportation->Logistic Execution-> Transportation->Basic Transportation Functions zones-> Route->Router determination
Use the standard transportation zone depending on the route so as for the example use 0000000003 - Southern Region
Maintain country or transportation zone for shipping points
Route determination
SPRO->Logistic Execution ->Transportation Maintain country and-> Basic Transportation Functions->Route transportation zone for shipping point
Shipping point be ASH1 and route as 0000000003 which is assigned to country India
Maintain route determination:
Basic Route SPRO->Logistic Execution Maintain route-> Transportation->Transportation Functions->determination
Country of departure: India
Departure Zone: 0000000003
Country of destination: India
Destination Zone: 0000000003
And enter the datas needed like shipping condition 01, etc.
Maintain Transportation relevance for shipping point, sales document type and delivery types.
Now create shipping types
IMG Define Logistic Execution types Transportation  Shipments shipment
Copy the standard 0001 and make it to AFIL
10) Define and assign traffic zones through T-Code: T_76 (or) thru menu as follows
BasicIMG Define Logistic Execution and assign Transportation  Shipments cost functions tariff zones
Copy the standard and make it to FABTARIFF and assign our transportation planning point as ATP1, ATP2 assign tariff zone to every particular transportation planning point
11) Define and assign pricing procedures
IMG define and Logistic Execution  Transportation Shipments cost procedures Pricing  Price control assign pricing
Copy the standard shipping cost pricing procedure SDFC00 to FBSC01
12) Assign purchasing data:
IMG Assign purchasing data Logistic Execution  Transportation Shipments cost Settlement
13) Assign transportation planning point to shipping condition, purchase organization, purchasing group and to plants.
14) Define Automatic G/L account determination:
 IMG Automatic G/L Account Determination Logistics Execution Transportation Shipment CostsSettlement
Or through T-code: OMWB
Use G/L account 614000 as used in standard
15) Automatic determination of CO assignments:
Transportation Shipment Costs  Settlement IMG Automatic Logistics Execution Determination of CO Assignments
Or T-code: OKB9
16) Maintain shipping point address.
 Logistics Execution  Enterprise Structure Define, copy, delete, check shippingDefinition point
17) Creating G/L account centrally.
Financial  General Ledger  Master Records Accounting Accounting
Individual Processing Centrally
Or through T-Code: FS00
18) Enter the G/L account 614000 to the company code AFIL
19) Create transportation condition records:
Master data Transportation  Shipment cost  PricesLogistic Execution create
Or thru T-code: TK11
Enter condition type FB00 that is freight condition type, which is used as standard in the shipping cost pricing procedure.
Enter the price and save it
Process:
1. The system determines the pricing procedure for the shipment cost item-using transportation planning point, service agent and shipment cost item category
2. Calculation Basis
3. Condition Record
4. Access sequence.
For the sales order, create a delivery using VL01N and pick the goods. Now create a shipment using VT01N and assign the delivery to the shipment document. Make sure to enter the carrier and other details before performing the transportation planning and execution. Save the shipment document and PGI for the delivery would be done automatically.
A shipment represents a physical goods movement between two or more locations.
For the system to create a shipment, shipping-relevant deliveries must exist.
You use Transportation Planning to group pending deliveries into shipments and then to perform the shipments.
The outbound delivery documents contain routes that the system calculates in route determination, and a transportation planning date for the delivery.
Dynamic transportation planning is responsible for grouping together outbound deliveries into shipments that have at least the same route, visit plan type and the same transportation planning date.
The following restrictions can be taken into account for a shipment in Dynamic Transportation Planning:
Weight
Volume
Variable capacity
Number of stops
Maximum duration
Loading units
Create Shipment Document
Use
After the status of the delivery is open for transportation planning, it is possible to create a shipment document to schedule the transportation.
Single document Create Transportation Planning Transportation Logistic Execution Logistics
T.code: VT01n
Enter your transportation planning point and shipment type. Press enter.
Creating the shipment cost document
Use
After the deliveries are scheduled by shipment and the shipment is executed, now it is time to maintain and close the shipment document in order to record all relative information and ready for the shipment cost settlement.
Single document Create Shipment cost  Transportation Logistic Execution Logistics
T.code: VI01.
After creation of shipment cost doc. You settle the Shipment cost.
Go to VI02, enter shipment cost no.and press enter.
Then go to Overview -- Fright cost items, Select the line item and double click it.
Go as main menu: Item --> Acc. assignment, you enter G/L acc. and cost center to which the transportation cost will be posted.
On the Standard change, details Freight cost items screen, then check the check box Transfer, which means you will transfer the relative transportation cost to FI/CO, in this case, the system should determined which Purchase Order will used to settle the cost, so after you check the Transfer check box.
Press save button on the current screen.
Shipment cost settlement and documents:
Use
After the shipment cost settled in shipment cost document, it has the following affects:
It creates a service entry sheet that refers to the purchase order determined.
It posts acceptance of services performed.
It creates an accounting document for the accruals.
Further subsequent documents are created in FI.
Create Delivery:
T.code: Vl01n
Create TO:
T.code: LT03
Create Shipment Document
Use
After the status of the delivery is open for transportation planning, it is possible to create a shipment document to schedule the transportation.
Single document Create  Transportation Planning  Transportation Logistic Execution Logistics
T.code: VT01n
Enter your transportation planning point and shipment type. Press enter.

Generally process is-
1) VL01N
2) VT01
3) VL02N - PGI
4) VI01
5) ML81N Service Entry Sheet
6) MIRO Invoice Verification
Shipping docs (VT01) are created before PGI...
You cannot carry out transportation planning or creation of shipment after the goods issue has been executed. Once goods issue is done it means that the material has left your premises so there is no need for a transportation planning after it.
In case you need carry out the shipment documents at the end of the day you could just create the delivery documents during the day and at end of the day create the shipment documents and the goods issue
Hope this is clear.
