Transport Scenario

Hi, I need some help with a transport scenario. If I have a Role with 10 worksets attached and I attach another workset that already exists in DEV and TEST....
What is the simplest way to transport the change correctly to the next environment?
I ask this because if I create a transport and export it, it creates an epa file with all of the related objects which is WAY more than I need to transport. and I can't see going through this huge list to exclude things.
Also, I've been told about the 'resolve references and selecting no to create a smaller package, but I don't think doing this would bring over the Role as it is in Dev with the new workset. Can anyone help to clarify creating transports to send just what I need?

Hi Juan, thanks for the reply, but I think I might have not been clear. I'll try again.
Say I create a new role in DEV with 10 existing worksets to it. The Worksets already exist in DEV and QA. Now I want to transport this role to QA in the most efficient way.
1. When I export just the role it generally goes out and collects everything for transport including all of the worksets, pages, iviews etc that belong to the worksets. But I don't want to send all of this extra baggage over since it is soooo many objects.
2. I found the "Resolve References" setting on the Transport package. Would just sending the role over with this setting accomplish what I'm looking to do?
What is the recommended way to send over this new Role efficiently and without bringing over all of the baggage which might not be ready or I do not want to go over?

Hello,
I have scenario from R\3 to BW
When I try to export the scenario to the xi production environment I have a problem-
In the design part is work Ok
In directory part I have a problem.
The .tpz file crate with BW dev system and I cannot succeed importing the .tpz file to xi production environment.
I received the follwing message:
Business system BWD100 is not assigned a business system in group XI_PRD
Any advice?

But, if you want to use another Business system Name in production.
in that case, create the new Business system and the realted integration server for this would be the production integration server and then go to the Dev / QA Business system that has to be replaced with this Business System , chosee Transports and assign the new Business System as the Target Business System.
Now when importing the TPZ file the business system name will point to the production business system as needed.

Procurement - transportation combined scenario DUMP

Hello experts,
In this moment i am configurating a procurement scenario, first i customize the 5 standard expected events and 3 unexpected events, i can check this in EM system in /SAPTRX/EH_LIST transaction.
In this case i made the following configurations in the application System:
I. BF11 -> Activate PI-EM
II. Define EM System, logical system and RFC connection
III. ESC_PURORD the only BPT with EH Create. I define only one AOT, associated to ESC_PURORD (PCM10_ITEM), in the other cases, I define only Event Types. In the application object type only change the event manager and the relevance function.

In the Event Management system i made the followings configurations:
I. BF11 -> Activate APO-EM
II. Define Application System, logical system and RFC connection
III. RFC NONE connection to the central alert server
IV. Assign PCM10_DF activity in the EH Upd.Acty 2 field of the Event Handler type (PCM10_ITEM).
V. Assign profile to mapping area (SAPR3 ; PCM10_ITEM ; PCM10_ITEM).
VI. Assing the followings alert framework parameters (PCM10_ASN and PCM10_REC_PART_GOODS).
After of this, i try to configure a transportation scenario, that combine with my actual procurement scenario like the standard propose (according with the Inbound delivery - Inbound Shipment scenario), i made the following configurations:
I. I had to activate the "transportation relevance" for delivery type EG (Rough GR) and EL (Inbound Delivery) in the logistics execution configuration.
II. ESC_SHIPMT wih EH_Create
III. Cause the inbound shipment has shipment class 0010, the standard relevance conditions don´t have included this type (include 0003, 0004, 0005 and 0006). Cause of that i create Z conditions with 0010 shipment type:
            ZTRA10_DLV_SHTYP_ROA    -> TRA10_DLV_SHYTP_ROAD     <- Relevance for AOT.
            ZTRA10_SHTYP_ROAD      -> TRA10_SHTYP_ROAD                  <- Relevance for AOT
            ZTRA10_SHTYP_ROAD      -> TRA10_SHTYP_ROAD                  <- Relevance for Event Type
IV. I modify the followings parameters:
           Info parameter list -> DELIVERY_VOLUME and DELIVERY_WEIGHT (from N to C in Data Type field).
           Control parameter list -> SHIPMENT_TYPE (From 2 to 4 in Length field).
This modification was made according a verification in the Transaction /SAPTRX/EH_CONSISTENCY_CHECK.
In SAP Event Management System:
I. I create Event handler type conditions (ZTRA10_DELIV and ZTRA10_ROAD) according with the relevance functions mentioned before and assigned these to the event handlers types (TRA10_DELIV and TRA10_ROAD).
II. Assign TRA10_DF_C (Combined process, acording with procurement settings) activity in the EH Upd.Acty 2 field of the Event Handler type (TRA10_DELIV and TRA10_ROAD).
III. Assign profile to mapping area (SAPR3 -> TRA10_DELIV, TRA10_ROAD and TRA10_SEA AOT and Mapping profile).
AFTER OF ALL THIS CONFIGURATION SHOWED, I CREATED A SCENARIO TO TEST THE CONFIGURATION:
I create:     Purchase Requistion
          Purchase Order
          Inbound Delivery
          Shipment (Without any execution).
The overall status its 0 (Zero) cause EM don´t see them. Now i´m going to VT02N transaction and modify the execution (insert planning Date), the overall status Change to 1.
After I proceed to save the change in the shipment, but the system show me a DUMP.

