Dear Freinds,
Based on the SAP Best Practices documentation I have done all the basic configurations pertaining to Configuration and was successfull mapping infotype 0017 to employee code.
After that when I have entered all the details in TRIP after clicking on 'Approve' button it is giving error as 'TRIP Schema PL is not allowed'
If you have any solution to this please revert back.

In Travel Mgt we have two ways to get a Trip Number, as it serves a base in the entire Travel Mgt module.
Travel Request: where Employee books his Itinerary details with Trip destinations & Advances with activity types & saves/sends the record. Here system will create a Trip request number.
Travel Expenses: Where Employee Incur's all his expenses for reimbursements to the Trip number which he created during Travel Request.
If Employee doesn't want to create a Travel Request & wants to Incur the Expenses directly into the system. Then he can create directly from PR05 in R/3 or Create Travel Expense Report in ESS.
Selection criteria to create a new Travel Expenses:
1) Trip Schema (Most Important)
2) Click on Create tab
3) Provide Itinerary details
4) Advances can also be given from Travel Expenses
5) Enter Receipts
6) save as draft or send for approval
Now system will create a Trip number & send it for approval. It will be processed based on the std workflows
WS 20000040 - Trip Approval
WS 20000050 - Request Approval
You can create your custom workflow's by copying the std one's based on your requirements.

Oracle TEXT and using 'ABOUT' as a string literal, not a command

We have a context index on a NAME column, and we're getting an error when searching on the string
CONTAINS(name, '%ALL ABOUT TRAVEL%') > 0A query on ALL ABOUT, and ABOUT TRAVEL works, but the entire phrase causes a problem. I've since found that ABOUT is a keyword when using CONTAINS( ).
So, is there a way to escape ABOUT, include it in double quotes, etc, so that it gets treated as a string literal?

Ad-hoc Query - Travel Privilege Field Group

Hi am new to this Ad-hoc Query...
can any body tel me this.
Asia HR is currently using/assigned to AQB : ZHR_UG_01 ABAP Query: User group and AQS: ZHR_PA_ASIA SAP Query: InfoSet which does not include the Travel Privilege Field Group. The same Travel Privilege Field Group is already included in the Global infoset AQB - ZHR_UG_01 - ABAP Query: User group and AQS - ZHR_UG_01 - SAP Query: InfoSet
Please tel me how to create ASIA HR as per the requirement.

Query on travel management

can anybody tell me what is per diem and flat rates in travel mgt? any relevant info on travel mgt will be appreciated.

Per diems / flat rates decide which reimbursement rates are applied by Travel Expenses when the reimbursement amounts are calculated.
For example, your company provides mileage reimbursement for Car at 0.50 per km and Motorcycle at 0.30 per km.
Then depending on travel expense entry ( car or motorcycle ) and the total distance, the travel expense reimbursement amounts will be calculated accordingly.

Traveling down AD OUs, with xMII LDAP Query

Hi,
Now I can get into AD when I run the user list test query:
select sAMAccountName name from cn=Users where objectCategory=user
I get into the basic top level users OU.
I need to get into the OU ProdUsers, as that is where our users are.
OU=ProdUsers,OU=Monterrey,OU=Food,OU=AM,OU=PKG,OU=PROD,DC=Company,DC=biz.
I modified the query tol look like this:
select sAMAccountName name from cn=users, ou=ProdUsers, ou=monterrey, ou=food, ou=am, ou=pkg, ou=Prod where objectCategory=user.
But I am not getting a list of users,
Query test returned the following number of records: 0
and the error is:
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: [LDAP: error code 32 - 0000208D: NameErr: DSID-031001CD, problem 2001 (NO_OBJECT), data 0, best match of: 'OU=ProdUsers,OU=Monterrey,OU=Food,OU=AM,OU=PKG,OU=PROD,DC=Company,DC=biz' ]; remaining name 'cn=users, ou=ProdUsers, ou=monterrey, ou=food, ou=am, ou=pkg, ou=Prod,DC=Company,DC=biz'
From what I found out that this is a groups settings error.
Any idea what that groups setting should look like?

Query does not need a cn=, so it looks like this now and it works
select sAMAccountName name from ou=ProdUsers, ou=monterrey, ou=food, ou=am, ou=pkg, ou=Prod where objectCategory=user

How to create a variable in Bex Query Designer

Hi guys,
I am writing a query for a travel management report using the SAP Standard cube. I would like to restrict the query so it only shows me the last two months excluding the current month. I have checked BI content in RSA1, but I canu2019t find a relevant SAP standard variable that I can use.
Can anyone please tell me if I can create my own? And if so, how I can do this.

so in Query designer go to Default values section.
Bring in Calendar month
right click calendar month
and hit Restrict
now select variable
use standard sap variable Current Month.
hit okey
now select Variable and hit Red button
Result u restricted current month.
in columns bring in keyfigure $
right click and hit edit
bring in time field calendar month
right click and hit restrict
bring in Current month
right click and select - SET OFFSET FOR VARIABLE
select -1
hit okey
repeat the above process
and this time select offset = -2
this way u restricted current month
but displayed last 2 months for keyfigure values.

