Trying to move from xslt to jsp - any good tools?

I'm working on an app where older html is rendered through xslt and newer html is produced with jsp. i really don't care for xslt. I'm curious if there's a good tool that would allow me to use jsp files to access the information in xml. This would allow me to reuse front end code between the two sections.

Well, Java is really good at reading XML (check out DOM or SAX) and JSP uses Java ergo I'm sure you'll be able to read XML. I don't know enough about JSP to know if there are any tag libraries or something that will work but if you just want to use servlets/jsp you can definitely read XML.

As far as I know, the iPad cannot presently playback a full length movie from a DVD or any other source. Are there any plans to add such a capability to the iPad in the future?

Yes Vudu streams. iTunes does not. If you buy or rent a movie on your computer through the iTunes store, then you are legally entitled to transfer that movie to your digital device as long as that device is under the Same Apple ID used to download it to the computer, and is authorized to view the content. Usually this is the case if your device is synced with iTunes on the computer This is legal and covered by the terms of use of the iTunes store.
If your rent a movie on your computer you can also transfer it to your iPad but it will be removed from the computer as rentals can only exist in one place at a time. When the rental period expires the movie will be automatically removed from your computer or device, wherever it is when the rental period expires.
If you buy a movie on your iPad these can be transferred to your computer using the Transfer Purchases button on iTunes on your computer while the iPad is connected to it. Rentals on iPads or other mobile device cannot be transferred and must be watched in the iPad or device that download them.
All of these methods through the iTunes store download the complete movie to the device or computer, so no internet connection is required for watching at a later date.
Rentals have a 30 day life as long as they haven't begun to be watched. Once the movie has been started then it has a 48 hour expiry period. That is you must finish watching the rented movei within 48 hours of rental as after that it is removed from the device. You can watch it as many times as you want in that period of time though.

It is a web-base application and basically this would be an evolving suite of test cases. For example, if this was a purchasing system. A few test cases that we would like to run would be as such.
1. Enter in a valid Purchase Order verify expected results
2. Enter in an invalid Purchase Order verify expected results
3. Enter a purchase order with one line item
4. Enter a purchase order with multiple line items
5. Query existing purchase orders
6. Edit existing purchase orders
7. Delete a purchase order
ETC.
Would WinRunner provide this functionality? Are there any OpenSource solutions as well.

Iphone 4 is stuck in recovery mode and gives error code 2001 when trying to restore from itunes...any help?

Just downloaded the new software from itunes today for my iphone 4. While talking on the phone while plugged into macbook (charging) my call was dropped and then my phone turned off. Itunes now says it found my phone and it was in recovery mode and I need to restore it. When I try to do that I get an error code of (2001) and I am unable to go any further. any help from anyone please? Thanks. Ben

Are you using a Mac or PC? The step about ports, it not really relative to your issue (error 2001)

If that does not resolve, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue continues, it may be related to conflicting security software.
So I would try an SMC reset if you are on a Mac. But mainly, try a different USB cable if you have one.

This is on 9iAS R1 patch 15 running on Sun
We are calling all out reports from forms.
We already have a number of forms that call reports that are using the
reports servlet. All the reports come out in pdf format. Basical there are a
number of set_report_object_property calls then a run_report_object call.
Additionally in the env file set by forms_web_cfg file we have a var of
FORMS60_REPFORMAT=pdf
We have been using the CGI report server to generate tab delimited files one
could bring into Excel. I'm having problems getting a different file other
than a pdf to be generated. I'm I stuck due to the FORMS60_REPFORMAT=pdf
var? How can I override this for a tab delimited file?
I think my problem is with the REPORT_DESTYPE

I ran into an issue using delimiteddata using the CGI reports server. For some reason I was getting a couple of extra columns in the spreadsheet. Did you run into that? What did you do to fix it?

Lost trying to Move from MobileMe to ICloud

I am stuck in an endless loop. I try to turn on photo streaming and it tells me to move my MobileMe account to ICloud I Click the links and all I end up with is a page to ether find my IPhone in MobileMe or I click a link to ICloud and it wants to find my IPad. I have not been able to find anyway to move to ICloud and none of the documentation explains how to make the move.

Some users have noted that turning off mobile me sync services and back to my mac, has allowed them proceed with the upgrade to iCloud. My upgrade occured as it should have so I can't confirm this workaround works.

Trying to learn flash... Any good methods?

I'm trying to teach myself Flash and ActionScript inside and
out. I already
know Fireworks and Dreamweaver like the back of my hand so
now it's time for
Flash. I figure that to get good it will take me atleast a
year but I have
all the time in the world so that's fine. Anyways I was
wondering if anyone
knows of any sites that might offer video training tutorials?
Also are
there any other sites that are good for Flash Tutorials? I
did a search for
it on Google but honestly there are SO many tutorial sites
that it's hard to
decide which one would be a good one that covers alot of

Don't use the search function in the help files. (But do use
it in these forums!) Use the ActionScript Dictionary or the AS 2.0
Language Reference (whatever it is called in your version of Flash)
to go directly to the different classes you need.
Classes or types of things you can use – some of the
most popular are MovieClip, Button, array, and TextField. Within
each of those classes are listed properties, methods, and events.
Properties usually can be related to physical or realworld
properties. So in the MovieClip class you will find things like _x,
_y, _visible,and so forth. In the array class you might use the
length. Often properties start with an underscore, but not always.
Also they are usually nouns.
Methods are things can can be done. So in the MovieClip class
you might see the gotoAndStop() or createEmptyMovieClip() method.
They are usually verbs or sometimes a verb and a noun put together.
This is to show their active-do-somethingness. They will always
have parenthesis after them. Sometimes there will be arguments
inside of them. The help files will tell you which kind of
arguments are required and which are optional.
Events are things that happen. Again with the MovieClip class
(really the central idea that Flash is built around) you might see
the onRelease or onEnterFrame. Usually they have a preposition and
a noun. They are implemented with an "event handler" – some
code that happens whenever the event occurs.
The help files are organized by all the classes and give the
properties, methods, and events for each class. With very few
exceptions everything that can be done with a given class is
explained in the help files. And almost every entry (at least since
Flash 7) includes sample code.
I really recommend browsing through the help files, picking a
class you don't know much about, and making some little test file
to help yourself learn how to use that class.
The other piece of advice I can give is to break things up in
your head. People often post here with questions like "How do I
load an external graphic using XML?" Well if you check out the XML
class you will see that it has nothing to do with loading external
graphics – for that you want the MovieClipLoader class. So
first learn how to load some XML nodes and then use that
information to pass off the name of a graphic to an instance of the
MovieClipLoader.
A subtle distinction, but it helps if you learn how to use
each class independent of each other. They say it is hard to
remember that you started out to drain the swamp when you are up to
your *** in alligators.

Internet Usage Monitoring - Any good tools out the...

Does anybody know if the NetProtect Plus product allows you to monitor all of the Internet traffic through the the BT Infinity Wireless Router. I think this has got to be done at the Router otherwise they will sneak on with the iTouch if I just limit it to PC's/Laptops
I am not so bothered about 'blocking sites' just want to analyse how long they stay on the various sites they go to. For example 4 hrs on Facebook when they said they were 'revising'.
Or does anyone know a good reasonable product that does this.

Hi Alan,
Looks good, thanks for the detail. I will look at their products closely but I am also thinking their should be something on the router as the kids can get to that via their iPhone/iTouch and you can't install anything on those devices.
I may get Net Nanny for their Laptops and just block their other devices for a period of time each day.
Trouble is the Admin tools as part of the BT Infinity Hub are not that great, I think it is a missed opportunity for BT here.