An ABAP consultant help me to identify the debuging and there are my conclusions:
PROGRAM -> /SAPTRX/SAPLIP_TRA_PAT
FUNCTION -> /SAPTRX/XIP_LE_DELIV_TRA10
The point where the program failed was (i attached the code):
     Get Sales order header----
     READ TABLE lt_vbkd ASSIGNING - vbeln_vauf show me the Purchase order number (4500090940 in this case), but the program looking for VBKD table and the PO Number never will be there.
- How the system Take the purchase Order Number???
- What configurations can I check to correct this????
- In the transportation scenario what other point I don´t configure and it´s necessary.
In addition when i check the SLG1 transaction, the system show me the followings error messages:
1. Referencing of main and master table fields LIPSVB - LIKPVB failed (Message no. /SAPTRX/ASC039)
      what happened in the AOT, what configuration could failed?
2. Event type TRA10_ROAD not relevant for object ESC_SHIPMT (Message no. /SAPTRX/ASC079)
       Condition ZTRA10_SHTYP_ROAD for event type TRA10_ROAD was determined to be false for event ESC_SHIPMT.

ID transports via CMS

Hello,
I have CMS transport question related to ID on XI. The CMS transport environmnet is setup as follows.
DEV -
QA -
PROD
We are using XI 7.0, SP11 and CMS is on SP11
We configured a scenario on Dev environment and transported configuration scenario with all objects. Our basis team released the transport and now it is available on QA environment. When we checked QA enviroment we got transported scenario with all objects. We transfered all objects and tested successfully.
Now we want to release transport to PROD. Our admin assembled package and resleased to PROD environment. When he was assembling package used "Same Support Package number as the last Support Package number" option. This option is supposed to assemble only changed items since last assembly. We do not have option to disable "Assemble all components"(per user guide).
Interstingly When I look in ID, found all objects that have ever been transported including objects released about 6 months back. I do not want to assemble and release transports that were already released 6 months back.

Thank you for the response. After I read VJ response I am not sure if it really addresses our problem.
As you know in the current issue every ID object from QA moved to PRD via CMS transport, I tried to activate only those configuration scenarios and all objects related to scenarios we are interested.
I got following error .
"Unable to move object. Change lists were not part of same import."
I made sure in all communication channels, all required fields have values filled in and saved before activating. I searched SDN for the error message and found couple of responses. They also suggested to fill in all required values in the communication channels.
Any suggestions or comments? I appreciate your help.

