Trying to write to a directory outside the container

I want to write to the equivalent of C:\store, however, because I'm using Linux, I want to write to /store. I have tried adding
<virtual-directory virtual-path="/store" real-path="/store/" />
and
<virtual-directory virtual-path="/store" real-path="~//store/" />
and
<virtual-directory virtual-path="/store" real-path="/../../../../../store/" />
to {OC4J_HOME}/j2ee/home/application-deployments/myApp/myApp/orion-web.xml with no success. The webapp still tries to write to
{OC4J_HOME}/j2ee/home/store
Can I write outside the oc4j container?

VOD changes won't help him, he said outside the applications
folder. According to adobe any new vod folders must be in the
applications folder, hence virtually worthless for most purposes. A
better question may be, how do you specify a folder on a different
local hard drive. I wish adobe wouldn't make it so complicated, it
should be a really simple matter.

Trying to write code for clicking on the links that are in HTML table

I have an application, where in I created a table test for one HTML table. The table test case is passed. Now I am trying to write some VBA code for clicking on the links that are in the table.

I was trying to write the following code:

This writes the links to the Results log. but is there a way to assign this value to an integer.

Refresh JNDI tree when accessing from outside the container

Hello,
I wrote a tool (a simple main class) which runs a thread to simply check the DataSources stored in an Application Server's JNDI tree (to see, if they can be used by other tools).
The problem is: Once the thread is running, it always gets the same DataSource back, no matter if the DS's properties changed. Let me describe what happens:
1. I defined a DataSource in Orion 2.0.5's data-sources.xml
2. Testing it with an application in the container works fine.
3. I start my external tool, which gets the DataSource and checks it - it works
4. Then I stop the container and change the DataSource props in a way that the connection won't be established (i.e. wrong url)
5. After restarting the container, the aplication in the container throws the expected SQLException
6. But the external tool (which is still running) does its next lookup for the DataSource and gets a valid one and claims that everything is fine.
Well, it seems to me that the external tool outside of the container somehow gets a copy of the JNDI tree (or something) and does no real lookup, but I just don't know. Another hint is, that - unless I do a context.list(""); before looking up the object - the container did not even need to run after the first lookup from the external tool - it just needed one lookup and afterwards I could stop the container without having the external tool recognizing any changes. Well, it at least recognizes that now by the above mentioned context.list(""); ...
I hope I explained it right, let me just add some code of my tool.

Trying to write an if statement around the return value of a CANCEL_OPTION

I am writing a program that takes an input String using JOptionPane. The String can be made of only letters of the A-Z alphabet and the space character. I have written an error-checking loop that will pop another input box up along with an error message if any invalid character is detected. The input box has an 'ok' button and a 'cancel' button. As it is, if you hit cancel, the program crashes and you get a NullPointerException. All I want to do is place an if statement inside of the error-checking loop, immediatly after the code to pop up the second input box, that simply does System.exit() and exits the program correctly(rather than crashing) if 'cancel' is clicked.
My attempt at such an if statement is visible in the following code(letter is a boolean variable defined earlier, and message is the input String that has already been read in):

I've tried changing 0 to 1 to 2 to -1(I really am not sure which int return value of CANCEL_OPTION corresponds to which event). I think once I got to do the exact opposite...that is to say, it would continue on with the program whether I clicked 'cancel' or 'ok'. Which is equally bad. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
It's probably something simple that I'm just overlooking.

Well, here's what CANCEL_OPTION is, according to the JOptionPane class:

With JOptionPane, whenever you show a dialog, it usually returns whatever OPTION the user chose.
For instance,
    int choice = JOptionPane.showConfirmDialog(parentComponent, "hello");That will bring up a dialog centered on parentComponent, with a message of "hello".
It will have the default options (YES_NO_OPTION).
What it returns is the option the user chose.
There are 4 possible things it can return:
YES_OPTION, when user clicks "Yes"
NO_OPTION, when user clicks "No"
ERROR_OPTION, when an unforseen error occurs and the dialog closes
CANCEL_OPTION, when the user clicks "Cancel" (if that OPTION type were being used), or if they close the dialog
So this is how you would check for CANCEL_OPTION:

However, it seems as if you're in a unique situation where you don't want the OPTION chosen by the user, but an input String.
This is all well and good, but I think this limits how you can interact with the user, as the "showInputDialog" methods return the String the user input- not the OPTION they chose, and you need to use both.
What I've done in the past is created a simple JPanel with its own JTextField.
I pass the JPanel in as the "message" parameter of a showConfirmDialog call, and get both the user input and their chosen OPTION based off a getText call to the JTextField and the OPTION constant returned by showConfirmDialog.
Basically,

