Tuxedo 11g requirements and Java

Hi,
I've noticed that Tuxedo 11g (in both Windows Server 2008 and IBM i6 OS) have Java 6 as a requirement.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18050_01/tuxedo/docs11gr1/install/inspds.html
We still have Java 1.42 in our systems, with Tuxedo 6.5 and Tuxedo 8.1, and we don't plan to update to Java 6 or 7 before upgrading Tuxedo.
It is really necessary to upgrade to Java 6? Although we don't use any Java feature with Tuxedo Server? Is it a good idea to have Tuxedo 11g with jolt.jar from previous versions?
Thanks in advance and king regards,
Javier

Hello Javier,
The Tuxedo 11g binaries were tested against Java based applications using JDK 1.6. If you do not intend to use any Java applications (e.g Jolt,COBA Java,GAUTHSVR,Tux Admin console) with
the Tuxedo 11g binaries then you do not need to upgrade.
If you intend to use the Tuxedo 11g jolt.jar binaries in a Jolt application (e.g. Jolt client) then you will need to use JDK/JRE/JVM version of at least 1.6 to be supported.
You may continue to use your Tuxedo 6.5 Jolt clients, Tuxedo 6.5 jolt.jar binaries, to connect to a Tuxedo 11g server but the Tuxedo 11g JSL must include the "-t" server option in the CLOPT defininition.

  • Migrating from Solaris 8 -Tuxedo 8 to Solaris 10-Tuxedo 11g,Help required.

    Hi All,
Presently in our Unix Server(Production Box) is running on Solaris 8 and we are using Tuxedo version 8.0
We are planning to migrate our applications on the Unix server with Solaris 10 using Tuxedo version 11g r1.
Here is the glimpse of our ubbconfig file in production:

    SANITYSCAN 3
    BLOCKTIME 6
    *MACHINES
    SPINCOUNT=5000

when we issue a tmloadcf -c ubbconfig
    we get
Ipc sizing (minimum /T values only) ...

    SHMALL: 1

    where 1 <= A <= 8.
The number of expected application clients per processor should
be added to each MSGMNI value.
The bbstats for our server is below:
    bbstatsCurrent Bulletin Board Status:
    Current number of servers: 532
    Current number of services: 838
Current number of request queues: 186
Current number of server groups: 43
    Current number of interfaces: 0
We have recompiled our code to generate new binaries in a similar development environment with Tuxedo 11g installed in Solaris 10 Unix Server,
but when we actually migrated them and booted up,within 15 minutes they started generating core files and crashed.
Hence apart from our application code(which works fine in Present situation but creating issues in the new server),
we are also doubtful about the IPC settings (i.e the outcome of tmloadcf -c ubbconfig) and configurations (RESOURCE and MACHINES section).
Can you please advice if some value needs to be tuned up in the new server/ubbconfig file.
It will be very helpful,if anyone please explain this below part:

be added to each MSGMNI value.
I was going through the documentation but was unable to get the clear picture.
I am new to Tuxedo and hence suffering with this migration activity.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

  • What is the minimum browser requirements for Captivate 5? (Specifically Flash and Java)

I create a Captivate from and upload it to our LMS. When employees access the course it takes a long time for it to load. My IT department is asking what is the minimum browser requirements for Captivate 5? Specifically Flash and Java. This is occuring on PC's and a Citrix environment.

    Hi there,
Thanks for reaching Adobe Community. Please accept my apologies for the same.
There is nothing in specific. When you say it takes a long time, do you mean on the LMS or locally as well?
    Try updaing the Flash Player.
You can download the Falsh Player Versions from the below link:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
    Which browser you are using?
Also what objects you have in your project?
Does it have widgets or heavier graphics?
Also are you using any particular preloader? Have you tried using the default.swf preloader?
    Thanks!

  • WebLogic 11g R2 and OSGI

    Hi there,
We are running Oracle WebCenter Sites 11g on top of WebLogic 11g R2 and we would like to have different versions of the same library running together, one for OWCS itself and other to some Java code we are developing (which will be part of the new website).
    Is that possible?
The real question is: How can we have a current version of a library (for isntance, Spring MVC) running side by side with a (much) older version of that library which is required by OWCS? Some people said we could wrap the application (running on top of a current version of Spring) into an EJB, but that sounds like a lot of overhead.
    Cheers

    Hi,
I do not think domain will be an issue. Did you install Oracle 11gR2 at home 32 bit or 64 bit version. Your server also may not be same. So there are so many factor which are different, causing it not to work at work, but work in a small setup at home.

