Truoble with aggregation based on levels

hi people!
my question is regarding using pre-aggregate values (for monthes) on different dimension levels.
I have fact table ProductFacts that is joined on BMM with PeriodsDim (hierarchy) and GeographyDim (hierarchy).
I have 2 logical sources for ProductFacts (one with detail information and another with pre-aggregated (for monthes) info).
I assigned the most detailed levels for logical source with detail info:
- TimeDim - TimeDim Detail (day level)
- GeographyDim - Shop (the most detailed level)
For logical source with pre-aggregate values:
- TimeDim - Month
- GeographyDim - Shop (the most detailed level)
But when i built request in Answers:
Year, Product, Sum Orders
i see that sql request isn't correct. In particular, i see cast(NULL as  DOUBLE PRECISION  ) as c3. The request tries to refer to another logical tables but not to TimeDim and Pre-aggregate source.
Can someone help me to define aggregations for logical sources correctly?
10x in advance.

  • How to build the members in essbase based on levels using EAL

    Hi All,
    How to restrict the members to build the in essbase based on levels using EAL.
    I've requirement, in one dimension, needs to build the one level1 member as level0 in essbase.
    please let me know the procedure, if any one implemented or face similar.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kiran

    there's no such functionality in EAL to create Essbase outlines based on levels. the only workaround to this is to use Mapping tables:
    1- create the dimension in essbase with the desired HFM level 1 members as level 0.
    2- set this specific dimension to mapping in your design grid within your EAL Bridge
    3- create the SQL Mapping table and start mapping those members from HFM to Essbase.
    Tanios

  • I need to get back in touch with UK based technica...

    Background - a few weeks ago I received help on the forum in connection with my modem re-booting, usually in the early morning. I got in touch with Bt Customer support who helped by getting the noise level back down but I still suffered from re-booting, consequent increases in snr and lower speeds. I switched from the HH3 to a Billion bipac 7700n router. This was a vast improvement. No more re-booting but occasional re-syncs instead - at least the snr and DSL speed stayed roughly at the same level. I did however want to eliminate the 4-5 re-syncs per day - a nuisance if you are trying to use the PC or streaming music when the connection drops. Customer support advised me to test the router in the BT test socket. Alas, when I looked inside my BT master socket I found that I hadn't got a test socket. Bt Customer support splendidly arranged for a BT engineer to come the next day to fit a test socket. This was just before Xmas.
    With Xmas over, guests having gone and continuing to suffer from re-syncing, I connected the router directly to the new BT test socket. In the space of 9 hours there were 4 re-syncs.
    I e-mailed Bt customer support an extract from the router's systems log to seek their help. Within minutes I had a call from an operator in BT India who put me through to their technical desk. Unfortunately the technical desk did not have my e-mail and did not seem very interested in the background to my issue. After an hour in the phone I spoke to a supervisor who explained that he could not take my problem further until I had tried a new HH3.
    Well the HH3 turned up today. On connection my snr went up to 10db and the DSL speed down from 6656 kbps to 4344 kbps. Needless to say I have disconnected the HH3.
    I should add that the BT engineer who fitted the new master socket said that in his view I needed a Broadband boost engineer and that he would put this in his report.
    Advice on how to get back in contact with Uk based support would be welcome.  I had been making good progress!

  • Use of filters and aggregations based on hierarchy nodes in an update rule

    Hello,
    I need to calculate some indicators from a ODS (BW 3.5) that contain raw data to another one that will contain indicators. These figures are the results of the use of filters and aggregations based on hierarchy nodes (for example: all sales accounts under a node).
    In fact, this is typically a query but I want to store these figures, so I need
    I understood I have to use a start routine. I never did that before.
    Could you provide me with easy-to-understand-for-newbies examples of:
    - filtering data based on the value of an infoobject (value must be empty, for example)
    - filtering and aggregation of data based on the appartenance to hierarchy nodes (all sales figures, ....)
    - aggregation of the key figures based on different characteristics after filtering of these
    Well, I am asking a lot ...
    Thank you very much
    Thomas

