Hello
I am having trouble configuring my jet toolkit to boot across subnets.
It works fine in the same subnet but when it goes across subnets it seems to lose the default router for the client.

• Best way to update a solaris jumpstart OS image.

Hi all,.
Ive been recently building some v240's but have run into trouble with the rather out of date 02/02 instance of Solaris 8 (yes, i did say solaris 8 - it's a political thing..)
Anyhow, I have cd images of Solaris 8 02/04 and have a copy of the Sun Blueprints Jumpstart book by "Howard and Noordergraph".
On page 92, it says to use the "setup_install_server" script with the -b option for /jumpstart/OS/Solaris-xx-xx-xx.
Ive done that without any probs, then it goes on to say if you want an install server do the same command again without the -b switch.
Problem is that it spews out this message.
733 root@bbs00080 # ./setup_install_server -b /jumpstart/OS/Solaris_8_02-2004/
Verifying target directory...
setup_install_server:
The target directory /jumpstart/OS/Solaris_8_02-2004/ is not empty. Please choose an empty
directory or remove all files from the specified directory and run
this program again.
So i chose an empty directory and it goes and does it.
Is this an errata?
I already have /jumpstart/OS/Solaris_8_02-2002/ and I wanted to update the files so that I can boot the v240r.
Except 02/02 doesnt let me do that as it doesnt support the v240r arch.
Sun told me this, but I'm lost because my existing profile for this box, lists all the packages I want to install, but it whinges about not being able to find a .cdrom toc file.
I already have three flash archives which i created from good builds from 02/02, in my rules file which work, but this pesky update for the 240r is getting to be a little tricky.
So far, ive tried copying all the packages from 02/02/Products directory into 02/04/Products but some of them don't install despite being there.
Can anyone suggest the best way to update my 02/02 with the 02/04 boot loader for the v240?
Thanks in advance and sorry for any confusion.
D.

I'm sorry. I meant. Say my array of x positions is 3, 4, 9. I change 9 to 30. How can I make the polygon see that change?

• Solaris 10 x86 u5 dhcp and jumpstart install fail

hello
I have problem in solaris 10 u5 jumpstart install.
I can use jumpstart install with dhcp and get a static ip address (assigned by dhcp server) before solaris 10 u3.
But now I can't use jumpstart install in solaris 10 u5 without setting up a static ip address in sysidcfg.
I have many x86 machines.
If I have to set up every different sysidcfg for every machine when I install a new machine.
I will get into big trouble.

I think that you should modify the script discovery-install, so you'll be able to create the sysidcfg file dynamically. I had the same problem as you and there is a possibility to add some arguments to the boot command that you execute at the ok prompt. These arguments can be defined in the discovery-install script. It's quite easy.

I have a similar problem:

5) on client I reset all, then 'boot -s -v' with the following results:
cannot open neither boot_archive nor miniroot

Looking at the results from snoop, its appears to have trouble navigating/opening the sparc.miniroot in /jumpstart/OS/Solaris_10_2008-10/boot from the platform/sun4u/ sub-dir link.
If I revert back to my 2008-05 build everything works. Is there anything I'm missing?

• Having trouble with FileUploader

I am having trouble with the FileUploader control. The use case is to upload a picture for a user to display on a user profile page.
The first thing I did was take the code from the SAPUI5 DemoKit and modify the uploadUrl to a local directory in my project. This works on the DemoKit and I can see that my file gets uploaded to the ../../../../../uploads directory on the sapui5.ondemand site. But when I try it locally on my project, it fails to post to the directory.
I figured I would skinny it down to the least amount of code to test it.
var layout = new sap.ui.commons.layout.MatrixLayout();
layout.setLayoutFixed(false);
var oUpload = new sap.ui.commons.FileUploader( {
mimeType: "image,text",
fileType: "jpg,png,gif",
uploadUrl: "../images/devices",
name: "Uploader",
width: '500px',
buttonText: "..",
tooltip: "File Name",
value: '',
uploadOnChange: true
layout.createRow( oUpload );
return layout;
When it does the POST, I get a 405 Method Not Allowed error on my local server. Is there something that needs to be configured on the server-side?
I tried putting in an .xsaccess file in the upload folder and parent folder(s) but it does not seem to help.
I have seen some of the other posts on SCN:
This one claims we need a server-side servlet to handle the file. FileUploader
This post has a similar 405 error down in the comments: Import text file from JS to XSJS
So the questions are:
1) Can someone confirm if I can simply write an image to the folder like in the DemoKit? What is needed to make this work?
2) If I cannot write to the folder directly, can someone share their "FileUpload.xsjs" code logic to help me get jumpstarted?
3) What have I missed with the FileUploader?
Thank you,
Jim Giffin
Edit - my current environment is HANA DB 1.00.70.386119, SAPUI5 points to the sapui5.hana.ondemand.com version which is currently 1.20.6, but I have checked out openUI5 1.20.8.

