UCCX 7.01 Enhanced to Premium

Hi,
Can someone confirm what is required to upgrade UCCX 7.01 from Enhanced License to Premium? I have the Premium license but am unsure whether this process requires a reboot or reinstalling CAD on Agent PCs.
Thanks
Rich.

Hello Rich,
The major changes between Premium and Enhanced is mostly on the server and not on CAD like IVR Ports feature becoming Advanced from Basic so we can use them for outbound dialling.
The feature's that i see change in Premium for CAD is the outbound buttons for outbound call control and email buttons for managing email in premium, which may get added in when you move to premium. If you see the 7.X SRND you will know what i am talking about. If you are planning to use outbound dailling or agent email capability. CAD may need to get upgraded. I have to still test this in lab. I have requested licenses for advanced 7.x, presently i have only premium ipcc 7.x lab. When i get adv. license and test this in lab i will update you. You are also welcome to open a SR for this.
If you are going to Premium soon for email and outbound capability and don't have time to wait for my response you can ask the domain admin to login as local admin on all the agent pc's immediately after upgrade so CAD or CSD should update automatically on agent and supervisor login.

  • CRA 3.0 Enhanced or Premium?

Customer has CRA 3.0. License Update Utility shows Enhanced licensing, but at the same time they have several working scripts that do SQL dips, which should have been allowed only with Premium licensing. Does anyone have any insight into this ? Is it possible that CRA 3.0 wasn't doing strict licensing check and allowed for this. Does this mean that upgrading to UCCX 8 will present an issue with SQL dips if they don't upgrade to Premium licensing? Is it possible that License Update Utility is not accurately displaying licensing?

Thanks Jonathan, I actually found the original 2002 quote for this project, and it appears that they only had enhanced licenses, see below. Local Cisco SE believes that 3.0 didn't have strict checking of what you could and could not do in the Script Editor. This means they'll need to upgrade to premium licensing if they want to upgrade to 8.

  • Automated message about enhanced or premium texts

I have the Family Share 1400 plan with unlimited texting.  I have blocked, through MyVerizon any type of messaging, web access or anything which would incur a charge.  This includes premium messaging, sms (whatever that is), enhanced messaging and the like.  I routinely text both of my daughters.  One of them is a verizon customer and one is not.  Lately, at random times, and certainly not every time, I receive what I suppose is an automated text message from Verizon which says (I just deleted my inbox this morning, so I will try to paraphrase, since I do not remember it verbatim) that text messages such as (the one I just sent) cannot be received by the number I sent it to.  This happens almost immediately after sending and although it seems to take a little longer for a response, it does get received.  This morning it happened when my daughter (verizon) and I were having a conversation via text.  Plain text messages, no pictures or anything else.  We had already exchanged 8 or 10 messages, when suddenly I received a reply very quickly after pushing send.  She is fast, but not that fast and sure enough it was that message again.  Then maybe 5 or 10 minutes later, I received the expected normal response from her.  I do not know what, if anything, she sees on her end of the conversation that is out of the ordinary.
Any ideas what this might mean?

The link payroll provided will very likely do the trick.

  • UCCX standard and Enhanced agents

Is it possible to have some agents be standard licensed and other agents enhanced? If i upload an enhanced license for two agents will it cause the other standard agents to stop working? Will that license file be lost and overwritten?

    Hi Evan
No - you can't mix licenses on the same server. I think you'll just end up with the count of Enh agents, and the std ones will become inactive.
If you need a mix, you need them on separate CCX clusters (i.e. one standard cluster, one enhanced) but that will have lots of other implications.

  • Silent Monitoring - UCCX 8.5 (Enhanced)

    Hey All,
Is it possible to use Silent Monitoring without SPAN and/or without Quality Manager? I have found that Cisco's documentation on this topic to be very out of date or quite confusing.
If you refer to the reference below it states that it can be done without using SPAN but doesn't mention how this is achieved:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/uc_system/UC7.0.1/features_apps/CMmonrec.html
Can anyone provide me with an comprehensive answer or point me to where I can find this?
    Kind Regards,

    Hello,
I try to create a script that could place call and play a prompt (wav files).
The step place call works but the play prompt do not play something.  Do I need something special to do to make my play prompt works.
My wav files is in the good format.

    Hello,
I finally found the problem.  In fact, this is my error.  In my place call Step, I did not configure a valid dialog group.

  • How to change the Number of IVR ports in a UCCX?

