Trouble invoking Axis service with multiple parameters

Hallo Java experts,
I have a problem with Axis 1.2RC2 (and Tomcat 5.0.19, JDK 1.5, Win XP) that might be quite simple, but I'm not so experienced and running out of ideas.
Everything works fine as long as I use a single Parameter. But I can't invoke service methods with more parameters, independent of the parameters' (simple) types! Different exceptions are thrown, depending on the way I invoke the service. It's either ...
- a java.lang.IllegalArgumentException (case 1)
"Tried to invoke method public java.lang.String test.server.TestSoapBindingImpl.printLongs(long,long) with arguments java.lang.Long,null. The arguments do not match the signature."
- or an org.xml.sax.SAXException (case 2)
"SimpleDeserializer encountered a child element, which is NOT expected, in something it was trying to deserialize."
Here's an example of a simple web service, that takes two longs and should return a string. In case 1 the service is invoked using a service locator in case 2 with a 'Call' object and explicitly set parameter types.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Dave

Dave, not sure if you still are looking for an answer but i hate seeing unreplied posts so i felt i needed to post something. I'm just beginning with this stuff as well so take my suggestions with a grain of salt....or a beer. Anyways, case 2 would show that you are getting your parameters through properly because the "deserialization" errror is targetted towards the soap reply. Most likely you are trying to receive back a none primitive type. :-D i.e. such as the problem that i'm having.
hope that helps somewhat.

  • Parallel Flow invokes async services with incorrect parameters

    Hi
    I'm calling an async service using 2 partnerlinks in a parallel flow.
    The input variables are being assigned correctly but one of the invokes is using the wrong values.
    The problem appears to be around the use of a shared variable (Invoke_initiate_InputVariable) that is 'copied' to each of the invoke variables
    On invocation both services are iincorrectly nvoked with:
    <Invoke_initiate_InputVariable>
         <part xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" name="payload">
              <HumanTaskProcessRequest xmlns="http://itv.com/HumanTask">
                   <Production/>
                   <HumanTask>
                        <Title>Title2</Title>
                        <Priority>2</Priority>
                        <UserGroups>STC</UserGroups>
                   </HumanTask>
              </HumanTaskProcessRequest>
         </part>
    </Invoke_initiate_InputVariable>
    I can get the process to work if I remove all references to the variable Invoke_initiate_InputVariable - can anyone explain this behaviour?

  • Web service with multiple out parameters

    Hi Developers,
    I have been playing around with som web services in the developer studio.
    I can create a webservice from a normal ejb.
    But i can only get one out parameter, which is the return parameter of the ejb.
    I tried to make an object to use as return parameter, but then i couldn't use the method for the web service.
    Can anyone tell me how to make a web service with multiple out parameters?
    Br Rasmus

    Hi Developers,
    I have the same question, is it possible to have multiple outgoing parameters?
    When not, does SAP Netweaver knows a IN-OUT parameter? Because I found on the internet that it is possible to have a IN-OUT parameter. But that was with the BEA Weblogic 8.x.
    When not, is then the only solution to return a object? With in this object all the parameters you want.
    Or otherwise is there a other workaround?
    Thanks in advance,

    Using a dynamic route node or dynamic routing options, I am able to achieve cases 1, 2, 4, and 5.
    But for cases 3 & 6, I can not use a route node. When I use a Service call out instead, then I am forced to create a Operational branch but that does not seem like the best design since for every new operation added to the business services, I have to add a new branch to the Operational branch and redo all the functionality for that branch.
    Basically, I am looking to achieve the functionality of the Route node ( no need to specify the operation ).
    Any thoughts/ideas on what the best design would be?
    thanks

    For cases 3 & 6, why don't you route to another proxy service where you can simple do two service callouts, merge output data somehow and return them to the first proxy?
    If you look for "special route feature", that could possibly call two services for a single message, I'm afraid you won't succeed.

  • Invoke web service with DTO

    Hey guys,
    I am quite new in using BPEL. My first test worked fine, but know I have an issue, which I can not solve. Invoking web services with a basic return value is no problem. I could also you a dto object including some basic variables in order to invoke the web service without having problems.
    But when I have a dto object as return value, I get the following exception.
    Could someone give me a hint to fix my problem...that would be great!
    Thanks alot!

  • Services with multiple account assignment.

