UCCX abandoned calls when agents are ready

We are running CME 7.1.3.32900-4 and UCCX Premium 7.0(1)SR04_Build 443.  We are having a problem with agents going into reserved state for a call but the call never gets delivered to the agent's phone.  Since the call goes unanswered, it is marked "abandoned" and gets dropped even though several agents are ready to accept calls.  I did a reboot on the UCCX primary and secondary servers and I also reset the voice gateways.  Does anyone have any idea what causes this behavior and how to correct it?

Hello,
I had it before with UCCX 7.0 and it was a BUG.
check these two bugs in 7.0
CSCtc32123
UCCX 7.x Select Resource Step reaches 1000 step max and fails
CSCsz93333
Modifying CSQ variable in the Select Resource Step after queuing a
call
Those two caused a group of agents to go to reserve state for like 60 agents causing the calls to DROP.
these problems resolved in SR4 with ES02 , as i understand you already have the SR4 , so i suggest to opne a TAC so that they can give you the ES .
BTW , this is happened to me before like 1 and half years , i didn't check if there is a later version of SR for the UCCX 7.0 , if there is check the cavateas on the next SR maybe they solved the problem without the need for the ES.
Hope this helps.

An upper-up wants the message clients see when updates are ready for installation changed. They want the "Software changes must be applied to your computer after [date]" changed to something else. Is this possible? (See the image below)

No, there is no supported way to modify this dialog box.  If you submit feedback on Connect and post a link here, I'd definitely vote it up.

  • UCCx 8 Callback when agent is in Ready State

    To all,
I am stuck.  Here is the basic logic for my callback caller script when agent is in Ready state.  After the Get Digit String step, what should I do to terminate the call and keep the script running?
    Select Resource (--Triggering Contct--from CSQ)
              Connected
              Queued
                   Menu
CallbackNumber = Get Digit String (--Triggering Contact--)
                                  succesful
                                       If(stat_ReadyResources_OF_CSQ > 0) then
                                                True
outcallToCaller = Place Call (to callbackNumber)
                                                          successful
Call Redirect (--Triggering Contact--to Overflow Q)
    * OverflowQ is another script.
    Thanks,
    Nelson

Set the contact as still being active, even though no one is there.  You will not be able to play any prompts or anything to that contact though, that will result in errors, unless you catch the error.  You can of course redirect playback to the contact that you call.
ErrorReason = Get Trigger Info (Aborting Reason)
    On Exception (ContactInactiveException) Goto Begin
    Delay 2 sec
    Accept(--Triggering Contact--)
Delay 4 sec     <---Hang up before these 4 seconds are done.
    Begin:
    Clear Exception (ContactInactiveException)
    Set Contact Info (--Triggering Contact--)
Language: strLanguage  (I have a Language varible named this with the value L[en_US] )
         Handled:
Session: strSession (I have a Session varible named this with the value null )
I edited this to add the delay and accept steps, so you would know the proper order for them to be in.  I have a script that calls customers and asks if it is ok to fax them documents to that line in the next 5 minutes.  So they know to let the call go to their fax.

  • UCCX - abandoned calls marked as handled contactinactiveexception

    Hi
I have a UCCX 8.5 script - at the start of the script it uses the IF contactinactiveexception exception occurs go to - which then goes to a label which clears the exception and then marks the call as handled
What I have noticed is that this step is causing calls that should be marked as abandoned as handled
For example if I place a test call with all agents not ready and the call queues and I hang up - in the historical reports this call shows as handled
If I delete the contactinactiveexception stop and then repeat the test - the call is properly marked as abandoned.
Can anyone advise how they are using CIE step or where it should be positioned in the script to stop this problem.
    Thanks

    Hello-
I would reset the exception right before your Select Resource step to goto the end of your script.  You will need to change how the end of your script is working too.
Take a look at the screenshot. I hope this helps.

