TS3276 i am having trouble with my exchange emails. I use the latest exchange 2010 and am having trouble downloading all my emails on the macbook
I use a microdost exchange 2010 in my office. I just bought a macbook pro and try to syn my office mail. While it has been set up properlly and it has started downloading some of my older emails, it is taking very long and does not download all the mails especially the new ones. The ones it has downloaded take a long time to load and open.
I bought the laptop to use it on the go. What is the solution? Please help.

Startup your Mac while holding down the Option key. That should prompt the Startup Manager window where you can select the startup disk then click Restart.
If the startup disk is not available from that window, you may be able to repair the disk.

Just updated to my macbook pro to 10.8.2. ical not synching with my Exchange 2010 server. Worked flawlessly prior to the upgrade. Settings set to auto discover. I matched settings of a partner in my who is still using 10.7.1 without issues. Help!
Also - my battery has been telling me "service battery" for a LONG time and then it switched to "replace soon" som time ago. Can't really see what this has to do with anything but whatever.
That could conceivably explain all the problems you're describing. Replacing a Mac's battery should not be postponed since a failed battery will cause other problems to occur. It is also possible that its hard disk has failed, which means the information on it may soon become unrecoverable.
... my latest TM back up was from April 2014, can I just run this when I have rescued everthing and then it might not be as slow?
If that Time Machine backup remains intact, it may be the only viable means of recovering that Mac's information. I suggest you do not attempt to restore its contents to your ailing Mac.
Given that you are having trouble creating a newer Time Machine backup you should stop using that Mac immediately and have it serviced as soon as you are able. Do not take it to anyone other than Apple or a service facility authorized by Apple, for the very reasons you explained. If there are no Apple Stores in your vicinity search for an Authorized Apple Service Provider using the Contact Us link below. Use one of the options that appear under Contact Apple Support. I set up my iCloud account on iPad with an exchange account and aol account. I can see exchange and aol emails but not those from .me account or apple email. I got it to show all 3 accounts on my iPhone with no problem. Hat am I missing?
I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
Any suggestions? -
Trouble with FP 10.3.183.7 upgrade - wasn't working and now doesn't download
Current system info:
Windows 7 (64 bit)
Internet Explorer 9 (using 32 bit for downloading FP)
I upgraded to 10.3.183.7 and immediately noticed my laptop unable to display/use Flash features (facebook games, online flyers, video, etc)
I uninstalled and installed multiple times using both Control Panel and the uninstaller provided on Adobe help page. I restarted my laptop after every install and after every uninstall. I made sure to use 32-bit IE each time.
At first Programs (and Control Panel) showed FP as installed but now it doesn't register as installed at all - aside from the installer program telling me it is installed.
After installing, on the Adobe 'test' page instead of the spinning F I see a box with an 'x' in the top left hand corner (like an image/graphic that won't load).
I tried the beta FP 11 but same problem. It at least showed up on my programs list. I uninstalled it and am back to FP 10.3
I have been on the help page trying anything I can find to get it working but no luck so far. Any advice for this issue?

JillFP does appear in my Control Panel for uninstalling but does not appear in my Programs list. I downloaded Google Chrome and FP seems to work with it (though I'm not a big fan of the browser)So, it would appear to be an IE issue? Hi, so did I. It seems to be a huge problem with everyone. I opened a folder on desktop and called it target. I copied all my songs into that folder.
I uninstalled Itunes completely. Rebooted. Then I installed a fresh install.
I then dragged all the songs back to Itunes and it worked. I hope that helps.
I read an article the other day and apple is suppose to come out with some genius fix for this problem, it really seems to be global.

Getting UConn 8.5 to work with both Exchange 2007 and 2010
According to the document below, I should be able to set up one Unified Messaging service to access mailboxes on both Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2007 servers. I setup my service to point to 2010 CAS servers and I can access 2010 mailboxes, but testing 2007 mailboxes comes up with an http 200 error. If I setup the CAS server as 2007, I can access 2007 mailboxes, but get an error on 2010 mailboxes. This will be a real pain if I can't do this with one service. I don't want to have to keep Unity Connection updated as users get moved from 2007 to 2010! Anyoe know how to do this?

