Two external interfaces; one to be used for outboud; second to be used for incoming VPN\Web traffic.

I'm configuring our ASA and we have two AT&T circuits which we're only using one with our current Juniper firewall. I know the ASA doesn't support policy based routing so I'm wondering if the following hypothetical "config" is possible.
External Interfaces:
OUT_01 - 12.133.X.X
OUT_02 - 201.61.X.X
I would route all internal traffic to go out through OUT_01.
We have over 5 site-to-site VPN and 30 external facing servers.  Could I use OUT_2 to configure all the inbound connections for the VPN and NAT rules?

You can configure the ASA to allow asynchronous routing, as you are describing, by configuring TCP bypass.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/asa82/configuration/guide/config/conns_tcpstatebypass.html
What this will do is you will still need to send traffic out one interface but the ASA will accept return traffic on either of the outside interfaces.  Configuring this can be a security risk as the ASA will ignor the state table.
Or you could wait until ASA version 9.4 which will have support for PBR.  Ofcourse this is the first version that will support it, so don't be suprised if it has a few bugs.

  • I connect to the wifi source for five seconds and then disconnect for eight seconds. Then my ipad repeats. True for all wifi signal sources.

    no image

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Using two external HD, one being a subset of the other

Hi, I have a laptop connected to an external 250GB HD for my music files. This HD is my music server. I drag files from the 250GB HD to iTunes and everything works fine.
Now I have copied on a second 80GB portable HD the music I would like to listen to when I am on my sailboat, away from my music server. This actually a subset of the music that I have on the 250GB HD (exactly the same folders except the drive name is different).
I would like to find an easy way to switch between the 250GB and 80GB without having to re-import music in iTunes all the time I switch. I don't mind if I see all the library with music missing because they are not copied over to the subset. I noticed that I could go in the .XML file and change the path so that it now reflects the 80GB HD path name. But that is not enough because I still have to re-import the music. I think something in the .itl file must also change. I have tried Libra to manage multiple libraries but this is not what I want. I want to copy my music to a smaller HD when I am on the move.
    Thanks
    in advance for your help.
    Georges

If you want to have two separate libraries for ITunes, the best way is to use iTunes' built-in feature to create a new library. Hold down the Shift key while launching iTunes. You'll be given a dialog box where you can either select the iTunes library you want to use or create a new one. Create the new library on your 80GB drive. It will be blank to start with, so drag your tracks into the iTunes Music folder in that new location, then use the iTunes Add Folder to Library feature and select that iTunes Music folder. That should add those tracks to the iTunes Library for your 80GB drive.
Then when you want to switch back and forth, just quit iTunes, hold down the Shift key and relaunch. Then select the library you want to use. If your 250GB drive just holds the music and doesn't have the library files as well, you'll select the iTunes folder on your internal hard drive.

  • Late 2011 MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion - Have two external displays (one MiniDisplay, one VGA-USB), how do I rotate just the one screen?

The primary, horizontal monitor is connected by the VGA-MiniDisplay adapter, and the secondary monitor (vertical) is connected with a VGA-USB adapter. They both connect fine, but I only have the option to rotate both at once. That is, the main 'System Preferences' window that shows up on the primary monitor has the option to rotate, but only there -- when I rotate that screen it rotates both.
Also, I'm not going to be using the actual MacBook screen. Any ideas as to how I can get this to work? Thanks!

The Apple TB displays I've seen come with two TB connectors. You can cascade them in daisy-chain fashion.
However, you are limited to how much information the GPU can produce and store. I've been told by the local apple shop (not an official Apple Store) geeks that if you cascade two of the big displays onto one of the Macs (big models), both will fire up, but the Mac's internal display will be disabled. Apparently 1GB of VRAM isn't enough for so many framebuffers.

  • I tried to set up two users on one computer, now I can't make iTunes match work for either.

