Two querys in Web Application designer

Hi,
I have two querys in a Web Application desigern.
Query A has a variable A, which should be filled by user.
Query B has a Variable B, which is depend on the value of the variable A and should be filled in the background.
how can I realize this requirement.
thanks and best regards

Hi, Can you share us more specifics? I beleive both your query have the same type of Charateristic on which the Web report is generated. Consider using a common variable; If not so (i.e. entirely different char types), else if your requirement is to pass complete variable's data from one variable to another, you may try using exits; or better approach use any RRI functionality to pass variables from one query to another based on an event (say button click) in WAD. If you are not interested in either cases, say you want part of the data to be transferred? Like say, user enters 09.2009 & in Variable 2 you need only 2009? If you need such an approach; one: use simple option titled 'Copy Personalization Data from This Variable' under Defaults tab of the variable. Use some offset limitations incase you need to limit the data part using replacement path. Keep the variable optional for input. If you want to use the same personalization data in more than one variable, in the input field, specify the names of the variables under which the personalization data is stored. If not okay, then you may consider using customer exit varaibles. Thanks!

  • How to combine two queries using Web application Designer

    Hello experts...
This should be a simple request.
I have two existing queries that I simply want to display on the same template. What is the best way to do this?
To add more complexity to it, if there is a result value that I want to pull from each of them, how can this be done so that I can add the results of the two into one total?
Any help that you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Hi,
Displaying the existing queries on the same template is very simple... Drag and drop to web items... for ex we will drag and drop two analysis web item...
Create 2 data providers and assign it to the web items... each dataprovider is in turn assigned to two existing queries...
I am not sure about the result value to be pulled from each of them...

  • Web Application Designer - Concatenate two queries

    Hi All,
we using BI 7.0 SAP GUI 6.40 Support Package 14.
I created two Queries one with characteristics within hierarchy(1) and one for the result (2).
I put the first one in filter pane item (1) and the analysis item for the second (2).
If I executing the query I see a drop down menü for the first query (1) and the complete report on the second query(2).
So, when I choose a characteristics from the drop down(2) there don`t changed the data at the second query(2) (result).
How can I concatenate 2 Queries in Web Application Designer?
Please give me a step-by-step solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards, Wolfgang

Basically you have one query in your dropdown box and when you select one from the dropdown box you want to affect the second query. If that is the objective, then you can do that only in one query, attach the field you need in the dropdown box and create view for the table (analysis Item) and attach the view to the item. Make sure in the first dropdown box, check on the affected area which is going to be the table (analysis Item).
    thanks.

  • Insert a  BSP Application in  Web Application designer template (WAD)

    Hello to all
I like to place a BSP Application in my Web Application designer template (WAD). Have someone a good idea how to display a BSP in a web item.
    We use BW 7.0 .
Thanks a lot for any good idea.

    Christian,
There are many ways you can do this ...
    1. In Portal - you can have two iviews for the same and run both of them together ( there was something called client side eventing or something like that before - I am not sure if it still exists
    2. In WAD - use frames - use one frame for the WAD template and the other for the BSP ( I have never tried it in WAD 7.0 but it works in 3.x where you can introduce frames
    3. Possibly have the BSP as a link in the template so that it opens up separately ..?
    4. Instead of embedding the BSP into your WAD - embed your WAD into the BSP ..? this is also possible since the output of the template is HTML - but then you will have a hard time getting the context menu , export to excel etc which are all taken for granted in WAD.

  • How to maintain Master Data through Web Application Designer layout.

    Hi.
I’m Internship and I have to do something that it doesn’t work.
    I explain to you.
I have to make a layout via Web Application Designer to permit users to add a line in the master data XST_RFC.
For that, I did two things:
    First I followed this url : http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/607193d5-cdd5-2b10-c699-8ff04c3124f6?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true&38392712686871
The result; I have a problem with the appendix of method execute “DATA : ZL_WORKTEXT Type ZFREETEXT”. Here, SAP doen’t permit me to put XST_RFC (my characteristic to add by the user) but just /BIC/PXST_RFC… So, I tried with that and at the moment of the test in the Wad, the application say me “no Master Data in XST_RFC”. I know that there are no MD in my char, I just want to add once…
    So it doesn’t Work.
Secondly, after testing, the Function Module test works. When a put an ID in the test page of SAP Logon in parameters, the FM put this ID and create a new line with this new ID. So I had an idea, use directly this function module in a Fox Formula but, when a call my function, I have a problem with variable/parameters type.
My variable is TYPE XST_RFC , but my parameters is TYPE  /BIC/PXST_RFC….
    My Fox Formula
    DATA NEW_RFC TYPE XST_RFC.
    NEW_RFC = VARV(XVOU_RFC).
    CALL FUNCTION ZBWDSST_XX_MASTERDATAMAINTAIN
    EXPORTING
    VAR_RFC = NEW_RFC.
My error message Types of parameter VAR_RFC () and variable NEW_RFC(C) are inconsistent
If you can help me, I work on this issue for 4 days and I waste my time.
    Thanks.
    BR

    Dear All,
The text flow for 0WS_QUEST & 0WS_QSTNNR is sufficient to make available Criteria from source system questionnaire in BW.
After the text load (even it does not generate SID) we can already use Tcode SRM_VE_GROUPING & SRM_VE_WEIGHTING for customization of groupping and weighting in BW.