  • Seqment shrink with function based indexes - 10.2.0.3

    Hi,
    Analogy: suppose you have 1 million barrels filled with water near 85% maybe less, now you spilled ...say 40% the total water, maybe you have 400,000 empty barrels or the equivalent (here comes the overhead) you are going to concentrate the water in 600,000 barrels and return the empty ones to the "Oracle Server" store, just to reclaim them gradually until you have the starting 1 million barrel.
    Our advise: keep the objects as they are, both table and index. Oracle will use released space as efficiently as he can, which is (at that level) better than us.
    You're worried about the index space? much better leave it now, that's the structure which may cause the major part of overhead.
    Regards
    Ignacio

  • Insert performance on a table with schema based XMLType column

    Hi,
    We are inserting around 500K rows into a table which has one XMLType column (schema based). Schema is simple and the size of the XMLType column is also not very large (on an average only around 100 bytes (max might be around 1k-2k), but it takes around 1 hr for every 20K rows, which seems very slow.
    The schema is like this :
    <schema targetNamespace="http://www.citadon.com/xml/test.xsd"
    xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xdb="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xdb"
    xdb:storeVarrayAsTable="true"
    version="1.0" elementFormDefault="qualified">
    <element name="cas">
    <complexType>
    <sequence>
    <element name="ca" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <complexType>
    <sequence>
    <element name="id" type="string"/>
    <element name="value" type="string"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    </element>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    </element>
    </schema>
    Any thoughts on how to improve performance?
    -Srini

    You need to have sufficient data.. Also the event show in the following code may help depending on the nature of the query....
    Note in the PurchaseOrder Example if I only have 133 docs, instead of 10,000 I will get tablescan and index full scans

  • Aggregation at Query level

    Hi,
    Does the aggregation at query level will not work in BI7.
    As i have a key figure with aggregation type summation in backend,there were some similar records when tried to set aggregation at query level it is not working summing the key figures.
    Any suggestions.

    Are you sure there is no exception aggregation defined?

  • Regarding exception aggregation based on 2 infobjects

    Hi All,
    I have a report in which I have to use Exception aggregation based on two Infoobjects.
    How we can do it ?
    I have tried using nested aggregation but its not working.
    Example:
    I have three Infoobject :
    0Material
    0Sold_To
    ZSalesRep (Sales representative of Sold to)
    In Report:
    Rows section, I will have only ZSalesRep Infoobject.
    Column Section (i.e. the Keyfigures) I will have one keyfigure which should be calculated based on 0Sold_to and 0Material.
    Any inputs will be helpful.
    Thank you.
    Vamsi.

    Hi,
    I think exception aggregation should work in your scenario, first you get the total with reference to material and then put that key figure in reference to sold to party.
    Just check the below article for more information,
    [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d08b56a8-daf5-2e10-2397-904d6aeb55c2?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true]

  • DME thailand issue with aggregation

    Hi,
    Can any one help me in the below issue?
    Relating to DMEE for thailand
    Invoice amount in payment record 2 different requiremnt one is when it is local currency it should populate gross  amount in Dme,
    where as when it foreign currency it should populate the net amount in DME.
    To resolve this we have created one element under which 2 nodes for local curency and foregn currency.
    Now the problem is with total record. it actually aggregated the amount based on the REFERENCE ID given in the element .. since here 2 atoms are there for foregn and local if i am taking 2 reference ID's and calling both giving different reference ID .. it is giving error ..
    can any suggest how to get each total in when it is local currency and when it foregn currency ..
    is there any setting with aggregation
    thank you for your help..

    I guess E123456 Member calculation overrides the consolidation value of its children. (E123 +, E456 +...)

  • Different aggregations at different levels

    When I view the data using 'Measure Data Viewer', the items in a dimension are showing in random order.
    How do I load the data in a dimension in ascending order so I can view it in ascending order.
    Also, is it possible to apply different aggregations at different levels in a dimension?
    Thanks.

    Thank you. I will put different measures with different dimensions in different cubes.
    After I mapped my measures in the mapping canvas(I can see the mapping lines), I tried to maintain the measure. But I am getting an error 'some-measure-name may not be maintained since mapping do not exist for the measure'.
    I am using AWM 10.2.0.3A and the database is 10.2.0.4
    Thanks

  • Tree with checkbox for each level

    1. I have a tree an I want to add a check box to every node. I saw this fonctionality with Java and with a lot of programs (install with choises). I don't know if this is possible with FORMS. If not how knows a solution for this problem ?
    2. My tree is based to a SELECT and I want to add a parent for my tree
    and I don't know how to do it. The problem is this : the value for each node from the first level IS NULL.
    Thanks
    Bye

    I need this functionality because I have to select data's from a tree with 3 or 4 levels (like in the install software when we select to install only what we need).
    There is a lot of information and it's difficult to display all of it in the screen.

