[UDF] if not exist input element, return value must be returned "nulltext".

Hi SDNers.
I need to make a UDF for special case.
I made under UDF but it has a problem.
When I delete a element in test, I expect to be returned the "nulltext" value.
Let me know how to coding.

If so it wont work. UDF itself a function and not possible to use a function inside a fn,
Try the below code,

Hi,
You seem to be referring to some extrenal class in your UDF and this class is not available under imported archives.
Please check what is the class being refefferd and make sure it is in the imported archives,.

Hi Gaurav,
These are the standard task container's for the send mail step type.
No need create these container's and already they are available in the Task container.
Have you used the standard task to send the mail? If so just double click the Task ID and you can find these container's under the Container Tab.
Just delete the send mail step and create a new one. It will solve the issue.

Router not seeing the return value from a webservice

Hello. I have two input fields and a button that calls a web service, is an action that is passed to a router.
So it looks like this form-->execute web service-->router-->decision
I'm passing back a string of success or failure as follows:

It executes the method fine, but the router doesn't see the return value correctly. It always evaluates to false (which is the default)

"An Exchange Rate Does not Exist" error while creating an item

Pre-requisites: RMS is installed without base data
We are trying to create an item in RMS by filling the required information in "Item Maintenance window" and "Supplier details" screen. After this is done when we select the "Retail by Zone" link and the application prompts an error message : "An Exchange Rate Does not Exist", and all the values in "Retail by zone" screen are not populated. How do we ressolve this?

Also, make sure that if a currency has a rate entry for example, 01-jul-2010, then make sure that ALL other currencies have a rate entry for 01-jul-2010, even if the rate has not changed for other currencies - a little trick I learned from an Oracle consultant.

Sending a return value without pass/fail message

Hi,
I'm using the COM adapter to talk TestComplete application.
I have a string value test step to evaluate a return value and determine if it's pass or fail (e.g. return 0 = pass, return 1 = fail). This works perfectly.
However, I have added another return value (e.g. return 2), the code executed fine, but it keeps displaying that step as "Failed", which is annoying. Is there a way to suppress this failed message?
Basically, here's what I need to do, return 0= display pass, return 1 = display fail, return 2 = display no message or just display done.

The String Value Test step type only evaluates to Passed or Failed. It does not do a tristate. In fact any of the step types in the Tests (Pass/Fail Test, Numeric Limit Test, Multiple Numeric Limit Test, String Value Test) will always be pass or fail. They never evaluate to just done.
The Status Expression is what makes a step Pass or Fail. Unfortunately with the default steps you cannot change the Status Expression. You have to create a custom step type to do that.
What are you setting your Step.Result.String to? Or did you change the Data Source?
Here are 3 options:
1- Create a custom step based on the String Value Limit test and change the Status Expression such that you get your desired behavior
2- Use and Action step and change the Status Expression such that you get your desired behavior.
3- Continue using the step you are using but in the Post-Expression place some logic which turns off the Step.StepFailCausesSequenceFail if you are in return 2 state

Creation of Remote Partition DB: datasource with ID does not exist in the collection

Hi,
I tried to create remote partitioned DB. Followed the below link to create it.

In 'partition Type selection' wizard, I selected the remote data source and landed in below error.

right?
As you can see on that link,
If you get an error indicating the data source does not exist in the collection, you must open the project of the storage database, db-storage, and create a data source that points to the master database, db-master.
So in your scenario, please open the project of the storage database, db-storage, and create a data source that points to the master database, db-master. And then check if this issue persists or not. Besides, please ensure that all the prerequisites had
been done in your environment and the configuration steps are correct.

Display pass or fail in Report based on return value

Hi,
I'm trying to integrate TestStand with TestComplete using the ActiveX/COM server adapter. I have the COM setup so that TestStand can call a test in TestComplete and have TestComplete return a string value (true|false) to TestStand.
Now I need to get the TestStand report to display "pass" or "fail" text for this sequence call,  based on the return string from TestComplete.
Is there someplace in Expressions or Post Actions that I can state and how:
return value "True" = pass
return value "false" = fail

Hi,
Option 1.) Use a String Value Test.   The Limits.String would be 'True'. This would be the easiest because you already returning strings from your ActiveX call.   You could make your ActiveX calls a String Value Test.
Option 2.) Use a Pass/Fail Step.   You could set the returned string to a local variable and then create another Pass/Fail step that would have the Pass/Fail criteria as Locals.StringReturned == 'True'
These are two options that hopefully can get you started....

Can't get the correct return value ?