  • UCCX - Abandoned calls

I realised an anomaly which occurred in the system whereby we still have abandoned calls even when the phone is not ringing.
Most of them are coming from general line e.g 1234. Could it be because it takes too long for the call from general line 1234 to be routed to CISCO?
This issue has been a daily nuisance for us. Customer complaint is also on the rise.
Any idea what to look into? im clueless to troubleshoot
    Thanks
    Marzuki

    Hi Tanner Ezell,
I'm not sure what u meant by queue abandon or application abandon. is this as what i understand as below?
"Application abandon" means The callers who have dialed the Contact Center number, the IVR responded with a welcome message and eventually some pre-recorded prompts. Customers who choose to close the line at this level (they did not speak to an agent) are considered as abandoned in IVR.
As for "queue abandon", those are the callers who have heard the welcome message, and then heard pre-recorded messages, navigated in the IVR menu and selected the option to speak to an agent. The call is now transferred to the Queue. If all the agents are busy, then the caller will hear the Hold Music. If there's an available agent, the customer will speak to the agent. Customer who close the line while listening to the Hold Music are considered as abandoned in queue (or "router queue" in UCCE terminology).

  • UCCX Abandoned Calls Details

    Hello All,
We have a small Call Center Express , with just one Queue .. the version is 10.5.1-11001_49
The main request for the customer was as follows :
For the CSQ get below :
    Calls Presented
    Calls Handled
    Calls Abandoned
    IVR Abandoned
    Agent Abandoned
Inside the CUIC for the CCX , we can get the Calls Presented , and Total of Calls Abandoned .. we can’t get which calls are Abandoned inside IVR ( i.e : before reaching any Agent .. just the customer was waiting in Queue , then he choose to drop the call ) ..
also for Agents , i.e: Calls were abandoned after getting presented to Agents ( there is no Auto Answer ) , and the RNA time is 12 seconds
Reports where used for getting the calls are :
Contact Service Queue Activity Report ( where it shows Total Presented , Total Abandoned )
Abandoned Call Detail Activity Report ( where it shows Abandoned calls with respect to Agents )
So , now with example from the customer DB :
CSQ Activity Report give below details :Total  Presented : 5778
    Handled : 5409
    Abandoned : 369
We tried get more details for the Abandoned calls from the Abandoned Call Detail Activity Report, and  we got only 66 calls Abandoned inside that report …
Does that mean the rest of Abandoned calls are Abandoned in IVR ? , 369 – 66 = 303 Calls
Does anyone know the correct way of getting those Abandoned IVR calls ?
    Thanks a lot ,
    Ahmed Salah

    Hello Aaron,
    Thanks for the reply ...
i have done some testing on LAB , to figure out the analogy .. and below is the output :
To explain , the Abandoned calls can be summarized to below :
Abandoned Application : The Caller called the System Number , then heard the Welcome message .. and Closed the Call , he was NOT offered to be Queued Yet ..
Abandoned Queue : The Caller called the System Number, heard the Welcome message , and he selected proper choices to reach agent , but all were busy , so he waited in Queue .. then Closed the Call … he was NOT offered to an Agent Yet
Abandoned Agent : The Caller called the System Number, heard the Welcome message , and he selected proper choices to reach agent , and Agent XXXX was reserved , and during the Ring Time , the Caller closed the call .. he was NOT talking with the Agent .
Now to get the 3 types using One report , I would suggest :  Detailed Call CSQ Agent Report .. , and to use it as below :
Before running the Report , filter it with only one Filter inside CUIC : Called Number (@param4) , and choose the Trigger Number for the Application, then Run the Report
Now you can extract the report , and work only on the Call Disposition value of “1” , which is “Abandoned”
You should see output like below :
Note : I simulated some calls on the Lab , with same version of UCCX as installed on your premises  “10.5.1.11001-49” , and Agent is called : Agent 1
The calls with Values in Application Name only >> Abandoned Application , Yellow
The calls with Values in Application Name , and CSQ Names >> Abandoned Queue , Purple
The calls with Value in Application Name , CSQ Names , and Agent Name >> Abandoned Agent , Red
Now if I run the report with “Contact Service Queue Activity” , I should expect calls to be matched with above data ,
And to be specific , the data should match the case where values in Application Name , CSQ Names , AT LEAST , so it will match both “Purple , Red “ ,.. which are 9 calls
I hope this could help others .. :)
    Thanks a lot ,
    Ahmed Salah

