Transport Domain Controller delete

Hello,
I have created a new BI dev system and need to set up the transport connectionns.
I have deleted the TMS for the old BI dev and now try to set it up for the new BI dev.. I assume i first have to delete the setting that the old system is the Transport Domain Controller. How do I do this?
Thanks,
F C

Hi F C,
you can delete the TMS configuration

  • Include a system in two different Transport Domain Controller

    Hi folks,
I s it possible to configure a system in two different transport Domain Controller?
The two domain controllers will be in the same /usr/sap/trans file system.
    thanks,

    Hello Má
Firstly to include system in the transport domain you need to have systems sharing common transport directory. Which you confirmed is the case.
Now when you try to change the Transport Domain of the system to make it part of another system it will overwrite current configuration.
Hence you wont be able to make one system part of two Domains.
There is no workaround available best of my infomation.

  • ChaRM - Support for 46C as Transport Domain Controller

    Good day.
We are currently testing ChaRM with the Transport Domain Controller being on a 46C box. We are getting the following error when trying to create a Task List:
    Function module "TMW_DISPLAY_TRANSPORT_ROUTES" not found.
Is the use of a TDC on 46C supported with ChaRM?
    Thanks,
    Charles.

    Hey Charles,
CHARM can only be implemented on satellite Systems with SAP Version 4.6 C onwards and above...
However, even then domain controller needs to be on 4.7.. i.e it requires WAS 620 aplication server...
Therefore we can conclude that CHARM cannot be implemented with the satellite system you had mentioned above..
    Please Reward for useful points...

  • Transport domain configuration error

    Hi,
We have made a homogeneous system copy of our R/3 production system to create a test system.
The copy has the same SID as the source system and is installed as a local system rather than a domain - this is a Windows environment. The source system is the domain controller for the transport domain.
I have run SE06 in the copied system and am now trying to reconfigure STMS to set it up as a single system in it's own domain.
However, when I go into t/action STMS I am prompted to join the production domain - which I didn't expect, so I select Other configuration and enter appropriate values there but am getting error:-
Local TMS configuration is inconsistent in N3P
    Message number XT 123
Can anybody advise how to resolve this?
    Regards
    Richard

    1. Did you follow changing SID name and post database copy steps at database level first?
    2. If you have done above, I hope you have deleted existing Transport configuration from SE06. If you haven't pls do.
    3. Then,  At transport domain controller, please remove this system ( if this system existed earlier)
    4. Now, try joining domain.
    It should work!

  • Same transport domain. different transport directory, possible?

    Hi SAP folks,
A quick query, I work on multiple systems within a single SAP transport domain. Recently we have requirements to move 2 non-ABAP systems to a different transport directory while keeping the rest intact.
The reason for this is we are doing CTS+ for the 2 non-ABAP system and do not want to share the transport directories for the rest of the ABAP system.
Please advise if this can be done and how?
The following link for SAP suggested that it's possible but stop short of how to do it.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c4/6045377b52253de10000009b38f889/content.htm
Anyone done similar setup? care to share?
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Jansen

    Hi,
You can do this very well. First you should remove the two systems that you wanted to configure for CTS+ from your existing transport domain. To do this, login to your existing transport domain controller and delete the systems you wanted to remove from transport domain.
    To perform this:
STMS --> Overview -> Systems -> < choose the system u want to delete> -> SAP Systems -> Delete. Confirm the deletion and save and activate the changes made to ur configuration.
And then add your Non-ABAP systems you wanted to configure for CTS+ using the domain controller you decided for CTS+.
I hope this help you to perform your action.

  • Need to delete Transport system , which is not domain controller

I need to delete transport system on machine which is not domain controller .
our domain controller system is not avalible now .
how can i delete the transport system on my machine as domain controller system is not avaliable .
Please let me know what can i do ??
    Thanks,
    Asc

    Hi,
Logon to any system which is in your transport path in client 000. Then in stms, go to Overview ---> Systems. Here you can find all the systems in your transport path. You can also find the domain controller which you have configured as before.
Now, goto Extras----> Delete TMS Configuration.
After deleting, logon to system which you want to make as domain controller in client 000. when you execute stms, now it will ask for new stms setup, which you might be aware of.
If you need more guidance, let me know.

  • Can't delete defunct domain controller

I'm the admin of a software test lab.  I had an Active Directory (Windows 2008 r2) domain set up mainly for DNS use on two Hyper-V VMs on separate hosts.  I have had issues in the past after power outages (I don't have the budget for a UPS for
these hosts) where one or the other domain controller would become corrupt, and restoring from backup simply wouldn't work.  So, I got used to rebuilding whichever one failed.  I've had to do it about a dozen or so times, but when we had a power
    outage last Thursday, circumstances changed.
The first DNS server came back up just fine, but the second got corrupted, again.  (Pretty typical issue.  It would only boot to the recovery console.  Trying to use chkdsk /f would result in it telling me there were only 44 files on the C:
drive and nothing to fix.)  I tried to restore it from backup, but, as usual, the host claimed it couldn't read the restore, so I deleted the VM and started over.  I created a new VM and got the OS installed and updated, but I can't delete the old
DC account from the users and computer console or the config from the sites and services console.  Everything tells me "directory object not found."  I wound up renaming the VM and rejoining it that way, but I still can't get that old account
    deleted.
What's worse is that this VM that failed was the global catalog, and AD won't let me reassign the GC role to another DC.  It just doesn't do the role assignment, no error message or event log entry at all.
Anyone else run into this?  Is there a fix?

    Is this the link?
    http://msmvps.com/blogs/acefekay/archive/2010/10/05/complete-step-by-step-to-remove-an-orphaned-domain-controller.aspx
When you try with the GUI (possible since Windows 2008), is there an error message?

