TS3293 iPad 2 does no charge

iPad 2 does not charge. Used several ones.

The best way to charge it is with the supplied charger, plugged into the wall outlet.
If it doesn't charge, it's generally one of 4 things
Bad power brick
bad outlet
bad cable
If you have spares, swap things out and if you replicate the non charging, then you rule those things out. If you've rules out all of that then the issue could be the port on your iPad.
You can try giving it a reset. HOld down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again. If it still will not charge, then you may want to call your local apple store and have them take a look at it. If there is something wrong with the port, it's beyond a user fix. If your device is still under warranty and doesn't show any  signs of 'abuse or neglect' then the device should be replaced.

My brand new iPad Mini does not charge using my macbook pro, but it does when is connected to de ac power wall adapter !!!

That is the way is is supposed to work. Your MBP does not supply enough power to charge the battery efficiently. It may be charging, but at a trickle rate and it will show as not charging. That is why a power adapter is included with the iPad. Use it.
Read more about charging the battery here.

  • My IPad Retnia does not charge when plugged in using the USB from my computer to car adapter, how can I fix this to be able to have flexibility in charging?

When I plug me IPad into the USB connector to my laptop or into my car charger, it show as not charging. How can I fix this so that I can charge my Pad in these settings?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. • My Ipad battery does not charge

    Hi everyone,
Hope some of you can help me out. My IPad battery gone flat and it does not charge. I tried different sockets, different chargers, tried to plug in to pc and charge it but to no avail. Could be that it needs new battery? I this Ipad for 2 years now.

    May need a new battery.
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Ipad 1 does not charge does not turn on

All the tips related to the home button and sleep button have not worked. Have tried 2 different charges, and no response. All I have is a blank, lifeless ipad. I charged it without a problem 3 weeks ago, and had not used it since. I also tried connecting it to my iTunes app on my laptop, and nothing yet.
I don't know if my only choice is to replace the battery.
    Thanks for any comments.

  • My iPad mini does not charge when I plug it in.

I have had my ipad mini for about six months. A few days ago I plugged it into the wall and it did not start charging. The "not charging" symbol at the top of the screen doesn't show up either. I tried plugging it into different outlets and using a different USB cable but nothing works. is there any way to fix this.

I dropped my ipad on the ground and now it charges. Not sure what happened.

  • My ipad 4 is not charging I just made it iOS 7

My Ipad 4 does not charge there's a weird thing when I turned it off or my battery is dead i usually am praying for hope that it charges when it dead so I let it dead while my USB port is connected when I turned it off it charges 40% for the last 6 hours my ipad did not have this problems it only started when I was playing it while charging and charging it even it's not yet low battery not even 10% maybe like 50% I am already charging and I just made my ipad iOS 7 but when I was iOS 6 I did not have any problems like this it's started like last week I really need help what can be the possible problems
PS: because ipad 4 s cable is a little weird it can be charged front and back is my USB port working at this problems or not should I replace them

I updated my iPad Air this morning to ios 8.1 and now I also can't get the charger to work.  I have 2 Apple iPad chargers, neither will work.  They both work for my iPhones and for my older iPad.  The cables are Apple Lightning cables and work.  In addition, when I plug into my laptop, the iPad Air isn't recognized so I can't access iTunes for that machine.
Two plus hours spent online with Apple support, and still no fix.  I was instructed to back up my iPad to the cloud, but according to the message I get when trying to back up,  it'll take 2 days.  The machine will be a brick long before that.
    Cupertino, we have a problem.

  • My iPad one won't charge with any cable I buy? Tell me what I am doing wrong.

I have an iPad 1 and have had no major problems with it til now. I want to continue using it, I use it for many things and it would suck if it stoped working because of something IDK about. My first and only apple product.
The charger cable (That came with it) finally broke. The wires just came apart and it wasn't salvagable. I had an Ipod cord here that a friend left and plugged it into the original port (The one that was working fine with original charger and came with ipad). It was a tight squeze into the iPad (which I thought was normal) but I got it into there so I thought it would work. It won't work. So i bought a charger said to be used to ipads, and I plugged it in, same thing happened. I did however still sync it into the computer with the new cable I bought. What am I doing wrong that it won't charge on the wall anymore? Wrong cable? I'm confused. Please help!

I bought a magazine subscription on my iPAD and after being charged, it does not come up on my screen.  Has anyone had this problem?
When I click on the magazine, my screen is just blank.  I can see the purchase, and in my settings/store, the magazine shows "ON".

I would do a power cycle/reset of your device first, if you haven't, to rule that out.

If that doesn't help, talking to iTunes customer support would be in order...or whoever you purchased the magazine subscription through.

If the magazine is browser based, you might also try another browser.  I like "Atomic Browser".  It is available on the app store.

  • My ipad does not charge

I am living in Sri Lanka, I recently got down an ipad2 from abroad.
My ipad does not charge either when i connect it to my laptop or when i connect it to a power outlet. I charge my ipod using the same cable too, so it aught to be working.
i have seen here that ipad does not charge well when connected to laptops. But i cannot understand why it wont charge when connected to the power outlet. Sri lanka has 230V. should i use something else with my power adapter to convert the electricity.pls help.
it is frustrating when things dont work as you want them to. Specially new things

It's normal for your iPad to not charge when plugged into a USB. The usb simply does not put out enough power. Technically it does charge, just very slowly (as in takes hours and hours)
Also your iPod charger won't work on your iPad. iPod/iPhone chargers put out 5W, the iPad wants 10W.
Are you using the power brick that came with your iPad? If not, that's the best thing to use.
The iPad power brick is rated for world power, so all it should need is a plug adapter.
You can try swapping out different USB cords and plugins.

  • After two days Ipad is completely dead does not charge or turn on

Purchased new ipad with retina display and was working fine til tried to turn on today and nothing. does not charge or turn on HELP!!!

If you did run the battery totally down, it can take at least half an hour after you plug it in before it shows any signs of life.
ANd in trying to recharge it, are you plugging it into the wall with its supplied charger? If you're trying via USB then it may take hours and hours before it shows any sign of charging. Most USB ports don't put out enough power to meet the iPad's power requirements.
