Two times quality inspection

In our business, there is requirement of two times of quality inspection. For some parts, the testing is done when they are received which is as good as inspection and after testing quality inspection is done.
Can I map this in SAP ? how ?

Hi,
You can do following -
1) In material master assign the relevant inspection type (Quality Managamant view) & in the inspection details, maintain tick at 'Inspection with task list'.
2) Prepare Sampling Procedure with Sampling Scheme & assign the type 'Independent Sampling' in Sampling Procedure. Enter the number of times you want to carry out the inspection.
3) Prepare the Quality Inspection Plan for the component. In the Inspection Plan, select control indicator 'Sampling Procedure Required'. Enter the sampling procedure number in the inspection plan.
4) After you complete the above master data & post GRN, system will create the Inspection lot & will create multiple samples (equal to number you have selected) for the lot. Then you can carry out the inspection for first lot & then quality inspection for second lot & post the results for both lots & take usage decision for the lot.
Hope this helps.

  • Goods reciepts w/o Quality inspection

    Dear Friends,
When we recieve the materials from the vendor, some times Quality inspection documents which are submitted by the vendor will be missing along with the materials recieved. In this case Our Quality team will not do the inspection unless adequate documents submitted by the vendor.
---But due to urgency at production material is issued to shop floor and consumed. But Quantity and value will not be updated in the legacy system.
---When the actual documents are recieved from the vendor then only, Quantity and Value is updated in the legacy system.
---How to map this in SAP.
    Please suggest.

    Hi,
Untill & unless the material received from vendor & kept under QI, the same can not be used for any further use.
For checking of the certificate received, you can use following controls -
During customization, you can set the tick at 'No certificate check at GRN' & 'Enhanced Certificate Processing'. Use the control key in QM view of material master, which necessiates the confirmation of certificate receipt. Then system will not check the certificate during GRN posting & the Quality Assuarance team will check the certificate receipt & enter the same in transaction QC51. Also they can confirm the certificate receipt during inspection lot processing. Till the certificate is received, the inspector can post the inspection results in transaction QE51N. But the usage deceision & stock posting can not be done unless certificate receipt is confirmed.
    Hope this helps.

1.Our client wants that he want to send back to Vendor, In which way we have to do in SAP?
In QM,Raise notification for rejected qty in special stock, this will carry task of return delivery.
    2. Without Quality inspection User shouldn't do the MIRO?
User discipline only it will be solved or
Prepare user exit with help of ABAP'r
while goods receipt(MIGO) for all scenarios(under delivery/over delivery/rejected) in development,
Check MIRO for QC passed qty is allowed for bill booking, give meaningful messages for all scenarios.
    3. Quantity was certified by 13 only, so the user should do the MIRO for 13 only, Kindly suggest iIn which way we have to configure in SAP?
Do return delivery for rejected quantity(2),if there excise, reverse it thru J1IS.
After finishing above steps,Wheu u do IV only Quantity 13 will flow.
Invoice verification will be done only for the accepted quantity.
    Above solution will solve problem.

  • Quality Inspection for the 1st time Receive of Batch

    Hi all.
My requirement is just to do the quality inspection when the Batch(MCHA-CHARG) is received in the first time in MIGO.
No quality inspection is required for next & consequtive goods receive for the same batch.
for the 1st time receive, the stock will go to quality inspection stock for any batch of a material. From the next time , the stock will go directly to unrestricted stock without quality inspection. is it possible? plz advice.
    Thanks
    pabi

    Hi Pabi,
I am not sure if this will help you, but here are the three options that you might want to consider:
    - Source inspection. The idea here is that an IL is created for a purchase order prior to GR. All subsequent receipts for this PO can be configured to skip inspection.
    - Control if insp. lot in material master (insp. set-up). In this case, the system will not create new insp. lot, if there's already one open for the same batch - it will merely add the qty of the new GR to the same open insp. lot.
    - With dynamic modification you can let the following receipts of the same material from the same vendor to go without QI, but you can't fine-tune it by batch.
I know this is not the same what you want, but I can't recall at the moment a function that will satisfy your requirement exactly.

  • Time taken between GRN and Quality inspection

    Hi all,
Once the GRN happens the Qty is moved to the quality inspection and when quality inspection is completed the stock is moved to unrestricted use...so i want the  time from the qty moved to Q insp to the time ir reached the unrestricted....
Is there any standard report to  find the time taken for quality inspection..???
    Regards,
    Joseph.
    Edited by: joseph5885 on Nov 11, 2010 3:01 PM

This is referred as the lead time in QI .This is available in std reports but in SAP std its considered to be the 24 hrs duration.
    Refer thread.

