UCM Typeahead Component and batch check-in without WebDAV

I need your help answering these questions:
I have a request from a client regarding an upcoming implementation of UCM.
1. There is a requirement for a TypeAhead component, so that the user just starts typing something and results are shown below matching his/her query as he/she types. (Suggestive Search). I have located a relevant posting on Oracle Forums Re: Predictive search in UCM but I don't have time to write a component, nor I have access to Olympus/Stellent.
2. Another requirement is batch check-in of scanned images into a single check-in (like scanning a book and checking it in as one entry), without the use of WebDAV for this. It is vital that entries can both be batch checked in and also to appear as one entity. Is anyone aware of a component that's able to do that?

This feature is going to be there in UCM 11g which should be put in some more time.
2. Another requirement is batch check-in of scanned images into a single check-in (like scanning a book and checking it in as one entry), without the use of WebDAV for this. It is vital that entries can both be batch checked in and also to appear as one entity. Is anyone aware of a component that's able to do that?
This one can be achieved by using Oracle Document Capture.

Possible problems with Check out and Open Component and delayed publishing

I've experienced some seemingly wrong behaviors of the checkout and open component and also with the delayed publishing feature, I've listed it down :
1) The all important one:
We know we've delayed publishing features for content, if we set the Release Date metadata at a future date, the content will not be released immediately, but do we have a delayed publishing features for a website page. Through manage website the user can add / delete a page(section), may do include or exclude from navigation etc.. but can they set a future date when a particular page can be included in or excluded from navigation? This should be a standard feature for a WCM solution and I hope there is some solution for sure.
2) Can we set a datefield with a calendar feature as a page custom (section) property?
3) Again the issue with checkout and open component, only the user with admin privilege seems to be able to change the content, normal contributors cannot, cause every time is tries to check in with the old author name, so the user has to have admin privilege to assign a different doc author's name. No trace also who is making the changes.
4) Also facing a lot of problems while trying to implement when we use this checkout and open component. As we cannot check who is making the change there is to way to set us a step for self review, also user can only approve or reject but cannot edit the doc before passing it to the next step, if the step user is created using tokens then only checking out of the doc takes it pass the step user, but everything is working perfect with contributor data file. No problem whatsoever. Even if we use manual check out and then check in (i mean without using checkout and open component) this is working fine. But the main problem with non-technical users will be they would not like the content server portal at all and they would always prefer ms word over anything else. They would directly like to double-click on the website page, the word doc will pop up and they would make change and save.
Issue 1 and 4 are killer issues for us, I need your help to find a solution. I have few more issues that i will post later.

I was a bit low on bandwidth, so could not visit the forum any sooner.DIS is dynamic integration studio, it works on the webdav protocol.
you will need to install DIS on the client machines. The POC that i did was integration of SiteStudio with CheckOutAndOpenInNative.
I am also planning to referenc this functionality from WebSphere, what i have in my mind is to copy the java script from my sitestudio page and paste
it in the JSP, and then using the CIS or RIDC will execute the serverices. At present i am stuck in some other work, If i get this thing working i will
update you. In the meanwhile if you have some question for me, feel free to throw them.

scenario is like this
1) Create a Sales order in a plant
and there are 10 supply DC
consider we are into batch management and the stocks are in Batches with production date and Expiry date
when i create a sales order for qty 1000 , system must do ATP check in all the plants and pick the right batch according to the expiry date
how to handle in GATP

ATP check and batch determination are unrelated things. Batch determination follows ATP check. but the SLED parameter may not be able to determine batches for the entire confirmed qty as there may be some bacthes that do not qualify the SLED parameter (assume only warehouse stocks being in scope of check) and this may not have been blocked before hand in say a separate stor loc that is excluded from ATP qty
If you want to do ATP check at all locations..then remember that the check is happening at potentailly different material availability dates. It might be prudent to sort all the batches by remaining shelf life..and that might mean if the order qty is 1000.. then you might have 5 plants and 9 batches meeting the criteria based on oldest stocks first.(assuming this is what you would like to do). You then need to create five different line items in the sales order with different delivery plants and then immediately create delivery and do the picking,.
Let me know if you discover a neater solution around this. You can also try global location determination (and a rule control strategy appropriate) in RBA and see if the proposal is as per the expected result. I have my doubts on this. Also to be considered are delivery group correlation to ship the entire qty at one. So you might have to pack 5 deliveries in one shipment..and probably one invoice?

Firstly, if you order online from the Apple Store, I assume you will be using an "upgrade" discount, right? If yes, there is no doubt that your service provider will accept you new iPhone 5 without question. Secondly, I think you will see an shipped by date as you order online, and thus will know if the date is better than your local retailer.

Auto creation of Stor Location and Batch during stock upload via MI09

Hi Experts!
Please guide me to configure automatic creation of storage location and batch during stock count through mi09. Eg : I got material A in storage location 1000 and got batch 123 for this material. Then when i want to do the stock count, if i enter the storage location 2000 and batch 122 for this material, then system will auto create this storage location and batch in the master data.
I tried to configure it in OMJJ for storage location but it is not working. Please anyone guide me step by step how to configure it. Storage location and Batch.

