I live in white rock but do travel to the states a lot. I've heard that if you have an American account you can buy apps from the us but have to log in back and forth to use them. But I only have one account and it's Canadian. Everything worked fine until recently I can no longer update apps I've been using since I bought my iPad. It always kicks me back and forth between us and Canadian stores but doesn't update anything. I've tried restarting and reloading, deleting and repurchasing. I haven't seen anybody else with this one! Please help!

Go to Settings > Store, select your Apple ID and press View Account. You will be able to change the country

Where did you purchase the book?
If it is from the iBooks Store, you can delete the book and then go to the Store, click "Purchased" in the lower right, and re-download it.
If it is not from the iBooks Store, there might indeed be a format inconsistency.

We do have a place in the UK which we could use as an address, but for various reasons it gets a bit complex even though we still have a UK bank account. We moved to France when there were no iDevices and apps around, just bought the occasional music, so it wasn't a problem. Funny thing is I can't even download the free UK bank app because it's not available in the French store .
I'll live with the problem for now as we plan to move back to the UK in a year or so - we miss the weather .

Open the App Store and tap "featured", go down untill you see your Apple ID... enter there and tap "View Apple ID"... it should automatically ask you if you want to switch the store. Switch and thats all.

Try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your device and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section and select Ireland.

Depending on why it's been disabled you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your phone/iPad then try logging out of your account on the phone/iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it

I just read this solution, tried it & now it's working...
I think I found a fix...I went to Settings, iTunes & App Stores, then click on your Apple ID...view Apple ID...change country region to USA (even though it was already USA...just do it again...go through the steps making sure the United States store is selected...agree to the Terms of Service, THEN I think what the key is is to RE-auhorize your credit card...in my case all I had to do was enter the security code...and it worked...I am now able to download the YouTube app for example...couldn't do it before.

My app store and itunes store are stuck in Japanese store. I already moved to the Philippines for about a year ago and my stores still won't change its location.
I already changed the region/country in my apple id. I tried to sign out and sign in back to my account. Tried it in app store, in itunes store, in settings app, in itunes in my laptop, in the apple website. It shows that my apple id is already set to Philippines, no matter where I sign in my account.
The problem is when I open my app store (or itunes store) in my iphone, it appears that it is in the Philippines store; however, when I sign in my account (and I tried to sign in everywhere), I cannot download any app from the Philippine store. When I try to download an app, it always says "Account not in this store. Your account is not valid for use in the Japanese store. You must switch to the Philippines store before purchasing." I have read everywhere and most of the answers say that it should automatically direct me to the correct store. It doesn't happen to me, apparently.
I have the same problem in both my iPhones. Both are iPhone 3GS and in version 5.1.1. I don't want to upgrade to iOS6 so please don't tell me to do so. Thanks!

- Are you saying that they are not listed in your Purchased section?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- Are they listed in your Puchases history when you log into your account on your computer?
- Are they still available now for purchase? If not then you are out of luck
If they are still available and listed in your Puchase History then contact iTunes

I've recently bought the i-phone 4s, I've set up my apple I.D and password but everytime I try and log in it says "this apple I.D has not yet been used on the i-tunes store" I click "review" follow the instructions and agree to the terms and condition's, enter my bank details but it declines every time? I've tried both my accounts and its declined both, this stops me from logging in so I can't download anything for free or buy anything, my sister had the option of skipping the bank details part when she created her apple I.D and just enters her's when buying something, why do I not have that option?? The details I'm entering are correct, I choose visa as my card type, enter my card number, enter my expiry date and my last 3 digts on the reverse of the card, enter my address and zip code plus my home telephone number, click continue and it says "the payment method you have selected has been declined, please enter another payment method". I've lost count how many times I've tried, I've typed my details in slowly making sure I put them in properlly and it still declines it, I've even tried makeing a new apple I.D and when I get to the bank details part it declines it again so I am forced to press cancel and all details are not saved so its just like I'm hitting a brick wall, its ******* me off!!!