Transportation EE ARRIV_DEST and DEPARTURE donu00B4t reflect Event Date

We are defining a transportation scenario combined with delivery. In this order, we work with TRA10_DELIV and TRA10_ROAD AOT and EH.
We define the following events on our scenario:
ARRIV_CARR     Carrier arrival
LOAD_BEGIN     Loading Begin
LOAD_END     Load End
DEPARTURE     Departure
ARRIV_DEST     Arrival at Destination
When we create the Delivery the events don´t generate Expected Event Date, ok there is no problem, when we create the shipment the system used the Expected Event Extractors /SAPTRX/XEE_LE_DELIV_TRA10 and /SAPTRX/XEE_LE_ROAD_TRA10, and assign the Expected event date:
ARRIV_CARR     Carrier arrival          -> Check-in planning date in shipment
LOAD_BEGIN     Loading Begin          -> Loading start planning date in shipment
LOAD_END     Load End          -> Loading end planning date in shipment
DEPARTURE     Departure          -> Start planning date but at detail stage level
ARRIV_DEST     Arrival at Destination     -> End planning date but at detail stage level
When we modify the shipment Overall status, the first three expected event, reflect in /SAPTRX/EH_LIST the reported event date and time, taken from the execution date of the shipment.
However for the events DEPARTURE and ARRIVE_DEST, the dates don´t actualize, even when we modify at shipment stage level the execution dates. When we verify the Event Data Extractor function TRA10_ROAD (/SAPTRX/XET_LE_ROAD_TRA10), and this function only show the events ARRIV_CARR, LOAD_BEGIN and LOAD_END.
For the events DEPARTURE and ARRIV_DEST, what function we can use to reflect the EVENT DATE AND TIME?

It is easy.
Please consider the following, you customizing need to be part of "development class" / package.
Package is then part of transport layer.
If transport request is release then it will be added to import queue of QTY system.
At QTY you just need to set up STMS transport job, it is done through the stms queue of system QTY, import ALL "big car" and after choose periodic.

IS-OIL TD - bulk transportation using Plant intransit.

I need an advice on using TD bulk transportation scenario (IS-OIL).
We are implementing industry solution "SAP for Mining" in our company. I'm trying to setup TD bulk transportation using intransfer plant. But I can't use Plant from Vehicle master data (trn O4V2) if it is differs from the Loading plant. It is possible to use intransit storage location only. Business requirement is to create transfer postings from Loading plant to Intransit plant during Load confirmation.
Does anybody knows how to reach this requirement? I'll appreciate any ideas!

Hi Vadim - Under the two plant to plant config under MM - Transaction OMGN tou will see that can activate the tick for one step. if it is activated you the system will then post a 647 movement for the outbound delivery e.i. issue the product from plant and receive it in the to plant at the same time.
transaction flow.
1.) Create a plant to plant PO. ME21N
2.) Create a outbound delivery VL10D
3.) Post Goods Issue (with the indicator set for the one step the system will post a 647 movement (from plant / to plant in one step instead of two step, 641 , 101)

Transport request and task releasing?

Hi all,
I've three systems dev,QA and prod.I'm working on dev client and I've a two reports(say A and B) under the same transport request with different tasks,If I want to release the report 'A',is it necessary that I shud be releasing th ewhoel request number or if I release the task it's enough.why a transport request will have different tasks,when the transportationof ht ese taks associated with the transport request is independent.
I've released the task to QA and the QA sytem had some problem and did nto get he task,what I shud be doing now,release the task again or ?
Can a report be assigned to different tasks(numbers) under the same transport request.can the report be assiged to different transport requests.please let me know.

There is a transport route defined by your Basis Team for the transport scenarios. There, the possible ways through which request can be moved( from Dev --> QA & Dev --> Prod ) are defined.
But it does not mean that you can't transport your request to production without transporting it to QAS.
Furher, when you release a transport request, it does not automatically move to QAS or Production but someone from your Basis Team has to run the TP through Xn STMS, which in turn imports the objects from your Dev Request and put it on QAS / Production.
In case of any error encountered while importing to let's say QA, you need to check whether it's a problem with the transport buffer or is it because some objects are missing from the transports or dependent transports are not moved as yet.
Please understand that there is no concept of re-release.
You can only ask your Basis guy to re-import it.
According to the encountered problem, you need to decide whether you should just ask you Basis consultant to re-import the same Transport.
Or create a new request through SE10, and include all the objects from your last request. Release it and ask your Basis guy to import it to QAS.
Or first move the dependent transport and then ask your Basis guy to re-import your current transport.
Or create and group the changed objects, altogether in a new transport by changing all the objects which were contained in the original request.
Further, to your other queries, if two users are modifying the same program ( not exactly at the same time - that's not possible but one after other )then that program will be contained in two separate tasks of the same transport request.

How to update Back end applications after successful message transport

Hi All,
Currently we have a SOA composite that reads failed messages(Msg type 3) from B2B JMS message queue and updates our business tables of any b2b failures. However we are not sure how to handle successful B2B message transport scenarios.
How back end applications(SOA composite) know b2b messages are handled successfully by B2B? How do we capture this successful scenarios? We don't have ack enabled.

However is there any push mechanism from b2b for this scenario.Option#1-
B2B pushes messages details to BAM AQ (B2B_BAM_QUEUE in SOAINFRA schema) from where BAM picks up the details and uploads in it's data objects. If you are not using BAM then you may receive messages from this AQ. This is again a batch job and it is controlled by below two parameters -

BAM Polling Interval

Option#2 -
Write your own DB job which pulls details from B2B_INSTANCEMESSAGE view and pushes it for you at desired location.
Only batch job is suitable for this scenario because B2B uses different set of intermediate states while message processing whereas you are only interested in one terminal state (MSG_COMPLETE)

Error while Processing Replenishment Delivery

I have maintained the Vendor- Plant assignments and other IMG settings and created a Purchase Order as wel.
While processing the RD via VL10G, am getting the error as below
" 4538190290 000000 Document is incomplete: You cannot save the delivery"

Business Service and logical system naming criteria across environments

Hi !
Imagine this scenario: File-XI-IDOC. There is a file server where files are uploaded by a legacy application. XI polls that directory, converts the file to IDOC and sends it to R/3.
R/3 is a production business system, for example "R3_PROD", the file server is a business SERVICE, because of its abstract nature.
Is it ok to give that business service a name such as "BS_FileServer" and then create the logical system "LS_FileServer" in R/3, to be able to receive IDOCs from the sender business service?
If we need to use 3 different file servers, one for development, one for test and another for production...is it ok to create the business service in each integration directory with SAME name, and the 3 logical systems with same name in each R/3 receiver...because creating business services as "BS_FileServer_DEV", "BS_FileServer_TEST" and "BS_FileServer_PROD" we imagine that could give us problems when transporting scenarios from dev to test, and from test to prod...because we will need to recreate the whole scenario using the new object denomination.. e.g. a scenario including BS_FileServer_DEV in development is called BS_FileServer_TEST in test..or worse..we could have the BS object transported and as a result we would have a BS_FileServer_DEV object in integration directory of our test environment...
Is this the right path?

Hey,
When a technical system is defined for a product / s/w comp version we also enter the parameter for logical system name. If a buisness system is defined for a technical system then it in turns refers to the technical system with buisness system assigned to it.

As per file to idoc scenario where <b>BUSINESS SERVICE</b> is used it doesn't refer to technical landscape so there is no question of Business system. With relevance to transports.
With File -XI-Idoc scenario the concept of logical system only comes into picture if we have a integration process also involved in the scenario. Where in adapter specific identifiers we specify the logical system name of the sender file system.
Integration Repository.
1) The Software Component version need to be same in all the landscapes that is a prerequisite else transport will fail.
Integration Directory:
2) Assuming that transport is being done for all the objects under a service and the objects has been transported to the test landscape business service with same name will be create in test sys only address and access parameters that have to be entered again and the change list has to be activated.
I haven't tried exporting individual object from ID so no clue.

Where you are facing this issue? In PROD or QA?
Did you tried to remove the locks, and re-activate it? I would say go to SM12 in Abap stack and check what's the corresponding object got locked! But before doing it, please let us know that u r not doing this in PROD. Coz, I don't want to suggest you this approach in PROD.

