Good news! I believe I have fixed my phone!!
A friend of mine was having the same problem that I was having where you could hear other people but they couldn't hear you.
We fixed the problem by redownloading the 4.2.1 update. 4th post down on this page: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1052794&page=5 is a list of links to the update files. I downloaded the one for my phone and did a restore (from a backup) after downloading the file and double clicking it so iTunes opens. Since I've done this my phone has been working perfectly again!
It might take you a few tries, it took my friend 3 tries until his worked right and it worked for me on the first try. I'm guessing something was screwing up during the download.

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

Which email service provider are you using? You can install DropBox and share links to the files that way. When you snd to your self (cc or bcc) do the items show up? What file types and sizes are these attachments? Are you sending over WiFi or cellular connection? Try using more than one email account from a different provider (Gmail, yahoo, iCloud, etc) and see if it is email provider specific.

I'm getting really upset with this ridiculous nonsense!! Ever since that lousy upgrade to iOS 8, mind you I did not get the worthless recalled iOS 8.0.1 update, my phone has been freaking out. Glitching and freezing are now common place and my apps, which I have never had a problem with in the past, are now crashing without warning. To top it all off my phone, which has had NO problems in this area before iOS 8, is all of sudden skipping and now deleting all of my mpeg-1 layer 3 music files without my consent!! This leads me to assume that the only two explanations are 1) this is just a huge screw up on Apples part and now several of their technical lackeys are feverishly working to get a reasonable working update out and to quell a lot of unnecessary headaches like mine and many others OR 2) Apple is now forcing our hand in purchasing songs only in their own personal format, MP4 I believe it is. Either way, I'm more than a little ****** off and I'm sure Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave at the large amount of excrement disguised as Apple products and operating systems his beloved company is dumping on it's faithful customers.

I record audio books from my library onto my old iPhone. I download the book from Overdrive to my computer. I connect the Iphone to the computer and transfer the audio-book to the iPhone. When I am done listening to the book i delete it from the iPhone by connecting it to the computer and doing a manual sync. this worked fine until the last i-tunes update on my computer. Now when the iPhone is connected and i tell the computer to delete a book it is only deleting the name of the book on the computer it is not deleting the book from the phone. The next time I connect the phone to the computer the program does not show the book in the phone but it is still in the phone. I have no more room on my phone to get any new books on it.

You are correct. Syncing should transfer any purchased media, including videos, from your device to your iTunes library provided your computer is authorized for the Apple ID used to make these purchases. You mentioned that you have uninstalled iTunes before, but if you didn't follow this guide exactly, uninstalling iTunes and all of its components in the order specified, it may not have been successful so you should try again: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7.

Well, I tried to delete the Caches and I threw all the .plist files related to microsoft in the trash -- athough I don't know if this is the way to delete files but I haven't found another yet....
From your other suggestions, it seems to me that you have the impression that I want to stop using Microsoft Office (it was 2007, I made a mistake) though... but this is not the case.
So... tell me if I misunderstood correctly or if I did anything wrong, or if you have anything else to suggest...

The back and forward browser buttons are NOT ALWAYS available to use, so once I open a web-site I can not go back to what I was looking at previously. This has only started happening recently?

The back and forward browser button always works when we first get online, and then over some time it will not work and then will work again (working again is happening less). I have re-started the computer many times to fix the issue.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Accidents happen, and apple can certainly assist you with replacement of said device. Most manufacters would tell you to buy a brand new retail unit, apple will charge you about half price for a replacement unit. I agree its unfortunate that it happend, but expecting a free replacement is just going to lead to disappointment

You can't.
All photos transferred from your computer are stored in the Photo Library. The photos in the album or albums below are not duplicates - they include a pointer to the original photos stored in the Photo Library. This way you can view the photos in a particular album only by selecting the album, or you can view all photos available in all albums by selecting Photo Library.
Just as with an iTunes playlist. A song cannot be in an iTunes playlist unless the song is in the main iTunes library. Placing a song in a playlist does not duplicate the song. Remove the main iTunes library or the songs from the main iTunes library that are in a playlist and the songs will no longer be in the playlist either. Im having problems with loading Google Maps, it takes a while to load up. This has only started doing this recently.I changed to Mozilla from IE Exporer as that was useless.

Mozilla runs fine with other web sites but when I use Google Maps it struggles to load up maps. Looks like there is a constant exchange between Google and Mozilla which is slowing up the loading. Yes - email & text work fine but when I use something like Google Images or search a blog with imbedded photos I get the empty white boxes with question marks. If I click the question mark it opens the photo but I can't possibly do that for EVERY image on EVERY page I search!?!?! Apple Mail uses Apple's own PDF viewer, and it's ... well, let's be friendly and say not really up to par. Don't use it for anything else than ascertaining there is *something* in your mail. Then use the free Adobe Reader to view your PDF.