I'am using JDBC/ODBC to connect to a MS SQL Server 7 database. I run a stored procedure which updates a table. An update trigger however may rollback the entire transaction and issue a RAISERROR. A return value should be returned after this.
However, in my servlet, I always retrieve the return value 1 (whether the transaction was rolled back or committed). What am I doing wrong ?
Forgive me, all you experts out there, I am a beginner ...

A RAISERROR should produce an exception. Checking the return value shouldn't matter nor be possible.
What error number is being used for the RAISERROR? I tried different numbers and ended up using the standard 16. Is the trigger returning immediately following the RAISERROR? I remember problems with that, the stored proc would continue if I didn't.

Simple NOT EXIST but returns wrong values

I have been doing this for a couple of month and this makes sense to me but I get the wrong answer.
T1 contains 1 to 10
U2 contains 1 to 5
SELECT T1a.num

I expect to get 6 to 10,
but am getting NO ROWS SELECTED.

You are trying to :-
1. Use table T1 twice which is not needed
2. In the inner sub-query, you are using column T2b.num
alias 'T2b' is not defined, in which case you should be
getting SQL Error

Invoke/db adapter get not the return value of a procedure

I have a problem with a db adapter.
A db adapter calls a wrapper procedure and fill data in a object type.
the wrapper procedure call a procedure in a other schema.
In that schema the procedure make a insert in a database table
and give a return value(success_msg or error_msg).

In one enviroment the bpel process running well in the second enviroment not.
I had found that the bpel process write in the database and the out parameter is filled with 'ok'.
But there ist a problem to transfer the value from the called procedure to the db adpater/invoke.
The releases of the application server and the database a the same, also the releases of jdeveloper.
My second problem the instance didn't comming back and the entry in the domain.log is

Yes, that is working well for the input variable. But that doesn’t work for the output variable in the second environment.
The whole bpel process working well in one environment and does not in the second.
By now I think there is any adjustment in the database or in the aplication server that we not found and that make the trouble
What I do is that a invoke element (Invoke_WriteREOInDB) call the db adapter WriteREOInDB. My input variable WriteREOInDB_InputVariable is filled, the db adapater call a procedure and I see my data in the table. Now the procedure gives the result value ‘ok’
In the invoke element I had the output variable WriteREOInDB_OutputVariable. In the next step I want to assign the value of WriteREOInDB_OutputVariable to my global output variable.
But the instance didn’t coming back. In the console I get the following message:
“Instance not found in datasource.
The process domain was unable to fetch the instance with key "2e52cdd31acca03e:5800031c:119819b87bf:-7e0b" from the data source.”
So I see nothing in the bpel console.
Any idea?

UDF Required for checking input value.

Hi,
     I'm in need of an UDF for checking the input value and pass constant based on that.
Requirement.
                    We are having 1 field on the source side which need to be checked.
                    If the first character of the input is alphabet (No case sensitive)
                    then pass a constant "X" to the output field.
                    Other wise donot create that particular element.
Example : If INPUT = A12345 then OUTPUT = X
                If INPUT = 12345D then OUTPUT element must not be created.

Input element in web dynpro java not working

Iam new to webdynpro java. iam trying on external context mapping example from sap help.when i run the application i have assigned a context to a input element that should be accessed by another other component's window view .when i follow steps given in diagram for external context mapping when i run the application i am not able to enter the data into the input textbox.it became read only.plz suggest me a good example for external context mapping and some times i am not able to enter a value for input field when i assign a context attribute to it.i have assigned a node context to the input element.

An externally mapped node always exists within the context of a component interface controller and have its isInputElement property set to true.
External context mapping is possible only for independent nodes of a component interface controller not independent attributes.

ALV Filter Selection w/ error "WBS element 0000000000000000 does not exist"

In a few ALV reports, we have WBS Element column showed in ALV list and WBS Element defined as type BSEG-PROJK, which has conversion routine ABPSP.
When WBS Element is used for ALV list Filter, in Selection screen, error message "WBS element 0000000000000000 does not exist" is pop up as we hit Enter key or click on u201CSelection optionsu201D button with no value entered in Input fields.
We get same error even after we enter an existing WBS Element in Low selection input field and hit Enter key.
Itu2019s ok if we enter existing WBS Element value in both Low and High selection input fields.
We know we have workaround by entering both Low and High input field, and we can fix ALV reports by using character based WBS Element, such as PRPS-POSKI.
BUT, as users told me, they donu2019t have this problem before and it just happened. We checked the recent Transports and couldnu2019t see anything relevant.
Could any of you let me know if you have any clue or if thereu2019s any other way to fix it besides changing report by report.

Start screen does not exist in batch input data

I imagine you are passing, for the Dynbegin parameter of the private method FillBDCDATA, invalid values.
Why don't you try this way:
