Trouble downloading my own podcast.....

Hey - i'm pretty new to all this podcasting thing but i recently created an XML feed for iTunes - it took me AGES to get it right so they would accept it - i finally did but now once i have subscribed to it, i can't actually get the podcasts.
It comes up with error 400 - which after some research suggests i report a concern; trouble is the concern will be emailed to myself and i'm the one who's stuck!!
I checked and checked the podcast URL's and i can't see the problem, the XML feed is here http://www.iamdevoted.com/podcast/devotedpod2.xml
If anyone has any idea what the problem is - i'm desperate lol!

As you have found, getting XML files right is a bit of a chore. There are several utilities you might try. Feed for All does RSS feeds and that is what I use it for mainly; while RSS Buddy which is what I use for podcasts, is dedicated to that feature.

Error -39 when trying to download my own Podcast in iTunes

Hi all,
I get an unknown error (-39) when I try to download the first episode of my podcast:

* the feed is validated by the recommended web site
* I can subscribe to the Podcast in iTunes
* the podcast information on iTunes is correct
* the episode information on iTunes is correct
* I pinged the iTunes server to make sure it's got the latest changes
* someone else can actually subscribe to the podcast and download the episode
* I tried to unsubscribe and subscribe again, to no avail
Any help would be appreciated.

My problem was client related.
I couldn't download it because I had a file (*.tmp) stuck in the iTunes > Podcasts > Downloads directory for that podcast. Once I deleted that file, I could download the podcast fine.
That's abug in my book.
Where can I submit it?

Trouble downloading video podcast

anybody else having trouble downloading video podcasts of the RNC? The DNC podcasts are downloading fine, but the RNC are not! anybody know why this is?

I downloaded your files and I couldn't get them to play either. iTunes won't play them and Quicktime just says it's a file that quicktime doesn't understand. Both files will have to be converted to ipod/itunes compatibility formats and reloaded to your server before they can be viewed.

iSquint is an easy shareware solution to convert files to ipod ready format that can then be loaded to the ITMS. It's found at http://www.isquint.org/
it's a great program, I use it weekly for my own church.

Having trouble download certain podcasts

I am trying to download "The Adam Carolla Podcast" but when i click download a little orange circle appears and the downloads section pops up for a split second and then stops without download a single kb. I have no problems downloading any other podcasts or apps, just this one. Can someone please help me?

If you look in your iTunes Library (under Podcasts) does the show appear, but with an exclamation mark beside it? If so, click the exclamation mark for an explanation of the error.
One thing though, I had a look at this Podcast in the iTunes Store - every episode is marked "explicit" and even one of the customer reviews mentions the profanities. Does your iTunes have the *Parental Control* set to Disable/Podcasts? You can check for this in your iTunes, go to Edit/Preferences and click on the *Parental Control* tab. Look at the *Disable: Podacsts,* is there a tick in the box? If so, that's the problem.
You don't mention your age, (and why should you ) but if you are a minor and your parent has set this +and turned on the lock to prevent further changes+ there's probably not much you can do.

Trouble downloading podcasts on iPhone

I'm having trouble downloading podcasts on my iPhone. It goes really slow and sometimes downloads all the way, other times it switches between "downloading" and "processing" and the little blue bar never moves

I suspect the 26M B is what is called a Delta upgrade, just the changes from the last version of Safari, whereas the standalone bigger one is the whole kit 'n' kaboodle.

Apple doesn't create installation disks for OSX 10.7 and later. You can create your own disk/USB bootable installer, but this requires downloading the installation package from the app store first.
1) Make sure you have a stable internet connection. Try directly connecting via ethernet port, versus Wifi, if you are experiencing a weak Wifi Signal or intermediate loss of connectivity
2) From the App Store, go to the Menu Bar, Store > Sign out.
3) Navigate to the /Applications folder and drag the partially completed download of the installer to the trash.
4) Open the App store, sign back in, and redownload Mavericks.

Having Trouble Downloading Certain Files

I just got a Droid Razr the other day after accidentally dropping my Droid 2 off a third floor balcony. I'm enjoying the phone so far, but I'm having trouble downloading certain files. I use my phone to listen to podcasts. With my old phone I was able to download them from their respective websites by hold-clicking the download link, and clicking "Save Link." Now when I do that, I get the little "Starting Download" message, then, nothing. Is there some setting or something that isn't right?
Full disclosure, when I was transferring the files from my old 8GB SD card to my new 16GB card, I accidentally put the files on the internal storage instead of the SD card, so after getting the files onto the right card, I deleted those files from internal storage. I was thinking perhaps I accidentally deleted some system file or something that would cause this problem, but I really have no idea.

Try Opera Mobile because a number of stock browsers have issues downloading from some sites....
As for the possibilty od deleting system files you should not have access to any system files that would cause and device issues because you have to have Superuser rights and the system wont have this without voiding warrenty..

HT1491 Trouble downloading movies onto ipad

Having troubles downloading or syncing movies purchased on itunes onto my ipad. I have no problems downloading music, podcasts and pictures but for whatever reason movies won't transfer. I can see the purchased movies on my ipad in itunes but it won't let me access it. When I open my Videos tab it shows nothing in the folder. Please advise. TIA

Tracking downloads of our podcast on the Apple iTunes Store

My company posted our first set of podcasts to the iTunes Store. As a content creator, is there any way that we can track the number of visits or downloads of our podcasts?

The podcasts do not reside on Apple's servers but they provide a link to your own. Your web admin (IT department?) should have software that provides statistics on any downloads from/contacts wit your site.

Downloading music, audiobooks, podcasts

I download audiobooks from the library. To do that, I have to set my music setting to manual. When I try to set it back to auto so I can add my CD collection, the books are wiped out. On top of that, the music doesn't cross over. I have no trouble downloading podcasts, but that seems to be the extent of material which my Classic 120 wants. Any Help?

Thanks Mike. I use various other backup utlities which allow me to do the same exclusions, but it obviously requires manually updating your backup job(s) each time you add an audiobook, movie, or podcast. iTunes started out managing music and then added the additional areas so at some point they should consider separating out these folders IMO.

Install iTunes on your Acer and you can back up the iPhone. Or back it up to iCloud. If you do not back it up you can get it unlocked, but you will lose all of your content.

Even after unlocking I'm not sure it will work on Straight Talk, because last time I checked ST used Verizon as its carrier, and an AT&T iPhone 4 is not compatible with Verizon's network. You can probably use it on Net 10 or T-Mobile once it is unlocked.
