Unable to activate phone!! Brand new customer!

I am a brand new customer literally purchased a phone yesterday around noon that I have not been able to activate. I am furious!!!! I never would thought the customer service would be so terrible I have been told since noon yesterday up until about 5 mintues ago that there is a "system update" REALLY!?!?!? That is insane!! Very good job Verizon you are offically the worst I mean WORST!! Will I ever be able to use my phone???? Will your system ever finish updating???? Will I be credited for the days I am losing that I prepaid for???

I ended up doing a second factory restore, without updating the carrier settings, and it came back.
Ill try to update the settings (you are prompted EVERY time you connect to itunes) at a later date. Thanks for the info, when it calms down in a few weeks, ill try the carrier settings update.
I dont know if that will help anyone else. hope so

    I am utterly put out with Verizon. I have been waiting and waiting for my new Iphone6 plus with 128 memory. They don't even show online that I ordered this product!!! The only proof I have is an email...... what good is that going to do me. I have a ship date of 10/31 when I ordered on 09/19. My co-workers three of them have received there new phones same as I ordered, within a week of their order. Know why? Because they are new customers with Sprint! If I were a NEW Verizon customer I would have had my phone by now. I have called and called customer service, they can't tell me what I have ordered! Very very unhappy.

    Other carriers are providing the product to their customers, I've seen it in real time. In addition Verizon should absolutely be able to tell their customer, "yes we are your order here, you ordered such and such on such and such date" but they can't there is nothing on their end. This to me is unacceptable. I understand there is a wait. However if I were a new customer to Verizon I do not believe I would have this long of a wait. At least show me my order that I have paid for....

  • Cannot authenticate the phone : brand new 6085

    I have just bought a brand new 6085 and wish to connect via Bluetooth to my laprop ( full details below) . Depsite having a perfect working BlueTooth set up prior to installing PC Suite , I continually get the
    'Cannot authenticate the phone'
    error message after I have entered the passkey on the phone.
    I have spent about 6 hours checking all aspects of BT , which is otherwise working fine.
    What is going on? If I can't get a solution promptly, sadly this phone , which in theory is ideal for my needs, is going back to the shop.

  • IMEI number is greyed out and unable to activate phone.Apple India is not supporting any suggestions?

    I bought iPhone 5 in Singapore in May '13 and then moved to India . The phone worked well in India till end Sep'13. But in Oct '13, while auto installing 7.0.3, the phone started hanging and the  signal went for "search " forever. I tried to reset the phone to factory settings and everything went blank. It is stated that the IMEI number has been greyed out in the phone and only Apple Singapore can fix it.
    Apple India refused to touch the phone as it was bought in Singapore. Tried with online support without any success till now. I am unable to send the phone to Singapore for repair - as it cannot be send by courier by individuals and Apple Singapore service does not accept over courier.
    Tried online support and but it did not work
    Please suggest option to repair and make the phone usable in India.
    Regret for having bought iPhone at Singapore.

    Help required: Can the online support from Apple really help in restoring the phone?
    1.What is the purpose of iPhone Restore option in iCloud / iTune ? if it user cannot do in such instances
    2.Why should the IMEI number get "greyed" after a use of 6 months?
    3.Why should a Apple working product fail when updating a new version of the software?
    Surely points 1 to3  above are shortcomings of Apple software and its product. Such  HIGH priced premium product needs much more reliability. Apple should consider global warranty specifically for people who travel -else the problem will erode its market share. Apple competition too have the same issue.
    Having stated the above, I sincerely regret going in for a Apple product  and that too buying in Singapore. I have learnth a hard and  extremely costly lesson

  • SharePoint Branding - New Custom Item Style does not appear on dropdown of Item Styles

    We are using custom styles on our SharePoint site. We need to create a new item style for a user requirement. I have created my new item style on the xml file using the existing Visual Studio solution then deployed it on our site. Unfortunately, I couldn't
    seem to see the new style on the Item Style dropdown when I try to edit a webpart.
    I have checked the 14 hive folder and the verified that the xml file is updated with my new item style. I have also verified that the XML is well formed.
    I have done IISReset, BLOB Cached Flush, and remove browser cache but I still couldn't see my new item style.
    Artificial intelligence can never beat natural stupidity.