Lots of people seem to be having multiples user problems on iTunes, but I can't find a solution to mine so please help.
I got a new iMac.  Switched it on.  Connected to iTunes Match - all fine and dandy.
After a couple of weeks I decided I should follow Apple's advice and set up a separate user account on the imac for my wife.  I connected to iTunes match using her user name and down loaded a bunch of her favourite music.
Naive fool that I was, I didn't realise I had fallen into Apple's moronic multi-user trap. Only one user on one computer can use it????  Why???
I thought that it was me being stupid so I switched everything off - including iTunes Match.  Now nothing works.
If I log on with my iTunes ID and try to switch on iTunes Match it asks me if I want to add this computer, and then gives me the "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID - you can't use it for 90 days" message.
If I use my wife's iTunes ID, it asks her if she would like to subscribe for £21.99 a year.
The exact same thing happens whether I sign into the computer itself with my account or hers.
This is awe inspringly annoying.  Please tell me how to fix this.
    thanks.

At this time there is no "solution." You'll simply have to wait the 90 days to re-enable iTunes Match.
For now here is my suggestion. In your User Account, in OS X, sign out of whatever iTunes Store account you are signed in with. Then sign in with your store account and leave it at that. Now sign out of your OS X User Account, sign into your wife's OS X User Account and sign into the iTunes Store with her Apple ID (if necessary sign out of the account first).
Now, you can go back to your OS X User Account and attempt to enable iTunes Match. You will probably get the "wait 90 days" message. If so leave it, mark your calendar, and wait for the 90 days to expire. You can try contacting iTunes Store support at <https://expresslane.apple.com> if you wish, but I really do not know how useful that will be.
Incidentally, you get the message to pay for the service when trying to enable it on your wife's Apple ID because the service has not been purchased using that Apple ID. iTunes Match is designed to be a single-user service that is never signed out of and is associated with one, and only one, Apple ID and a regional store.

  • I have two phones sharing one icloud account. How do I keep the phones for sharing stock application information?

I have two iphones and three macbook pros. Instead of using my ical server to sync my calendar I am now using icloud to sync the calendars. Since I implemented this the stocks on each phone which were different are now same when the phone syncs. How do I break the syncing between the iphone stock applications?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, providing you with your own contacts, calendars etc, not doing so will result in exactly what you have experienced. The contacts have likely been lost due to the options you have chosen at the login stage on each device.
Unless you have the missing contacts in a backup file, they won't be recoverable unfortunately. You can add them manually to the contracts that already exist and continue to share the iCloud account if you wish, but I suggest that you each have your own iCloud account.
Note, you can each have your own iCloud account, but continue to share an iTunes account for purchases of apps, books, music, TV shows etc etc.

  • I ahve two phones on one apple ID, how can i track them both using find my friend?

I have an iphone 5 (work phone) and a 4 (home cell) both using the same iCloud and apple log-in. Only my iphone 5 shows up on find my freinds app and when i try to invite the "4" i get an error that you cannot invite yourself (it previously showed up before i got the 5).... I use my 4 for running etc and would like my wife and freinds to be able to track me if i get in trouble or am late for dinner

You're most likely gonna need another verified email address associated with your Apple ID to make this work. You'd then use that email address on the iPhone 4.

  • HT4314 I have two iPad with one game centre account as the second iPad is my sons machine. I created a second game centre account but am not able to log into it as game centre only seems to let me put in an appleID, can someone suggest how I can get his s

I have two iPads, one is my son's machine. Previously he had an IPad 1 and mine was an ipad2. The iPad 1 died so I bought myself a new ipad4. I have only one appleID for both machines but created two Game centre accounts as there is a couple of games we both play and have different high scores. ipad 4 is nicely set up with all of my game data but now I would like some help in reinstating My sons game centre account (previously on the ipad1) now on the iPad 2. When I try to log into game centre it only lets me out in my appleID which gives up my game center account. Thankyou.

You and your husband can share a store account and still have seperate iCloud accounts for your contacts, bookmarks and stuff like that.  Click here for instructions to make an apple account without entering a credit card.  Make sure you use a different email address for each apple account.
Set up your iPhone/iPad whatever using the new account for iCloud.  Then go into settings/store and sign in with your purchasing account, you may need to sign out of the other account.  To the best of my knowledge, your household is allowed to share purchased legally, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Once you each have your own devices set to your own accounts you can set them to backup to that account and it will keep all your contacts seperate.

  • How do I adjust my titles so they don't fade in and out? I have hundreds of photos/videos on screen for a second or so each, for a year-long birthday video, and I need the dates in my titles to be steady rather than fading in and out spastically.