I know this question has been asked before but it needs to be asked again, as previous answers do not seem to apply.   The simple quesiton is:  If you have a UCCX and if after install you check you check License information and you note that you have 150 IVR ports; how do you increase the number of ports to 300?
I have been told that the number of ports is set by the class of the machine hardware and is not a license issue.   Others have suggested it is a license issue?   At the end of the day, however, I want a step by step procedure for adding more IVR ports to my deployment.   Even if that means buying more licenses (though I can not find a SKU).
I have several clients that have UCCX and are having calls that exceed the number of IVR ports.   Before we get into a discussion of CTI ports or Call Controll Groups, let me identify that I think they are the same.    I can create a CTI Call Control Group with 300 paths, but if I only have 150 IVR ports I am in serious trouble on the 151 call!
I had a lab system that installed under vmware with 150 ports.  No matter how I tried to configure the CVA it always came up 150 ports!   I added a NFR license to my lab and magically it turned it into a 12 IVR system, so licensing does have something to do with it!
I have htis experience on Version 8 and now on Version 9!   I need more IVR ports than appear in the installation.  I want to know exactly the steps needed to increase the number of IVR ports to the maxium of 300 for an enhanced system!
I can refer CISOC TAC to several tickets I have opened on this subject all with unsatisactory answers!  Most recently 626743961

    Here's the long answer

Since I see below that you mentioned that the system in question is Enhanced, the answer is simply, install on faster hardware.  Presently the best hardware you can get is VMWare ESXi with the 400 Agent License OVA, which gives you 400 IVR Port Licenses.
Standard licensing works the same as Enhanced, as far as IVR Port licenses go.
If you were wondering about Premium, then it's a 1:2 ratio of agent:ports.  You cannot buy Premium ports directly, instead you buy them indirectly through the process of buying Premium Agent seats.  So if you had a Premium UCCX with 100 Agents, you would have 200 ports, and if you desired to have 250 ports, you simply buy 25 more Premium Agent seats.  Premium does still need to adhere to the hardware limits.  I have seen partners sell someone an Enhanced UCCX which gave them 300 ports, but they only had like 50 Agents.  A year later, the customer upgraded to Premuim, but only bought 50 seats, and thus downgraded their port license count to 100.  A third of what they had!  The solution?  Buy 100 more Premium Agent seats so your total goes up to 150 Agents, and thus your ports go up to 300.
Peter Buswell wrote:I have been told that the number of ports is set by the class of the machine hardware and is not a license issue.   Others have suggested it is a license issue?
These are both correct statements.  Just remember, that it's licensed based first for Premium, then hardware limited.  Standard and Enhanced are hardware limited only.
Peter Buswell wrote:At the end of the day, however, I want a step by step procedure for adding more IVR ports to my deployment.   Even if that means buying more licenses (though I can not find a SKU).
Again, for Standard and Enhanced, you need to move to bigger/better hardware to get more ports, assuming you're not already at the meximum of 400.
Here is the document which walks you through moving to bigger hardware: Disaster Recovery Guide
And for Premium, you need to purchase the SKU for a Premium Agent Seat license.  It's a 1:2 ratio for agents:ports.
Peter Buswell wrote:I have several clients that have UCCX and are having calls that exceed the number of IVR ports.
I'm not a partner, nor in sales, but I thought there was an A2Q process which validates CC designs for sales people.  At any rate, it sounds like they were either under sized or outgrew their overhead, and something needs to be done.
Sometimes you can simply dump excess calls off.  Think about playing a high call volume message to callers and then drop them.
Other times you can drop them into voicemail, and come back to it later.
I've seen some basic call back functionality implemented with an external data source, which could alleviate ports.
Lastly, I've seen improperly designed scripts which loop on themselves or other scripts, causing a high port usage.
My point is that there's a few options here, outside of simply increasing the size of the server or purchasing new licenses.  There's no one size fits all answer though.
Peter Buswell wrote:Before we get into a discussion of CTI ports or Call Controll Groups, let me identify that I think they are the same.
Are you saying that CTI Ports and Call Control Groups are the same?  Or that CTI Ports/CCG's are the same as IVR Port Licenses?  Cause the former is true, while the latter is not.  Think "oversubscribed" CTI Ports.
Sometimes it is advantageous to oversubscribe your CTI Ports, to achieve a more dynamic environment.  E.g., I have 100 ports, and all 100 are used for inbound calls.  I develope a single inbound app, which is limited to 10 ports, and handles small bursts of calls.  What happens is that, if the new inbound app is running, the most it can "steal" from the inbound calls is 10 ports.  However, if the app is not running (because it doesn't run all day, it's mostly bursty in nature), I can still have my regular inbound calls go all the way up to 100.
Peter Buswell wrote:I can create a CTI Call Control Group with 300 paths, but if I only have 150 IVR ports I am in serious trouble on the 151 call!
This is true.  Again, you need to decide if you really need the extra ports, of if there is some solution to solving this problem without making a hardware/license purchase.  These kinds of problems still exist for customers at the 400 port level, and they don't have the option to "buy more."
Well, that's not entirely true.  While you cannot grow past the 400 port limit today, you could install another UCCX instance on the same CUCM cluster, effectively doubling your capacity, but breaking your administration into two separate domains.
Peter Buswell wrote:I had a lab system that installed under vmware with 150 ports.  No matter how I tried to configure the CVA it always came up 150 ports!
    What's CVA?
Peter Buswell wrote:I added a NFR license to my lab and magically it turned it into a 12 IVR system, so licensing does have something to do with it!
The NFR is most likely a Premium license.  Refer back to the 1:2 ratio, and that would tell me you have an NFR license for 6 Premium Agents.  Installing a higher level license on a lower level licensed system brings the whole system up to the higher level.  Recall my partner story about the Enhanced to Premium upgrade scenario.
Peter Buswell wrote:I have htis experience on Version 8 and now on Version 9!
The licensing doesn't change from 8x to 9x.
Peter Buswell wrote:I need more IVR ports than appear in the installation.  I want to know exactly the steps needed to increase the number of IVR ports to the maxium of 300 for an enhanced system!
You buy bigger/better hardware, and use the link I provided above for moving to that new hardware.