(note that I'm unsure if showConfirmDialog can accept OK_CANCEL_OPTION as its OPTION parameter, as it says only YES_NO_OPTION and YES_NO_CANCEL_OPTION can be used, but I seem to remember using it in the past. if OK_CANCEL_OPTION doesn't want to work, then use one of the other two and adjust your if statements accordingly)

Problem if trying to invoke a EJB from outside the .ear in which its deploy

(?i)^(.+?)FREE should find the first instance in a paragraph. The (?i) makes the search case insensitive in case it wasn't typed as all caps, the ? inside the second grouping makes the shortest match for cases when there is more than one instance in a paragraph, and I've not added any quotes since I presumed those aren't actually in the text.
I would deal with the formatting by typing FREE exactly as you want it someplace on the pastebord, then copy to the clipboard. Change to $1~c which replaces the found string with the text found in the first subexpression (.+?), which is the stuff before the first FREE, and the the formatted contents of the clipboard for the FREE.

I am trying to write a tv script and the only options I have is for UK screenplay's. I would like to change this to US screenplay how do I do this?

I am new to the Adobe Story and would like to be able to select the option for US screenplay template when selecting tv script. I do not see this option. How do I get it to show up?

There are no U.S. screenplay templates, however, you can customize an existing template if you wish.

You should not need to use special operaors for the format date/time string, the format should simply be"%Y-%m-%d"

Accessing files outside the root of the site.

On my web host space I have access to a directory outside the
root of the
website i.e. "private"
I want to store files there for download after users have
purchased them.
I want to put them here to stop people ripping the files off
by guessing the
link or useing a website copier.
What I plan to do is send a link to the user via email, this
link will then
go to a download page which records the user has accessed the
file and then
have the page automatically download the file.
I can do this no problem if I have the files in a directory
under the root
of the site but how can I link to the files outside the root?

How do I use the containing folder's name to rename files on export

I'm trying to write a script that takes the folder name that the active document resides in and uses it as part of a new name.
So, let's say I have a file called "strawberries.jpg" that is 1000x1000px and resides in a folder called "good-fruit". I want the script to export the final file as a TIFF like this:
good-fruit/good-fruit-strawberries-1000x1000.tiff
Thus far, I've managed to use alerts to figure out how to grab document name, beginning size, current folder path:

Which results in an alert that says: This document is strawberries.jpg and is 1000x1000 and resides in: ~/Desktop/Folder/good-fruit/
But I cannot figure out how to cut off the beginning of doc.path (i.e. ~/Desktop/Folder/) so I can just add "good-fruit" to the final name. I also can't figure out how to insert "good-fruit" before the extension of the image.

It is regular expression and yes it is use for pattern matching. The forward slashes are used to start and end the expression when it is create this way( literal ). Another way to create one would be to make an explicit declaration var re = new RegExp('\.[^\.]+$').
Some chars in regular expressions have special meaning. The dot char normally means match any char. The blackslash is used to escape that special meaning so \. means match the dot char. The [ and ] are used for char sets. Those are normally used when you only want to match specific chars [aeiou] would match any English vowel. The ^ used inside the brackets means 'not' so [^\.] means match any char that is not a dot( or any char except an dot ). If used outside of brackets the ^ char means at the start. The + means match the preceeding one or more times. In this case match any non dot char one or more times. The $ means at the end of the string.
So putting that althougher you have 'match a . followed by one or more chars at the end'.

Trying to write a Listener on a CheckBox to change the Model of a ComboBox

I am trying to change the list that appears in a ComboBox dynamically based on if a CheckBox is selected or not. I have multiple CheckBoxes and ComboBoxes being created in a loop based on a variable assigned at creation. Every tutorial i have seen writes out a listener that explicitly defines the checkbox instance but in my case i don't acctually know. My checkboxes are in an array of checkboxes as are the comboboxes as they are being created at runtime. Any help would be much apreciated this issue has been with me for two days now.

I have tried several different ways to write the listener, the example in the code above is following the java swing tutorial by explicitly defining the checkbox. I have tried to write the listener as i am creating the checkbox, which doesn't seem to work or i am wrting it wrong, which is entirely possible. Once the listener sets the value i think it should repaint the screen but i am sure that that is wrong right now as well. As my hunch is the repaint will reset the checkbox to DESELCTED the default value. I will come to that issue once i figure out how to get the listener working. Ideally i want to be able to set the listener for the checkboxes regardless as to how many there are. As stated above i am generating a list of checkboxes, comboboxes and other fields based on a variable that is defined in one of my objects. If the user selects checkbox 3 than combobox 3 should be changed, and the others should not. if the user selects all the checkboxes than all the comboboxes change.
