Unable to Access AT&T Network
I set up my AT&T account and my iPad shows AT&T in the upper left hand corner with all of the bars. WIFI works fine but when I try to access the internet without WIFI, I get the unable to connect with the server message. Any thoughts?
The same thing happened 2 me yesterday. I called Apple bc I didn't want 2 mess up a brand new iPad! They had me go 2 settings & under general, touch reset. When my iPad came back on there was an "E" after the bars & "AT&T". Was the right fix! Have been using the 3G with no problem since!

I have just updated my iPad2 with iOS 6.3.1. and now I am unable to access my home network. The Wi-Fi icon in the status bar is not shown.
Under settings, Wi-Fi it shows my network name and under the Wi- Fi menu, chose a Network it shows it is searching for my network by name and continues to run and run without finding the network.
Prior to updating to iOs 6.3.1 my system worked perfectly.
Can anybody help please.1. Turn off router for 30 seconds and on again

Out of the blue, my ITouch is unable to access my wireless network ONLY when my PC is on (the PC is connected via Ethernet cable, and has no wireless capabilities that I know of). What gives? When the PC is turned off, everything is totally fine. I\m stumped.
Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
I suspect a problem with your router. Try changing the security. First use no security as a test.
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Unable to access certain sites- network prefences help?
I'm having issues connecting to certain websites with 'unusual' top level domains like .me or .tv sites. For example, when I try to visit the site www.formspring.me I get the message "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.formspring.me." (I get the same error on Safari) Now, I can access Formspring via a proxy site, which makes this seem like Formspring is being blocked via a firewall, except I have no firewall set. I spoke with my internet provider (Verizon) and they are useless.
I'm operating on Mac OSX 10.5.8. I have no firewall set on my router, and haven't touched any Network settings that I know of. Any suggestions? Help?Ok, I tried that and I still get the error "Unable to Connect."
I've tried using my laptop on other internet connections (at my friend's house, at work, at Starbucks) and I still get the "Unable to Connect" when i attempt to open sites that end in .me or .tv
I called Apple and they didn't do anything- they kept saying it was my router's problem, but since I've tried other internet connections I think it's my laptop's issue. -
Unable to access localhost from network

any help pleaseI can not access main page from other computers of
the network. the ip of main computer is
http://192.168.1.8:5050/examples/servlets/index.
html
This looks like a Private IP address to me: 192.168.1.8. Pls see here for more info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network
Unless your Gateway (router) is configured to map and relay private IPs, it may not be accessible from outside. Note- looking up by hostname may still be possible from external machine, in which case your DNS will return a public IP for the hostname.
Also ensure your firewall (if, any, e.g. Windows XP default) allows you to access port 5050 from external machine.

Remote Access VPN - Unable to Access LAN / Inside Network
Hi,
I am facing a problem with Cisco ASA remote access VPN, the remote client is connected to VPN and receiving IP address but the client is not able to ping or telnet any internal network.
I have attached running configuration for your reference. Please let me know I miss any configuartion.
FW : ASA5510
Version : 8.0
Note : Site to Site VPN is working without any issues
Thanks
JamalHi,
Very nice network diagram
Are you saying that originally the VPN Client user is behind the Jeddah ASA?
If this is true wouldnt it be wiser to just use the already existing L2L VPN between these sites?
In real situation I think the VPN Client would only be needed when you are outside either Head Quarter or Jeddah Network. And since you tested it infront of the ASA and it worked there shouldnt be any problem.
Now to the reason why the VPN Client isnt working from behind the Jeddah ASA.
Can you check that the following configuration is found on the Jeddah ASA (Depending on the software level of the ASA the format of the command might change. I'm not 100% sure)
isakmp nat-traversal To enable NAT traversal globally, check that ISAKMP is enabled (you can enable it with the isakmp enable command) in global configuration mode and then use the isakmp nat-traversal command. If you have enabled NAT traversal, you can disable it with the no form of this command.
isakmp nat-traversal natkeepalive
no isakmp nat-traversal natkeepalive
Syntax Description
natkeepalive
Sets the NAT keep alive interval, from 10 to 3600 seconds. The default is 20 seconds.
Defaults
By default, NAT traversal (isakmp nat-traversal) is disabled.
Command Modes
The following table shows the modes in which you can enter the command:
Command Mode
Firewall Mode
Security Context
Routed
Transparent
Single
Multiple
Context
System
Global configuration