I also failed to mention this is a Developer instance on AWS.

Hi Jim,
answer from discussion you mentioned is correct. You need some server-side handler that will take care of the file and uploads it to directory.
Demokit example does not point to directory "upload", but it is a relative url address.
If you type sapui5.hana.ondemand.com/sdk/test-resources/sap/ui/commons/demokit/../../../../../upload
you will see that it is actually url address sapui5.hana.ondemand.com/sdk/upload which points to some server-side handler.
For you second question, this could be what you are looking for - Upload data to HANA table with SAPUI5 FileLoader and HANA Extended Services

• How to change the default JET (JumpStart) password

I am using JET (Jumpstart Enterprise Toolkit) to jumpstart my servers. The default password, boajrOmU7GFmY, is saved in a encrypted form in jumpstart.conf. I want to change it, how do I know the encrypted form of my new password?

• Mini-Dvi-to-Video trouble

I just bought a mini-dvi-to-video adapter so I could use my TV as a display. More specifically, so I could use my VCR to record what's on my Mac's display. I also bought a headphone-to-composite cable adapter. I'm using a double-headed (is that one male or female? It's male, isn't it?) composite cable from the video adapter to the VCR. The problem is, it doesn't show up. The sound plays (and records) fine, but the video neither shows up on the TV screen nor records onto the tape. What's the problem? Both adapters are Dynex, my computer's a Late 2006 iMac (I think), the cable is WireLogic, and both the VCR and TV are Sony. Please help, thanks.

So if you eliminate the double headed splitter and plug straight into the TV, does the video still not show up?
FYI, there have been reports in the past of trouble with the Dynex video adapter. You may need to purchase the Apple OEM one. The Dynex may lack having a ROM inside of it with a proper EDID in the ROM. This is crucial to the Mac.

I want to use it to import videos from my Sony Hi8 camcorder and was told by Apple's Live help that this is what I needed to import video and make DVDs. How do I get this adapter to work?

Welcome aboard.
I think the adapter you have is for video output, not input. To input video to the eMac you need a firewire connection. Sony cameras typically have a 4 wire connector which is smaller than the 6 wire plug on the mac, so you need a cable that has a 4 wire connector on one end and a 6 wire connector on the other. Cameras often (but not always) come with such a cable. You also need a digital camcorder- not just Hi8., although Sony does make cameras that will do both. If you camera does not have digital output, you need a convertor box.

• Hi, I am having trouble MacBook Air crashing since Yosemite upgrade. I ran an Etresoft check but I don't know what it means... my system runs slowly and crashes. I have to force shutdown. Sometimes screen is black for a split second b/w webmail pages

Hello,
I am having trouble with my MacBook Air 13 inch June 2012 MacBook Air5, 2 4GB RAM details below in Etresoft report. I recently upgraded to Yosemite and am having system trouble. My computer crashes and I have to force quit to restart. When using webmail there is a black screen for a split second between pages. This did not happen before. I am worried that it is not running properly and perhaps I need to revert to the previous operating system. I only have a MacBook Air and no need to share images between a tablet or phone so I did not need the new photo sharing software of Yosemite. I wonder if I don't have enough RAM to run it? I did not run time machine before I made the upgrade as I did not realise the significance of an upgrade as not very Mac literate. Any advice on whether my system is in danger... most appreciated! I am writing a book and making a back up but this machine is my lifeline and my work is conducted through it. It ran perfectly before... the Yosemite upgrade has perhaps highlighted some problems and it has unnerved me!
Thanks ever so much for your advice!
Lillibet

When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.

If this is your only Backup would suggest getting a New EHD and creating another one... Preferably a Clone if you don't already have one.

I purchased the student version of Photoshop and Lightroom a few weeks ago
I have a 19 digit code that i had to scratch to get, a 30 digit number under the bar code, and a 6 digit authorization code that seems to be completely pointless. I started off putting in the 19 digit code with all my other information, but it wanted 24. so I filled in the rest with zeros. Then it starts giving me so much trouble I don't think I'll ever attempt to get photoshop again.
