TV@nywhere problems

I can call my self at lest advance user
I bought the first TV tuner (Ms 8876) last year and have only problems I have been playing around with this and trying all kinds of different things it works after it is installed as the one of the  first things on new system (if you install the patch) accept after patch no stereo sound. If you install other video viewing or editing software it crash at start or won’t shutdown at all, and the only way is to reformat your hard drive and start from point 0 to make it work again
I have internet on TV cable to work with TV tuner I have to install separately cable just from my main box (35 feet long) to prevent all the noise in the tuner screen
I thought the tuner has some problem with operating system and the issue will be fixed soon
Wait for so long and nothing happen so decide to buy the new (8606) my surprise was it didn’t work as I was expecting. This time I return the product and try ASUS with (video/audio decoder – PHILIPS SAA7134HL) it work great no problems at all
I decide to make last thing with the MSI TV tuner card give a hummer to my kid and tell him to try fixing it
I really enjoy that moment after all my frustration and spending hours to resolve the problems
I recommend to all of you to do the same; $70 CAN is not worth all your time and headache.
I don’t have anything against MSI product. I use the motherboards and video cards every day
And put it on the quality level with Asus as two company of my first choice.
I’m wonder why the support from MSI is so quiet with the tuner problems. It looks like they going down, maybe I should consider stop build the system base on theirs products
I tried making it work on my two home systems with on luck
First with Windows98se 512Mb then upgrade to Windows XP Pro.
MSI GNB Max (MS-6565 v2.0) Intel® Granite Bay 2705

I didn't have any problem with getting the tv channels to work(on Win XP). I didn't change any jumper setting at all.
I live in canada, so it should be similar to the USA.

  • TV@nywhere problem...please help

    Hi All,
I am trying to install this tv@nywhere Master on a PC133, Socket 370 PIII Amptron MB computer.
I am running windows 2000 professional.  I can install anyother PCI card and it will detect the card.  I install this TV@nywhere PCI card and the system will NOT see the card.  I have tried all (3) PCI slots.  I took it to the computer store to have them check the card on their computer, which was running Windows XP  and the card was detected, ergo the card was not bad.
My computer will not recognize this Card.  Any suggestions out there?  I've never had any probs with this computer and I am very computer literate both hardware and software.
    Thanks..

Ok if the WDM video capture have nothing to do with my TV @nywhere, then does anyone have any idea what my problem is?  With just XP the card worked beautifully and picked up all channels.  Now it scans and picks up nothing.  I have tried every program out there to no avail:  powerVCR II, showshifter, virtual vcr, WinDVR, etc...the only program I HAVE NOT tried is MSIPVS b/c I don't have my cd case with me and therefore the serial #.  But regardless, no other program will pick up channels, I only get blue.  Should I check IRQ's or perhaps move PCI slots?  Or is it something else?  Thanks guys.

  • MSI TV@nywhere problems

I just got my MSI TV@nywhere in today and i have a problem. I installed the MSIPVS Drivers then i try to install the InterVideo MSIPVS and i follow the instructions. It then asks for my name, company name, and a serial number. I looked everywhere for a damn serial number and the only place i could see was the S/N on the UPC label that came on the box. But, that doesnt work. What am i suppose to do?! I also dont think the MSIPVS drivers i installed actually installed! PLEASE HELP  ;(

Just plug the video composite (yellow from the xbox) into the composite in on the card, then go to Radioshack and buy the folloiwng: 2 x Composite couplers & A cable the has 2 male RCA (usually red and white) and on the other end is a stereo 1/8" Headphone jack. This will allow you to hook the Right and Left audio out from the Xbox, into the couplers, then plug the RCA's from the other cable into the other end of the couplers. Now plug the 1/8" Stereo headphone jack into either the line in on the TV card, or directly to the line in on your sound card. Start the MSIPVS and fire up your Xbox.