I would be surprised if there is a single Cisco TAC person who doesn't understand this simply IVR Port licensing model.  Perhaps there was some miscommunication about what was being asked, and what answer was being given.
I hope that helped to clarify some things for you.  Also, if you are a partner, reach out to your CAM and ask for a one on one with a UCCX guru who can sit down with you.  Cisco would want you to be successful with selling their products.

  • UCCX 9.0 - CUIC

Cisco introduced CUIC Standard as the new historical reporting package for CCX.
CCX has 3 licensing  levels; standard, enhanced and premium.
We have CCX Premium however the version of CUIC on all CCX platforms is the standard version.
CUIC Premium that includes the Report Definition Designer is an additional $25,000 per server.
I assumed that when reading about premium and CUIC that CUIC was an integral part of uccx, since there were no separate versions of "Historical Reports"
I do not believe this information was properly presented.
Just an FYI for anyone who reads this........
Currently having repeated issues with CUIC simply functioning properly,

    Hi
CUIC is the 'Standard' version in UCCX, and yes, it doesn't allow full customisation. I'm sure/hoping it will improve in 10.
THe customisation process will be the same no doubt - you need to buy the Lab (customer) or NFR (partner) version of CUIC Premium ($100 or so, I believe) in order to do customisation/creation of reports.

  • How to add a "global" counter in uccx?

    Hi
my customer has UCCX 8.5 Enhanced and he cannot afford an upgrade to Premium.
They need to know how many times an option has been pressed by the users along the time. That option has only a "play prompt" step.
I thought about using an XML file and, every time that option was pressed, I would increment the variable inside it.
The problem is that, inside the script, I cannot increment the string extracted from the xml file. That is only valid for integers.
Does anyone have an idea about how to get it?
    Thank you
    Marcos

You would run into issues using an xml document within uccx is having multiple updates as you have overlapping contacts.
From what I have seen while testing at run time the xml document is loaded into memory for that script.  Let's say the value is 1. If the script is executed again before the other one has completed it will also read the value as 1.  The first script has completed and updates the document to a value of 3.  The second script is not aware that the value was updated to 3 and will rewrite the value based on the starting point of 1 which will result in the data being lost.
What you might be able to do is use the Create URL Document step to Post data to another server and have it do all of the calculations on the back end.

    Dear Networkers,
    We have UCCX 7.0 installed.
When openeing the CAD Desktop Workfow Admin > select the default workflow> CAD Agent > User Interface
We can't find the "Browser Setup" tab so that we can enable the integrated browser !
For CAD-BE we could find the tab, but for CAD Agent we could not !
    It's really strange !
    Can you please advise ?
    thanks in advance.

    Hi ,
Could you attach the screenshot of the same? What license you have for UCCX?
Integrated multitabbed browser comes only with UCCX Premium licensing package.
Please refer the "Table 1.Feature Content for Cisco Agent Desktop Software Packages" in the below link.

