Triggering of maintenance notification automatically

Hi friends,
I have a scenario which needs triggering a maintenance notification automatically. I have 3 measuring points for a equipment. I take measurement readings for these 3 measuring points using 3 measurement docs( say the measurement readings be x, y and z).I need to trigger a notification when (x+y-z)/z >2%. This is very much similar to condition based maintenance where maint. notifications are triggered when the upper or lower limits of the measuring point are reached . But here the problem is
I have 3 measuring points for the equipment and one by one I am creating the measurement docs for the measuring point. The system should calculate using the formula as soon as the last measurement doc is saved and based on the value. ie if >2% trigger a maintenance notification .(The challenge is 3 measurement docs are involved and how to link these 3 measurement docs and calculate value using the above formula).
The client will be taking readings every day twice for the 3 measuring points based on which he will decide if the machine needs to be recalibrated. Hope the scenario is clear.

Can you share more details.What are these measurement points & their Units.
Based on your inputs it seems you are trying to link all the measurement points with some formulas which is not an out of the box functionality of standard SAP , the solution could be to develop a customized program
You might have to store all the readings with ref to technical object in a customized table & write the relevant formula in the program.

Goto SPRO
IMG-PMCS-Maintenance and Service Processing-Maintenance and Service Notifications-Notification Processing-Set wrokflow for Maintenance Notifications.
click on Assign Agents it takes to a new screen,
their open Process Sample maintenance notification
select PMtask: Edit newly-created notification
then click on create agent assignment (press F5) on the top left corner of the screen. it pos up a new window select user and mention the concerned user there.
Come back from that screen, click on Activate Event Linking
open WS20000317
for task BUS2038 CREATED click on the details button and tick both the options Event Linkage activated and Enable usage of event que
press enter, then you can observe the Green indicator Activated.
Now create a Notification, it will trigger a mail in SAP to the user u assigned. That user can check SAP mail box (T code SBWP, Inbox - workflow).

Creating notification automatically

Dear Experts,
Can anybody tell me the way to tackle the following requirement:
Requirement-Creating notification automatically
Scenario- Currently we are creating and executing the proces orders for manufactured materials. Once the order is completed by production dept., Goods receipt is posted (Mvt-101) for process order. When the goods receipt is posted one inspection lot gets triggered with lot origin-04.
I want to create a quality notification automatically once the GR is posted. The notification should fetch the required data like inspection lot, Batch No, Order No, Batch Size etc.
Is it possible? If yes, please explain how to do this?

Hi Vivek,
Basically the notifications are to be created in case on non conformity only.
If your requirement is to fetch the information like inspection lot, Batch No, Order No, Batch Size etc; I donu2019t think you need to create a notification for this.
You can get this information readily in QA32 report itself. If anymore is required explore QALS table by passing inspection lot.

Problem in creation of Maintenance Notification.

Hi All,
I have a requirement to create a maintenance notification through BAPI. When I tried to create it by bapi 'BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CREATE' , I am having one issue.
Whenever we create a notification by T-code 'IW21' there is one flag for 'Put in Progress' which changes the phase of notification from 'Outstanding' to 'In Progress'. But whenever I am creating with the help of BAPI this notification is deirectly going to 'In progress' Phase. I have checked all the parameters of this BAPI but didn't found any such flag.
So If anybody have solution like how to create initially notification in Outstanding phase and later if we need to change it how to change it, please help me out.

Skip the Creation of Maintenance Notification

I would like to know the effect if i will skip or remove the process of creation of Maintenance notification in SAP PM. The process will start with the creation of Order, if there's an external service required the Maintenance Order will be converted into PO if no external service or material will close the Order.
Since the Creation of Maintenance Order will generate Notification, we were thinking that creation of Notification is redundant if the system allows to create order and notification in one transaction.
What would be the effect of this, thanks and God bless.