  • One Domain Controller, multiple Transport Landscapes - possible?

I would like to have ONE domain controller - configured in Solution Manager - to manage TMS configuration for ECC, BI, etc.  I am looking at this domain controller to be the central point for CTS+ and ChaRM.   This means multiple Development systems and associated Quality Assurance systems.
    DECC -->  QECC -->  PECC
    DBI  -->  QBI -->  PBI
    Is this even possible?
The issue seems to be the standard '/SAP/' transport group for the 'SAP target for Default Layer'.   Is there a way to set up the standard SAP transport group to be uniquely identified in the domain controller if there are multiple SAP components supported by one domain controller?
Thanks in advance for the assistance ...

    Hi Peter,
Thanks for the response.    My concern was the SAP default transport layer.   Another team member and I worked on this in more detail and I was able to successfully a specific SAP default transport layer for each of the Development systems and give each one a unique name.   I created the transport layers and transport groups and STMS accepted them, but we haven't actually used any of this yet so whether or not this is actually successful remains to be seen!    If

  • Deleting a Domain Controller affect programs running by domain users?

    Hello,
I have a server running Windows Server 2008 R2 which has a Domain Controller that was created for tests but was never used. I was told that by creating this DC all users accounts from the local machine are migrated to the domain and deleting it also wipes
all these accounts. The problem is that I have some programs that are run by those users accounts, I would like to know what happens to these programs if I delete the DC causing the accounts to be delete. Do these accounts are converted to local machine accounts?
What happens to the users folders?
    Thanks,

you can change the computer from join domain to workstation, then monitor what happen...
don't delete the DC suddenly. if really dont need this DC, change computer to workstation and demote

  • Findout previous deleted domain controller computer name frome SID

    Hi
I recently suspicious that some one in my company join new additional domain controller  to my primary DC and after replication and get the domain controller partitions ,he disjoint the new additional dc .
I got the his event in my dns log :
The DNS server was unable to create a resource record for  d630907c-e2f4-41cf-a2c6-adc087f25f46._msdcs.metro.com. in zone metro.com. The Active Directory definition of this resource record is corrupt or contains an invalid DNS name. The event
    data contains the error.
I want to translate the DNS alias sid :d630907c-e2f4-41cf-a2c6-adc087f25f46
to computer name in order to find who did this?
is there a way to find out previous DC computer name after hey disconnected or DC computer account deleted?
I wonder to know ho did this?
    Regards

The guid you're referring to corresponds to the NTDS Settings object for the "lost" DC. You can do this in Powershell to get the DirectoryEntry for that guid:
    [adsi]"LDAP://<GUID=d630907c-e2f4-41cf-a2c6-adc087f25f46>"
However, if the object has been deleted, you need to perform another query (in Powershell as well):
    $guid = ([guid]"d630907c-e2f4-41cf-a2c6-adc087f25f46")
    Get-ADObject -SearchBase "DC=metro,DC=com" -IncludeDeletedObjects -Filter { objectGuid -eq $guid }
Note that by default you need to be a member of Domain Admins or Administrators to be able to query AD for deleted objects.

  • Can account SUPPORT_388945a0 be deleted from domain controller?

    Hi Guys,
I see that there have an account "SUPPORT_388945a0" has been created on domain controller automatically. Can we delete it safety?
    Thanks,
    OCS User

Actually that statement is incorrect. AD (or more specific the DSA/DC) can request that a set of default accounts and groups are to be created, this is for example used when you introduce a DC with a new NT version in a domain (This is independent on DFL/FFL)
their is different “default” accounts and groups defined for example Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
The introduced DSA with a new NT version calls the operational attribute runSamUpgradeTasks, the conditions for this operation and the accounts and groups will create in the domain are outlined here:

This can't be automatically, as there is no way AD can create account until its been automated using script or some other tools. I have seen few groups created automatically during application installation, would suggest don't delete it immediately, might
create an issue, if used for authentication as an service. Disable it & then check the impact to proceed further.

  • Rebuilding Domain controller & Transport Routes after system refresh

I have refreshed Dev from Prdn, now my domain controller only shows single system
I have documentation but, it is confusing to me how to have QAS and Prdn join the domain controller again and show the domain as a three tier system
When I log into QAS and Prdn I still see the old 3 tier system including the domain and the other systems.
    Please advise

You don't perform backup of domain controller.
You only designate in STMS one of servers as "Backup Domain Controller"
when Primary  controller fails than "Backup domain Controller" takes his role and becomes a primary.
So action to refresh domain controller is:
    1. Designate one of servers as backup domain controller
    2. Backup transport directory if it is on refreshed server (just in case)
    3. Switch backup controller to become primary
    4. Refresh primary system
    5. Join refreshed system to domain
    6. Switch back primary function to refreshed server

  • Shutdown 2003 domain controller, Used new different name; same IP address on new 2012 DC - can I delete the old name object?

    Greetings,
I promoted a 2012 domain controller, with new name and IP,   shutdown the old DC and re-ip'ed new DC with old IP address.
after reboot everything is working fine.  I would like to deleted the old DC object name from the AD.  can I do so without interruption?
    Thank you

Demotion using DCPROMO would have been the preferred way to go.
You should however be able to get away with deleting the computer object for the old DC using AD Users and Computers.  The metadata cleanup is now included in the modern UI, so you shouldn't need to use NTDSUtil to do the cleanup of references to the
    old DC.
I would also manually remove the NS record for the old DC from your DNS zone(s) as this is not handled by the object deletion.
Also, have a good look through the DNS records anyway and see if there are any references to the old name (A, SRV records) and delete them manually if you find some.
