Treasury Management Curriculum Location

On March 29 I sent one of my customers the following information which I cut and pasted from the UA web site. Now I can't find it.
+In the TMP module the students use an ERP system (in this case SAP) to work in the field of Treasury Management. In this module the ERP system used, SAP, is not a goal in itself, but provides a means of experiencing the many aspects of treasury management. The emphasis lies on anything to do with the management of money flows. Tendering, winning orders, purchasing, invoicing, payments and receipts, and reacting to liquidity shortages / surpluses u2013all in different currencies u2013 generate the problems that every treasurer has to deal with.++ In this module, students are appointed as assistant-treasurer in a u201Cgoing concernu201D, DDS Management Consultancy, which uses SAP as administration and information system. The system is already loaded with data such as client and supplier data, accounts receivable and debts, and ledger and bank accounts.
DDS carries out consultancy and training assignments for its clients, and if necessary hires external consultants. DDS acquires its assignments in u201CEurolandu201D and beyond and consultants are employed in various countries.
A great variety of problems are raised with a limited number of assignments. Students must prepare and maintain a rolling liquidity plan, hedge foreign exchange positions, borrow or invest short term, prepare a long-term loan and manage receivables and payables. For this, use is made of what the market has to offer in terms of financial instruments and derivatives: deposits, loans, FRAs, futures, options, swaps, spot and forward transactions, etc.
Use is made of real market rates and prices that can be found in newspapers, on the internet, or possibly by telephoning a bank.
The management of money flows is a hot item for many companies. Good treasury management saves money. Great savings in management and bank costs can be achieved by centralising money flows - millions of euros a year for large multinationals.
Working for some months with DDS as an assistant-treasurer provides a student with some experience in this field at zero cost now, but with a high return in the future.
It is under the Treasury Managemenrt Project (hence the TMP).

  • Serial Numbers in Inventory Management – Warehouse Managed storage location

Serial Numbers in Inventory Management u2013 Warehouse managed storage locations
We want to run inventory cycle at the warehouse for materials. These materials are u2018serial numberedu2019 in the material master. During the initial entry (say GR) of the materials, systems prompt for the serial numbers. At this point, system offers option of assignments of serial numbers automatically.
While running an inventory cycle for warehouse u2013 and posting difference at WM level (LI01), system is throwing error as u201Cmaintain serial number for totol quantityu201D. System does not promt me to enter the serial number for the materials (count) which are found excess/shortage duing the inventory cycle.
Is there any configuration where this scenario can be managed; system should prompt us to enter serial number while posting differenes at WM level (LI20).
    The inventory cycle is -
    1.     Create Physical Inventory Documents - LI01N
    2.     Activate Physical Inventory Document -      LI02N
    3.     Enter Count -     LI11N
    4.     Post Differences at WM level -     LI20
    5.     Post Differences at IM level(If Differences are posted at WM ) -     LI21

Curious to know: The WM Inventory transaction - LI11N - (where we enter physical count. )
    1. Compared to MI04 - IM Inventory Transaction: where a pop-up window asks for serial number of the material.
    2. We expect a similar pop-up at LI11N transaction- where the system should ask serial numbers.
Q.1 How can we achieve this?
Q.2 Will this be a standard SAP practice?  (if we do customizing to get serial nos. pop-up window at LI11N)
    thanks,

  • Integration DMS and TM (Treasury Management)

    Hi all
I need to link DMS to TM (Treasury Management). But I can't find object link for this.
I think I should use ABAP to solve it.
If you know any useful object link or solution for ABAP,  please tell me.
    Regards
    An NLP

    Hi,
in order to create your own individual object and enable the linkage between document info records and the object you have to create an own object type, screens and screen logic.
Maybe it would help to take a standard object (e.g. MARA) and its screens as template for the development of you own object type and the required screens.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Configuration for treasury management

    HI,
can anybody tell me the configuration steps and relating steps for treasury management.

    Hi Anitha
Treasury management is a vast field. You need to be very specific to the area
    Treasury Management basically deals with
    Money market Instruments
    Securities
    Hedging
    Derivatives.
Each of these categories is dealt with in a separate manner. Then we have Analysers. So all these add up to various flavours in Treasury Management.