  • How not to use Cold Fusion and Java

    Overview
This write up is intended to give java developers that are
developing ColdFusion applications some beneficial information:
    things that are not documented.
    Scenario
The company builds enterprise class web application software
for fortune 500 companies. It had purchased a CF 7 based product,
had and existing proprietary J2EE based product, and needed to
integrate the two while meeting a host of new requirements. These
requirements were based on delivering a better user experience,
faster / cheaper integration, increased flexibility /
configuration, useablily, decreasing maintenance costs, the ability
to deploy in either install or ASP models. An initiative was
started to create a new framework that integrated the best of each
technologies. Tactically, this meant that we were to build a hybrid
CF and java application: one that used building blocks (decoupled /
cohesive components) that would allow applications to be rapidly
assembled, configured and deployed. This made sense on several
levels, the team was composed of Java and CF developers, the CF
rapid application development was very productive, there is great
functionality delivered in the CF platform and initial performance
tests showed no cause for alarm
The agreed upon design, based on requirements, and analysis
by both the CF and Java staff has us using CF in the presentation
layer, using a CF based MVC, use of CF based web services. The MVC
was deployed using CFC inheritance for model objects and views made
use of CF custom tags. The internals of the application, used a
rules engine, some proprietary java, ORM, and other J2EE
technology. The initial performance of the system was reasonable.
We pushed on with product implementation.
Then it was time to load test the application, and tune it.
Under load the response times were orders of magnitude slower,
sometimes the pages even timed out.
Armed with our profiler, oracle execution plans and we
charged ahead addressing issue after issue. Note that we took
meticulous care in tweaking the active thread pool and ensuring
that our CF setup was tuned for our application. None of the
observations here are a condemnation of the language; rather they
are aspects that, when considered together, not conducive for
building integrated java and CF frameworks that use a structured /
OO programming practices. Further detail can be provided on
    request.
CFC inheritance should be avoided - resolution of variable
scope is expensive even if properly declared.
Since CF creates a class per method under the covers call
stacks become very large, especially if used in a loop. This is
nominally exacerbated by CF calls necessary to set up for the
    method call (String.toUpper()).
Nesting of loops and if statements should be kept to a
minimum - the conditional for each lookup of logical operator like
LT, GT are synchronized. Under load this results in thread waits.
Jrun has as single thread pool - both http and web service
requests use the same pool. Under load this leads to thread
deadlock. There are work arounds, but they are painful.
Recursion should be avoided - we had a few recursive routines
and these had to be rewritten.
Custom Tags - should be used sparingly - each custom tag
makes a synchronized call to the license server - (This may be
    fixed in CF 8)
    Summary
In the end we got the performance to reasonable numbers, but
we ended up moving some code to java (Custom Tags) and getting rid
of 'good programming' practices (Inheritance, loops, etc), mandated
proper variable scoping for those things left over. We prototyped a
sans cold fusion implementation and had an order of magnitude
improvement in performance and number of requests served per
    second.
The lesson? Use Coldfusion in its sweet spot: make a query,
iterate over the results and format for display. Extensive use of
structure programming techniques or OO CFCs should be avoided: they
will work but under load - but are better as a prototype. Building
frameworks in CF? Think twice, no three times, and, if you must, be
    minimalist.
    Text

    interesting aslbert123,
Not that I doubt you, but could you answer some questions
about your implementation that was so slow:
1.) Did you put your CFCs in the application or server scope?
2.) Were you initializing your CFCs, via CreateObject or
    <cfinvoke>, on every request?
3.) Are you sure that you were properly Var'ing every
variable in your methods? (people typically forget about query
    names and loop iterator variables)
4.) Could you give examples of how your inheritence was set
    up?
5.) For CustomTags, did you call them the old <cf_tag>
way or the newer, better-performing <cfimport> way?
6.) How did you connect CF to Java exactly?
    Thanks,
    Aaron

  • HT5243 how do I find my password for adobe and Java

how do I find my password for adobe and Java

"Java" doesn't have a password, unless you mean your admin password for installing software. That's whatever password you (or the person who set your computer up) used to set up your admin account. That's the same password that you use when you start up the computer if you get asked for one. You cannot retrieve this password if you've forgotten it, but you can reset it and make a new one. See this support article if that's the case:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14325
"Adobe" is a company and likewise doesn't have a password. However, if you have Adobe cloud-based software you may well have set up a password with them. Adobe also require an account and password for downloading certain products. You'll need to contact Adobe to retrieve any such password if you've lost it.

  • Berkeley DB Java Edition and Java 1.4

As a Berkeley DB Java Edition user we place a very high value on your input. We need your feedback regarding a product requirement for Java 1.5.
As time goes on we find ourselves implementing more and more performance enhancements based on facilities found only Java 1.5, primarily in the java.util.concurrent package. When we make these enhancements, we currently also maintain support for Java 1.4 although not at the same level of performance. Maintaining and testing this dual mode operation is beginning to slow down our development process. We would like to move as quickly as possible to take advantage of Java 1.5 performance features, but we are constrained by maintaining support for Java 1.4.
We are therefore planning to require Java 1.5 in the next major release of Berkeley DB Java Edition. Before finalizing this plan, we need your input on whether Java 1.4 support is important to you. Please let us know what your needs are by replying to this forum message.
    Thanks.
    The Java Edition team

    Morgan,
Yes, we currently plan to only offer replication for Java 1.5. Our motivations are split between the speed consideration and the codeline issues. We've seen better performance with 1.5. Also taking full advantage of the type safety and concurrent support in 1.5 can end up affecting implementation choices significantly, and can make 1.4 code and 1.5 code diverge a lot.
As for bug fixing on the 1.4 releases, we don't yet have an official plan. We care very much about supporting our open source users and have been able to provide backwards patches where critical in the past. However, the cost of backporting between 1.5 and 1.4 may be high for some bug fixes, and we'll probably have to decide case by case.

