TS_EngineNewExecution () takes about 10 seconds on one machine, 1 on another

How can I stop the 10 second delay? I've rebooted, and the function isn't failing, it's just too slow.

To bmihura -
I am thinking of the traditional "Debug Output" that is available in MSVC and CVI 7.x, i.e. calls to the SDK function OutputDebugString the debugger collects. I do not think that CVI 6.0 supports this. These messages can slow down a debugged process.
I ran the default CVI OI from TS 2.0.1 in the debugger on my system, which is similar to yours, and the performance was almost identical, under a second.
Questions:
1) Do you see this performance hit when debugging your OI when you run a client sequence that is empty and without using a process model, i.e. Run MainSequence?
2) Do you see this performance hit when debugging your OI when you run a client sequence that is empty but using your pro
cess model?
3) Do you see this performance hit when using the default CVI OI that ships with TestStand?

  • Opening files from a Novell-Share takes about ten seconds

    Hi there,
first a few information about our environment:
Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 Clients with Novell Client installed in latest version
    Windows Server 2008 R2 DCs
    Network-shares based on Novell Netware
When accessing files on Novell-Shares for the first time it takes about 10 seconds to open. Reopening it or any other file at this location again is totally fast. Waiting about 15 minutes after closing the file causes the lag again.
We traced our client-side network traffic and saw many Netbios-queries which failed because our WINS-Servers do not know the Netware-Servers. So first it tried it using every WINS-Server (three in our env.) and then on broadcast in the local subnet three
times. It got no answer and timed out.
So the next step I tried was to disable Netbios-over-TCP/IP with the radio buttons in the Network Adapter settings. After a reboot, the problem reoccured, but there were no more Netbios queries in the trace.
After days of searching for a solution I tried to stop the "TCP/IP-Netbios-Helper"-Windows Service on spec. And suddenly every network share access was totally fast. We tried this with other clients, too. Same behavior! We even did not disable
the NetBios-over-TCP/IP setting. Stopping the service was all we needed to do.
Unfortunately disabling the service causes problems. The Windows-Login fails with a message "No Logon servers available". Using the full qualified user name ("[email protected]") works. But then we saw that policies were not applied.
Any ideas, what could cause the lag? Or is it possible to disable this service without any side-effects?
    Bye,
    Jürgen

    Hi,
What is the result if we access files on other network shares?
I found a thread in novell forum and suggestion is checking the provider order and put Netware first, open network and sharing center, change adapter settings, Select Advanced on the menu> Advanced settings, Click on Provide Order Tab and change order.
And have you contact the novel support team? They're more familiar with this product.

Firefox 4.0 takes about 60 seconds to start. I have tried reinstalling with no change. It isn't antivirus software, as I turned that off and it was still slow. I run Vista Ultimate. Internet Explorer loads very quickly.

I wish my Firefox would load in 16 seconds!! It takes 3 to 4 mins to load but closes almost instantly.

    I figured it out!
I read a solution for something that sounded similar.
    Anyone in similar position:
Open iTunes app on iPhone, and pick an option from bottom, such as music. Then scroll down to bottom of page and where your iTunes ID is, press on it, and pick sign out.
Then return to home screen, and double press home button and press and hold on first icon showing, until a minus symbol appears in the top left of icons present. Press on each minus symbol on each app in turn, until all app icons have disappeared. Then Restart the phone by pressing and hold the home button and the on/off/standby button at top of phone, until the apple symbol appears in centre of blank screen.
Swipe to turn phone fully on and open settings and scroll down to iTunes and apps option and tap that. Pick sign in and put in your apple ID, it will accept it and then return to home screen and open iTunes a you'll find it works fine
Simple really, but some like me won't think f this themselves!
    Hope that helps

  • Activation of Samsung 226BW Monitor takes about 15 seconds

Since I have upgraded Mac OS X to Yosemite (10.10) (currently using 10.10.1) my Samsung SyncMaster monitor (226 BW) on Thunderbold takes about 15 seconds for activation. Before I can see a picture on the monitor there is just a rustle with gray and black. I also know a second case where this problem is absolutely the same.
Has anyone an idea how to solve this? I am using the original Apple Thunderbold to DVI adapter. The problem only occurs if I plugin the thunderbold adapter while my MacBook Pro is already running.

  • Wlan authentication and DHCP process takes about 120 seconds

I have an SSID implemented to terminate on an anchor controller. Authentication takes place outside of the CAPWAP tunnel and the foreign controller authenticates the users with the AAA server directly. This authentication takes about 90-120 seconds and I do not see any problems as far as configuration is considered. This authentication traffic goes through 2 firewalls.
Any ideas on where the problem could be? I use the same AAA server for other SSID authentication and so the problem is not related to the AAA server.