i am new to this forum. Im having a problem with my MSI TV@NYWHERE Pro card ( http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=132&prod_no=1396 )
on Windows Vista Home premium eidition.
I installed the drivers and Hypermedia center on wondows xp where it was running fine.
Thereafter ,  installed Windows Vista home premium edition, installed drivers for the tv card and then installed Hypermedia Cnter , but upon running the Setup Wizard in the Hypr media Cnter , it gave the error... Cannot Set Capture Device /(1000). In the device Manager, the tv tuner card was installed and written device is properly installed and working. However on other 3rd party TV Softwares like Cyberlink Power Cinema and Windows Media Cneter, the tv card is working fine and i can view tv on these softwares but Hypermedia center gives the above mentioned error.
I want to run tv on the Hypermedia Center because of its ease of use.
Kindly help me sort out this problem, ve searched in forums but cudnt find an answer yet.
    thanks.

I had the same problem, all the PCI cards on my vista installation were not recognized under the device manager.
It's a vista problem. BUT THERE'S A SOLUTION, found it on some bb:
    http://www.tkarena.com/forums/windows-vista-arena/33197-vista-pci-problems-2.html
    1. Open command prompt (Administrator)
    2. Type the following
    bcdedit /set CONFIGACCESSPOLICY DISALLOWMMCONFIG
    3. Exit command prompt
    4. Reboot
I was only able to execute this command after doing this:
    1. Start>Control Panel>User Accounts
    2. Click on User Accounts
    3. Turn User Account Control on or off
    4. Turn it off
    5. Restart
    6. Type in the command at the command prompt ( use windows search on the bottom right above the windows start button, although it doesn't even say start anymore, it's just a windows sign)
    7. restart
    8. optionally after the computer recognizes the card, set the the User Account Control to ON again after the card installs.
Crazy, but it worked for a lot of ppl
    good luck!

  • A8N-SLI and TV@nywhere Problem: SEMI-Resolved

Ok...I replaced my K7N2G-ILSR with a A8N-SLI with twin MSI 6600GT's (see sig), and I get nothing but static when trying to use my old TV@nywhere (not a Master). I used the updated drivers, patch, and software from the site.
Does anyone have a clue? It used to work like a charm.
    UPDATE:
Ok, it turned out to be a bad splitter, and now it works. HOWEVER, it's noisy when I surf the web, with static and interference distortion in the picture. I thought it might be the wireless card, so I pulled it, and kept it connected via ethernet, but that didn't fix it.
    Anyone? Bueller?

This is wonderful I just solve my problem with the Remote Control, I Follow the suggestions from this people and my problem is fixed... now I can use it. Thank You very much

  • TV@NYWHERE PROBLEM...........FED UP NOW

well i guess this problem must have been faced by many memebers here.........................
Actually, i have MSI TV@NYWHERE(not master)..and having the old version of msipvs(windvr 2)...which is too old for my style. .
I trid to install WINDVR 3 then...but it wont detect the tv tuner card....no picture or noise comes..
I tried another program and the problem remains.
    What should i do????any idea.. .
    There's another question. .
I saw that the msi website also has the drivers for tv@nywher master, and the new msipvs..can i download th tv@nywhr-master or plus drivers and software and have it successfully working with the old tv@nywher..
    Please solve these probs..

the tv@nywhere is an old card now, and i doubt if the new MSIPVS is designed to work with it
you can try contacting MSI if you need help, but i would stick to using the old MSIPVS if that worked for you, along with your old drivers for TV@nywhere (not Master)
MSI drivers and MSIPVS for TV@nywhere are found here:

  • Major tv@nywhere problems!