Problem inserting and querying XML data with a recursive XML schema

The row is successfully inserted as witnessed by the results of row counting. However, I cannot extract data from the table. First, I tried using SqlPlus* which hangs up and quits after a while. I then tried to use SQL Developer, but haven't got any result. Here follow some examples of queries and their results in SQL Developer:

Result : the whole row is returned

now I tried to fully respect the nested structure of description element in order to extract the text portion of <bold> using this query

and also tried to extract the text portion of element <text> using this query

On the other hand, I noticed, from the result of query 1, that the opening tags of elements keyword and bold are encoded as the less than operator "<". This explains why query 3 returns NULL. However, query 4 should display the text content of <text>, which is not the case.
My questions are about
1. How to properly insert the XML data while preserving the tags (especially the opening tag).
2. How to display the data (the text portion of the main Element or of the nested elements).
The problem about question 1 is that it is quite unfeasible to write a unique insert statement because the structure of <description> is recursive. In other words, if the structure of <description> was not recursive, it would be possible to embed the elements using the xmlelement function during the insertion.
In fact, I need to insert the content of <description> from a source table (called category_a) into a target table (+category_b+) automatically .
I filled category_a using the Saxloader utility from an flat XML file that I have generated from a benchmark. The content of <description> is different from one row to another but it is always valid with regards to the XML Schema. The data is properly inserted as witnessed by the "select * from category_a" instruction (500 row inserted). Besides, the opening tags of the nested elements under <description> are preserved (no "<"). Then I wrote a PL/SQL procedure in which a cursor extracts the category id and category name into varchar2 variables and description into an XMLtype variable from category_a. When I try to insert the values into a category_b, I get the follwing error:
LSX-00213: only 0 occurrences of particle "text", minimum is 1which tells that the <text> element is absent (actually it is present in the source table).
So, my third question is why are not the tags recognized during the insertion?

indded, I was using an old version of Sqlplus* (8.0.60.0.0) because I had a previous installation (oracle 10g XE). Instead, I used the Sqlplus* shipped with the 11g2database (version 11.2.0.1.0). All the queries that I wrote work fine and display the data correctly.
I also used the XMLSERIALIZE function and can now display the description content in SQL Developer.

URGENT: Problem with lexical reference in query statement!

I am modifying the seeded Receipt Traveler report.
The query I need to modify is the receipts query (Q_RECEIPTS). The entire query statement for this is a lexical reference - &P_SELECT_RECEIPTS. The actual query is being set in the After Parameter Form trigger. I need to add a few columns to the select clause and tables to the from clause. Modifying the query in the trigger alone did not help. I got the error - REP 0498 "selected columns differ from report definition"
=> How do I add these new columns to the report now? Do I need to put them in the initial value of the parameter &P_SELECT_RECEIPTS?
=> I tried modifying P_SELECT_RECEIPTS, but I get a REP 1070 error saying the file cannot be saved.
=> In addition, P_SELECT_RECEIPTS does not have a from clause, which causes a problem for me, but I am wondering how the report was originally saved
Any help with this rather lengthy question will be greatly appreciated.

Query for BOM Allocations to Master Routes

I just acquired Query Building permissions and the involved transactions in SAP-PP. I have access to the sandbox (QAS) to build them before they go into production. I have a good technical background but never built a query in SAP. I should be able to catch on fairly quick.
**I would like to create a query that reports which material numbers have BOM components that are/aren't allocated. Is this possible where do I start?
**Are there any threads in this forum that show good query information in regards to production versions, master routes, BOMs, etc. that someone can point me to?

I guess this will help you in getting your query set. In case you need to change the field you can do as per your requirement. As told earlier once you are ok with Quickviewer you can convert it to SAP Query from SQ01 transaction.

Travel Management Tables - PTRV_SREC & PRTV_ROT_AWKEY

Hi SAP'ers,
We have a situation where we want to see the full receipt history of our expense postings for travel. Unfortunately PTRV_SREC only shows "final" history and not what may have happened to the receipt from the beginning.
Here's the scenario we see in PTRV_SREC;
I have a expense receipt posted to FI for 400 and PTRV_SREC shows ths amount, 400. The next day the employee goes in and corrects that same receipt from 400 to 100. PTRV_SREC only shows the 100 balance. There is no history of the 400 original posting/receipt.
Now PTRV_ROT_AWKEY shows the receipt movements shown above, 400 to 100, but only in local currency, not in the original receipt currency.
Does anyone know of any PTRV tables that might keep the history and keep it in receipt currency?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and points will be awarded.

You can use the report RPR_TRIP_COST_ASSIGNMENT_DATA or you can create your own query in SQ01 by using the LDB PTRVP as your Infoset base query.

Report on Travel expense trip details

I have been asked to gather information relating to mileage traveled by car, motorcycle and bicycle, and detailing the number of passengers where applicable from Travel expense data. None of the standard reports go down to this level of detail.
I have tried creating a query using the logical database PTRVP to extract this information but the fields such as number of passengers do not seem to be available.
Is this information only held in the TE cluster and I must extract from here?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and rewarded!

I need to programatically retrieve this information on a report rather than a transaction.
I think I now have some code which will work but I was wondering if there is not a standard infoset I could use to get this information from the TE cluster?