Create Storage Location Automatically
In this step, you specify whether the automatic creation of storage location data is allowed for goods issues and transfer postings.
This is advisable if you work with negative stocks and a material's first movement may be an outward movement.
Note that the reversal movement for a goods issue, for example, movement type 202 or 262, is not considered as an issue but as a receipt. If you only use the automatic creation of storage location data for reversals of goods issues, you do not have to allow negative stocks.
You have to allow automatic creation per plant first of all. You then have to explicitly allow the creation of storage location data for each movement type.
The storage location data is only created if the quantity is posted to 'standard' storage location stock. It is not created for receipts into a special stock (for example, into sales order stock).
Default settings
The standard system is set in such a way that the storage location data is created automatically for all types of receipts (goods receipt with/ without reference, stock transfers, intial entry of stock balances, reversal of goods issues, etc.).
Activities
1. Enter for each plant whether the automatic creation of storage location data is generally allowed.
2. Specify the movement types for which storage location data is created automatically.

Without writing a component, you can put this code in the "side effects" box in the desired profile(s). This code removes the horizontal rule, and inserts a non breaking space in its place.

Condition type,access sequence, strategy type,
Work on automatic batch determination. Assign standard search procedure to order type dependent parameter, check against manual entry.
Make sort sequence for material by CU 70, tick ascending order, Then assign component in COB1, enter selection values and sort sequence. In finish product material master set automatic batch determination.
System will copy the required material with batch & storage location, also check against manual entry.
I think it will solve your problem.

Validation of reused component in Main component and Control the Navigation

         How to validate the data from re-used component in the main component and based on error or not the error fire the navigation plug ?
What I am doing is, I have two components
1. Main_comp --> V_CREATE (view).
2. Ora_comp-->V_CREATE_ACCOUNT (view).
In Ora_comp I have some fields that are mandatory. plus I have 2 password fields that have to be matched with each other like ( Password and Re-Enter password).
now in the MAIN_COMP
I have the view called v_create in this view I am using method "WDDOBEFOREACTION" to validate the things. but now I am stuck here dont know how to call the wd_api of v_create_account view of Ora_comp.

   Thank you so much for your reply, well you are right theres no navigation is taking place.. actually my view (V_CREATE) of a main component is navigating to either to review form for for review the inputs or to go back to action view to select the action like create ,,
why I wanted to use that dynamic_tool into main view and play with the reused view's attributes because when user presses the back button and try to go to the action view.. v_create view will not allow him to go unless he fills all the required fields..
I wanted to over -come that.. by flush out the message area in to_action navigation part.. so I thought may be if I can do this in main view. i can remove the messages and message areas as well but I was wrong.
well will it be possible for me to know. How can We suppress the messages and go back to action view without filling the required fields.
look the design
1 Serview view ( Oracle-Unix-Active Directory) --> user have selected the Oracle
2 Action view ( all the oracle related link2action (create, delete, rename password) --user have selected the create account
3 v_create view ( Oracle_comp , unix_comp , active_dir_comp) since user have selected the oracle I will use oracle components'view... here I have the form to create the account in oracle server. this has the mandatory fields I can use the dynamic_tool to put check on mandatory attributes.
4 review view- ( Oracle_comp , unix_comp , active_dir_comp) since user have selected the oracle I will use oracle components'view..in read only.
5 submit message view.
so problem is at 3rd view... I can check the attributes from componets ... fill it and correct and go to review.
but I cant go back to action-view without filling the correct informaiton. that I wanted to solve. Suggest me is there anyway to suppress the messages and message area on to_action or anyother place to trigger the back view navigation.

Importing LOCAL DCs of Service Component and UI Component TO DTR

Hi dear SAP Community,
I tried to import my local dc's of a service component, a mobile ui component and an application component to our dtr without Nwdi.
Result: 3 destroyed projects.
I tried to create a folder in the DTR and synced all the files and folder to the new dtr destination. But only half of my files were cut and pasted to the dtr workspace and the project folders on the dtr were allmost empty.
Is it possible to import local dc's to the dtr without using nwdi.

I am pasting an email response when I asked how to take locally developed DCs\SCs and put into NWDI's DTR.
I am not sure if by "our DTR", you are referring to a separate DTR like CVS or still SAP DTR .
I did this using the copy and paste feature in the Development Infrastructure. Once you imported the old and new track into your IDE, you can simply drag and drop a DC from one SC to another SC (even if the SCs are located in different tracks). Or you can use the copy and paste options from the context menu of the DCs in the Component Browser.
After this operation, the DCs are not zet in DTR. They are just stored locally on your disc (you can check this if the DC icon in Component Browser has an overlay icon which shows a blue house). Now you can add the DCs to DTR using the context menu action (called Add to Source Control). Please make sure that all required files are really added to the activity. The following folders including their subfolders and files have to be added to DTR: cfg, def, MOBILE-INF, src and .dcdef
I have used this method more to copy DCs from one track to another.