  • Query on WAD (Web Application Designer)

We have got request from the user on one WAD u2013 Web Application Designer Report for the extra functionality.
This WAD report contains 7 tabs, for each tab there is a separate query view has bee designed with default variable values.
While running the WAD report user will input values in the variable window for the variables (Eg: Fiscal Year, Org.Structureu2026etc), after executing the report, if the user switch to another tab in the same report, the variable values entered before execution of the report will not pass to the another tab by default because the query views have been designed in such a way that each query view will have its own default values.
Now the user is expecting the variable values entered for the first tab should be passed to other tabs as well, is it possible to pass values from one tab to another tab?
If its possible, could you guide us where (HTML code or web template parameters or any another things) exactly the required changes/modifications need to be made in WAD report?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi vishal ,
You are right .At first i did not get you solution
but later i treid some random seletion propeties for the text web item.
    I got it.
    Steps:
    1. Place the text element in the right panel of wad.
    2. Go to properties of test element.we have two in this 1.General 2.specific.
    3. In specific we have the Display General Text Elements.Checkthis Check box
    4.save.
Now you can see the ouptput.
But not only last loaded date but also other details like
    Last change by,created by,..refreshed date..etc

  • Chart problems in Web-Application Designer

    Hello,
I am trying to use CHART in Web Application Designer.
But whatever TYPE I select in that (pie/stack/..),
It shows the report with default chart type..
Then after one /two trials, I have run time error. & Web application Designer crashes. In preview of that chart on template, it shows the chart type I have selected.
What am I missing in my steps. Or is some library missing..
    Thanks for you suggestion.
Is very urgent & as I need to show report tomorrow.
    Regards,
    Santosh

    Hi Santosh,
<b>Defining the Width and Height of the Entire Chart</b>
    in the Properties
Enter the desired values in fields Width and Height of the window in which you are editing the chart. The entries should be in pixels.
    Choose Apply.
The size of the entire chart is changed according to your specifications.
Changing the Size of the Entire Chart with the Mouse
Point to the border of the preview window with the mouse.
The cursor becomes a double arrow.
Click on the border and pull the preview window to the required size.
The size of the entire chart is changed when you let go of the mouse key.
Changing the Size of the Plot Area or the Legend with the Mouse
Click on the element whose size you want to change (plot area or legend).
The element is enclosed in a move handle.
Point to one of the move handles with the mouse.
The cursor becomes a double arrow.
If the cursor does not become a double arrow, you might not have selected the right element, for example the chart area instead of the plot area. In this case click again on the element whose size you want to change.
Click on the move handle and keep the mouse key pressed.
    The cursor becomes a cross.
Pull the element to the desired size.
The size of the element is changed when you let go of the mouse key.
Avoid stretching the plot area over the whole area of the chart. The outermost border of the plot area disappears from the visible area in this case and cannot be clicked on again. You cannot change the size of the plot area. If you made the plot area too large by accident, you can undo it with the menu option Undo in the context menu. You can reset the plot area to its original size with Reset, but you will lose all the changes you made to the chart.
    <i><u><b><b><b><b>
It is simple issue D't worry..And one morething is  Check the <b>Specific Properties</b> of the Template</b></b></b></b></u></i> in Design of the web template.

  • SAP BW Web Application Designer- Style Sheet Reference

    Hi All,
Just wanted to find out if anyone knows how the style sheets are referenced in Web application designer 7. I need to change the colour of the total line. I can do this in se80 but how the style sheet is refrenced in the designer its self i what i would like to find out. I may be going down the wrong path and the layout and colours maybe controlled directly in the application designer itself, I am not sure, new to BI 7 tool set, use to 3.5!

    Hello,
It seems quite easy. You have just to maintain you style sheet on your MIME repository.
    Please, review these two threads:

  • Saving Templates in BEx Web Application Designer ?

    Hello,
I have a big problem with the Web Application Designer (BI AddOn 7.X (based on 7.10), Support Package 2, Patch 1, Revision 359).
If I save a template, the result is often bad. Most of the settings get lost while saving!
Sometimes it saves two times correctly and at the third time 90 percent of the settings (like colors, appearance of tables) are gone!
Moreover it's sadly not possible to save the xhtml code itself (i.e. in a Word document) and put it back in if the settings are lost, because the Web Application Designer does not accept the belated inserted code.
    Thank you in advance!