Somebody please help me...I'm going crazy here.  I can't get tv@nywhere to do anything but lock up my computer.  It tries to use my msi-Gf4ti4600 capture drivers as default.  So the only thing I get is some little black & white lines going accross the screen when I start WinDVR.  When I try to change to the PVS drivers, my computer locks up hard.  I've moved the tv-card to every available pci slot (to avoid any IRQ conflicts) but that still didn't work either.  Here's my specs for anyone who has something similar:
    mobo: msi k7d master-L
    cpu's: athlon MP 2100 x2
    memory: crucial 512mb x2
    vid:  Gf4ti4600 (msi)
    sound:  SBLive! Platinum 5.1
I've called MSI like 5 times now and i'm just getting the run-around.  I've tried downgrading my nvidia drivers, uninstalling the nvidia WDM drivers, etc.  The weird thing is, that the tv-card works on another computer, so it's not the tv-card that's wrong, it must be a driver issue.  Anybody have any ideas or anything I could try??

uninstall the windvr and the pvs drivers.  Reboot.
Install the drivers that came with the card.  Install the beta drivers over the factory ones.  Reboot.
    Install the windvr.  Reboot.
If that doesn't work it was some kind-of a combo between that.  Maybe after installing the windvr, re-install the beta drivers.  It took some time to get it to work, but it finally does.  Let me know what works for you.  Good luck.
actually, what i did was install the original drivers over the beta... and now the remote works. however, i'm still having trouble with the sound issues. apparently, it likes to default to "aux" instead of the "line in" that my computer prefers to use...

  • TV@nywhere Problem! No video

This is a huge load of crap.  I have been waiting for this card for two weeks.  I finally get it, install it, and it doesn't even work.  I installed everything according to the manual and I have the newest drivers for it.  I get audio but no video, just a black screen.  I'm not getting any video signal for TV, cable, composite or s-video.  It autoscanned the channels and the audio works just fine.
Anybody know how to fix this?  Here's some system specs if they will help:
    Soyo P4I Fire Dragon
    Intel P4 2.4Ghz
Abit Siluro GeForce 4 Ti 4200
    Windows XP
I am not running service pack 1 and I have the newest certified Nvidia detonator drivers.

That's it!  This card is completely worthless!  I just reformatted my comp and reinstalled XP.  The card still doesn't work.  I've tried it in every PCI slot.  The card still doesn't work.  I installed service pack 1 and then the updated drivers for the card.  It still doesn't work.
Anyone who has claimed to have got this card to work is either very lucky or a liar.

  • Problem with tv@nywhere plus on windows 8

    hi
i have a problem with tv@anywhere plus on windows 8. i can setup the pvr plus app completely but when i open that and click on "watch and record dtv program" icon, i will see an error that says: "invalid class string!"
i think this problem should be for its driver because i'm using windows 8 64bit and the driver is for windows 7, i couldn't find an appropriate driver for windows 8 on MSI driver downloads, as matter of fact it didn't exist.
so what should i do for my problem?

I'm afraid TV@nywhere Plus is a bit outdated for Win8. There is no update so far since 2010. Could be MSI won't add Win8 support if it would be anyway possible.

Patience Yuz this forum has no input from MSI so you have to wait until someone, somewhere else in the world is awake.
Regards to MSIPVS yes it is awful and there has been quite some discussion within this section of the forum and the survey section as to the problems with this software. It is not only MSIPVS that is at fault the drivers also need some work. On some PC`s MSIPVS causes crashes but by far the biggest complaint is the poor display. Also MSIPVS or the card/drivers not sure which, will not remember it`s locale, every time it is started it will go back to the default in my case it seams to be PAL_B and some times to NTSC my locale is the UK and the TV setting should be PAL_I but getting to stay on PAL_I is a big problem. It makes it hard to schedule a recording as it will probably start in the wrong format. I agrre with you that feeware software is better than MSIPVS.
Thanks to your previous post I can confirm that you have sorted the remote`s missing functions.
Now all we need to get the drivers and MSIPVS sorted.