  • UCCX redirect call when the connect to the agent fail

Hi all, I want to redirect a call to another number when the first agent (and the only one in my case) don't answer after N seconds.
I put the redirect on a failed case under "connect to resource" but seems the script skip this failed step because the call is queue again.
Anyone have a works example that use a failed operation when an agent don't answer?
    Thanks

If you are looking to queue the call to one specific agent, under "Select Resource" instead of using a Routing Type of "Contact Service Queue", instead use "Resource".  You can the specify the resource you want the call to go to.  Set the timer to X number of seconds and if the call fails, then use the redirect step.
The way you have it now, you have the Call Redirect step under the "Selected" portion of the "Select Resource" step.  It should go under the "Queued" leg.  By leaving it the way you have it now, the call will only redirect if the call fails during the "Connect" step.  It doesn't mean it will redirect if the agent is not available (that would be the "Queued" leg).

  • UCCX script check "which agents not ready" and turn on MWI

    Hi!
Is there a way to check which agents that are "not ready" i.e  gather user-id and extension?
Then i want to use this "extension information" to light up the MWI on the "not ready" agents Cisco phones maybe by using unity and ctiports
    to turn on the MWI.
OR do i need DB access to the UCCX to gather realtime of the agents name + extension + status?
    Somebody tried something similar before?
    Thx Mikael

Its new but I like it!
I would database dip back into the UCCX database (find the scheme guides online in the reporting guide) check status and gather all agent ID's / extensions they are logged into.
Then do a for loop and a place call to the MWI number with the correct CSS on the CTI ports to do so... the interesting part is going to be turning them off!
I would say you could make a UCCX thats runs more like a service with an trigger point and a service based TCL script on a router to hit that number every so often to launch it like a service.
Or if your any good at coding you could write a small service and use something like OSIP(C Library) to trigger the MWI points over a custom built SIP trunk into CUCM with the service.  Tons of ways to skin a cat depending on your time and knowledge level.

It says the bug is fixed in 8.5 SU3 but my customer just upgraded to SU3 and still getting these alerts. It happens only during the backup and everything comes up working fine next morning.
    Anyone?
    thanks,
    Kapil

This issue is caused by Cisco bug CSCtn93085 which is affecting the version you are on, though it is only cosmetic.  Here are the details of the bug:
UCCX: sev 2 alarms generated in SysLog during normal backups
    Symptom:
During a backup of UCCX, the LDAP Monitor Service is temporarily stopped. This is normal behavior,
but a severity 2 alarm is being generated in the SysLog. The alarm makes it appear that the service
    stopped unexpectedly or crashed.
    Conditions:
    Workaround:
Ignore alarms regarding the LDAP Monitor Service that appear during the timeframe of a UCCX backup.

  • Queue music is not releasing calls when agent is available

Dear experts, need your urgent suggestion here –
I have configured a Network VRU script on UCCE for queue music but problem is even if agent is available queue music keeps on playing to callers and call does not connect to caller. Please advise if something is wrong with below configuration.

Thank you for your response. We did multiple testing on this application and RUN External Script is not interruptible for some options on IVR but same RUN EXTERNAL SCRIPT configuration is working and it’s interruptible for some options. We checked all variables being set in application to validate if it’s any variable for some options making media file non-interruptible but couldn’t find anything.
Finally, we created a new skill group and routed non-interruptible calls to these new skill groups and everything was fine after this. It is clear that skill group configuration is not allowing RUN EXTERNAL SCRIPT to be non-interruptible. This is really a very strange issue because skill group configuration is absolutely fine. I also checked route of skill group and it's similar to other working skill group.
Can you pleese suggest what configuration may be casusing skill groups problem ?

