Trash icon always shows empty and now I am getting error code -1407
Hi all,
I recently noticed that my trash icon was always showing empty even though I had plenty of files in it. I read in the forums that I should run a repair permissions on my harddrive so I did and then rebooted, but now when I try to delete something I am getting:
The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -1407).
Can anyone help me please? I'm not very technically minded so I hope there is a way to fix this that doesn't require me fussing with code.

Trash icon always indicates empty
My trash icon no longer indicates when there are files in it. Is there a setting to recover the "trash full" icon?

I just recently purchased an ipod touch second generation and when I sync it with my laptop (hp pavillion g series with windows seven) and it said the driver didnt successfully sync or something like that. Can anyone help?
Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I installed the latest iTunes software on my Dell Windows 7 PC. Durring installation, when it got to the "Starting Services" part, I got an error message:
iTunes
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Devices) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient priveleges to start system services.
Abort Retry Ignore
"Ignore" was highlighted.
I tried "Retry" but same message kept coming up, so I tried "Ignore"
Install completed. But when I tried to start iTunes, I got message:
"iTunes.exe
The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Followed by the message:
"iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)."
I have tried the install procedure (after uninstalling iTunes) several times with the same results. Where do I get the file MSVCR80.dll? How do I get past this?Click here and follow the instructions.

I upgraded to 8.1 and now I keep getting error messages when I try to receive email
One I upgraded I am continually having problems trying to receive email via outlook. An error message appears. Any ideas on how to fix this?
sound like the hard drive is starting to go out. you may want to contact Apple for service and repair options.

HT202213 why did the homeshare icon interupt netflics tv and now I cant watch anything
I dont understand why this homesharing icon service just showed up and now I cant get past it choices state either homeshare or settings? I was watching a series on netflics at home where I dont have access to a computor when this occurred and now I cant see or do anything.I even unplugged our wifi and tv then plugged it all back hoping it was just a cliche.?

Trash can icon always shows as empty after upgrade to 10.6.2
I searched the archives and didn't see any information about this particular situation: my trash can icon always shows as empty even though the trash has items in it.
If I right click on the icon, "Empty Trash" is grayed out, but if I click on the icon I can open the trash can and choose "empty" at the top right of the window. It's not really a big deal, just weird.
Anyone else have this happen?
KimV.K., I hadn't had the chance to try creating a new user account yet, but I just noticed the trash showed it had trash and I right clicked the icon and the empty trash option is now available. I chose empty trash and it worked.
I don't what changed...but it seems to be OK now...

The message icon is not showing in the drop screen of my photos where it says do you want to email, message, assign, use as waller paper etc. it used to show before and now it's not there how can I get it back?
Did this back along to mine. Plug it into itunes on your pc (or Mac) and click on the ipod icon on the left hand side. When the device options come up on the main screen, click on restore. Follow the steps and it should restore to factory settings. If you had icloud activated on the ipod all previous purchases should be in the cloud and ready to download onto the ipod afte rit has been restored to factory settings, otherwise you'll have to download them all again. Hope it helped.

My kid down loaded mackeeper and now I can not get rid of it. I have tried all techniques suggesting on several sites and still can not empty the trash can. keep getting error code -8003. Help.

Toshiba 1TB 2.5 inch External StorE Art HDD doesn't show up in Finder.
The light is on and it hums. Has always worked perfectly and now this. Using it on a 2010 Mac with Snow Leopard 10.6.8tried another cable (from a camera) with no joy. However after turning off TM and searching for the EHD and not finding it, I revisited Disk Utility and can 'see' it there. The bad news is that it says,

We are trying to play playlists and a slideshow from an Apple Macbook wirelessly to the Apple TV. The small, upward arrow icon that appears on the bottom right of the screen (which allows you to pick Computer or Apple TV) doesn't always show up, and therefore, we can't get it to work. Any thoughts?

Again,the trash icon appears as empty again
When I drag an item from a pile to the empty trash, its icon keeps as empty, and "empty trash" is not allowed, not normal nor secure ones. It doesn't happen when the item is from desk or folders. I posted another question in this forum on that issue, and I solved it without realizing how (Now I know for sure it was the re-instalation of the last combo update [MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.7]). Why is it happening againg? How can I avoid it?
By the way, the XLab page doesn't have any info on this specific topic.The problem occurred again. Now I know for sure what solved the problem, it was the re-installation of the last combo update [MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.7]. I posted a new question... no answers yet...

My Ipod-touch was ios5 when I bought. You recommend to upgrade ios6, because set-up icon always shows me "+". For that on facebook I can't see wall photos. So I want my ipod touch to be back as initial version ios5. How can I do? please tell me.
Unfortunately, I don't think it solved the problem. I believed the new iPod thing solved the weird behavior problem, but after that the button stopped working.
