  • Mail Account Isn't Working

I set up a mac email account when I first got my iMac a month ago. Since then, I have not been able to send any messages, receive any messages, or do anything with mail. A window opens saying The connection to the server “smtp.mac.com” on port 25 timed out. I'm not sure which other server to connect too. I hope this can be fixed! It is such a great computer!
    Thanks.

Click here and follow the instructions.

  • My mail account isn't working, my mail account isn't working

How do i adjust my mail pop server it was fine but something happen. I am using msn

In mail, if you lick on window and Connection Doctor, what does it tell you about that connection? It may have a red dot next to  the incoming and outgoing servers. If you click on the problem statement, it will take you where you need  to go to fix it.

  • HT5361 The quit line in my mail application is not accessible and stops me from shutting down my computer (it displays a message saying that "mail has blocker shutdown"

?  the quit option in my mail application is not accessible and stops me from shutting down.  Does anyone know what is wrong?  It started after my cable company installed a  new router and modum.

    Linda,
see the link on the right with the highlighted tick. In short click on the apple icon at top left and choose the wayward app from the 'force quit' dialogue.   Another way is to put an icon in the dock for the Apple utility, "Activity Monitor". Set it to show all users processes and highlight that for the wayward app. The choose 'Quit Process'.  BE CAREFUL, do not choose the low number processes which are fundamental operations for the whole OS.

  • I can't use some of the buttons in my Yahoo Mail account

This is one of the reasons I stopped using Pale Moon. I cannot use half of the buttons in my Yahoo Mail account HALF of the time, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Same issue with Fonts, I am looking at 5 different size fonts right now even though I have changed all of them to the same size and unchecked the box that allows websites to choose fonts for me. Do you want everyone on the planet to use IE? These are BASIC things, CHECK MY EMAIL, BE ABLE TO READ ON MY COMPUTER.

Web mail service providers don't always offer the same options for other browsers that they do for Internet Explorer. Ask NHS about that issue.

  • I cannot open iphoto- the message I am getting says Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Comma

i cannot open iphoto- the message I am getting says Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command-
I tries and it doesnt work!!

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Which version of Mail are you using as well as which Snow Leopard version you are using?

  • What happened to the quit option?

the quit option disappeared from the menu after the last update.

On Android 4 and higher you can press the app switch button and swipe Firefox (or any other app) to close.
You could install the QuitNow extension if you need the menu item back.

  • My iPhone 4S says it cannot access the server to my yahoo mail account

My iPhone 4S says it cannot. Access the server to my yahoo mail account, although it did until 2days ago

Only by the use of third-party software, like this:
    http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/
There is no supported way to do so. Be aware, photos synced to your phone were reduced in resolution for display on your phone. There is no way to recover their full resolution.
You should be backing up your Mac. If you did so, you wouldn't be facing this issue.

  • Mail Accounts syncing not working

When I got my iPhone I originally setup access to one of my mail accounts directly on the device, so never came across this problem. When I recently set iTunes to "Sync selected Mail accounts" and added my other accounts, I came across some problems.
First of all, I got the "iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone… because an error occurred remapping record identifiers."
I got around this by painstakingly adding only 1 account at a time, then syncing, then adding another account, then syncing, etc.
I've kept "Sync selected Mail accounts" checked, but now every so often when I sync my iPhone (by docking it) I'll lose ALL my mail settings on the device. Of course, I don't usually find this out until I'm away from my computer and try to use Mail on the iPhone
Has anyone else come across this problem (disappearing Mail settings?) or a fix?
I've already tried restoring the iPhone, but this problem persists.
For now, I am configuring Mail manually on the iPhone and leaving mail accounts syncing in iTunes off.

Check Damon's response in this thread with instructions for resetting the sync history on your Mac.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1277299&tstart=0
If this is successful, and the email account settings for selected email accounts are successfully transferred to your iPhone, you can deselect this option. The sync process for email account settings is in one direction only - from your computer to your iPhone. Unless a change is made to the settings for an account on your computer that you want reflected on your iPhone, there is no reason to continue to sync email account settings every time you sync.

  • MAIL account isn't able to receive new mail.

MAIL account decided not to receive any new messages a couple of days ago after working seamlessly for three years.  MAIL still comes through on my IPAD.  I have tried shutting MAIL down.  And, I have tried rebooting.  I have checked my account settings.  All good.  Any ideas?  Has it to do with a bandwidth problem do you think?  My IMAC and IPAD connect to the internet via an Airport Extreme router.

    Hello Kenfromsk and MangoN,
I have managed to resolve the problem of not being able to received my AOL e-mail via Lion Mail.
It was quite drastic action so please save any e-mails that you have on the Mac rather on the e-mail server.  All of mine are on AOL's server.
The solution I found was. Firstly shut down Mail then via Go to Home (in the drop down menu) then Library and find the Mail folder.
Deleted all the files within the Mail Folder that related to your e-mail provider, in my case AOL.   Do not delete the Mail folder itself.
Once you have done this re-launch Mail and let the mail assistant take you through re-establishing your e-mail account.
It worked for me and I hope it does for you.  Please let me know how you get on.
    Best Regards,
    Maurice 49.

  • Secondary e-mail account doesn't work

I noticed today that my Secondary e-mail account wasn't working. My mobile Me account works. The other account has lost its draft, send, trash icons. When you try to check mail on that account the phone reverts to the home screen. I have synced, restored, deleted the secondary account and created a new one. The messages can be received/sent but not viewed. That account on my mac works great. During the restore process it notifies me that there is a file missing but doesn't say which one.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks

Create your MobileMe account on your iPhone and turn Contacts and Calendars on for over the air syncing with your MobileMe account settings on your iPhone. If you have a MobileMe account and are syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with your MM account on your iPhone, you don't need to sync contacts and calendar events direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process.
Try syncing iTunes content including the music, video, podcasts, and 3rd party apps you want transferred/installed on your iPhone, but don't select anything under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences.
If no problems with this, try selecting the single iPhoto album you want transferred to your iPhone under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences. If the same error message is provided, this narrows it down to transferring photos only which means there is a problem with what is called the iPod Photo Cache, which can be deleted from iPhoto.
