Twitter issue and hotspot issue
Just got my N9 and have 2 issues that i've noticed so far. 1st while in the twitter application it will not let me see trending topic. Second issue is that the hopspot doesnt 'work. if i try to launch it it says wireless network not allowed. Any ideas?
for twitter, do the following:
make sure that you have enabled developer mode:
open xterm (do not devel-su into the terminal)
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/http_proxy
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/proxy
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/osso
this wipes all the bluetooth connections and internet connection data as well, but that is easy to redo.
for the wifi hotspot do the following:
open xterm (devel-su into the terminal)
echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/wl1271/allow_adhoc
note: you will have to redo the echo command each time your device is rebooted as it reverts to default upon the boot.

Facetime and HotSpot features not available.
Got an iphone 4 as a gift from UAE. I cant find the facetime and hotspot features in settings. I am currently in Pakistan. I have read that UAE govt does not allow facetime so its not available there but there is no such restrictions in Pakistan. What do I need to do to bring those features in my iphone 4 now?
In chile is available because I have seen others Iphone4 from Entel or Movistar working properly with facetime. I have a Claro Iphone4, I have requested the solution directly to claro, they say the phone number is not reconized by apple so they keep sending an email to some support external area (from apple I guess) which suppouse to activate my phone number to work with facetime.. so far and after waiting more than a month still activation is unsuccesfull.
On the Hotspot issue, is not even listed in settings eventhough I have version 4.3.2. -

I have Mountain Line with Safari 6.0.2. I used to open Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc. and everytime I select "Stay signed in" "Remember my password" etc. but it doesn't save my passwords and everytime I have to sign in again. I never sign out from these websites but when I open it next time, it requires username & password.
Does anybody know the problem & solution, plz help. I also found disk erros and reaoired permissiomn and the restarted and did disk utlty again and repaired the same disk errors and then did a restart and still does not remember passwords or ask me. Did all this still no luck it saved apple login on here and saved gmail account but others one it used to save does no longer.here is what i did below and still no luck.

Click on the box next to 'User Names and Passwords.'

Click on a password listing and push the 'Remove' button in order to delete the password from Safari's memory.

Choose 'Remove All' in order to delete all of the saved passwords.
12I suggest that you run software update, after which you should have Safari 6.0.5 - then check Safari - Preferences - Privacy & see that 'Block cookies' is not set to Always.
Failing that - switch Safari extensions Off via Safari - Preferences - Extensions & test again -

Why no answer from Sony to LED and Hotspot still Broken?
Why in the world after I got suckered in to updating to ICS again (587), is LED notification for missed SMS and hotspot still not working?
Why has no one with some official stature with Sony Mobile not posted a discussion to explain what the heck is going on?
Is the group in Sweden that bad?
Maybe that is why the office is being closed and the mobile group moved to Japan. The mobile group obviously needs better management.

Have you called Sony Tech Support to open a case?
I have done so with each release of ICS, as I had to send my phone in for re-install of Ginberbread.
I wonder if the call-in database would have more impact vs. this online forum.
I COMPLETELY agree with you that they should at least acknowledge the situation here on the forum by someone fairly high up on the product team.

Sorry there no way to get rid of them, those came built in with the IOS.
There is no reminder on your phone only way is if you go to settings and see them.
Whether you like the brand or not, it's not hurting you in any way.
if you don't like suggest you get a different phone maybe an Android phone. -
Loading Twitter usernames and photos to contacts
Is anyone else having trouble loading Twitter usernames and photos to contacts on the iPhone 4S? Twitter is working fine, and my contacts are loaded correctly. But when I go to settings and click on the option to load Twitter usernames and photos to my contacts, the status bar acts as if it's updating the contacts, then says "0 contacts updated."
I have tried several times but it kicks me back to the home screen after a short pause. No status bar. Twitter app seems to work ok, but not from System Pref.

I just had to restore my iPhone. After everything has been backed up from the iCloud, 4 of my apps (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram) will not comeback. They are stuck on "Waiting" and I cannot open or delete them. HELP, please!!!

