Trying to contol a MC's shape with AS

I'm working on an app where a user can enter text, choose
font/color/size settings and when they click the continue button
their text appears in a new TextField in a dynamically created
movieclip. My question is: is there anyway, through ActionScript,
that I can set a curve to the text? I know how to draw a curved
line, but I want my text to curve (ie around a circle or in the
shape of a rainbow(arc)). I can't find an sort of function for
this. Is there perhaps a way to snap text to a line that I draw
with curveTo()? If anyone knows how to do this it would be a huge
help!
PS I'm using CS2. If CS3 offers this I'd like to know, but I
prefer a CS2 solution

you can use the displacementmapfilter to do that but it's not
easy to use and i'm not able to give much help using it.

Creating a symbol from shape with gaussian blur = problem

I am trying to create artwork to map to a globe using the 3D revolve effect...the problem is the shape/layer I'm using to create the "glow" effect (compound path filled with white and a gaussian blur applied):
When I create a symbol out of this, here is the problem (note the "excess" areas on the top and right):
...resulting in this messed up globe...
Doing an outer glow effect instead of gaussian blur results in the same thing (its definitely the blur causing this, deleting the shape fixes the problem). Expanding the shape with the blur results in an image the same size as the bounding box in image 2 above. Any ideas how to address this?

Mask SHAPE with shape

I'm trying to mask a shape (a circle) with +another shape+ (a square) so that the circle ends up looking like a pie with a piece cut out of it. I can only seem to mask an image with a shape, and not a shape with a shape. how do I do this? thanks!

It is odd that shapes can't mask other shapes, but there is a very handy workaround technique called "Preview Passthru". Create the shape you want, then copy it. Next, open Preview, and in the File menu, choose "New from Clipboard". This will create a new Preview document with your shape. Save this document as a PDF file, and drag that file back into your Pages document. The shape should look the same, but it is now a PDF rather than a native iWork object, and so it can be masked (but it can't be edited).

The devices are not designed for transfer of that kind. Use Photo Stream as suggested by another poster, or transfer photos to your computer (a good idea anyway since they will be lost if your device needs to be reset), then use iTunes to sync them to the other devices.

these inserts will store in two tables that I have to join in the cursor.
I have written cursor without passing cursor parameters. but here i need to pass acb_id and xyz_id along with alert_id.
then if these are saticified with alert_id 22 then I want to stop the loop run, else i need to continue the loop. bcause the abc_id and xyz_id are diff for alert_id 22
This is the issue I am facing!
Please let me know if you have any idea. Let me know how to use cursor parameters here and in loop.

I am trying to change the email address associated with my existing account to free up my university email address for use in obtaining Creative Cloud.

I am trying to change the email address associated with my existing account to free up my university email address for use in obtaining Creative Cloud. Every time I go to the account settings of my existing account (which currently uses my university email, as I set it up years ago and had no idea it'd eventually cause problems), I enter a different email to use for that account but I continuously receive an error message saying "account changes cannot be saved." It makes me think that it's because the email isn't verified (funny, it actually is verified since it has been the alternate email on the old account for years), but when I click the "send verification email" nothing happens (that is, no email is sent to that other email address).
Anyway, my university is now requiring that faculty create new accounts using our university email addresses in order to register/use Creative Cloud. Am I able to delete my old account, or can anyone help me actually change the email address associated with my old account without getting a "changes can't be saved" error?

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

Yup, it was uploaded to our school Wiki as a PDF, and Pages did open it. I was then able to move it to iBooks, but I'd rather avoid the extra steps.

This problem has been driving me demented. The instructions that Ivan gives have partially worked for me. By following his link
"How to find out if you have multiple Apple IDs" I was able to identify that yes I did have two apple accounts using the same e mail address. One was very old that I used to use for the forum boards and one is my much more recent ID that I use for everything these days. So I changed the e mail address for the old account which is associated with these discussion boards and that's the account that I am now posting this from. However even though the two accounts now have different e mail addresses when I try to log onto the boards with my more recent main apple ID I still get all the same errors as described at the start of this thread by rodgers_j. And of course that's the one I want to use so that I only have one itunes account for everything.
So if anyone has any more hints I'd be very grateful.

You haven't mentioned which version of PSE. If it is PSE 13, that requires a minimum of windows 7.
