Trying to view a class to edit

I have extracted a class(servlet) I have developed for use in my server directory. I have lost the .java program in my NetBeans editor that I used to create the program. My only copy of the code is the .class file that I have in my server directory. I want to be able to edit the .class file again but do not know how. What must I do to view the content of this class file? Do I create another .java file and import or add the .class file to the new .java file directory? If so how do I do this? I have tried opening the .class file with an editer like notepad and copying the content into a .java file for me to edit, except when I open the .class file it gives me a wingding or heirogliphic style encoding. Again, what must I do to get a copy of the class into a .java file so I can edit the content??
Thank-you for your help.

Class files are compiled java files. You cannot edit them directly, You have to use a decompiler to to decompile the class file.
The result oftentimes contains codes that you don't write. so you have to rebuild the result of it to a new java file.
Gel has class files decompiler. -> http://gexperts.com/

  • Acrobat Pro XI is hanging after the pdf file I am trying to view/edit is opened. Do I need to re-install? Thanks..

I am trying to view and edit PDF documents but Adobe freezes and I have to exit. I have been using the software for over a year with no issues. It is a subscriber version of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.
Rebooting my computer has not helped. This has been happening for over a week.
How do I remove/ re-install the software. Windows 8.1 user.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi kevind45759405,
Since you are an annual subscriber of Acrobat XI, you are eligible to install the latest version of this software i.e. Acrobat DC that has been launched today.
You can simply install it from the Creative Cloud desktop application and activate it with your same Adobe credentials.
Let me know how it goes.

  • I'm trying to view P2 footage with their CMS - I have no edit software - I get only audio..?

I'm new to mac and just purchased an imac! I love it! However, I'm trying to view P2 (mxf) files via the CMS I downloaded. I get all the thumbnails fine, but can only play audio - I don't get any video! Any bright ideas..? I had the notion of doing a rough cut on iMovie, but I'd settle for just viewing right now!
    Thanks.

Because it says it's incompatible when it can't be, I got hope. I get error messages all the time with my iPod and iPhone that it cannot sync and that 'this device is not capapble of connecting to iTunes' stuff. I literally forget that happened, plug it in again and it works, I later realize that iTunes made a mistake, they do that.

I am a long time iTunes user but a new MacBook owner! I keep the majority of my music files on an external hard drive.   I'm trying to view all those files on my MacBook through iTunes.   With windows you would go to : File/Add To Library, and iTunes would add all your selected files to your music library BUT WOULD NOT COPY THEM TO YOUR HARD DRIVE.  In other words, if the external hard drive was connected, you could listen, drag/drop, and edit the files.   When I tried the same thing with my new MacBook... it actually started coping the files to my MacBook harddrive.  I don't want that, it's millions and millions of mp3's that I don't want to keep on my computer, only my external hard drive.   Can anyone help?    I'm sure it's something easy, I'm just so new to the Mac world.   Being an iPhone owner for many many years I'm picking up things fast, but this is getting the best of me!  Help !

In iTunes 11 uncheck the preferences setting in in the iTunes Preferences panel "Advanced > Copy Files to iTunes Media folder when adding to Library"

  • Palm Desktop shuts down when trying to view calendar by month

I'm using a Palm TX with the latest edition of Desktop installed (I think that's 6.2).  Everything is normal except, suddenly, I cannot view my calendar in monthly view.   Daily, weekly and yearly all work fine.  Desktop shuts down when trying to view in monthly view.  I did a system restart, a Desktop reinstallation, a download of the latest version and installation of that version and, finally, uninstallment of the existing Desktop, download of the newest version and installation of that version.  Nothing seems to enable me to view the calendar in monthly view.  This is a spontaneous event.  I've been running Desktop on a Vista Ultimate system since February without incident.  I have no idea about how to solve this.
    Thanks
    Post relates to: Palm TX

Well, here's where we are now.  It's a good thing that I have desktop on my office computer because when I tried a Hotsynch with my home desktop, Hotsynch wiped out all the data on my handheld and then hung up both the handheld and desktop in the middle of the Hotsynch.  I'm going to overwrite the entire handheld with the office desktop file.  As for the home setup, I'm thinking the only thing I can do now is uninstall Palm and wipe out the entire directory of files.  Am I correct about this?  Do I need to do a clean uninstall?