Error getting the server-side naming service functionality

Hi all,
we are currently setting up the CTS+ activity based transport scenario. Everything seems to be working fine, however, we have to import each transport twice...
Before I go into detail in the error we get I will first describe our landscape. All the configuration we did was done in debate with SAP.
We use the SAP Solution manager (ehp1 SP 4) as the CTS+ server as recommended by SAP and have an NWDI system of which we only use the components DTR and CBS (since CMS is not used anymore in the activity based transport). We have defined three logical ports/RFCs. CTSCONFIG points to the NWDI system. CTSDEPLOY is running on the java stack of the solution manager and is only used for portal content (=epa) transports. CTSDEPLOY_DI is pointing to the NWDI system and is used for all NWDI (=dip) changes. The NWDI is running ehp1 SP3.
In STMS I defined all the non-abap systems (and configured them to use CTSDEPLOY_DI) and created the following transport route:
upload system (IMP) -> DEV -> ACC -> QAS -> PRD
I first attached the used dependencies in a transport request (SAP_BUILDT, EP_BUILDT, etc) these imported just fine. Then I did the SCA files which contain our custom code. I extracted these from the assemble step on our current NWDI system which will be removed as soon as we switch to the new CTS+ environment.
When we import the transport into the runtime systems then we see the DTR and CBS be filled sucesfully for this specific system. However, the transport request itself always fails with errorcode 12 and the error is:
Error during export service registration: Error getting the server-side naming service functionality during getInitialContext opera
tion. com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NamingException: Error getting the server-side naming service functionality during getInitialContext operation.
Error in execution of Web services CTSDEPLOY_DI , exception is cx_cts_file_import_failed
File import canceled
When we then reimport the same transport it will go the second time fine. This is no problem during the setup but will not be workable when we go live ofcourse. Is there anyone who had this issue before as well and have a solution for it?

I would need the java trace files to get more info on this issue, but you can start troubleshooting this error with these notes:
#1172252: CTS+, 'attach file': Troubleshooting Guide;
#1003674: Enhancement for non-ABAP systems in CTS;
#1155884: CTS+, configuration 'close coupling': Troubleshooting guide;
Pay special attention to parameter NON_ABAP_WBO_CLIENT, whether it's correctly set on your CTS+ system(s).
Note #1003674 is a must for any CTS+ systems to work properly, as well as having an updated version of the transport programs (tp and R3trans).

Report at material level from Quantity pending

Hello experts,
I have the following issue, we need a Reporting to show at material level (The report, has to see like /SAPTRX/EE_OVD_LIST, i mean a list), the quantity pending for Goods receipt, by example in the case of a procurement scenario, and the quantity (at material level) pending for Departure in the case of a delivery in a transportation scenario .
I mena by example, the material 1234ABC has pending for GR 400 Units from P.O. 4500100 and GR 300 Units from P.O. 4500250.
I analyzed the following transactions without obtaining the expected result:

Try this:
Take two more KFs in the cube.
1) Creation Date as KF
Type: Date
Exception aggregation : First value
Aggregation reference : 0material.
2) Issue Date as KF
Type: Date
Exception aggregation : Last value
Aggregation reference : 0material.
In the query take 0material in rows and above 2 KF in the columns (May be , here , you need restriction also. 'Creation Date as Characterstic' > 01.01.1000 ,Issue Date as characterstic' < 31.12.9999 )

How to temporarily disable Charm?

Hi.
We have scheduled a system upgrade of the Solution Manager machine, causing a downtime of two complete days. In these two days it must still be possible to develop and transport customizing/workbench content in the satellite system landscapes which are connected to the Solution Manager Charm.
What are the necessary steps to allow the traditional transport scenario without Charm control?
Where can I setup that users may create transports without the need of entering a project?
Any hints to consider?

The project status switches in Solution Manager control which operation is possible in component system.
and
SE03 -> Display/Change Request Attributes (SAP_CTS_PROJECT) controls if project assignment is mandatory for that system/client.
