in Settings>WiFi - you've got it turned on right ?
Do you see your network in the list "Choose a Network" ?

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

I want to prevent MyDay from starting up when I switch on. I have followed all instructions for doing this, but to no effect. I have unlocked and relocked.

I use an Macbook from 2006 with OS X 10.7.5
MyDay starts up every time I switch on. I don't use it, so want to remove it from the list of programs which start automatically. I have followed all instructions for doing this, and have of course unlocked and relocked the relevant page in Systems Preferences, but the instruction never 'sticks', and MyDay still starts every time. Anyone know what to do?

Check StartupItems...
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
/Library/StartupItems
Click Go. If you see any reference to MyDay, delete it. That does not delete the app Just keeps it from launching when you startup your Mac.
Just to be sure, you checked System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items ??
Unlocking or locking the padlock icon only prevents other users from changing your preferences.

Firefox unable to connect after brand new first time installation, IE can load fine, I have followed all directions for firefox can not connect but other programs can, and it did not solve the problem

I have gone over these instructions numerous times and I still cannot add music from itunes library on my laptop to my iphone. What am I doing wrong?

Is it on a NTFS drive?
Mac can read but not write to NTFS, and it does not see all NTFS drives equally well.
To write to NTFS I use and recommend Paragon Software $20 NTFS for Mac OS X.
Ideally move iTunes to a Mac HFSX format drive though.

I dont know what to do - I have done everything in all of the instructions on how to connect to itunes....but to no avail. This is arecent problem. It just started happening to me - on my Mac Pro.
I have spoken to Comcast, I have rest my Network, I have deleted files, I have updated to the latest version, reset my password, and several other things. I am not sure why Apple doesnt want me to connect.
Seems like I am asked to update itunes every week but they cannot figure out how to connect me to the itunes store. Sigh.
I support Apple - but I am happy to start to buy music on Amazon.com if Apple cannot figure this one out. Seems like miloipns of others have this same problem and nothing happens.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

If you have an available balance, it will show up next to your Apple ID when looking at it within iTunes on your computer or iOS device. Check out the first two articles to review and make sure that you have an available balance to spend. If you do and you were billed incorrectly, then report the issue to the iTunes Store by following the steps in the last article.

What to do next if you follow all steps and still can't the iPad out of recovery mode?

I followed all steps by ensuring I downloaded the latest version of iTunes but to no avail, my iPad 2 is still in recovery mode. I refused to give greedy arse Apple anymore money which I know is their ultimate goal...What to do??? I know there was a tech person on here, Techmadness I think was his/her screen name and he/she mentioned something about "firmware"...Please help somebody, anybody, someone, anyone

Placing your device into recovery (DFU) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
   1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
       other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
   2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
       until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
              * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
                Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
                release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
       device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
       let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
       charge, and then start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
       When this screen appears you can release the Home button:

I have followed all suggestions. Still can't fix the problem. After an update, my profile seems to be blocked.

My Toshiba laptop went through 45 updates, and now when I open Firefox (where ALL my bookmarks live) the program freezes after a few minutes. I have updated my PSE9 and still can not open the RAW files from my new camera, I get an error?

I bought a new camera (Canon T5i) and took photos in RAW, tried to open them in PSE9 and they wouldn't open. I got the following error...

I have been to the link & downloaded what update it had. I have also done the available updates on my PSE9 and I am still getting this error messge. When I called Canon regarding this they said I needed to contact Adobe.
Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong or not doing so I can open these files???

The T5 is supported by Camera RAW 8.4 which needs PSE12. You can use the Canon software to convert RAW to TIF or the Adobe DNG Converter. Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

HT201210 during a software update on my ipad it crashed. I can no longer see it in itunes. and the picture on the ipad shows the cord and the itunes icon. I have attempted to restore following all instructions and nothing helps. any advice?

I attached Ipad to my computer to sync. I received a message indicating there was a new version of the software. During the update, the Ipad crashed. The screen on the ipad is showing the iTunes icon and the USB cord. The ipad no longer shows up in my devices. Same here. And iTunes doesnt recognize the ipad anymore, even though it works fine with my iphone. Plugged the ipad into my other laptop, i get the recovery mode message, but nothing works.