H.264 video should be supported by your basic Snow Leopard operating system. The DVCPRO HD family of codecs is part of the Apple "Pro" codecs package which is normally installed as part of a "Pro" video editing suite installer or contemporaneously installed separately as part of one of the newer pro editing apps like FCPX. if you already have one of these pro suites or apps installed or available, then re-install the correct codec package that is missing. If not, you will need to purchase a Pro suite or app to be able to install the required codec package.

    Hi,

Does anyone know why this would be? Is it a security issue, judging by the classes below:

  • Trying to view pdf version of school textbook in Safari

Hi- I am trying to view the online version of our class science textbook (grade 12 Science-Toronto, Canada) - we have registered it and have the correct user name and password- but keep getting an error 403 message when we try to view the pdf (http://glencoe.com/sec/science/ose/)-
The links and password work on our Windows NT computers but not on our Macs (10.4) fully updated etc.-
I have tried various combinations with and without the Schubert plug-in, Adobe plugin, Opera, IE, Firefox- followed the threads here on viewing PDFs, but all to no avail-
the textbook tech support people were of little help , though they suggested the Schubert plugin (PDF Browser Plugin). They claim Safari 2, in 10.4 should work fine-
I am open to any suggestions- having an online version of a text is a great option for our students as we simply can not afford text books for every student-
Admittedly not many of our students have macs at home, they mostly have Windows, but it would be great for them to have the choice at school when they need to catch up in the library etc.
Thanks in advance for any help

Thanks for the reply- but we are not actually hosting the online text- the publisher of the text book ( in the states) is doing that-
I have tried IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera on the mac- but no luck
our windows computers have no problems at all access the pdf-
I have encountered many websites that are not fully functional via a Mac browser but work just fine under the various microsoft/windows browsers-
maybe its my imagination, but more and more websites these days seem less and less "compatible" with Mac browsers- for example I tried downloading some software for a Kodak easyshare digicam yesterday- the page would not load properly in Safari or Opera, but appeared fully intact on the windows NT IE browser- I could go on with other examples but that is not the purpose of this forum-
I am still open to suggestions on how to access the online version of a school text in Safari
    thanks

  • Newbie - Error when trying to view .jsp file on newly running server.

Hello, I'm new and trying to view a .jsp file on my webserver and get this error:

*The .jsp file I want to view is in the correct folder, and I can view the same file if it is renamed as an .html extension.  Plz Help!!!   Thanks

What does the JSP contain? Have you tried a simple JSP without any special functions? Does that work? How about catching the exception within the JSP. Will the JSP run and display correctly (of course, without the excepted content)?
Here is an example of how you can catch the exception and prevent the JSP from failing (or at least how to prod it to display despite the error):
    <body>
       <%
// yada yada yada some code
       try{
// Yada yada yada the code that may have the IO problem
          // Yada yada yada
       }catch(IOException io){
           System.err.println("Here is the exception: "+io.toString());
%>Please post back and let us know.

    resolved this issue.
    1. Edit $APPL_TOP/admin/adovars.env file -
Add the following jar files to the AF_CLASSPATH line -
    Full path of /...../iAS/Apache/Jsdk/lib/jsdk.jar
    Full path of /...../iAS/Apache/Jserv/libexec/ApacheJServ.jar
    2. Bounce the concurrent manager in order to have the changes take effect.

  • Error when trying to view YouTube videos

I get the following error when trying to view YouTube videos in some wireless hotspots; "The server is not correctly configured".  It used to work fine at these locations.

Maybe not as many people reply as you think should because this site doesn't freaking work either!
Took me ten minutes to log in! Kept getting stupid error messages telling me this site is undergoing maintenance. Whatever.
Same exact problem here, but Chrome DOES NOT work. Changing DNS servers DOES NOT work either. It doesn't work for a lot of people.