  • Web callback with UCCX

What is needed to offer web callbacks with UCCX? Premium Edition? Outbound?....
    Thanks

What you are looking for is an inbound contact workflow, and not an outbound one.  The outbound subsystem/campaigns are too limited to dynamically build outbound contact lists, and dynamically run on demand.
Technically, there are only two ways to trigger a script externally from an inbound perspective:
A phone call to the JTAPI trigger (CTI Route Point)
An HTTP GET or POST to the HTTP trigger (A URL)
With that said, only the HTTP trigger requires premium, the phonecall option works on all licensing models.
And with that said, placing a phone call into UCCX from anything other than a phone is very challenging.  Your talking CTI toolkit programming stuff right there.  I wouldn't touch it if I didn't have to. It could be costly.  For illustrative purposes, let's just say it would cost X.
The HTTP triggered application is easier to deploy, but requires premium.  And if you upgrade your licensing to premium, you pay for the ports (2 ports for every 1 agent you buy).  As an example, say you have 50 Agents today, and you're using 300 ports on your server.  Recall that you don't pay for standard or enhanced ports.  You would need to purchase 50 enhance to premium upgrade licenses and 100 full premium licenses in order to keep your port count the same.  That could be cost Y.  But don't forget that you woulnd't just count the HTTP trigger benefit in the cost, you also get the email subsystem, databse subsystem, custom java capabilities (if from STD to PRE), etc.
If cost X is less than cost Y, then you might take the challenge of placing a JTAPI phone call to your trigger programmatically from the web server.
If cost Y is less then cost X, then you might upgrade to premium and go the HTTP trigger route.
If cost is not an issue, then I would suggest the premium upgrade route.  It's easier, and you enhance your system more than just the HTTP trigger thing.
I really do hope that helps you understand your options.  How you would go about building all of this is a different subject.  I would first start with understanding HTTP triggers, then managing Contacts within a script, and finally the ACD subsystem.  With just those three things you could implement what you are looking for.  I should also mention that you do not need the UCCX platform to handle the UI on the web page.  Instead, have your web developers perform something called an AJAX call to your http trigger, where you simply return a pass or fail, so they can tell the user if it worked or not.
    Good luck and happy researching.

  • UCCX 8.01

    when integrating uccx with cucm,
under uccx administration page under unified CM configuration, the option RMCM subsystem is not available.and also the cti ports are not  registed in cucm.
whatcould be the cause for these issues?
    thanks
    kavi

    Hi Kavithas,
UCCX has two License from the top of the Umbrella.
    1. UCCX
    2. IPIVR (no More IP QM, IPIVR is used instead of IP QM)
UCCX come with Agents with it where as IVR comes without Agents but only with IVR capabilities.
UCCX again has 3 sub types, Standard , Enhanced and Premium (in all these types you will see the RmCm subsystem)
It really depends on your requirement on what type of license to choose from.
In all of the above cases you will need to create a CCG (Call Control Groups) with range of CTI ports to hold tha call to play some prompts...etc.
Please try data resync operation from UCCX and CTI Manager service restart from CUCM and see if these CTI ports gets registered or not.
    Hope this helps.

  • UCCX HA license

I have a single UCCX 10.0  server deployment, I am going to upgrade to high availability, I need to know if the HA deployment needs two HA licenses (CCX-10-PHA-LIC, Qty=2)  or just one?
    Thanks in advance.

    hope this will clear.
Deployment of HA for inbound voice requires one software license for the HA active server and one for the standby server software. HA is not available for Unified CCX Standard. HA is optional for Unified CCX Enhanced or Premium.

  • UCCX 7.0 Enterprise License - Email Capabilities

    Hello all,
I am trying to find out what email capabilities UCCX7 with an enterprise license has?
From appadmin, in my subsystems menu I only have Cisco Unified CM Telephony, RmCm and Cisco Media listed.
What I am trying to achieve is for a caller into the system to record a message and for this message to be emailed to the agents. Would this be possible with my configuration?
    Thanks,

There is no such thing as an "Enterprise license" for CCX. The product is licensed under Standard, Enhanced, or Premium. There is no email functionality in either Standard or Enhanced. With a Premium (or IP IVR) license, you have access to the email MIVR subsystem which allows you to send SMTP mail from a script.
Starting in CCX 7.0 the Premium license also allows you access to Agent Email. This allows you to queue emails similar to voice calls within CAD.

Server is UCCX 8.5.1 SU3, premium/HA license running on VMWare

You can check the below link for the specific error you are encountering,