  • Deficit of BA stock in Quality Inspection

    Hi All,
I have a situation that's a bit complicated.  I hope I don't confuse anyone.  I'm trying to do a UD for an item, but I'm getting a Deficit of BA stock in quality inspection.
We purchased 200,000 of an item and a GR was done.  This was done during inventory, the item was physically counted and someone made an error in the count.  At that point an inventory adjustment transaction was done deducting 151,000 from inventory, leaving 49,000.  I believe that somewhere in this mess someone cancelled the material document that was created when the 200,000 was received in the first time, so technically, the 49,000 doesn't really exist in the system.
Later that day, when it was discovered that the physical count was entered incorrectly, the inventory adjustment transaction was also reversed.
As a result of the above we now have two inspection lots hung up in QI, one for 151,000 and one for 49,000, and we can't seem to get rid of them.
When we attempt to do a usage decision we get the following error message:
"49,000 EA incorrect posting to block stock, error msg:
Deficit of BA stock in qual. insp 49,000 ea:"
BTW, none of these quantities (The 49,000 or 151,000) shows up in MMBE.   We've tried posting the stock in QA32, but of course it doesn't exist.  What are we missing?

    Hi Xamaica,
If lot status is ' REL CALC SPRQ' that means  this lot is not canceled, you should be able to post.  If  the lot status would have been  LTCA then selection profile will help you in filtering canceled lots.
    please  give inputs  on following:
We purchased 200,000 of an item and a GR was done.
Have you posted the stock of 2 lacks  to unrestricted and then later  inventory was done ?
This was done during inventory, the item was physically counted and someone made an error in the count. At that point an inventory adjustment transaction was done deducting 151,000 from inventory, leaving 49,000.
Since system allowed you to do inventory  that means stock of  2 lacks was available that time in unrestricted.
I believe that somewhere in this mess someone cancelled the material document that was created when the 200,000 was received in the first time, so technically, the 49,000 doesn't really exist in the system.
If inventory is done and only 49000 stock is remaining, document can't be canceled, may be somebody must  have again  done inventory  and removed that  49000 also.
Later that day, when it was discovered that the physical count was entered incorrectly, the inventory adjustment transaction was also reversed.
As a result of the above we now have two inspection lots hung up in QI, one for 151,000 and one for 49,000, and we can't seem to get rid of them.
I still believe that the status can't be   REL CALC SPRQ, one more thing, you said  you purchases 200,000 then how you get  two  lots of  151000 and 49000?  what insp type  is activated please  confirm?
If stocks  are not available then  you should Block the lot  as  nothing is required from this lot.
If status is 'REL CALC SPRQ'  then go to MIGO and cancel that document strait away.
    Pl check and revert.

  • In process quality inspection in operation of a process order

    Hi,
PP-PI inprocess quality inspection at operation level
I am creating a process order having two operation. the first is quality inspection (inprocess inspection) & last is related to consumption of some materials.
The control key in operations are pi02,pi03(miles stone confirmation). i am using insp type 03 in material master
user needs  insp. happen first then consumption of material.
    my question is
1.when operation first get triggered  quality lot generated i enter RR & do UD.but here i can not see the insp lot stock as subscreen. why? then how can i block defect qty in block stock?
2.how can i consume material in the same quality operation?
    With Regards,
    Kareena