    Hi,
I'm looking for suggestions on the best approach to create an XML file programatically from a schema and Java bean.
The schema used is not fixed and may vary with each request so a dynamic way to create the XML is required.
Is there an API available that allows me to achieve this easily? Any help would be appreciated to point me in the right direction.

  • Need flash player 8 and java script enabled to play videos on ipad, need help please.

need flash player 8 and java script enabled on my ipad in order to view videos.  please help.

iPads do not directly support Flash.
You can look for Flash Browsers in the App store for some options to try. Support is not 100%, but maybe one may work for you.  Browsers like Puffin, Skyfire, Photon etc...
IPads do fully support JavaScript.  Just make sure its turned on under Settings->Safari->Advanced->JavaScript.
If you require Java, which is completely different to JavaScript, again there are some browsers in the App store that support it.  Search for "Java browsers" in the store.

  • Flex and Java on Desktop

    Hi
We are having this requirement , we want to develop a
application using flex for adobe AIR runtime which will communicate
with java in the desktop, we are not having any servers here, so
flex application want to communicate with java classes with out the
help of any server so I can't use httpservice, webservice or
    remoting .
I like to know the ways to communicate from flex 3.0(Adobe
AIR) to java files (java takes care of splitting PowerPoint
files and converting it into serious of jpeg files, and
creating ppt files from the objects returned from flex ).
Is there any other way to communicate form between flex and
java in the desktop ??? please give inputs
    Thiru

    Hi,
you could use XMLSocket or Socket classes depending on the
type of communication you want to stablish.
I have been testing this for a while although not for a
    project.
However my impression is that you need to install the AIR app
which is self-extracted and installed, but in second hand, you have
to install the Java app, that acts as a server, and it must be
executed every time your AIR app is, and the other way around.
Untill now I haven't got any idea on doing this without too
much work, but you can take a look at the Merapi project.

  • RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND for XSLT and Java Mappings (SXMB_MONI)

    Experts,
I need your opinion / experience about a problem that we have been facing here:
XI 3.0 was upgraded to PI 7.0, but since then all interfaces that uses XSLT and Java Mappings throws a RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND error in SXMB_MONI only in the production environment.
We found SAP Note 951318 that describes exactly the scenario we have here. The note also inform that the issue is solved at SP 07 (for PI 7.0).
The problem is that we find out that abap and java instance are with different SP ( SP 13 for abap and SP 09 for java) after XI upgrade to 7.0, since they had a error at java instance.
Have anyone of you facing with this problem?
I believe that even having a SP greater than 07 (as sap note 951318 requires), as we have an difference between abap and java SP, this issue might have been causing the problem.
    Points will be given.
    Regards,
    Daniela

Yes, thats true. As you can see,
In XI 3.0 (SAP Netweaver'04), the issue is solved in:
               SP 18,
SP 17, patch 1 (archive SAPXITOOL17_1. sca for XI Tools)
SP 16, patch 4 (archive SAPXITOOL16_4.sca for XI Tools).
you need to import and put a patch if you are using XI 3.0. but in your case it is PI 7.0.
So please check out the SAP Note : 950608 and download SP 07,patch 2 (archive SAPXITOOL07_2.sca for XI Tools).and Note 952402 .

  • Any problem if we areon  ABAP SP12 and JAVA SP09 for PI 7.0

    Hi All,
I was wondering being on different ABAP and Java SP's could cause any problems or compatibility issues in PI 7.0.
We are on SP12 for ABAP stack, SP09 for JAVA stack.
We are getting the following error (Red LED: Test Returned an Error) in Self-Test Status for BPE (RTW --> Component Monitoring --> Display --> Business Process Engine):
Details for 'Schedule Background Job for Packaging'
Background job for packaging is not required
Details for 'Schedule Background Job for Reorganization'
Background job for packaging is not required
In details it says background is not required and it gives Red LED in test.
Please let us know if anyone has any idea about the above two issues.
    Thank You,
    Indrasena Janga

    Hi,
    >>BPE (RTW --> Component Monitoring --> Display --> Business Process Engine):
To my knowledge different patch levels on ABAP and java stack  will not cause this issue.
More  over there will not  be much  issue  when we use different patch levels on ABAP and java stack