  • TV@nywhere Master Recording Problems

The TV@nywhere Master works fine for viewing, but I can't record without problems.  There is a sound problem with all available versions of WinDVR.  The recorded sound regularly "warbles" or pulsates. It is detectable when a musical tone is playing, otherwise it may be hard to hear. It is very annoying once you pick up on it.  Other interVideo programs WinProducer and WinDVD Recorder exhibit the same problem.
I tried PowerVCR and I get an error message when attempting to record in MPEG2:
S0009 : Unable to render preview video stream.
I have all the latest drivers and software versions. I even tried a clean install of Windows several times and a different sound card, but no luck. I'm getting nowhere with tech support. Very frustrating.
    ASUS A7N8X Deluxe MB
Onboard nForce2 sound (also tried Soundblaster Audigy)
    AMD 2800+ Barton CPU
    512MB DDR RAM
    GeForce 5600 Video Card
    250 Gig Hard drive
    Windows XP

Using PowerVCR II 3.0, and there is no Use Smart Tee option available.
    Here's all the options:
    Video -> Overlay Options -> Overlay/Non-Overlay  (Non-overlay causes a crash)
    Profiles
Check boxes for MMX, SSE, 3DNow and Enhanced 3DNow.  All are checked.
Recording / Advanced -> Advanced Options
Video Smoothing (during recording) - unchecked
Intelligent Noise Removal (during recording)  checked
Enable Time-Shifting when recording  - unchecked
Have tried changing most of these settings but always get error message, unless I use MPEG1 which is not acceptable quality.
I did a search in Help for "Smart" and for "Tee" and there are no matches.

  • Problem with the TV@nywhere Master's sound

    Hi,
    I have TV@nywhere Master.
The TV picture is OK, but the sound swithcing off after about  90 seconds of playing.
Then I change station and the sound is back. But after 90 seconds it switch off again.
    etc.
Does someone know how to solve this problem.
    Thank You,
    Mike

    dear Mike
I have the same problem. to the best of my judgement, this is hardware problem and you  should contact the manufacturer for warranty coverage through your dealer.

  • TV @nywhere Line-In Problem

I have a tv tuner card that I have been using for the past few months to play ps2 on my pc. I just had a RAID-0 Card installed on my pc, and now when I try to use the MSI PVS software to play games, I get video from my ps2, but the sound comes from the coax cable and not from my ps2.
When I hook it all up, I have the ps2 S-Video connected to the TV card, and I have the composite sound plugged into an RCA to Stereo converter and then connected to the line-in on the TV card. I have tested my ps2 on a tv, and it works properly, and I have tried connecting other devices to the TV card's line-in and I have gotten no sound.  ;(
I was wondering if anyone has had a problem like this or knows how to fix it. I think it might be an IRQ conflict, but windows xp doesn't detect it, and its a pain in the @$$.
    Thanks.

Well, what you said is a workaround, but it doesn't solve the problem that MSI TV@nywhere does not work as described/designed.
For example, if the TV@nywhere has a SVHS/RCA-in, and it don't work. The workaround is to use a TV for that, but that totally defeat the point of having a TV-card. (of course I'm exaggerating, but I hope MSI can provide some *real* solution to the mistakes they made.

  • TV@nywhere Plus Cable problem

    Hello folks...
I have recently gotten a TV@nywhere Plus card and installed it in my machine.  It scans for channels and seems to find them, but the picture quality is terrible.  However,  If I choose antenna as the input it picks up the channels 2 to 12 and the picture is great! (I don't have an antenna connected, so the signal just is picked up out of the air) But, as soon as I choose the Cable input it sucks.  I live in Canada and my machine is an AMD 1800+ with a MSI KT3 Ultra motherboard, 1 GB of RAM, a MSI FX 5500 viodeo card, Running XP Home with service pack 2 and all updates applied
    Hope someone can help,
    Nets

Lets start from the bottom and work up. Have you eliminated the cable & splitter hookup as the source of the problem by connecting to a TV? I had a problem similar to that when I first installed my TV@Plus and I had to remove/re-install the software and get a new cable & splitter before I could get it work.. No you don't need to use RG6. It does not hurt to have better but it's not a requirement.