As the experts, who had already answered observed, this is purely a business process consideration. If your (Client's) organization supports a "streamlined" process in which direct Order creation is beneficial you can go for it.
As you've written "Since the Creation of Maintenance Order will generate Notification, we were thinking that creation of Notification is redundant if the system allows to create order and notification in one transaction." I assume you are still using Notification and Order integration. But as Yogesh Dhokne mentioned, this is optional as well.
If you choose to create a Notification in the background, you can still register breakdown times for MTTF/MTBF calculations, Catalog Codes for tracking and any additional information once the Orders are created.
But consider this: How is work requested, released for execution and reported? If you only create Orders, you have only Orders to go on. Therefore, you might require more verbose User Status management, and you may find yourself with Orders that are being created unnecessarily and have to be closed, Orders being released prematurely... You have to have a very "flat" process around this immediate Order creation.
On the other hand, consider that having Notifications created prior means a more "deep" process and more overhead, but you can have a step to filter works to be released on the Notification level before Orders are created, if you have more than one Notification for the same work, you can assign it to a single Order, and you have more options when designing roles and authorizations, since you can separate access and business transactions for Notifications and Orders for your Operations and Maintenance users, if necessary.

Search option in catalog selection in maintenance notification item, object

Dear Experts,
I have a problem to search & choose the relevent catalog codes in maintenance notification item, in catalog selection pop up when F4 done on object part. Is there any setting to find the relevent codes from the cataloge selection screen or any setting for the FIND option availabilty on the catalog selection pop up.
We are using ECC 5.0.
Kindly provide the solution.

Tushar,
Your emphasis is on Relevant Codes. This means codes relevant to the Technical Object (Equipment or Functional Location)
For this purpose only SAP has given the functionality Catalog Profile.
Create a Catalog Profile (OQN6) in which you mention the codes relevant to the technical object.
Now mention this Catalog Profile in the Organisation tab of the Technical object. (Equipment or Functional Location).
After this whenever you create a notification on such Equipments/FLs, you will get only those catalogs which you've mentioned in the Catalog Profile

How to Close the FYI notifications Automatically

I have a requirement, where my manager getting so many FYI notifications daily. It is not possible to check all those notifications.He wants to close all the notifications automatically. By doing this he wants to disappear all those notifications under Open notifications.

Host getting exit from Maintenance mode automatically

Hi all,
I have placed a ESXi 5.1 update 2 host into maintenance mode for host upgrade.
After sometime, the host got exit from maintenance mode automatically ( Exit maintenance mode initiated by System).
Have anyone faced this issue??
Any solution/fix for this ...

In order to uninstall a possibly unwanted extension, please do the following:

Completion date for manually created maintenance notification

Hi All,
When closing maintenance notification created manually by t-code- IW21,there is no field to enter completion date & time. System is proposing the current date as completion date by default. However , as I have flagged u201Ccompletion datau201D in maintenance plan category for notification ,system is asking/proposing completion date/time during NOCO of preventive maintenance.
Where I can do settings in configuration so that system will ask/propose to enter completion date/time during NOCO of manually created notification by t-code IW21?

In notification type views you have option to set Reference date & time- if you set it to A- Malfunction start date & time will
be proposed, if you set it to B- Notification receipt date & time will be proposed, if you set it to C- Malfunction end time will
be proposed, & in case of D - current date & time of completion of notification will be proposed while completing notification.
Better set it to B & make the field malfunction start date & time mandatory so that your history will be with reference to malfunction start. Or you can set it to A, C or D as per your requirement

Planned maintenance notifications to MEB

Good Morning Guys
I have been having problems processing planned maintenance notifications when creating revisiom and creating orders from revised revisions.
Am getting two errors
1.Task list A ENG 01: no conversion rule found for work center MA00/1000
2.Error creating order for task list 02000038 4000290 A ENG 01 in revisions
This is what i got from perfomace assistance

Diagnosis
The system tried to create an order for main work center MA00/1000 from task
list A ENG 01. No conversion was found for work center MA00/1000 (valid from
15.04.2014).
System Response
The system cannot convert the work center. The order creation process was
canceled.

Seems like issue of validity date of Maint. Work Center . If it is, correct it in IR02. and retry.