Trying to set up both an Employee and Hotspot ssid connection. The Hotspot is working fine. The Employee is not broadcasting SSID (by design) and will not connect from a manually configured preferred network entry. Also - Dot11Radio0 interface is working - Dot11Radio1 is in reset mode. Can someone please take a look at the attached config and to see where I'm going wrong?Well, one fix that jumps out at me is:

IIRC, I believe a radio may go into reset mode if it has no clients on it. Try connecting on A (once you have G working properly) and see if that works. -
Hello, I tried updating my twitter yesterday and it's has been saying "waiting" since 4pm yesterday. Today I went to the apple the store and we tried every method to try to fix it but it couldn't be fixed and they sent me to you guys. Any idea what the problem is or how I can fix it? thank you
For the last 2 1/2 weeks Droid Incredible 2 has been doing the same thing....uninstalled countless apps, then even a factory resest. Plugged it in last night at 40% power, it was charging. Woke up this morning and once again completed dead. Apparently, this is happening to a great number of Incredible 2 owners. Hope Verizon makes it right.

The wifi iphone 5 issue. Is it effecting the iphone 5 hotspot ??
I purchased the IPhone 5 specificly for the mobile hot spot. I got rid of my MiFi and I have been working on this for 3 months. Phone was exchanged for new one and set up as new phone 3 times! What really makes me angry is that they put me through hours on the phone, going to the Apple store, restoring as a new phone and replacing all of my contacts, re-setting up my voice mail...hours of my time when they KNEW none of this would work!
They know these devices are defective but refuse to stand behind their products. They want me to take some small gift from the online store. I am not looking for something for free, I am looking for a solution. I asked if they would defray the cost of me obtaining a new MyFi and they refused to even consider it.
Apple has a huge pull on me because I am deep into the ecosystem of Apple. I did this because I trusted Apple. That trust is dead. I am giving them one more chance to see if engineering can come up with a solution. If not, I am off the AT&T to purchase a Samsung Galaxy and release myself from all things Apple.
If you are having the same problem, don't waste your time. Apple believes they no longer need to stand behind their products. It's time that consumers help Apple regain some humility! -
Twitter api and $("#Stage").css("margin","top") issue
I put the twitter api from commonedge.org into my web project.
But I couldn't get it to work until i removed this from my stage:
$("#Stage").css("margin","top").
Once it was removed, the twitter api worked fine...
when I put it back in, it stops working again.
I'm puzzled why this is?
Anyone have an idea?Ok,... so I figured out this was a line from hell... and I dont even know where I got it from
(as I've been juggling learning edge's actions/codes and messing things up).
Not only the twitter, but nothing else worked, symbols, actions, mouse and touch functions until I removed this line.
Once I deleted $("#Stage").css("margin","top") from the stage... it's all happy again
(until I put something else in that i have no clue what does)
it would be interesting though, if anyone knows if there EVER would be a reason to have this line?
And why it would/could kill all other functions? -
MAJOR Twitter issue on ALL iDevices
There's a really weird issue with the Tap to Tweet button. If you are currently in the Twitter app, for whatever reason, Tap to Tweet and COMPLETELY FREEZE your device up. It is completely unresponsive and must either be reset by holding Home and Lock OR the WatchDog thread automatically reboots the device (Or probably restarts the springboard because it restarts really quick) the unresponsive device. Actually, while it's frozen, if the loading indicator by the carrier or device name is spinning, it will spin while it's frozen. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, though. But, I can confirm it on iPhone 4, iPad with Retina Display (3rd generation), and my newer iPhone 5.
Is there a solution to this glitch? I've accidentally frozen my iPhone about 7 times and my iPad about 5 times because of this.
Just to make sure it still happens, I went into the twitter app on my iPhone 5 and my iPad 3 at the same time, hit tap to tweet, and THEY BOTH FROZE! Can anyone else confirm it?
