Why is my iPhone 5 skipping/not playing any of my songs in an mpeg-1 layer 3 file format? This only started happening after I updated to iOS 8.
I'm getting really upset with this ridiculous nonsense!! Ever since that lousy upgrade to iOS 8, mind you I did not get the worthless recalled iOS 8.0.1 update, my phone has been freaking out. Glitching and freezing are now common place and my apps, which I have never had a problem with in the past, are now crashing without warning. To top it all off my phone, which has had NO problems in this area before iOS 8, is all of sudden skipping and now deleting all of my mpeg-1 layer 3 music files without my consent!! This leads me to assume that the only two explanations are 1) this is just a huge screw up on Apples part and now several of their technical lackeys are feverishly working to get a reasonable working update out and to quell a lot of unnecessary headaches like mine and many others OR 2) Apple is now forcing our hand in purchasing songs only in their own personal format, MP4 I believe it is. Either way, I'm more than a little ****** off and I'm sure Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave at the large amount of excrement disguised as Apple products and operating systems his beloved company is dumping on it's faithful customers.
Try
Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: > Sign out then sign back in.
Assuming you have Internet connection to the Internet.

A friend of mine was having the same problem that I was having where you could hear other people but they couldn't hear you.
We fixed the problem by redownloading the 4.2.1 update. 4th post down on this page: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1052794&page=5 is a list of links to the update files. I downloaded the one for my phone and did a restore (from a backup) after downloading the file and double clicking it so iTunes opens. Since I've done this my phone has been working perfectly again!
It might take you a few tries, it took my friend 3 tries until his worked right and it worked for me on the first try. I'm guessing something was screwing up during the download. -
Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
I wasted about 1.5 hours with Apple on this issue. It all started happening after I updated to the latest version of iTunes. I haven't been able to sync my iPhone 4 in 1 month and am freaking out about possibly losing my pictures, video, text messages and music.

Hi, I cant login to the facebook app on my iphone 5 ios 6.0.2. I keep getting an error message saying 'There was an error logging in using single sign on' when im asked to log in again i get a 'session expired' message. This only started happening yesterday. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks.
I am having the same problem and took the following steps to mitigate it to no avail.
1. I deleted the Facebook app on the phone and turned off Facebook in the iPhone's system-wide settings.
2. I re-enabled Facebook in the iPhone's system-wide settings and reinstalled the Facebook app and logged in again. It worked. For about an hour.
3. I completely restored the phone to a previous backup (before the problems started) and reenabled Facebook .... reinstalled the app.... and now it works intermittenly. But it hasn't worked in about 12 hours now (just tried a few minutes ago).
Please advise. -

Since you that turned it on prior to drying it the damage is done now

My iTunes is not playing any of my songs!!
My iTunes hasn't been playing any of my songs, there is no error message, I simply don't get sound and the tracker doesn't move. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes several time and have run a diagnostic tests to no advail. Any ideas?
See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for a complete strip down and repair of iTunes. Before you do that however check that media plays with something else like Windows Media Player. There could be some other system-wide issue, such as a disabled audio device.

My Iphone 4s stopped playing a majority of my songs after i tried to sync a cd to my phone through itunes. The songs will open but will not play. They remain at zero. They appear to be grey on the list instead of the usual black font color and they have dotted grey circles in front of them when they are opened in my itunes account under the phone. In the phone's song list they are also grey, with red boxes within a circle behind their titles. In my general itunes music library the songs play perfectly fine. It is only under my phone that i am having issues. can anyone tell me why; or how to correct the problem?
Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

All this happened after installing IOS 6!!I have the same issue - Home Sharing is setup on my macbook pro and works absolutely fine from my Apple TV but no longer works from my iPhone 4S now running iOS7.04

Let me recap...Apple TV can access shared music library via Home Sharing with no issues. The iPhone 4S can ACCESS the shared library, SCROLL through the songs, but when I attempt to PLAY a song it just skips it and sends me back to the browsing screen.

For some reason pictures that have been included in emails as part of the email are no longer there. This seems to have happened after my last update of firefox. If I forward the email to another web browser on my computer the picture is then visible as part of the email. The pictures I am talking about are not ones attached for me to open but ones that are included as part of the email.

Some messages get sent as texts for sme reason and people are receiving duplicates hours later. Also, I received duplicate messages that came thru as "texts" not iMessage minutes apparat from each other
So this is what happened:
- It turns out because I am traveling internationally and ended up using 24MB of data (push email notice etc) that "exceed" the AT&T data usage so they've turned off my data in on the 3rd day of my trip. Mind you, I was already being VERY careful about international data usage and turned that off after I arrived.
- In today's standard 24MB of data is really nothing: but during the AT&T tech rep. trying to trouble shoot, she discovered that alone is a $500 international DATA roming bill (!!!!)
- But they were decent enough to back date me to the $30/mo interntaional data plan (with 120MB limit).
- So instead of having to pay $500 for the 24MB of data usage and have the data cut (now I am back in the States), I only need to pay the $30 international data plan and have AT&T turn back on my 4G / 3G data.
- What's weird, is that LTE wasn't blocked when I am back in the US. Only 4G/3G was down which causes the confusion. -
I recently recovered my account password and user name tonight. when my account opened . I was unable to play a vast majority of my purchases . some played . a Great Deal did not. Is there any way I can redownload all of my songs.. keep in mind I have thousands of dollars vested in the music im currently unable to enjoy.

all comes up as plug in failure no matter what browser. i have updated everything. some one please help me? its been going on for a month. but it used to go away if i restarted the browser. and now nothing works.
Try re-installing Quicktime.

when i sync my iphone to my computer to update my music, it syncs as normal to my phone but it re-arranges the most played songs and puts them at the bottom of the app rather in the exact order its appearing as in itunes. this only started happening when i updated to the new iOS platform. can somebody else? i need them to sync so that my most played songs remain at the top and not the opposite!!
PLEASE HELP!You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

The iPod does not play any songs, always stuck on 0:00. All the browsing features work.
The iPod classic does not play any of the songs. all the songs stop at 0:00 and don't play. How do I fix this?
Try the Hard Reset
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

ITunes cannot play any of my songs
why is my iTunes not playing any of my songs in my song library and when i click any song, it tells me the song could not be used because the original file found not be found and will also asked me if i would like to locate?
Have you moved any files or folders in your iTunes folder? iTunes does not look at or store music. When you add a track it notes where the file is located it should play when you select the track. If you move the file or something happens to your computer so the location is no longer valid then iTunes cannot find the file to play. Have to tried to find a file iTunes should play when you select a track (say "yes" when it asks)?