    EDIT**
WTF this site is more broken than youtube! Constant errors and constantly unresponsive with "greyed out" buttons!
Is there any competent people left on the planet to fix this crap!?

  • I have a canon 60D and I'm trying to view images on the Ipad using the sd reader but no luck. Any help or ideas?

I have a Canon 60D and I am unable to view or transfer photos to the Ipad using the SD Card reader. I have been able to view images with a Canon T3i. Are there certain settings I need to set on the 60d or should it work automatically? anythoughts or ideas? thanks

Are the photo's you're trying to view/download in Raw?  I've had difficulty downloading Raw files, but have had no issues downloading JPEG files. Also, check a setting in your Canon, called communication.  From what I've read (I'm a Nikon D5100 guy myself), communication needs to be set to PTP, not normal.  I'm not sure how that will help if the pictures are already encoded?
Well scratch what I've written.  I just googled the 60D and supposedly, JPEG and Raw are supposed to transfer through the SD card reader easily.  So, I'm clueless.  Sorry.......

  • Authorization error when trying to view Infocube content

    Hi,
I have created one Infocube and loaded the data. When I am trying to view the contents from manage screen,im getting the below mentioned error.
Your user master record is not sufficiently maintained for object Auth Obj for  Personnel Area - 0PERS_AREA
    Message no. BRAIN805
    Diagnosis
When checking your authorizations for object 'Auth Obj for  Personnel Area - 0PERS_AREA' (technical name: ZHR_0PERSA) it was established that you do not have authorization in your user master record for this object (return code 12).
    Procedure
How you continue depends on the return code. See the online documentation for ABAP language element "AUTHORITY-CHECK". Please note:
    •     With a return code of 12, the object 'Auth Obj for  Personnel Area - 0PERS_AREA' has not been maintained in the user master, meaning there is no profile in the user master record in which this authorization object has been entered. This is, however, absolutely necessary, as all of the authorization objects created in the development class RSR are validated in the 'and' link. If the authorization is missing for only one object, the request is rejected as unauthorized.
    •     Get the person responsible for your authorization to create you a profile containing authorization for object Auth Obj for  Personnel Area - 0PERS_AREA.
    need help on this
    Thanks In Advance..

    Hi,
First check in RSSM whether your InfoProvider is checked for authorization object 0PERS_AREA. Also determine whether do you need this authorization object ?If yes, then it should be checked otherwise check mark should be unchecked. If 0PERS_AREA is checked for your InfoProvider, then you should have some value in this object when you create the role. Either *  for all values or restricted value for it. Goto Pfcg select the role and add the authorization values for the 0PERS_AREAobject.

  • ClassCastExceptions when trying to view documents from a custom document provider

I have a very basic extension of DefaultDocument that I am using as
our document representation. In the recommended strategy #3 we are
told that we need to have something that extends DocumentDef, which
this fits. However, in the deployment descriptor by default
DocumentImpl is specified. Can anyone explain to me the relationship
between DocumentImpl and DocumentDef? When trying to view documents I
get a class cast exception which also occurs if I retrofit my document
provider to use DefaultDocument instead of my custom Document. It
appears to me this is happening for a good reason... DocumentImpl is
not related to DocumentDef or at least at the very minimum DocumentDef
is not an extension or implementation of DocumentImpl.

  • Viewing the *.class and applet.class

First of all: I use Java on Windows 98 (path c:\jdk1.1.8\bin\java and c:\jdk1.1.8\bin\appletview).
    My problems are:
    1. I cann't view my *.class files. When I try to open HalloWorld.class with c:\jdk1.1.8\java I just only see the command window of DOS for a while and then nothing.
    2. When *.class is configured to be viewed by c:\jdk1.1.8\java every one will have problem viewing applet_file.class.
    Please help!

Hmm.... if this is not a trick question: no one can "view" a class file. it is the compiled version of a "YourProgram.java" file. to edit a program, you edit the "text" file ( YourProgram.java ) and NOT the YourProgramName.class file which is created by the compiler when you compile a java file. In short, you cannot edit a .class file; you edit the .java file. good luck!
