I have done everything there is to do. Reset my netgear reset password etc and still no connection.  I use to have connection but got a new I pad and can not set it up.

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Do not reset your router. Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • Open Directory is not providing a secure connection

    I've been setting up Yosemite Server, but I haven't been able to get a second Mac to join onto the Open Directory service. When clicking Join… in Accounts Preferences on the client machine, and entering the address, it asks me whether I want to trust the server's certificates, which I do; and then, in a second dialog, it says "This server does not provide a secure (SSL) connection. Do you want to continue?"
    My question, simply, is how do I confirm that my server is providing a secure Open Directory connection? If it's not, how do I enable it, and if it is, how do I convince my client to use it?
    Background:
    After doing the initial setup, I turned on Open Directory before noticing that the host name was not correct—I had not changed it from "Xxx.local". So I changed it to the correct domain as pointed to by an external DNS server. It mentioned that I'd have to reconfigure a number of services, Open Directory among them. I turned Open Directory off, then on, and confirmed in the Certificates section that all services were using the newly-generated certificate with the correct domain name. I turned on Profile Manager, and added a test network user, and an encrypted-only (SMB3) share for its home folder. For good measure, I turned on the Websites service.
    At several points along this process, I tried to get the client to join the server's Open Directory, each and every time with the same message that the server does not provide a secure connection. I removed the applicable certificates on the client and tried again, just to be sure it wasn't using an outdated version of them—to no avail. The error is exactly the same whether I use the global .com hostname, the .local hostname, the global IP, or the local 10.0.1.x IP.
    The server is running Mac OS X 10.10.1, and the client MBP is on 10.10.
    The client is currently on the local network, but I aim to use Portable Home Directories and sync from other locations, so an unsecured OD connection is obviously unacceptable.
    Any advice would be dearly appreciated!

    First, follow the instructions in this support article to configure the clients to use the server's certificate to bind via LDAPS. The common name in the certificate must match both the server's hostname and its domain name, as resolved by the clients. You will get nowhere if those conditions aren't met.

  • Connected Touchpad to Work Computer now I get "Network Login Message" No internet Connection

    I tried charging my Touchpad on my work computer the USB icon showed up on TP.  After charging, I could no longer access the internet.  I'm constantly getting Network Login required, No internet connection.
    I have no problems using at home or at various hot spots, but at work, no matter what I do I get the same message.  I've tried to power off/on router.. didn't work.  Rebooting my TP.. didn't work.  Changing Chanels on Router.. didn't work.  I don't know if a factory reset is needed or the doctor fix is needed.  I read just about every post on this form, but I 'm a novice and am having difficulty turning the tech talk into layman's terms. 
    Additionaly, I would like to know how to make my TP more useful with regard to using on the Android market, but I don't want to brick the unit.  I purchased in 2011 to use at work and can't use it due to the problems listed. 

    I'm not sure what the fix is for the network issue at work.  Does the TP even recognize the network at your office?  You could try a full erase reset as a less-drastic step than doctoring.
    As for Android on your TP, it is not officially supported here, but I can tell you that it's the bomb.  I have CM9 on one TP, and CM10 on another.  They both work great, very stable.  Suggest you check out CM9 here, and and CM10 here.  Beyond that, it's pretty much self-help on installation.  Of course, it is also at your own risk.

  • Sony Vaio not recognising Wifi/Internet connections since System Refresh ... Help!

    I'm using Windows 8.1 on a Sony Vaio SVE1512C6EW.  It was running really slow, so I did a System Refresh and deleted a few programmes. Now it is not recognising Wifi/Internet connections and Audio doesn't work.  I don't know if I deleted the driver or it was the refresh.  Please help!

    Here in Sony Support USA for Vaio, we do not recommend System Refresh right away since your issue was slow performance. You could uninstall programs and check for viruses/malicious programs first, running Vaio or Windows update, etc. You are right about drivers. There is a possibility that some drivers and software are not properly installed or was deleted after the refresh. You may try this first: Go to Device manger -> Network adapter -> select the name of the adapter -> right click and select Uninstall (DO NOT DELETE). Restart the laptop. The default driver will be reinstalled. You may do the same process in Audio, just select Sound, video and game controllers. Check again if you the will connect to the internet.  
    If none of these work then you need to visit Sony's website (based on your location or from where you purchased the unit) and download the needed drivers.

    i connected with the adobe people through 'contact an agent'.
    very helpful, they remote managed my desktop to fix the issue.
    apparently something to do with permissions not activated for adobe, not sure how and why this happens though, or why it was fine earlier and suddenly stoppped.
    they insisted it was to do with being on a wifi connection but that's not possible because i have my laptop right next to my desktop and that was working fine.
    it took about four hours to fix though, so be patient!

Versions 22 and 23 use a stub program that goes to the internet and installs the program. My server does not have an internet connection, so the stub program does not work.     The path to this file on my Windows 8.1 computer is:
    C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    where my username is Steve.
    Windows 7 will have the same sort of path.  Windows XP won't.
    AppData is a hidden system folder so it may be invisible in Explorer.  Just go ahead and type in AppData in the Explorer address bar after you've clicked into your user folder and it should work.

    I might have found a solution,that works for me with windows XP. First restart the computer and don't start up itunes. Open Norton Internet Security and click on Status and Settings. Then click on personal firewall and then click on Configure, and click on the Programs tab. Scroll through the list of programs until you have goten to Apple itunes. Change the interntet Access to Permit All. Once you have saved these settings start up itunes. That worked for me. Please tell me if this helps anyone.

    Set it up with SMB compliant names.. that means, short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
    Set a different name for 2.4ghz and 5ghz..
    Set security to WPA2 personal with pure alphanumeric password.. 10-20 characters is usually plenty.
    Set wireless channel for 2.4ghz to manual and try channels 11, 6, 1 in that order.

    Two requirements that must be met to do what you want.......
    1) An AirPort Express 802.11n must be used. Check the Model No on the label on the side of the Express. It needs to be A1264. Any other model number will not do what you want.
    2) The Express must be configured to "Join a wireless network" and the option to enable Ethernet Clients must be checked. 
    Open AirPort Utility and click Manual Setup
    Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
    The box to "Allow Ethernet Clients" must be checked
    Please check to verify that your AirPort Express meets both requirements

    i still have the same problem.... mine to, keeps circleing.... the icon for the wi-fi shows ( next to the carrier ) but it still searches for the network... usually, right after it finds it a check mark appears.... this time, i keep getting a circle.. this is happening at work...
    this past wekeend, i had the same problem at home. My wife had no problem with the wi-fi on her i-phone but mine was circleing....i turned off the router for a couple of minutes, the iphone found my netwrk, i entered my password and it worked.... but this time i'm at work and it keeps doign the same things.... it sees the network, i've entered the password but it keeps circleing... just last week it was working  with no issues at work....