    Hi Kareena,
I think the thread is going in other direction. You were asking for some solution to mentioned the consumption.............
    That can be taken care..........
For 03 - "In process inspection" lot as yield confirmation by activating the STD function of SAP as I have mentioned in my last post.
For 04 - "Inspection against GR form Production" lot, by stock posting.
For any lot you can do customization in "EXIT_SAPLQEEM_011", to post the material consumption at each MIC/Operation valuation.
But now the entire scenario what you are asking is bit confusing.
    You wrote
    I think for process order,
quality activity confirmation we are talking
& for this i have not maintained inspection
    point or inspection point identification.
i am doing RR from qe11.
It seems you we are talking about 03 type inspection lot. that you can relate with the option I have mentioned in the beginning of this reply.
in my inspection plan for the material
i have maintained 5 different characterstics
in that row i can not see the sampling
    procedure,base unit of measure,
base quantity all these field are gray in color
i have defined sampling procedure also
i have not maintained inspection point identification.
Where you have mentioned these 5MICs?
If it is inspection plan, then it will go with 04 Type.
If it is Master Recipe/Routing, then it will go with 03 Type.
Now the other point you wrote the MIC Line item have the fields GREY for Sampling Procedure,&...........&.......So to activate them,
Select the line item for MIC, click on the Control Indicator (Sampling Procedure) and then you will be able to assign the Sampling Procedure to MIC.
The fields "Inspect" & "Inspected" are related with the "Insp. Scope" with the MIC. The scope is define at the Control indicators for the MICs (On Page2 for the Indicators). There are four Radio Buttons to define the Inspection Scope.
    Scope not Fixed
If you set this indicator, the number of inspected units is defined by the user for results recording.
This number does not have to agree with the precalculated number of inspected units.
E.g. If the the sample size for that particular MIC is not fixed ever and you will supposed to enter it at the time of RR you should define this indicator and the field will open for entry in QE11.
    Fixed Scope
If you set this indicator, the number of inspected units must correspond
to the precalculated number of units to be inspected for results
    recording.
The system can perform a valuation for the inspection characteristic based on the number of nonconforming units or the number of defects in the sample.
And the field will be GREY, non - modifiable.
Similarly the larger and smaller scopes work.
    Best Regards,
    Shyamal

  • Quality inspection stock

    Hi experts ,
Whenever a material is procured from a particular vendor then at the time of posting goods receipt that material by default to be posted in Quality inspection stock alone not in Unrestricted use stock,i.e. posting in unrestricted use stock should not be allowed at all . If the vendor going to differ means then it can be posted in Unrestricted us stock .
Kindly help me how to do this.
    - Neo

    Hello Neo,
There are two options in this case,
    1. If using QM module, then as suggested by Srinivas, you need to maintain QM info record for the vendor which are subject to Quality material.
    2. If you are no using QM module then you need to flag mark "Post to Inspection Stock" check box in purchasing view of material master. But in this case, the material will be posted as QI stock for all the vendor, however you can change it during PO and GR.
    Hope this helps.

  • Stock blocking two times

    Dears
Pls see my scenario and advice me how to procees
While RR i found that my material was rejected, so during UD i put the material in block stock and same time i create a automatic notification via defect recording and save the notification and finally UD was given rejected
No i want to send back this material to vendor
SO in QM02 t code i call the notification created before and i want to create a return delivery from notification so i need to put again this material in block stock via action box to make enabled return delviery
Why system make us to block two time for the same matrial
pls give your valuable idia on this...or wether i am following any wrong methde
    Faisal

    Hello Faisal,
It may not be referred as wrong practice. At the same time itu2019s really difficult to predict the exact logical reasoning behind this.
I think, if you notice rejection at incoming stage u201CReturn Deliveryu201D is the field that SAP suggest to utilize and if you notice the same after UD it should be through quality notification. But there is no sound base for this statement. Letu2019s wait for the opinions of experts.
    1.     While carrying out incoming inspection when I notice any non conformity and want to send back the material to vendor, I would  utilize the field u201CReturn Deliveryu201D in QA11 which in turn executes 122 movement in background.
    2.     But when I am not sure that immediately it should be sent back or not, I would follow the path you mentioned. Posting to block stock through QA11. Later through MIGO return delivery can be carried out  with 122 movement by opting stock type as block stock.
    3.     Generally later case is more popular may be because of 2 reasons.
    a.     No direct involvement of QA dept for stock reducing movement.
    b.     Reduces the chances for physical and system stock mismatch. (When you carry out 122 through QA11, system stock reduces immediately; but physically it gets moved out may be after a week or two depending upon logistic arrangement for multiple material codes)

  • How to sync two time capsules?

I have two time capsules on my network and want to set them to automatically sync files between them for redundancy.  How do I do this?

In theory, you could have another application like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper backup Time Capsule 1 to Time Capsule 2, but the same risks apply.. I haven't tried this....and won't....but maybe another user has.
Agree with Bob.. what you can do and what you should do are different. It is possible to use CCC and put the two TC in sync. The result will still be only as good as the quality of the first disk. That is a very slow way to backup.. TC is not designed as a NAS so it has no internal ability to sync files. It is purely designed as a target for Time Machine.
If you do use CCC all packets are copied via the computer.. over the network.. so if you use wireless expect to never finish.. before the next TM backup starts and CCC will still be syncing.. ie you will have created an endless loop. Don't do it.

