  • What does this mean? Service "Bonjour Service" could not be installed...

Service "Bonjour Service" could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services. How do I "Verify" that I have "sufficient privileges." I have tried unistalling and reinstalling Bonjour. But everytime I try to download the new version of Itunes this error message pops up. I first encounter the problem when I was trying to preview a song on itunes. I clicked the song but it would not play. I then tried playing music previoulsy pruchased music and it still wouldn't play. So far I have removed Itunes and Bonjour and then reinstalled them, but I am still recieving this message. Can anyone help.

  • Itunes 10.2.2 not installing message is -Service 'ipad service'could not be installed. verify that you have sufficient privelge to install system services . I have windows 7 , am administrator in windows 7, but i have an iphone not an ipad, Hints?

I tunes tries to update over and over again to 10.2.2.  Each time it fails and lists  message"Service 'ipad service'could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privelege to install system services."
I have an iphone and use itunes to update it. I do not have an ipad if that is an issue.  Is this problem related to apple, or to Windows vista?  I am system administrator on Windows 7 so the problem must be related to apple. I would appreciate a clue as to what I need to do. Or are there sufficient problems with 10.2.2 that I should be happy it will not update? This problem is getting beyond annoying since i have work to do other than cater to apple itunes.

I would say it is Windows.
Which are you using btw, Vista or 7?
And did you download the 64-bit version if that is what you run?
There were a lot of tips to troubleshoot (never needed to in 4 yrs though knock on wood).
    Uninstall itunes
    run chckdsk and sfc /scannow
    CCleaner 3.05
If 7 did you upgrade to SP1? Driver Sweeper has been known to cause some problems with Windows 7 SP1

  • ITunes 7.6 Upgrade Install Fails - "iPod Service could not be installed."

    My system:

    Current iTunes version: 7.5.0.20
    What I did:
Downloaded latest install exe for iTunes (iTunesSetup.exe)

During the install I receive the following message: "Service 'iPodService' (iPod Service) could not be installed. Verify that you have suffient priliges to install system services."
Note: I am the system administrator.
I abort the install and it rolls back. I restart iTunes. At this time a message box pops up stating "Ipod Service. Could not delete service"
In services I go to iPod Services and it is set to 'Disabled' When I try to set the sevice to Automatic or Manual I can not do so and I get the message: "The specified servoce has been marked for deletion."
I restarted my computer and opened iTunes.
When I run diagnostics in iTunes the Diagnostics file is as follows:

    So:
How do I get iTunes Helper to run again?
How do I get the iTunes update to version 7.6 to successfully install?
    Thank you for your help.

Before reinstalling everything, I'm curious if you've ever used your System Configuration Utility on your computer? Click Start > Run and type msconfig. Click OK. Is the option for 'selective startup' selected? If so, click the Startup tab and make sure iTunesHelper and qttask are selected, and then click the Services tab and make sure iPodService and AppleMobileDevice are selected.
If that is not the case, I would recommend removing everything and reinstalling.
My recommended technique is as follows:
Go into Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
    Remove these applications:
    1. Apple Software Update
    2. Apple Mobile Device Support
    3. iPod for Windows (this may or may not exist, either way, it's not needed so we can remove it)
    4. iTunes
    5. QuickTime
    Restart the computer
Download & Install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Launch the Utility: Start > Programs > Windows Install Clean Up
Select any of the above mentioned applications, and click Remove
    Restart the computer again
Download & install iTunes again from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

  • ITunes does not install properly, 'iPod Service' could not be installed

During an iTunes update to latest version. The update failed, I downloaded manually and reinstalled but it still failed. I remove all apple applications from the PC. redownloaded iTunes and reinstalled again. This time I got the message 'Service 'iPod Service'(iPod Service) could not be installed. etc'.
I am an administrator I can install services.
I am using Windows XP Service Pack 3, using Norton Internet Security as a virus protection and firewall. Norton has been installed for 6 months and iTunes has been updating okay until the current update.

I've got the same problem. What's with Apple? You'd think they could send out an update that works. But, that hasn't happened in years. Tell us what to do, Apple! This is ridiculous!

  • Bonjour Services could not be stopped

I've had it with the stupid bonjour services. I have searched for countless hours for a solution, and even emailed the head-honchos. But it was "out of their field." A message pops up during installation, and says, "Service 'Bonjour service' (Bonjour Service) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficent priviledges to stop system services." Can someone help me???

That can sometimes happen if the BonJour service is jammed in an odd state. Let's check on that.
In your Start menu, right-click "Computer" and select "Manage".
    Expand "Services & Applications".
    Open "Services".
Maximise the window to better see what is going on.
What is showing up for you next to the BonJour Service under Status and Startup Type? For example, mine says "Started" and "Automatic".

  • Cannot Load iTunes 10.0 Because "iPod service could not be installed".

