Native Mail app unable to get new mail after updating to iOS 5.0.1

Just after I installed 5.0.1 (OTA) I've noticed that native ios mail client is unable to get new mail messages anymore. I have three seperate mail accounts (Gmail, Hotmail, iCloud) connected to my iPad2 and none of them works after this software update. All I get is three seperate error messages (Cannot Get Mail) one after another for each account, same kinda of messages as you get once you try to open your Mail app with no internet connection, but this time it's not an issue as my iPad is connected to my home WiFi which is working just fine.
I've tried to restart my device, checked mail settings, made sure all the passwords are ok by typing them once again for all the accounts and I managed to get confirmation that they're ok with no difficulties using the same device.
All other apps that uses internet connection seems to be working with no problems as well.

Once I got new mail messages to each mailbox it seems that everything got back to normal.

Once in a while, your Mail.app (sometimes referred to as "Apple Mail" or "Mac Mail"), stops receiving new mail. You may be able to verify that you are getting new mail via webmail, another email client or computer, or even via a mobile phone. When this happens, the fix is extraordinarily easy!
Here's how: From inside the Mail.app, click the Mailbox menu (see Figure 1):
Choose "take all accounts offline", and wait 10 seconds.
Choose "take all accounts online".
Figure 1: Follow these steps to refresh your Mail application.
You should begin seeing your new mail flow into your inbox.
It worked!

If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.

Are the Email servers down, I am unable to access new mail.

Are the email servers down? I am unable to retrieve my mail from either on-line or the local mail app.

Still down; about 24 hours now. The Apple Rep I spoke to yesterday said they were HOPING to get them back up within 24 hours, but didn't want to promise that.
I've moved all my contact info over to gmail.

Could it be that Mail is in an "offline" state? Is Mailbox > Go Online enabled or disabled?
Open Window > Connection Doctor. What does it say?
If you log into your mail accounts on the web, do the messages appear there?
Choose Get Info (⌘I) from the Action menu located below the mailboxes list in the main Mail window to open the Account Info window -- type "Account Info" in the search field of Mail Help for more information on this feature. Does Mail display there the messages that it doesn't download?

Unable to recieve new contact requests.

I'm trying to stay calm and collected to get this issue resolved here. I can only begin to imagine how much oppertunity I have lost, as clients are unable to send me contact requests. Those who have been patient enought to stick around, insist they have sent me requests 3+ times. Still I get nothing. I am unable to find any solutions to this anywhere on the internet post 2012, reverting to older versions doesn't help, uninstalling doesn't help and the latest version of Skype doesn't help. Mobile android versions don't help either. Please someone help?

Right, screw you Skype, I'm going to WeChat and becoming an envagelist for the product too.
After some investigation, I discovered Skype is actually owned by Microsoft. Theres the reason why it this product sucks.
I bought an expensive Microsoft HD webcam the other day too. The video and audio does not sync with my "Record to Desktop" feature on Nvidia's shadowplay, while 10 other programmes recorded at the same time seem to do it just fine.

How to recieve new mail on a Blackberry only when away from computer?

Hi all!
I just bought a BlackBerry 7250. I got my email mail set up on it just fine, but I'd like to only receive mail when I'm away from my computer (when it's asleep or powered off)...it's not of much use to be getting emails on my BB when I'm sitting at my computer and they're popping up right in front of me.
I figured I would be able to do this by somehow rigging Mail to do so (something with downloading messages from the server, etc). I know it must have something to do with the computer figuring out when my mail is being downloaded to my mail program from my pop server, and sending when it's not. Can someone give me a clue?

I use two ways - not very sophisticated
On my pop account, I set the preferences to delete mail on server immediately after download
On BlackBerry, I delete the mail account when I am near the computer and re-enter when I want mail

Unable to recieve mails from external world to CRM system

We are using CRM 5.0 Application. As apart of it we configured exchange
server for sending and receving mails from CRM system.The problem is
our CRM system is unable to recieve the mails from the exchange server.
All the settings fro receving the mails has done in exchange server.But
our CRM system is not capturing the mails.We also Maintained all the
parameters fron SAP level and we are able to send the messages to the
external sites,while receving only we are facing problem.
Pls guide us regarding this issue

As you said we have already done that settings in SCOT and also the other things specified by you.But we are unable to recive the mails to our CRM System.
Mail are going to external ids from CRM. While replying back exchange server is also receiving it. And as said is also forwarding to the contact id (crm.xyz.com).
But there it waits for time and bounces back because SAP CRM system (and the concerned user for whom that email is assigned) is not accepting the email.
I also sent all the steps what we configured to your personal id with reference to sdn.
Pls provide your suggestions

User not able to download new mail

I have a user that is unable to fetch new mail as of Oct 10. Nothing has changed on his computer. He can view new emails on webmail/iphone, just not on his computer. The iphone has the same exact config as his computer.
I have trashed his mail's plist and re-input configurations. Still not downloading new mail.
He has 14000+ emails, but I don't think that's the limitation.
Any other suggestions?

Try going to Home/Library/Mail/<Account Folder> and deleting the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2 file; then restart Mail and see if that resolves the issue.

Turns out this was a simple set up error for me, although i'd set up mobile me to sync my e mails I had never set up my outgoing message server. Therefore, if I received a message from me.com I could reply no problem, however if the message came from aol.com I couldn't reply.

everything is set up, i read the instructions on that site to help me set it up, im recieving mail, and i can even reply, but when i try to send new mail it rejects the smtp. outgoing mail server...any suggestions?

Does resetting include deleting and recreating the AOL SMTP server?
Deleting an SMTP server requires selecting Edit Server List from the SMTP server selection pop-up menu.
ISP is short for Internet Service Provider. Are you using AOL as your ISP for connecting to the internet?
Unless AOL is used as your ISP, your ISP may have made recent changes regarding the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network. Most, if not all ISPs have restrictions regarding the use of SMTP servers outside of their network on Port 25. Using Port 587 usually resolves any such restrictions but some ISPs block the use of all SMTP servers outside of their network regardless. These restriction are in place as part of an overall effort to prevent or reduce spam eminating from the ISP's domain.
Since you have switched back and forth between every option available, I suggest deleting and recreating AOL's SMTP server first (if you haven't already done so) and if this didn't work, deleting and recreating this AOL account in Mail.
If neither works and AOL is not your ISP used for connecting to the internet and you are accessing an email account and SMTP server provided by your ISP, try selecting/using your ISP's SMTP server to send mail with your AOL account.
If this works, I would contact your ISP's technical support to inquire about any recent changes implemented regarding the use of SMTP servers outside of their network or put in another way, using an SMTP server that is not provided by your ISP.
The last resort is targeting the Mail.app preference file which stores all account information and general Mail.app preferences.
I try to avoid saying never in regards to computers but I doubt your hard drive replacement has anything to do with this.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Unable to access ER-mail after new update. Most recomendations delete the account with contacts---any other solutions??

Contact the email provider to troubleshooting.
Delete and re-add the account.
Without any details about the issue there is little to nothing that we fellow users can suggest.