My Unified Messaging Service was originally setup to Specify an Exchange Server. That is where I had put the DNS name of the CAS server (and that DNS entry pointed to several CAS servers). I changed the Service to Search for Exchange Servers instead and used that same DNS name in the Active Directory DNS Domain Name. When I do the test of this service, it tells me it Failed to locate a Domain Controller via DNS, but that is just informational. It also says it successfully connected to the Exchange CAS server with the autodiscover.xml. Now my mailboxes on both Exchange 2007 and 2010 are able to receive voicemail messages with this one Service configured.

Mail with Microsoft exchanger servers and encryption
My campus is requiring certain e-mails to be encrypted. When I am on the Windows machines using outlook, there is a simple option to do this. But most of my time I am working on my Mac, thank goodness, and I would like to know if there is a setting somewhere that permits encryption of selected e-mails in a way compatible with the exchange server?
So far tech support has not gotten back to me yet, and searches of this subforum with 'encrypt + exchange + server' just bring up posts about using Mail with an Exchange server, and no 'encrypt'.I am new as well. I am now getting mail from exchange, but it doesn't seem to want to use exchange as the outgoing mail server.
Also is there anything else that needs to be done in order to sync with my exchange calendar and contacts? -
Mail 5.2 (1278) with MS Exchange 2010
I've been working with Mac Mail for about a month on MS Exchange 2010 and found that it would not sync up nor would it close. I later discovered that if I removed ALL rules from Mail, that everything would work properly. I don't know if this is a bug or some quirk with Mail trying to sync its rules with Exchange and Exchange going nuts trying to understand them or what... Never the less, I'm back operational again because I deleted ALL of my rules, I just wish I had some way to automatically filter some of the repetitive emails I get.
Does anyone have visibility to this as being a known bug either on Apple's or Microsoft's side and whether there IS a fix or that either have this on their bug-list?

JimWilliam, it sounds like the same thing.
This is what I've seen happen in detail when I have rules set up:
When new mail arrives in my Exchange inbox, the won't show up in Mail.app sometimes for quite a while or possibly never.
When I do a "Get new messages in all accounts", it will endlessly spin and no mail will download. I check whats there by going to OWA and find that there are lots of mail in the inbox, just that Mail isn't able to download them.
If I try to quit Mail, I find that its just locked up and even tried waiting about 6 hours (I went away and came back late that evening) so I force quit the app. // Note, use the vacuum terminal command to clean up your mailboxes: "sqlite3 ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope\ Index vacuum;"
Only when I go back in to Rules and not just disable them but remove them entirely, that Mail begins to respond correctly and I'm able to download messages when they arrive.
Workaround:
What I've ended up doing is build Smart Mailboxes to search my inbox for certain criteria that I normally would have a rule set for and then perform the task manually. Its awkward but at least I get my mail.
I'm really hoping someone is aware of this and are working on it. I read somewhere that its a "known bug" by Apple and even with the early release AppleSeed of Mountain Lion, its still not fixed there either.
I wish I had better information - at least you have a handle on whats going on. -
I have restored my Ipad 2 back to the original settings, but now I am having trouble downloading all of my apps and updating them. However, if I am connected to my laptop; I can copy the apps back onto my Ipad, but that doesn't solve the update problem. PLEASE HELP!!!

Single name space in between Exchange 2010 and 2013
Hi,
In my current environment I have 2 Exchange 2010 servers with DAG no CAS NLB. I installed Exchange 2013 with 2 CAS with WNLB and 2 Mailboxes with DAG. The main requirement is to configure Single name space to access in between Exchange 2010 and Exchange
2013. On Exchange 2010 DAG there is a URL using is owa.domain.com and I also configured in Exchange 2013 all the virtual directories with this name owa.domain.com but having an issue that when I open explorer and use the owa.domain.com URL the user on Exchange
2013 gets their mailbox but user on Exchange 2010 gets error HTTP 403 blank page.
I observed that in Exchange Organization settings CAS settings one server OWA, ECP etc shows their internal external URL but the other server unable to open the OWA, ECP URL and give error message that "An IIS directory entry
couldn't be created. The error message is Access is denied. HResult = -2147024891"
Please guide how to resolve this issue and use the same name URL in Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013