I have been working on a project since December of 2012 for my son's first birthday. Basically, it's a photo or quick video each day of his life so far. I used the "upper" title and made the titles not fade in and out, because that could give someone a seizure. The idea is a seamless title that ticks away each day. But in the new iMovie, it changed my settings, and I can't for the life of me find how to change them back.
Now, each date flashes in and out, in and out, in and out. Fractions of seconds go by. It's really distracting and annoying.
How do I get the titles to remain on screen and not fade in and out? I had it just how I wanted it, but now we're rapidly approaching my son's birthday, and the video is suddenly a mess.
    How do I fix this?

I am working with the very same concept for my project and the auto fade in and out has messed everything up. If I hear or a fix I'll be sure to reply here to let you know!

  • GT780DX FPS Drops for 10 seconds - power also drops for same time

     Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue to the one i'm experiencing.
I can be playing a game at 100fps no problems then it cuts down to 20fps for anywhere between 8-15 seconds. At first I thought it might be a heat issue or perhaps a throttling issue attached to heat. Eventually having installed throttlestop and logging some data I discovered that my power was dropping down to that of battery power at random intervals.
Do you think this might be the PSU cord thing itself or an error internal to the system?
    Thanks for any help

First, I would do a few things....
    1. While playing a game, monitor the GPU temperature (MSI Afterburner works well). Is it getting up above 80 degrees C? If so, you have a problem....
    2. While playing a game, monitor the CPU temperature. Is it getting up above 80 degrees C? If so, you might have a problem....
    3. If the above 2 are not getting too hot, then you might really have a problem with the power adapter. I'm not sure how you would really monitor that, aside from watching the Windows icon to see if the battery is discharging or charging. If that's the case, a new adapter would most likely fix the issue.

  • Macbook Pro support for two external displays

I keep seeing articles since yesterday stating that the new MBP retina display supports 3 external monitors and the new Macbook Air supports two (through just one ThB port?) but how come no one says anything about the new regular MBP's support? If the Air supports two isn't the regular MBP also supposed to be able to work with two external monitors?

USB video has performance limitations, but it's fine for stuff that doesn't involve fast-action video.
ah yes, sorry, the new USB 3 now supports speeds up to 5 GB/sec so it may become suitable for AV use. Actually, only ThunderBolt (and HDMI) has higher speed than the USB 3 port.
but I just found this page here at the Apple support, which states that the Air and Pro both support 2 displays and the retina MBP one more through the HDMI port, so I guess now it's official

  • Macbook Pro 2013 with two external monitors (Docking station)?

    Hi there,
I am currently using an iMac 27 2013, but have come to the conclusion that a Macbook Pro 13" would suit my needs better as I now often need a mobile solution.
However, when at home, I would like to hook it up to my two external Dell (Mini DP) monitors in order to have more workspace.
For that, I am looking for some kind of Docking Station because it would be awesome just to have to plug in one cable and not all the USB cables for my other stuff, like midi keyboard etc.
Is there something I can purchase that offers me all I need or would you rather stay with the iMac?
    Thank you!

Maybe someone with a 2010 model will jump in and correct me, but as you only have a single Mini DsplayPort adapter, I don't think that it's possible to have two external models on a 2010 model. You can only do it on 2011+ via Thunderbolt using Thunderbolt Displays.
You might want to ask your question in the Apple Cinema Display forum, though. I'm just not aware that it can be done.

  • Problems to connect two external firewire hardrives at the same time

I try to have both external connected at the same time one via Firewire 800 and the other via Firewire 400 and it doesn't work. My solution is to change to Usb 2.0 one of them. Maybe I have a problem with my Firewire? How can I check if the ports are working properly?

I'm having a similar problem. New iMac 24" with one FW 400 and one FW 800. I have a Seagate in an external case connected to the FW 400 and I got a new LaCie D2 triple interface and am trying to connect via the FW 800. Both drives have their own power supplies. When I connect the LaCie to the 800 port, it mounts and works fine. But as soon as I connect the Seagate to the 400 port, the LaCie icon disappears and I get a message about improper removal of a device. So, both drives work fine when connected one at a time, but don't play nicely together. I will appreciate any suggestions.
