Two computers not coordinating

I have a pc and a laptop connected to a wireless home network. Home share isn't working between the two, even though it had been. This doesn't seem to be a network issue. Both are connected ... internet function is fine ... wireless printer function is fine.
I have turned off and logged back in to both computers. One of the computers appears to see the other, but does not list some recent additions to the music library.
The other computer does not show a homeshare library icon even when both are signed in.
Any idea what is wrong?

Connecting iPod to two computers - not setup for Apple account ...

A co-worker bought an iPod classic and downloaded and installed iTunes on his desktop computer at home.
He did NOT create an iTunes account at the time. He just imported music off his hard drive and CDs and then sync'd his iPod. After that he started creating playlists.
Now he has a laptop that he wants to also connect the iPod too. He downloaded iTunes, connected the iPod, and it says it was sync'd to another computer and do you want to erase all the files off the iPod and sync it with iTunes on this computer. I told him to click on cancel.
The question is, how does he get it so both computers have the same account?
The easier one to modify would be the laptop. We can copy iTunes folder to somewhere else to back them up. Now how do we create a compatible account on the laptop so the iPod knows it is the same account? Does that make sense?
I did have him create an iTunes account and I would like to get both of his Windows computers set so that this is the account both computers see.

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different. You can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes and you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library:

Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod
You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 or later installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. You could alternatively buy some syncing software ( unfortunately there doesnt seem to be any freeware syncing options) and use sometype of transfer medium (usb thumb drive?)

Can I update the MacBook before going back to it by disconnecting Time Machine from my iMac, connecting Time Machine to my MacBook Pro via Firewire 800 and restoring?

Hi! I have a new MacBook Pro, but I haven't been able to put iTunes on it even though I have used it for years on my iPhone, iPad, and two Windows desktops and two Windows laptops. I keep getting the message that "I am exceeding my iTunes account limit of 5 computers (not counting my iPhone and iPad, which are explicitly excluded from the count according to the message)". As anyone can see, I only have 4 computers, so I should not have any problems with installing iTunes, but this same message says that I need to deauthorize at least one computer or maybe I have extra authorizations on a computer.
I can't even find a list or map of the computers on my iTunes account! Please, somebody help ASAP!!!!! Thanks!!!!!

Imap wasn't designed for this kind of multi user situation. It assumes that you the account owner will be using it to manage one account via multiple devices. So once you have read a message it has been read, regardless of which device you were using at the time.
You appear to be describing a situation where you want more than one user to read each message, without anyone knowing if anyone else has read it or even dealt with it. Frankly, I can't imagine a set of circumstances where this workflow would make sense or be useful.
You can do various things such as manually setting messages as unread, or moving them from one folder to another to indicate that they have been processed, but much of this relies on users being thorough and conscientious.
You may need to be running your own server to do this sort of email message managing, if you really need to fork a message so it gets to multiple recipients. Managing which users see a particular message is a job for a server, not the end-user's email client.

On two computers installed Desktop 7 and Lotus Notes crashed when I performed Organizer sync.

I upgraded to Desktop 7 on two very different computers. In both cases after following the prompts Lotus Notes crashed when I performed an organization sync. I sync calendar, memo and tasks 2 way and use defualts. Went back to (uninstalled 7) Desktop 6.1.0.36 and everything works fine now. We use Lotus Notes client 7.0.2
This is one of the most important features so it must work flawlessly. I use usb to sync. This is Windows XP 64 bit. I have another computer with same problem that is Windows XP 32 bit that use bluetooth to sync.
The Desktop Manager does not crash. Even if Lotus Notes Client is not running, while doing a sync I get display indicating that Lotus Notes crashed. It says it is sending diagnostic information to the admin but it stays there for hours and closer examination indicates no cpu cycles are being used. (SysInternals process explorer used to debug stuck threads - I am a software developer.)

That doesn't make sense, I used to go back and forth between my two computers and transfer music from each to my ipod. It was never a problem. Now with Itunes 7, it will not let me. Plus, I used to be able to drag playlists into the ipod and then the songs would transfer. Now when I drag up the playlists it won't let me drop them into the ipod. So . . . it can't be impossible to put music from two computers onto one ipod.

Also, you can only use it on two computers if they belong to the same person, are used only by that one person, and are not used at the same time. To install on two computers for two people needs two licenses. Adobe sell volume licenses, but do not sell an "all the computers in the office" license.

Neither my local computer consultant nor I have been ableto change any of the settings in Time Machine to correct this problem. Working with the choices in the TimeMachine, there does not appear that there is any way to change the frequency ofthe backups either, so, after a year has elapsed, the time capsule is full, andmy only choice appears to be to erase all the current data on the Time Capsuleand start over, something that I do not want to at all let alone repeat on anannual basis. How much data is being backed-up from each Mac? (see what's shown for Estimated size of full backup under the exclusions box in Time Machine Prefs > Options).
Is there any other data on your Time Capsule, besides the backups?
Most likely, there just isn't room. Time Machine may be trying to do a very large (or full) backup of one or both Macs, and can't. Since it won't ever delete the most recent backup, there has to be enough room for one full backup plus whatever it's trying to back up now, plus 20% (for workspace).

Why on two computers, ArialNarrowBold is missing (adminstrator can open; but not non-administrators)

I have two odd and frustrating problems involving only two DELL desktops that for the most part only Freelancers use.
Both computers have CS2. When an ai.file tries to open up, i get the following msg: "FONT PROBLEMS, ArialNarrowBold: Default Font Substituted for Missing Font."
Recently, when i had an employee sit at one of these computers, i had him try to open up an ai.file using his log in, and he got the message too; as does any freelancer using freelancer login ID at these two computers...no other computer in our studio has this issue.
Our outsourced IT company has done as much as they can e.g. make sure fonts are not restricted, etc...but everything is ok
The second odd problem is that when an Administrator logs on with Adm rights, the msg does not appear.
I have unistalled CS2; reinstalled, and the same msg appears.
Adobe Tech support said they do not support CS2 and told me to try the forum..so i am...i hope somone has an answer or insight to why this is happening.

It sounds like the permissions and ownership for users other than administrator is set to read only. It could simply be the folder that arial is in a higher directory or perhaps the font itself you can go to the top directory and mark it as read write for each account and have that apply to all directories below.
Directory is a folder or a volume.
On a Mac this is fairly easy if you have administrative privileges.
On the Windows side you will have to get that info from one of the Windows person but it is more manual and a bit more difficult.

BEFW11S4 will not connect two computers at once.

As gv has already requested, please post the output of "ipconfig /all" on each of the two computers.
In particular, do not -- repeat do NOT -- try to make both computers have the same IP address, because that is a situation in which both will NOT be able to connect to the internet at the same time. They need different -- repeat DIFFERENT -- IP addresses in order to do so.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