When I tried to upgrade to iTunes 10.0 I received an error message and was told to uninstall and reinstall iTunes. When I tried to install 10.0 . I got the following error message "Service 'iPod Service' (iPod Service) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services." It then won't let me proceed with the installation. What can I do to install the new version of iTunes?

I have a similar problem when trying to upgrade to iTunes 10. The iPod Services exists but won't start - either automatically or manually. Have uninstalled, deleted, reinstalled following lots of different suggested paths but nothing has resolved it so far. Can no longer synch with iPod or synch photos/video/music with iPad

  • Ipod service could not be installed

Installing update to iTunes on PC and getting error "ipod service could not be installed" and now my ipod shuffle is not being recognized.

steps below worked for me ( windows 7 x86/32bits )
close SysInternals's Process Explorer ( if you have it and it's open )
    close all Task Manager(s)
    close Windows Services console ( services.msc )
    close all command prompts ( cmd.exe )
    open a cmd.exe as Admin
run: sc create "iPod Service" binpath= "C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe"
    close all command prompts ( cmd.exe )
    open Windows Services console ( services.msc )
look for "iPod Service", see if it's not Disabled. If so, start it
    close Windows Services console ( services.msc )
Run iTunes.msi again ( previously downloaded via the Apple Software Update's Only Download function )

  • FIM Service could not be installed

    Experts,
    I am installing FIM 2010 R2 SP1.
    installation order
    step1 on server1 - FIM Synchronization server
    step2 on server2 - FIM Service
    step3 on server3 - FIM Portal
    FIM Synchronization service installed successfully.
while installing FIM Service. All things goes smoothly but FIM Service is not visible in services.msc.
    What could be reason?
    Should I install Portal first?
    Thanks,
    Mann

You can install FIM Service and FIM Portal at the same time as seen on this guide
Step 8: Install FIM Synchronization Service, FIM Portal, SSPR, and FIM Reporting
What happens if you open your browser in your FIM server and go to
    http://YourFIMServer/identitymanagement or
https://YourFIMServer/identitymanagement if you have enabled SSL?
He is not installing FIM Portal at the same box - so /identitymanagement would not work here...

  • ITunes will not update because 'iPod Service' could not be downloaded.

For many months now I have been trying to update my iTunes on my computer yet whenever the update is being downloaded I recieve an error message that tells me to go to the Tools menu and to download it from there. I do this and try to install the software again but whenever iTunes is in the process of being downloaded I get the message "Service 'iPod Service' (iPod Service) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services." But the thing is I am the administrator on this computer and I get this message everytime. To update I have been uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it. What can I do to fix this?

Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

I'm downloading iTunes onto a 64-bit Windows 7 platform. I am getting the message 'The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed'. What causes this?

You can go through the Microsoft Support kb as there can be some issue with the Windows Installer Service settings or registry keys. Go through the below Link and check the Resolution tab in it. But be careful when working with system Registries.

  • Having trouble downloading itunes on my computer. i keep getting a error message that reads: apple sync notifier.exe- entry point not found.

Hello, can anyone help me out there? Im having trouble downloading itunes on my computer.
Ikeep getting a error message reading:
#1  applesyncnotifer.exe- entry point not found.
#2  the procedure entry point sqlite3-wal-checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library. sqlite3.d11.

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Restart the programme all should be well
In case that your OS is (64 bit)
    1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
    3. Now paste it in the folder  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
    4. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.
    Good Luck

    Hey there Frank0619,
If you have not been able to install iTunes because the Windows Installer service is not available, I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following troubleshooting to help.
    Issues installing iTunes for Windows
    These in particular:
Make sure you have an administrator account.
To install iTunes, you'll need to log in to your computer with an administrator password. If you're not sure if you have an administrator account, read Windows 7: How do I log on as an administrator? You could also refer to your computer's help system, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for assistance.
Install the latest Microsoft Windows updates.
To download the latest updates, visit the Microsoft Windows Update website. iTunes for Windows requires Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 with the latest Service Pack installed. If you can’t install the updates, refer to your computer's help system, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for assistance.
Download the latest version of iTunes.
The latest version of iTunes can be downloaded at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/.
    Disable conflicting software.
Some Windows background processes can cause issues for other programs and processes. These conflicts can prevent applications, such as iTunes, from installing. Disable conflicting processes by starting your computer using MSConfig:
Using Msconfig to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows XP
Using Msconfig to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8
Some security software made by other companies can't be disabled using MSConfig. If you've installed security software and you're having issues installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows, you might need to disable or uninstall security software to resolve installation issues.
    Restart your computer.
    Install iTunes.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

I can't Start, Uninstall of Install new iTunes. I'm getting the same error message: "Window Installer Service could not be accessed". No other programs having similar problem. Any suggestions how to fix it?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) (not for XP) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