    Hi all,
    How can I find out the POs which are having the multiple account assignment for the service line items from tables ?
    I am looking for services with multiple account assignments
    Regards

    Hi
    Go to SE16 , give table name -EKPO
    Now if you have purchase order nos with you then copy paste the PO numbers here , or select company code or site to restrict your entries. It will control the performance of the data execution.
    Then execute this (remove max no 200 ) . Go to Settings-- Format List -- Choose fields. Deselect all and select fields as per your requirement.If field names are coming in technical names you can change this via settings--User parameter and select -Field Label.
    You can extract this report to excel as well. Same PO number with all account assignment category.
    Please note if you have high volume of data then extract all the POs under service orders first from EKKO table and copy all the service PO numbers availbvale and paste in table EKPO, it will increase performance as well.
    Cheers

  • How to call stored procedure with multiple parameters in an HTML expression

    Hi, Guys:
    Can you show me an example to call stored procedure with multiple parameters in an HTML expression? I need to rewrite a procedure to display multiple pictures of one person stored in database by clicking button.
    The orginal HTML expression is :
    <img src="#OWNER#.dl_sor_image?p_offender_id=#OFFENDER_ID#" width="75" height="75">which calls a procedure as:
    procedure dl_sor_image (p_offender_id IN NUMBER)now I rewrite it as:
    PROCEDURE Sor_Display_Current_Image(p_n_Offender_id IN NUMBER, p_n_image_Count in number)could anyone tell me the format for the html expression to pass multiple parameters?
    Thanks a lot.
    Sam

    Hi:
    Thanks for your help! Your question is what I am trying hard now. Current procedure can only display one picture per person, however, I am supposed to write a new procedure which displays multiple pictures for one person. When user click a button on report, APEX should call this procedure and returns next picture of the same person. The table is SOR_image. However, I rewrite the HTML expression as follows to test to display the second image.
    <img src="#OWNER#.Sor_Display_Current_Image?p_n_Offender_id=#OFFENDER_ID#&p_n_image_Count=2" width="75" height="75"> The procedure code is complied OK as follows:
    create or replace
    PROCEDURE Sor_Display_Current_Image(p_n_Offender_id IN NUMBER, p_n_image_Count in number) AS
        v_mime_type VARCHAR2(48);
        v_length NUMBER;
        v_name VARCHAR2(2000);
        v_image BLOB;
        v_counter number:=0;
        cursor cur_All_Images_of_Offender is
          SELECT 'IMAGE/JPEG' mime_type, dbms_lob.getlength(image) as image_length, image
          FROM sor_image
          WHERE offender_id = p_n_Offender_id;
        rec_Image_of_Offender cur_All_Images_of_Offender%ROWTYPE;
    BEGIN
        open cur_All_Images_of_Offender;
        loop
          fetch cur_All_Images_of_Offender into rec_Image_of_Offender;
          v_counter:=v_counter+1;
          if (v_counter=p_n_image_Count) then
            owa_util.mime_header(nvl(rec_Image_of_Offender.mime_type, 'application/octet'), FALSE);
            htp.p('Content-length: '||rec_Image_of_Offender.image_length);
            owa_util.http_header_close;
            wpg_docload.download_file (rec_Image_of_Offender.image);
          end if;
          exit when ((cur_All_Images_of_Offender%NOTFOUND) or (v_counter>=p_n_image_Count));
        end loop;
        close cur_All_Images_of_Offender;
    END Sor_Display_Current_Image; The procedure just open a cursor to fetch the images belong to the same person, and use wpg_docload.download_file function to display the image specified. But it never works. It is strange because even I use exactly same code as before but change procedure name, Oracle APEX cannot display an image. Is this due to anything such as make file configuration in APEX?
    Thanks

  • Web service URL with multiple parameters

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to make use of a web service that takes multiple parameters without the use of a proxy (we're using NW 7/7.1 and  proxies aren't supported -  i.e. i'm getting the same thing as described here: Proxy object to consume web service)
    So instead I'm trying to follow a method similar to what is done [here|http://sample-code-abap.blogspot.com/2009/05/simple-code-consume-web-service-using.html]
    When I put the web service url into a browser and click on the operation it comes up with
    http://portLocation/company/webservice.asmx?op=operation
    and comes up with the sample SOAP request and response as normal.
    Now with most web services with one parameter, the url translates to something like: http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx/GetCitiesByCountry?CountryName=australia
    Which works fine.
    However, the web service i'm using has 4 parameters and when I try and translate my url to be like this (http://portLocation/Company/WebService.asmx/Operation?parameter1=XX&parameter2=XX&parameter3=XX&parameter4=XX) I get, "The page cannot be displayed"
    Can anyone suggest a way that I might be able to get around this or what I'm doing wrong.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    are you sure that your Operation is valid? So for example in your [example|http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx] there are just two operations: [GetCitiesByCountry|http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx/GetCitiesByCountry] and [GetWeather|http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx/GetWeather]. You are right about passing multiple parameters. You need to put ? after valid URL and then pairs <name>=<value> separated by &. Don't forget that you need to encode <name> and <value> to avoid problems.
    Cheers

  • Having trouble with creation of a cloud service with multiple virtual machines using java sdk.