Preexisting
This command was preexisting.
7.2(1)
This command was deprecated. The crypto isakmp nat-traversal command replaces it.
Usage Guidelines Network Address Translation (NAT), including Port Address Translation (PAT), is used in many networks where IPSec is also used, but there are a number of incompatibilities that prevent IPSec packets from successfully traversing NAT devices. NAT traversal enables ESP packets to pass through one or more NAT devices.
The security appliance supports NAT traversal as described by Version 2 and Version 3 of the IETF "UDP Encapsulation of IPsec Packets" draft, available at http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/ipsec-charter.html, and NAT traversal is supported for both dynamic and static crypto maps.
This command enables NAT-T globally on the security appliance. To disable in a crypto-map entry, use the crypto map set nat-t-disable command.
Examples
The following example, entered in global configuration mode, enables ISAKMP and then enables NAT traversal with an interval of 30 seconds:
hostname(config)# isakmp enable
hostname(config)# isakmp nat-traversal 30

Unable to access Mac over network
For some reason I am having problems connecting to my G4 from my Intel iMac. When I go to the Network icon in my sidebar, I get an error message that comes up when attempting to connect to my G4. The proper name for the G4 is G4Drive. This is how I named it in the G4 Sharing prefs. For some reason the old name is still showing up as well (G4hd). Are there some cache files or pref files I should trash, or is there some kind of database that I have to rebuild?
By the way, accessing the G4 from my Dell PC works fine.

#1 In Finder>Preferences>Sidebar, toggle the Show Network Icon" OFF, then reboot and turn it back on.
#2 In Finder do a CMD+k, type in afp://ip.of.g4.num
(assuming Personal File Sharing is on as well as Windows Sharing on the G4) -

The system was indeed hung but unfortunately there is no usable information here about determining why. Research the NETCONSOLE and NETDUMP (or KDUMP) facilities; these can help get log messages that may not get written to the storage media (/var/log/messages).
Also, keep a serial console or a similar feature like a putty session connected to the system console. You may see messages there that you cannot get anywhere else.
If you can, file a trouble report and get support help. -
EA6400 - Unable to access other local network devices
This is odd and it just recently started acting this way. No, I didn't have any configuration changes recently.
I have an EA6400 wireless router. Many devices are connected to it via Wireless (2 iPhones/2 iPads/3 Blu-Ray Players/1 Ubuntu laptop/1 Windows XP Laptop/1 Windows 8 desktop/1 Ubuntu Server/1 Epson Printer/1 Ubuntu Workstation). Now prior to last night I didn't have any problems, wife had been printing from Windows 8 to Epson all day. Sometime last night, she stopped being able to print to the Epson. I looked, sure enough, error printing.
Here's some more details:
All device are DHCP. EXCEPT for the following 3 static devices: Ubuntu Server, Epson Printer, Ubuntu Workstation
Tried pinging the Epson from Windows 8, no go. Tried pinging the router from Win8, no problem. Ping www.google.com from Win8, no problem. Ping Ubuntu server from Win8, no go. Ping Epson from Ubuntu server, no go. Ping Win8 from Ubuntu, no go. Ping iPad from Win8, no problem. Ping iPhone from Win8, no problem. Ping Ubuntu from WinXP laptop, no go. Ping Epson from WinXP laptop, no go. Ping from router to Win8, no problem. Ping from router to Ubuntu server, no problem, ping from router to Epson, no problem.
Wireshark of Win8 shows ping ARP request and reply for pings to iPad/iPhone.
Wireshark of Win8 shows ping ARP Who Has request for pings to Epson, but no responses back.
What the heck is going on? No Windows firewall issues, I turned off Windows firewall for testing and still had the problems.
Any ideas? The EA6400 has the Smart WiFi software which makes it difficult to troubleshoot things on the router itself.it usually occurs with older devices which do not support 5ghz. glad you got it sorted.

Airport Card on MacBook Pro unable to connect to VPN networks
For the last year or so (apart from two glorious months at the start of this year) when using an Airport connection, I'm unable to access any VPN networks. I always get an error saying that the VPN server is not responding.
However, if I use an ethernet connection, a USB Wifi modem or an iPhone tethering I can connect without any issues.
The VPN connections started working in January to my utter surprise. I think it may have been connected to the 10.6.6 update, but stopped working again when I did my last update on March 13th. I installed Java 10.6 update 4, iTunes 10.2.1 and Safari 5.0.4.
I'm about to install Mac OS X 10.6.7 to see if it has any effects but I wanted to know if this is a known issue and whether or not there are any solutions to the problem?