My response is meant more to Apple in general and is certainly not aimed at you Lennart ;-) I wouldn't want to shoot the messenger!!!
If this were an unusual or isolated event, then perhaps re-installing the OS might be considered a solution, but until we determine why and how this is happening to so many systems, this is only a workaround that offers no guarantee that we won't end up right back here at any time. I'm sorry, but an OS reinstall to repair a widespread issue with an errant system level process that is making systems practically unusable is only a band-aid and not a final solution! (not that I won't do it myself ;-), but Apple needs to address the issue and not ask us to re-install the OS that caused/experienced the issue in the first place. Address the root cause not a symptom! Even though they make it fairly simple, an OS re-install is not something I accept as a trivial process to be used when one process is acting up.)
Thanks Lennart for at least an immediate answer to make (i hope) both of my MacBooks usable again!

  • Why doesn't my 3-week old MacBook Air 13" shutdown in about 3 seconds anymore? It now takes about 10 seconds to do so.  Last major activity I can think of is the software upgrade which I did yesterday.

My MacBook Air is barely a month and it suddenly shuts down way slower than it used to.  It used to take just 3 seconds.  I do not have much installed, except for an HP Printer and the MS Office suite.   It shut down just as fast even after I installed them.. I noticed it shut down at least about 10 seconds sometime after I updated the software yesterday to Mac OS X version 10.7.1.  Is this nornal?  I would prefer the snappier shut down process.:-(

  • IPhone takes about 10 seconds to get recognized by PC

When I plug in my iPhone to my PC for the first time after a system restart, it takes about 7-10 seconds for it to get recognized by the PC. On any subsequent plug-ins, the phone gets recognized, and starts charging and all, almost instantly.
I have tried reinstalling the iPhone driver, but that didn't help. Does anybody know what causes this? I don't have a similar problem with other USB devices, so it's not my PC's hardware's fault.
    Thanks.

My girlfriend has the same problem as you - her iPhone is less than a week old, and already the home button is becoming unresponsive. I encourage you as I encourage her to use the button on the top of the phone more until a more permanent solution can be found, unless of course that guy is bugging out too...
We're going to go through the usual reset / restore motions the next chance we have, and maybe even take it to a genius bar this weekend if we have the time. I will let you know if I have any success.

  • Kinit takes about 12 seconds to authorize a user

I am being told that there is a problem with my Open Directory config. They tell me to type kinit myusernamehere at the terminal and see if it asks for a password instantly or if there's a delay. There is a delay of about 12 seconds.
Can someone help me fix this? It is causing an unacceptable delay with OD users when they are logging in.
    Message was edited by: TC10284

Roughly the same effect, but not exactly -- without knowing what's causing the problem, it's rather hard to tell exactly what'll fix it.
One thing occurs to me: check the file /Library/Preferences/edu.mit.Kerberos, and see what's listed as the kdc address (in the \[realms\] section, not in \[logging\]). Under some circumstances, this can get bogus entries listed, which means the clients may need to make several tries before finding a valid address for the KDC.
If that's the problem, destroying & repromoting should fix it, as would swapping replicas. Or, if you're feeling daring (and have backups of everything important), you could try to edit it directly: In Workgroup Manager's preferences, enable 'Show "All Records" tab and inspector, then select "All Records" (the bullseye tab that just appeared to the right of users, groups, computers, and computer groups tabs), then "Config" from the pop-up menu under that, then KerberosClient from the list under that, then "XMLPlist" on the right, then "Edit" below that (if you don't have an Edit button, you may need to authenticate to the domain first). You're now editing the XML property list that edu.mit.Kerberos is created from (maybe you should copy it into a text file in case something goes wrong); you need to remove bogus entries from the arrays under the KADM_List and KDC_List keys, then increase the generationID by one. Then run "sudo kerberosautoconfig" on a client to force it to update, and test again.

  • Opening connection to SQL Server take about 20 seconds

    Hello!
When I connecting to SQL Server 2000 throwgh JDBC, method getConnection() work about 20 seconds. What the reason of this behavior may be? I use JDBC driver from Microsoft.
    Sorry for my English.
    Thank you.

I cleared up the reason of such effect myself. May be it will be interesting somebody. The cause was in absence of server name on DNS server!

We're comparing the converted/migrated workspaces from each machine. the workspace only has one entity/one view/one app module, and a servlet with two user defined exceptions and an error page.

For 1 of the 15 times I tried to open the workspace it opened and compiled ok.
Then, I got the second error anyway. However, the second error was resolved by UNDOING a change that I did to the \jdev1013\ord\jlib folder. I don't understand why the files in that folder are so "dated":

2 Dir(s)  39,367,634,944 bytes freeThe reason that I replaced them (with the 10.1.2.1 version) was that an interMedia servlet I wrote for 10.1.2.1 would not work in 10.1.3:
    Here was that code:
// worked in 10.1.2 with 10.1.2 JDBC drivers.
// Error(78,56): method getORADataFactory() not found in class oracle.ord.im.OrdDoc
                  // OrdDoc pdf = (OrdDoc) rset.getORAData(1, OrdDoc.getORADataFactory());
                  // copied 10.1.2.1 ord jars into: C:\jdev1013\ord\jlib
// ok in 10.1.2 and if jars copied in
                  ORADataFactory ordDocFactory = null;
                  ordDocFactory = (ORADataFactory) OrdDoc.getORADataFactory();
// now what do I do in 10.1.3 for interMedia??