  • Workflow for Treasury management

    Hi ,
Can anybody tell me how should i configure the workflow for Treasury management ? . Once the below t codes change the mail should go to the Treasurer ?  And here the Treasurer needs to pick up on Roles assigned ..
    For the  t codes TI10 , TI11, TI37 should get triggeted ? .
    Thnaks&regards
    Srinivas

    Hi,
I hope you know the process of modeling a workflow. If not follow the tutorial in the help document:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/fb/135962457311d189440000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
If you have already done some workflow modeling then you can proceed as follows:
    1. Check for any standard events. Go to transaction SWEL and see if there are any events triggered by the standard transaction. If yes then you can build your own workflow for that event.
If there are no standard events then you can raise them from either of the following based on the availability of the same:
    2. Are change documents active? Once you perform the transaction go to transaction SE11 and view the contents of the table CDHDR for the entries with your name as the creator. If the transaction writes a change document then you can trigger off a workflow through an event which is linked to the change document object. For more details go here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c5/e4aeef453d11d189430000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
    3. If the transaction has a status management built in then you can raise through this as well. For more information see this:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c5/e4aed5453d11d189430000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
    4. If you are not lucky in either of the steps below then you need to implements a User Exit or a BADI and raise an event through the function module: SWE_EVENT_CREATE.
    Hope this helps,
    Sudhi

  • Treasury management

    hai,
what is treasury management? is it required for all industries. Please give some idea about it.
    govind.

    Treasury Management includes the following:
    1. Cash and Liquidity Management
    2. Treasury - Transaction Manager which includes the following sub-modules:
          Money Market
          Derivatives
          Foreign Exchange
          Securities
    3.   Risk Management which includes the following sub-modules
          Market Risk Analyzer
          Credit Risk Analyzer
          Portfolio Analyzer
All the above modules are part of Financial Supply Chain Management in ERP 2005(ECC 6.0)
    1. Cash and Liquidity Management - explained
Every corporation wants to meet its payment obligation to its vendors on time. In order to achieve this the Treasurer/CFO should have accurate information about the cash available on hand and the cash which is likely to flow in and out of the organization over a period (say from one day to one year).
In order to get this information SAP introduced the Cash and Liquidity Management module. In this module all information from other modules are collected in a summarized   form so that the Treasurer/CFO can look at them in a way he/she needs for making his decisions of borrowing/investing.
In order to achieve this the following modules should also be implemented:
    Financial Accounting - Banks
The above module covers Electronic Bank Statement,  Lockbox, Check Deposit etc.
    2. Treasury - Transaction Manager - explained
Once the Treasurer has the above report (Cash Position and Liquidity) he/she knows that he/she has 'Excess' cash or he/she is 'short' of cash.
If there is excess cash it is invested in Money Market/Securities etc. and these transactions are managed in the Transaction Manager.
If they are short of cash, then the corporation borrows by either issuing bonds or by borrowing from banks in the form of Facilities and again these transactions are managed in the Transaction Manager.
These transactions (Investment and borrowing) also show up in the Cash Position and Liquidity report once they are entered in the Transaction Manager.
    3.   Risk Management - explained
Once a corporation has Investments/borrowings they are exposed to various risks like Credit risk of the counter-party, Interest rate risk (the risk of interest rate going up or down) and Portfolio risk (the returns on their portfolio may go up or down). IN order to protect the corporation against various risks the company enters into various Derivative transactions like Interest rate SWAP,  Forex Futures, Commodity Futures etc. These transactions can also be tracked within SAP. They can also be analyzed in the Risk management module.
All these modules are linked to the FI module so that all these transactions are posted to FI and the GL is updated automatically. For example if a company invests in an Overnight instrument. This involves an outflow of cash on the day of investment and inflow of cash and interest earned on the maturity date. All these transactions have to be posted to FI to update your GL. Because of the seamless integration of Transaction Manager to SAP FI all the postings happen automatically.
Treasury is a cool module and a consultant in this area has to intereact with the to officials of the corporation like the CFO or the Treasurer. Hence it is very glamorous area to work and also highly paid.
I hope this gives enough information about the Treasury module. If anybody is further interested contact me  at [email protected].

  • PRO & Cons of using treasury management

    Hi,
I am trying to implement the treasury management, could someone tell me the PRO & Cons of using treasury management?
    thanks,
    Liang

    Hi,
Based on the business requirement of the client you can decide upon using the Treasury module. If your client is into Banking or Investment field, then you can certainly go ahead with implementing Treasury as the daily treasury process within a company comprises a wide range of transactions, from determining the current liquidity based on bank account balances (cash position) and open receivables and payables (liquidity forecast), through to manually entering planned payment flows (advices) and carrying out cash concentration (the concentration of several bank account balances onto one target account).
    The main aim is to
1)Ensure sufficient liquidity for all payment obligations that become due.
2)Ensure that the incoming and outgoing payment flows are optimally controlled and monitored.
For additional information on benefits of implementing treasury ,u can refer to the following link:

    Hope this is useful.