Seems like the 10.6.7 update solved the problem.Hello Oliver,
I would start with removing your Wi-Fi network from your Preferred Network list. To do that, navigate to the Symptom: After restarting or waking from sleep, my computer might not connect to the Internet section in the first article and it will walk you through that. Another thing you can try is creating a new Network Location to see if there is an issue with your current configuration and the steps for that are in the second article.

Unable to Access Web Site (with same name) outside of Local Network
Hi everyone,
I have my web site (and some other services) hosted outside of my network by my hosting provider, but handle all other items using OS X Server on my network (i.e. Wiki and so forth).
The problem is now that I am unable to access my website at www.mydomain.com from within the network. I have external DNS set up for www.mydomain.com to point to my website, while mydomain.com points to my OS X Server (static IP address). Internally in OS X Server's DNS settings this used to work when I had www.mydomain.com resolving to the IP address of my web host, in addition to the default domain settings that OS X had set up. For some reason this is no longer working, and I am unable to figure out why.
Using latest version of OS X Server 3.0.2.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Update: this ended up being a redirect issue on the web host. I added another subdomain that was hosted externally, and it worked fine. For some reason my web host is redirecting www.mydomain.com to domain.com.I am in Texas and cannot get to that site either. Do you know for sure the site is up and working? It could just be down (for days, a site I support was down for almost 4 full days a few weeks ago due to a virus problem).
This may (again, may) be your problem: I see you have a173.48.x.x (you really should x-out the last two octets of your IP address for privacy reasons), I am on a 173.74.x.x address; I know some people have had problems with getting to some sites now that they have a 173.x.x.x address. I think Verizon obtained addresses in that range and some of the addresses apparently previously belonged to spammers or some malicious folks. Some sites (web sites, intermeidate routers, etc.) blocked those addresses, and may not have updated their filters to remove the block on those addresses because they don't know that Verizon now owns them. If this is the problem, eventually those filters will get updated and you will be able to access the site, but this could be a fairly long time.
If you know how to contact that site I suggest you email them about the problem. You can also try turning off your router overnight and when you turn it back on the next day you may find that you have a different address (one that doesn't start with 173) that will allow you to get to the site.
I don't think there is much Verizon can do to help, it is not their site that is blocking your address (at least I don't think it is).
Hope this helps.
Justin

Unable to access my other macs in the airport network
Since I have installed Leopard 10.5.1 I am unable to access my other MACs in my airpot network for file sharing. Interesting that I can accesss my older IMAC which has TIGER 10.4.11 installed. This bug is new since I updated to 10.5.1. Its funny but "screensharing" on the other hand is working.
(I checked all possibilities in the firewall setting. (File sharing) is allowed on all MACs.
Anyone with a solution or having the same problem

: endHi,
You seem to have this nat (inside,outside1) source dynamic VLAN1 interface at line 2 which is causing the identity Nat/ Nat exempt to fail.
It is always good to use the packet tracer feature on the ASA to see what exactly is happening.
Try this
nat (inside,outside1) 1 source static VLAN1 VLAN1 destination static NETWORK_OBJ_172.21.3.0_27 NETWORK_OBJ_172.21.3.0_27 no-pr route-lo
Let me know how it goes for you.

Using the personal hotspot feature on the iPhone 5, I am able to connect to the internet. We also use Juniper NCP client to access our local system from a remote location. A VPN connection is created, but I am unable to access servers in our network. This same functionality works using my colleagues iPhone 4.
Both phones are running iOS 6.1.3. I tried to reset network settings, but still unable to ping servers in our network. This is a feature that our sales team relies heavily on when out of the office. Hoping someone has some suggestions on what is different between the 2 phones.Hi,
Generally, this issue should be related with something called split tunneling, since you’re using a F5 vpn client, you need to look for something related to split tunneling in the F5 VPN client's documentations.
Here is an example, share it with you as a reference.
http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_apm/manuals/product/apm_config_10_2_0/apm_config_networkaccess.html
In addition, you can refer to the link below for more solution about this problem.
