Types wrong thing in word

Hello -
Currently I'm trying to write a report for school about Uluru... I tried typing a title in Times New Roman small caps in a table. However, when I tried to type " - Uluru" it came up as "Pluru". It kept doing this each time I typed a dash, then a space and then a capital letter. Then when I typed in all capitals after the dash and a space it came up saying different things such as "PORT HICAL", "VIS HICAL", "PGRAPHICAL" and "VIS GSFGFGS" (this is all holding down one key with caps lock on) and some others i've forgotten there were some more words.
Its really annoying because even if I change it back, it changes to Pluru in about 2 minutes again anyway.
So if anyone has any info it would be much appreciated.
By the way, I am using Microsoft Word 2004 for Mac version 11.3.5
Thankyou
(I just got another random assortment of letters:
"PENDIXAPHYGS"
also: the letters overlap or are spread out sometimes)

Thanks for replying
It's quite weird....
There's nothing in preferences about a spelling-corrector that replaces what I write. or anything to do with all the weird things that come up. Also, when I type a capital letter after the dash and a space and then I just hold down space, it comes up with the same jargon as before but after a few spaces is starts to delete what it's written.
oh and also, when I copy and paste it, it comes up with what I actually typed in. So maybe it's just a graphics thing i don't know.... But when I print, it comes up with the jargon

Hold your finger on the word for a little time - after a second or so, a magnifying view appears showing the few letters around your finger, with a cursor. Roll your finger to move the cursor to just in front of the letter you want to fix. Then let your finger go. You can now backspace to delete and replace the incorrect letter.

Adobe flash CS6 crashes when using the type tool or Editing word all the time... please help!

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details. The standard answer with all text issues simply is, that you have a "bad font" on your system and need to get rid of it.

I've just updated my iPad 3 to IOS 7 and when i try to type any thing be it a password or e-mail there is a long lag any idea how to sort this out ?

Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.
    $19.99 - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

Has anyone tried creating a plugin that you can type in a specific word, and if it comes up in the very top of the page (i think its refered to as the header) it closes the page or tab automatically? there is a program called POW! by AnalogX that does this, but its only good for IE. And Im a Firefox man. Can anyone look into this or maybe create a plugin that does what POW! does for IE? I will donate to the creater of a plugin that does that. Im so sick of pop ups that most pop up blockers miss.

The Firefox pop-up blocker is very effective. If you are getting a lot of pop-ups in Firefox, you may have picked up some Malware that is causing those pop-ups.
Install, update, and run these programs in this order. '''''(Not all programs detect the same Malware.)''''' They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have.<br />
''Note: If your Malware infection is bad enough and you are mis-directed to URL's other than what is posted, you may have to use a different PC to download these programs and use a USB stick to transfer them to the afflicted PC.''

  • [SOLVED] Some keybindings in i3wm doing the wrong thing

I've been using i3wm for about a year now, and up until today it's worked perfectly.
After an update, some of my keybindings are just plain doing the wrong thing. The rest seem to be working perfectly.
mod-i is for "go to the window to the right", it now opens emacs
mod-k used to close a window. It now has no apparent effect
There's no issue with the keys inside of windows. For instance, I've used the 'i' many times in this post, and it works as expected.

    Here is what I tried:
    Restarting X11
    Rebooting
    Reinstalling i3
None of them had any apparent effect.
    Edit:
    Upon further investigation, this is a bug in i3: https://github.com/i3/i3/issues/1302#is … t-77648601
Hopefully the fix is coming soon.

Same issue here, on 2 different laptops. Things were working fine, and suddenly my mod+123456789 keys to switch workspace won't work anymore (and maybe others that I haven't noticed yet).
Since I have a Fr-pc keyboard, actually those are:
    mod+ampersand
    mod+eacute
    mod+quotedbl
    etc...
By chance, mod+cedilla is working and open and switch to Workspace 5 (instead of Worskpace 9 but let's not be picky..) ! thanks god, life was awful with one workspace.
I hope they'll fix this soon.

  • Just asking how to type Arabic letters in word, in more specific how to type letter or pargraph in Arabic language in word

Just asking how to type Arabic letters in word, in more specific how to type letter or pargraph in Arabic language in microsoft winword.
    Thanks

Regarding your screenshot of Word, I cannot duplicate it, I only get the expected disconnected Arabic.  I am sure that nobody will be able to duplicate it unless perhaps they have the font Arial Body CS, which is not part of MS Office for Mac or OS X.  So for your contribution here to be helpful to anyone, you will have to provide a link for downloading that font.

  • I Am Having Trouble With Mozilla Firefox. For Some Reason I Can Not Type Any Thing In

I Am Having Trouble With Mozilla Firefox. For Some Reason I Can Not Type Any Thing In. I Can Not Type Anything Into Yahoo Search Or Any Where I Need A Password. Anytime I Try To Type Anythink In It Locks Up Firefox The Same With Thunderbird Can't Write An Email Thunderbird Locks Up When I Start Typing. My Roboform Will No Longer Fill In The Forms. I Have Uninstalled All Three Programs Three Times. Can You Give Any Help.
    Thank You

    Hi,
Sounds like you have two problems there. One for Firefox and one for Thunderbird.
We can help you with the Firefox question but your other Thunderbird question will have to go into the Thunderbird queue. You can create a new Thunderbird question by going to [/questions/new/thunderbird]
Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:
*'''Windows/Mac''': Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
*'''Linux''': Run ''firefox -safe-mode'' in the Terminal/Konsole
If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.

  • What does the PopUp "Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs" really mean and if I check the Box, how do I undo this if this was the Wrong Thing To Do?

What does the PopUp "Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs" really mean and if I check the Box, how do I undo this if this was the Wrong Thing To Do?
    Details
Constantly, while using Firefox (Beta v 11.0), and/or ESPECIALLY, when I have my eMail @ Mail.com open, I get this PopUp stating: "For security reasons, restarting mail.com Mail is possible only via the mail.com Mail Service. Please close this window and restart mail.com Mail" BUT Then there is a CHECKBOX: "Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs."
I have no idea if Checking this Box is a Good Idea or if it will Screw-Up my mail.com Mail Service...
Anyone have an answer or explanation of the Use of this Little Check-Box?

You do not get any pop-up windows on that website if you tick that box.
That setting is stored in the cache and you should see pop-ups again if you reload the page and bypass the cache.
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