  • How Can I make redirect caller from agent to any branch IVR?

I have IPCC Enterprise Edition (ICM 5.0, IVR 3.1)
How can I make redirect caller from agent to chosen branch IVR, and send with call any variable to IVR (e.g. account number).
    Regards
    Krzysztof

I would suggest that post-routing should not be used. The way to go is to use translation routing applications. Although post-routing is easy to set up, almost all deployments require translation routing. I can't think of anything good to say about post routing, other than it's trivial to configure.
You want the main route point to be on the CM_PIM.RC for a number of reasons. You can check to see which of your IVRs are on line, and/or to do load balancing. If calls don't need to go to the IVR if agents are ready, you can have an LAA Select node immediately, and then translation route. Even if you just have one IVR, translation routing will enable you to do RONA more easily.
You need to bite the bullet and learn translation routing. If you do it that way, peripheral variables attached to the call remain unaffected whether the call is under the control of the CM_PIM.RC or the IVR_PIM.RC. This is exactly what you want.
There is no need, in my opinion, to go to an external database. In your IVR, decisions made by the caller (e.g. which "skill" they want) set peripheral variables. When the call comes out of this script you check the peripheral variable, and depending on the value do a queue to the appropriate skill group and run external script (BasicQ.aef).
Separate the intelligence gathering IVR script from the Queuing script. Allow ICM to make the routing decisions.

  • Howe can I tell when there are no references to an object?

    Hi all,
Is there any way for me to know when there are no references to an object without using finalize()?
I want to pool created objects when it is safe to do so.
finalize() won't work since it is called only once for every object instance.
    Regards,
    Marcus

If you are trying to establish an object pool by placing the objects back in the pool when there are no references to the object, then I am afraid you are out of luck.
If there were no references, then you would not have a "handle" on the object to be able to manipulate it in any way (like putting it back in the pool).
If you are talking about something else, then the classes in java.lang.ref.*, might be of use.
If you are really trying to pool objects, then you should have some sort of "close" method in the objects that is called when they are no longer needed and can be returned to the pool.

  • Video Calling when logged in at multiple locations

Hi Everyone.  Thank you in advance for your help.  I have a question regarding video calling when you are logged in at multiple locations.  If I am logged into Skype at home and at work, and I participate in a video call at work, does the video call display at both locations, or just the location where I accepted it?  Is there any indication at the other location that I am participating in a video call?  Thanks!

Is one version iChat 2.x ?
If so then the answer is No.
If both are iChat 3 try changing the setting when the other computer is Off. This maybe difficult but maybe the weekend would be the time to log out of the Work one first and then on Monday turn the Home one Off.

  • UCCX- adjust abandoned call time or delay

    Hello all....
I'm very new and green to UCCX- version 8.5.1 . I have a colleague here looking to adjust the time or delay for when an incoming call to our queue is deemed abandoned. Apparently our wallboard is showing an abandoned call very quickly wo giving an agent time to answer the call. Is there a parameter that can be adjusted for this purpose? I googled a bit, but no significant help.
    Thanks in advance ....Dennis

    Hi Dennis
    There's no parameter in UCCX.
The typical approaches to this are:
    - For historical reporting, discount calls that abandon within x seconds as listed on the CSQ Call Distribution report. Alternatively, create a custom report that does this automatically.
    - For a wallboard, you would need to have a wallboard that could be customised similarly. CCX puts the stats (including abandon count) per CSQ in the 'realtime' CSQ table designed to be used by wallboards. You would need to bypass this and use a custom query against the historical tables to get such a calculation.