AirPort Extreme extends my network and has worked well for three months. Now it can no longer extend the network and flashes Amber. I have restored to factory settings moved it closer to time capsule and rebooted the system without luck

I strongly recommend if you have issues.. take control of all the variables. Apple routers have too much auto..
Here is a list that I use for setups when using Yosemite.. but it relates to any OS.
You will need to factory reset again to get going.
Factory reset universal
Power off the AE.. ie pull the power cord or power off at the wall.. wait 10sec.. hold in the reset button.. be gentle.. power on again still holding in reset.. and keep holding it in for another 10sec. You may need some help as it is hard to both hold in reset and apply power. It will show success by rapidly blinking the front led. Release the reset.. and wait a couple of min for the AE to reset and come back with factory settings. If the front LED doesn’t blink rapidly you missed it and simply try again. The reset is fairly fragile in these.. press it so you feel it just click and no more.. I have seen people bend the lever or even break it. I use a toothpick as tool.
Then redo the setup from the computer with Yosemite or whatever you are using.
1. Use very short names.. NOT APPLE RECOMMENDED names. No spaces and pure alphanumerics.
eg AEgen5 for basestation.
Use AE24ghz and AE5ghz for wireless on each band, with fixed channels as this also seems to help stop the nonsense.
2. Use all passwords that also comply but can be a bit longer. ie 8-20 characters mixed case and numbers.. no non-alphanumerics.
3. Ensure the AE always takes the same IP address.. this is not a problem for router but if the AE is bridged you can have trouble.. Try using the static IP method or control it via the main router dhcp reservations.
4. Check your share name on the computer/s is not changing.. make sure it also complies with the above.. short no spaces and pure alphanumeric..
5. Make sure IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. For example wireless open the network preferences, wireless and advanced / TCP/IP.. and fix the IPv6. to link-local only.
6. Set up the extend to the Express using 2.4ghz and then see how good or bad the connection is.. this is better in the old v5 utility but if you hover your mouse over where it shows connection an extra chunk of info comes up.
I have specifically used 5ghz to make the extend.. because by testing it works better.. but do not be fooled.. this good connection is poor.. the RSSI.. which is difference signal .. at -79dbm is down the bottom of the stable.. and it drops out on a daily basis.. you want to see that signal around -60dbm at min.
There is a lot more jiggery pokery you can try but the above is a good start.. if you find it still unreliable.. don't be surprised.

Statement caching and batch update

Can these 2 JDBC features work together ?
Is it possible while statement is cached to be reparsed (soft) if used in batch update ?
I am asking this questions because i have a sitution where an insert is cached using implicit statement caching and then put in a batch to exeute batch updates !!! From statspack reports i find that 1/3 of statements are reparsed ... even soft !!!

Statement caching and batch update work fine together. The most common cause of unexpected soft parses is changing the type of some parameters. If you first bind one type, setInt(1, ...), do addBatch, then bind another type to the same parameter, setString(1, ...), and do addBatch, you will get a soft reparse. There is nothing the JDBC driver can do about this, the RDBMS requires it.
In general, whatever parse behavior you see with statement caching you would also see without it.

Perform static and dynamic check together on a customer?

Is it possible to perform static and dynamic check together on a customer?
I believe standard SAP does not allow both options together.
The scenario is: My client has customer who orders products 1 year in advance and create sales order with a future delivery date. The customer might have balance due on their account which is close to the credit limit. As a result the sale order should be blocked as if the automatic credit check is "Static". This would allow our customer service to call the customer and arrange for the payments.
Then 11 months later, a dynamic check should be performed on the customer to make sure the past due is under the credit limit. If the past due is over credit limit, the sales order must be blocked for delivery as if the credit check was "Dynamic" with 30 days horizon. This would again give our customer service time to settle the payment with the customer.
If anyone has implemented such a scenario, can you please give me an overview of how you did it?

Static and Dynamic Cannot be Performed together. They are mutually exclusive events.
Credit check can be performed either at Sale order level or at Delivery / PGI Level.
FCV3 is a good report to see whether a customer would fail a credit check. ( suitable for your customer service )
Coming to your Point , Assuming that the customer is eligible for a Credit of 50 Lacs. Now the Customer has placed an order for 60 Lacs. We set the Customer credit checking at order level . The Customers Sale order would get blocked.
The Customer service will follow up for the payment and see to it that it is made. Assume the customer has made a payment for 70 Lacs.
Now let us have a look at the account statement of the customer.
Account Statement : Customer Cr : 70 Lacs. Dr : 0. ( because no delivery and invoice so far has been made )
So we are supposed to deliver the Material worth value of 60 Lacs.
The First sale order worth 60 Lacs has been unblocked in VKM3. Now at the time of Delivery level why would you want to chekc the Credit limit again ? It has already passed the credit check.
It is not necessary to check credit limit . Because you have already performed the same at the order level.
Now the customer has come again and raised another sale order for 80 Lacs. The System would block him.
The system will never block the Previous delivery which you are, due for delivery to the customer.
If we keep on checking the Credits without delivering we would end up only raising in Sale orders and no Delivery to the Customer at all. The Debit side of his account will always be 0.
So i donot think Static and dynamic is needed . you can go for either Static or Dynamic.