  • How to scrap specail stock in quality inspection...

    hi guys:
I have a query, Is there any possible way to scrap the sale order stock in quality inspection without transferring it to the unrestricted stock and that also through inventory count(mi01,04,07),
Actually we have damage lighting stock which is received against sale order(automatically transferred to quality inspection), and customers are replaced with new units, then this stock is called back in head office, for this we have a complicated process in use, first this stock is scraped from suppose "a" storage location after transferring it to unrestricted, then loaded back to "a", to make an STR for it from Head Office.
So is there any way to scrap all special stock(complete storage location) against different sale orders at one go. whether the stock is available in unrestricted, quality inspection or blocked stock.
    I hope I am understood.
Please help me to get through this complicated process.

    Thx you guys are fantastic; I appreciate your help;
below given is the post which has helped me, but there is some problem at the end, after the click of this point "11. (Click) in the gray box next to the session name and click . " there was nothing to proceed with, though I have posted the count through mi24 and post the difference with mi07, but still want to know what goes wrong with mi31, I have given the appropriate time for back ground processing....one thing to note there were 2 old inventory documents seen to be pending of the same storage location I was posting the count off, is this the reason of problem in processing of mi31,,,,,,please guide...
Hi Buddy This transaction is used to create physical inventory documents for multiple materials in your plant and storage locations. Inventory documents may be created and printed prior to the count date; however, the posting block should not be set until the day of the actual physical inventory count. 1. From the SAP R/3 System screen, enter transaction code MI31. 2. Click or press Enter. The Selected Data for Phys. Inventory Docmts w/o Special Stock screen displays. 3. Enter or select a value for each of the following required fields: - Plant (enter plant code) - Storage location (do one storage location at a time) - Name of session Remove the checkmark from the Materials marked for deletion field will exclude items previously marked for deletion from the inventory document. The default session name is MB_MI01. Enter your initials and the session number after the default session name to identify it as your own. Example: MB_MI01_WW1 - Max. no. items/doc - use 99 for main storage location; - use 300 for truck storage locations. - Planned count date - enter date of inventory count - Physical inventory number - enter fiscal year followed by plant number and storage location. Example: 2004FY60118071. MI31 Create Physical Inventory Documents (in batch) - Set posting block - check if count is immediate; do not check if creating batch documents ahead of the inventory count date. - Sorting u2013 click on and select Plnt- Stor.bin description-Material. 4. Erase any variants under u201CDisplay optionsu201D. 5. Click . The Batch Input Created for the Creation of Phys. Inv. Docmts screen displays. Enter through any system information messages or errors. 6. Click . The Batch Input: Session Overview screen displays. 7. Click in the gray box next to the session name to highlight row. Click . The Process Session {Session name} dialog box displays. 8. Select the Background radio button. 9. Click . The following message displays: u201CX session(s) transferred to background processingu201D. It takes approximately 5 to 6 minutes for the system to process a batch session. Please wait at least 5 minutes before continuing with Step 10. 10. Click in the gray box next to the session name and click . The Batch Input: Log Overview screen displays. 11. Click in the gray box next to the session name and click . The Batch Input Log for Session {Session name} screen displays. If the batch processing is completed the last line in the Message column should read u201CBatch input processing endedu201D. If this message does not appear on the last line adequate time was not provided for the batch process to be viewed. SAP continues the batch processing in the background. Use transaction MI24 to retrieve a complete list of Physical Inventory Documents created. 11. Record the physical inventory document numbers created. You will need the document numbers to print the inventory documents. Clicking on can print this list. 12. View the log for any errors generated. A material master record being blocked for updates at the time of processing may cause errors. Add the material to a physical inventory document using transaction code MI02. Regrds Yogesh

  • How to move the stock after quality inspection in wm

    hi ,
if i am posting GR with PO  for the material XXXX quantity of 10  it should not be posted in Warehouse. after completion of stock inspection in QM then only it moved to warehouse . But the problem is when i post gr in migo the transfer requirement created automatically...if i make this  TR manual, two posting occurs one for gr posting  and another one for manual tr...how to control this....
    ex: matxxx-10 quantity
migo posted(no stock should be posted in wm)
    after qc--8 quantity o.k
then we need to move this 8 quantity to storage bin.
how to achive this process in WM. (i already working manual TR it will create two posting)
    Thanks
    Muthuraman.D

    Hi,
Use movement type 103 for GR. so, the goods will posted in to blocked stock.  you deselect the auto TR creation for 103 movement type.
once the Quality inspection over the do the 105 to release blocked stock to unresticted stock. in 105 you activate the auto TR creation.
Now you may avoid double tr creation.
this you have to discuss MM consultant also. because of 103 & 105 movement type using.