Primary mailbox (on Exchange 2010) and Personal Archive (on Exchange 2013), possible?
Current environment is Exchange 2010 SP3 RU5 supporting 4,000 Users. Client estate is Outlook 2010 SP1 going on SP2.
We're pulling our Archiving solution away from 3rd party and back into Exchange. Implementing a new set of Exchange 2010 Servers (old DAG or in a new Archive DAG) would be easy. But is there Exchange 2013 stepping stone potential?
Can the Archive DAG / Archive mailboxes be on 2013? i.e. for any given User, leave their primary mailbox on Exchange 2010 and create new Archive mailbox on 2013.
I want to avoid implementing 2010 Archive Servers and then go 2013 Archive 6 months or a year later.

as per the repro in our lab, having the archive mailbox in higher version of exchange would fail with the error above

At this point in time we don’t have a conformation from the product team, if the above would change in the future exchange versions.

Using the MacBook Pro with external Monitor and Keyboard
This may be a dumb question, but here it goes anyway:
Can I use the MacBook Pro with an external monitor and a bluetooth keyboard and mouse without having it opened all of the time ?
I am planning to buy a MacBook for my wife and most of the time she will be using it at her home office.
I don't want her to use the computer opened all of the time when she is actually looking at the separate screen and using a separate keyboard. Having the laptop opened will only accumulate dust and reduce the lifetime of the built in screen.
What I would actually need is a kind of "docking station", but Apple doesn't make that - I know.
So can the MacBook at least be operated without the internal screen powered on while it is closed?

We are in coexitence organisation (transition Migration) Exchange 2003 sp2 and Exchange 2010 sp1.
Users in Exchange 2003 use outlook 2007 and outlook 2010
Users in Exchange 2010 use outlook 2007, outlook 2010 and outlook 2013.
Issue: users in Exchange 2003 can't open outlook 2013 user calendar when he has Busy/Free information as default permission in his calendar.
User in Exchange 2010 with outlook 2007 can't also open outlook 2013 user calendar when he has Busy/Free information as default permission in his calendar.
Is it normal ? or exist some configurations to do in order to coexist all thoses clients and servers ?

Does this issue occur on Outlook only or both Outlook and OWA?
Since you have double checked the permissions via multiple methods, it seems there is nothing problem on permission. Please make sure the migration from Exchange 2003 server completed successfully.
If in OWA everything goes well (cannot see details), it should be an issue on the Outlook client side.
I suggest run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
I suggest re-create profile to refresh the caches.

My colleagues computer suddenly crashed yesterday and it wouldn't restart without a system restore.
Now when we try to open up Outlook it says that you must connect to Microsoft Exchange at least once before you can usse your Outlook Data file (.ost)
Also The PC has lost the trust relationship on the domain
We have exchange 2010 and the servers OS is Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2011 and the Client PC is running off of Windows 8.
Can you please help me resolve this issue?

[email protected]It might be possible that the MAPI key (which enables Outlook to synchronize with Exchange) has been deleted due to the System crash. So, in order to establish the connection, you need to Reconnect the OST file to the original MAPI profile and then reconnect
then MAPI profile to Exchange Server.
If the above method fails to resolve the issue, then the best option for you would be to take the help of any professional OST to PST Conversion Software, which will help you to Extract data from your OST file and convert it to PST file which you can import
back to your Outlook to establish the connection with Exchange Server again.

Internal ( pointing to VIP on Kemp)
External ( pointing to external IP,then it passes firewall that again passes to kemp)
Problem we are having is when migrating users from Exchange 2010 - 2013.
Users using Outlook 2010
restart of outlook and mail works fine.
OWA works fine
Active sync fails ( need to inherit permission of users AD object),wait couple of hours then mobile can sync again.)
Users using Outlook 2013
Outlook in disconnected status,only fix is to create new profile.

Question is,what should be set for internal and external url (active sync,owa,ews)on 2010 and 2013 servers?
Where is the config wrong?

did the test as mentioned,even tried both CAS 2013 servers.Flush and registerdns didnt help.
Still Outlook is Connected to the cas.exchange.as (which again Points to 1 of Exchange 2010 servers),
Tried repair Outlook profile,no og.Only fix is to setup New account.
Any more tips?