  • I get 'SAP BEx web Application designer has stopped workin' when click WAD

    Hi,
When I click on WAD(Web Application Designer option from Business Explorer menu),
I get "SAP BEx web Application designer has stopped working".
    I am running VISTA.
Any hints on how to deal with this problem?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I uninstalled and installed again the GUI and Bex Explorer
I installed again SetUpAll.exe and selected:
--SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 (Compilations3)
    --BW 3.50 Add-On for SAP GUI 7.10
    --Business Explorer
On completion, I had two options for WAD:
--Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x)
    --Web Application Designer
When I point my mouse on "Web Application Designer " for selection, there is a message that
"Business Explorer Web Application Designer  - Can only be used in SAP NetWeaver 7.1"
and when I go ahead to click on it, I get the error message I reported in my initial post
If I select Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x), it takes me in alright but the view is a bit different, in that in the New template of the Web Application, on the right pane, I do not see the icon for DataProvider which used to be there when I used to work in "Web Application Designer" instead of  "Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x)"
    Any hints?
    Thanks

  • Web Application Designer need help ASAP

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to customize the analysis item in a web application designer.
I have created new templetes and added a analysis with a query view as data provider .
in the output I require to hide some rows of the query view and also change the color of the text i.e the numbers.
How to modify the output of the analysis item which is coming from a query view or is there any way where I can modify the output of the web templete.
    Thanking You,
    Rukmini

    Dear Devi,
If you do not want to use the default display and behavior of the Analysis Web item, you can use the Modification parameter to change them. You can modify the table structure and the table cells.
The Modification parameter provides modules whose use can be controlled using additional parameters.
This function enables you to use similar options to those available in earlier releases with the Web Design API for Tables. Unlike the Web Design API for Tables, modifications enable you to make targeted changes to the display and behavior without any programming.
    Prerequisites
The modules are the main prerequisites for making modifications to the Analysis Web item. The modules are implemented in Java. The SAP Basis infrastructure in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 does not support any customer modifications or extensions to Java coding. Customers are therefore not able to develop their own modules for modifications to the Analysis Web item.
SAP delivers a number of sample modules. You can use parameters to modify the display and behavior of these modules.
    Procedure
You use the modules as follows:
           1.      Select a module from the sample modules.
           2.      Specify the module in the Modification parameter of the Analysis Web item.
           3.      Control the display and behavior of the module by specifying the module-specific parameters.
    Result
The table of the Analysis Web item is displayed in an individual manner using the modules. The behavior of the table may also be different. For example, you can define commands for table cells.
    Example
For example, you can define a fixed column width or display comments in cells.

  • Problem with layout in Web Application Designer

    Hi all,
I am working with the BEx Web Application Designer. Well, I execute a web template in the browser, click on right button and  choose enhanced menu, query properties and mark the check box Display Rows as Hierarchy and Expand to and from the list of values (combo-box) choose the last field that can be expanded.
Once all the lines have been expanded and the layout of the template is longer than a page, we look for a line that is not in the first page and contract it. The problem is that when we contract the line, the layout shows  the first page, instead of the page where the line had been contracted. I have tried to solve this changing the properties that appear when the template is designed, but I haven´t found the solution. Is there any way so that i can solve it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mª del Mar Bonilla.

    Bonilla,
    Welcome to SDN...
    Try this out...
In the Query designer view , right click on the rows structure and select display as hierarchy. In case this option works fine , the behavior pointed out by you could be a possible bug.
Just update the result of what I have mentioned above...
    Hope it helps..

  • URL link in rows/colomns of a report web application designer.

    Hi,
I would like to create a URL link in a report which jumps to documents on livelink.
    For example:
    1.  bw    30.000    www. google.nl
    2.  sap   40.000    www. sap.com
    3. basis  50.000   www. nu.nl
    etc.
    etc.
Do all the rows have different URLS, is that possible in the web application designer? Or do I have to use RRI? Or a user exit?
Thanks for your help en replies.
    Rishma.
Edited by: R. Debi on Oct 7, 2010 11:20 AM

I used the RRI already but would like to have a hyperlink in the report. (So, the prefix of the URL is always the same an I have put this in RRI and used the & and contract ID as dynamic part of the URL.)
In a BW web report, our customer would like to display a characteristic value as a hyperlink, so that when clicking on the link, the user is taken to an external website holding a document.  SO I am just looking for a javascript perhaps? Or maybe even abap in transformation? To actually create the hyperlink in this report.
    Thanks a lot,
    Rishma

  • To use Web Application Designer release 2004s do we need to have portals???

    Hi
I would like some clarity regarding whther we need a portal or not.
If you use Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x) it works fine, you can create reports and then it shows in SAP Easy Access under favourites. Executes fine, no portal is used.
Now when I want to use the new Web Application Designer I can not execute the reports. Gives me error
"Java communication error: RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist", the window it appears in has a text saying it can't conect to the portal. Then notes that I look at regarding this seems that the connection between SAP BW and Portal must be set up.
So can please someone tell me whether you need the portal to use the new Web Application Designer release 2004s
    Thanks in advance

    YOu neeed BI Java configured
If you do not use any new BEx Web functions, do you have to install the usage types BI Java and EP?
answer -SAP EP 6.0 Portals could be integrated into a federated portal system landscape using URL iViews.