    I am creating a cloud service on azure with 2 virtual machines using java sdk API. Service created successfully.
    My input endpoint details are as follows.
    INPUT ENDPOINTS
    Head : 191.238.144.47:2400
    Head : 191.238.144.47:22
    Node0 : 191.238.144.47:43211
    For Head instance port 2400 is for HTTPS and port 22 is for SSH and for Node0 instance port 43211 is for SSH.
    But I am having problem with doing a ssh on Head instance. Sometimes it works sometimes doesn't. Same problem with HTTPS also.
    I have some application running over there but when i try to access it thru browser sometimes it works but most of the time doesn't. When I restart the instances from azure portal, its works after
    that(not always but most of the time).
    Now I am confused what is going on there. I am creating cloud service and virtual machines using java sdk and setting input endpoints also. After creation of all instances i restart every instance programmatically .
    I am not sure whether restart is required or not. It must be something to do with input endpoints only but not able to get the right thing i guess. When i do the same thing thru azure portal(creation of cloud service with virtual machines and setting up input
    end points) everything works fine but not achieving the result when implementing it by java sdk API. Please help me.

    I've tried passing the credentials every way I can -- partner link properties, Oracle Web Services Manager, whatever -- and still get the same error. I would expect to see a 401 error for problems with credentials, not a 403.
    Any suggestions?

  • Invoking web service with customized SOAP Header

    Hi,
    how can I invoke web services from my BPEL process with additional elements in the SOAP Header?
    Regards,
    Piotr

    I don't know if I completely understand your question, but here is an attempt at and answer.
    It place variables in the SOAP Header open the invoke popup, click on the Adapters tab and select the variable that you would like to add into the SOAP header.
    I really hope that helps.

  • Binding to Odata Service with Input Parameters from HANA

    Hello,
    I'm developing a UI5 application that consumes a SAP HANA OData service to search a database (using fuzzy search). This service receives an Input Parameter, used to query the database.
    So every time the user searches for something I build a new binding path and refresh the model to show the search results in the sap.m.List.
    The Model:
    var hanaModel =  new sap.ui.model.odata.ODataModel("…/services/seed.xsodata");
    this.setModel(hanaModel);
    The search event handler from sap.m.SearchField:
    var listBinding = this.getView().byId("list").getBinding("items");
    listBinding.sPath = "/FoodstuffByNameValuesParameters(P_NAME='" + searchString + "')/Results";
    this.getView().getModel().refresh();
    My question is if this is the correct approach to create the model and bind the list when we have a service with an Input Parameter, or if there is a better way to do it.
    (This approach is actually working).
    Regards,
    Paulo

    i would do
    var       filter = [];
    var selectFilter = new sap.ui.model.Filter("name", sap.ui.model.FilterOperator.Contains, sVal);
          filter.push(selectFilter);
    listBinding .filter(filter);

  • Gateway service with multiple entity sets

    Hi,
    I have designed a Gateway service with 3 entities, and 3 entity sets.Entity sets are not related one to another. This entity sets correspond to static data stored in 3 different custom table in SAP. The aim of this service is to provide static data (but customizable on the backend) for drop down lists on a SAP UI5 application consuming Gateway services.
    I am wondering if it is possible through a single read operation, to retrieve all entity sets. Since the service URL to get data related to one entity set is /sap/opu/odata/sap/ZTEST_SERVICE_SRV/EntitySet, how should I process if I want to retrieve all 3 entity sets ? Is it something possible or do we have to call each entity set at once ?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    I'd try and avoid a construct like this because I don't think it's very compliant or discoverable - you have to know how to access it. That's maybe acceptable for "internal" services, but really, we should try and use the protocol instead of introducing so many workarounds.
    It seems that the simplicity of OData on some levels makes people think they have got the wrong answer. It can get complex but something like a value list is pretty basic and shouldn't be subject to loads of different interpretations.
    Batching GET's on the entities or using a grouping entity as per Andre's suggestion is what I'd be thinking of doing. I know that the former is used by some Fiori applications.
    Regards
    Ron.