  • Aggregating on header-level only

    Hi experts,
    I'm facing the following scenario:
    I've got an infoprovider which contains item-level keyfigures.
    The correspoding headers have keyfigures which cannot be disaggregated to the items.
    It would not be a problem to provide a header-level infoprovider,
    and an item-level infoprovider, but I cannot find a way to bring both sources together
    in the same query.
    A concrete example:
    The header-level infoprovider contains the confirmed quantity of an production-order.
    The item-level infoprovider contains the component-materials used by this prod-order and it's quantity.
    In the target report I'd like to see the confirmed quantity of a prod-order as well as the components-level.
    The problem is, that if I provide the prod-order-quantity on the item-level, that they will be aggregated multiple-times (according to the number of components used by a prod-order).
    Example:
    Data:
    ProdOrder     Component     Conf.Qty     CompQty
    111     X     10     3
    111     Y     10     2
    112     X     10     1
    Wanted result, when aggregated on ProdOrder-Level:
    111     10     5
    112     10     1
    Actual result, when aggregated on ProdOrder-Level:
    111     20     5
    112     10     1
    Is there any way to solve that?
    I'm still fighting with the idea of exception-aggregation, but it seems as if I had not understood the concept yet.
    Best regards,
      Marco

    Hi AL,
    that's correct, and works quite good as long as I have got the prod.order in my drilldown.
    What I unfortunately did not describe: I need the "first value" of each prod-order-component cummlulated...
    So to correct my initial need:
    Wanted result, when aggregated on ProdOrder-Level:
    111     10     5
    112     10     1
    Wanted result, when aggregated completly:
    20     6
    In the way you described, I'll get

  • Why Segment shrink is not supported for tables with function-based indexes

    As we all know , Segment shrink is not supported for tables with function-based indexes.
    But i'm very confused .
    Why Segment shrink is not supported for tables with function-based indexes ?? what's its essential?

    Creating a function based index creates a hidden virtual column (you'll see it if you query user_tab_cols) and once you index a virtual column you can no longer shrink the table:orcl> create table t1(c1 number,c2 as (c1 * 2)) segment creation immediate;
    Table created.
    orcl> alter table t1 enable row movement;
    Table altered.
    orcl>
    orcl> alter table t1 shrink space;
    Table altered.
    orcl> create index i2 on t1(c2);
    Index created.
    orcl> alter table t1 shrink space;
    alter table t1 shrink space
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-10631: SHRINK clause should not be specified for this object
    orcl>so the issue is not with function based indexes per se, it is a level beneath that. Perhaps because the virtual column has no physical existance, when the row is moved there is no reason for Oracle to realize that an index needs updating? I haven't attempted to reverse engineer this, I would be interested to know if anyone else has.

  • SCM230 - Time based Capacity Leveling by decreased storage (Days Supply)

    Hi,
    Reading through the SCM230 training course on the subject of Capacity Leveling, the manual describes the following functionality:
    If you choose Time-Based Capacity Leveling by decreasing storage (days'
    supply), the system levels the order with the largest days' supply first, then
    the one with the second largest supply, and so on.
    Can anyone explain this functionality in plain English and what / where are the parameters etc to influnce it?
    Thanks for your help
    Mark

    Hi Marius,
    I understand forward and combined forward/backward scheduling in capacity leveling using SNP Heuristics/Optimizer method. However, forward leveling or combined forward/backward leveling does not fulfil the requirement because then capacity overloads (aka SNP planned orders) are shifted in future causing shortage in weeks where demand exist. Business needs a way to shift capacity overloads in previous available buckets, if available capacity exists in previous weeks or months. If sufficient available capacity does not exist in previous weeks then the remaining capacity overload should stay in the week/month where that overload occurs due to excess demand. This will provide business an opportunity to meet demand by finding alternate methods of balancing that capacity overload by either adding capacity (running machines overtime, opening up production on a non-workday) or by outsourcing that overload to sub-contractors. However, neither heuristics nor optimizer method of capacity leveling in SNP fulfils this requirement.