  • New Customer - Have had MISERABLE experience with Verizon service and Customer service

    I am a brand new customer of Verizon Fios and so far I have zero good things to say about it.  If it wasn't for the aggrevation of switching cable companies, I most definitely would go back to Comcast.
    I moved into a new home in the middle of April.  The previous owner had Verizon Fios in this house, so there was minimal installation that had to be done when I initially set up my cable.  My house was pretty much empty at the time, so we had the TV's set up where we had a place to put it (upstairs, kitchen, and living room).  We recently bought bedroom furniture, so we could now move the TV to where we initially wanted it, in our bedroom.  However when we tried to hook it up to an outlet, no picture came though.  This is when my awful experience with verizon customer service (or lack there of) began.
    I took time out of my work day to call Verizon about this problem.  I was on hold for about 30 mins until I actually heard a human's voice.  He was unable to help me since I was not at home to unplug and plug things back in. 
    I called again when I was home, this time I was on hold for about 20 mins (wow)... the first person could not help me, so she transferred me to another department... put on hold for 35 mins.... this perosn couldnt help me either and they transferred me back to the SAME DEPARTMENT I WAS INITIALLY TRANSFERRED FROM.... put on hold for about 45 mins... finally i speak with someone that knows what they are talking about.  Of course I have to go through all the same steps that I did the first time which did not work.  As this person decides I need a technician, he begins to look up available dates... and then after an hour and 35 mins on the phone, it gets disconnected!  I wait for 5 minutes to get a call back but I get NOTHING.  I spent now 2 hours trying to deal with this and verizon doesnt even call me back when its their phone that gets disconnected? Thats terrible.
    I call back after 10 mins and am put on hold right away (obviously).... after 25 mins of being on hold, shocker - the call is disconnected again.
    That was enough for one day
    I call back again the next day... same old thing... put on hold for 30 mins, talk to one person who cant help me, transferred to another department and put on hold for 20 more mins.
    Finally with the tech department who says they are going to schedule a tech to come out to fix the problem but also mentioned they are going to charge me $55 for this! Are you kidding me?????? Verizon wastes about 4 hours of my life and busy day and then has the nerve to say they are going to charge me for it? I asked the person several times if I could speak with a manager or supervisor, they never let me.  I asked multiple times and she just said that they wouldnt be able to help me and that the charge would stick.
    I can't imagine that anyone would treat a brand new customer like this.  I will not recommend Verizon to any one until I see some kind of help or REAL customer service from them.

    I did call them this morning, and still on the phone.
    I will say this - the reps are very friendly and do try to help in earnest.  That's been my experience overall with Verizon.  So in terms of the actual people, I give them an A+.
    In terms of their system and how they process things, they get a big fat F.   The very idea that I sent back a phone with accessories and their warehouse only registered the return of the phone pretty much says that there is something fishy going on there at the warehouse.   And it took an hour to sort this out so far and counting.
    The thing that bugs me about Verizon is how complicated it is to get everything straightened out.  
    Right now, they are trying to sort out the activation fee - I already have been charged one and now they are trying to figure out if i have to pay another one.   Another 15 minutes just on that.
    Everything has been resolved.   Thankfully, Verizon's saving grace is that their reps are nice people.

    I know that signing a new customer agreement with VZW (as a brand new customer) will entitle me to the subsidized price of any phone. My question: is the subsidized price only available at the time the agreement is signed?
    In other words, is it possible to sign a brand new agreement without purchasing a phone along with the contract, but still be able to go back at a later date and purchase a phone at the subsidized price (essentially saving the subsidy for a later date)?

    You only get the subsidy at the time you sign the new contract, but you can delay signing a contract until you find a phone you want to purchase at a discounted price if you have your own equipment to use with your service.  Just activate your service month-to-month with your own equipment.  You won't have a contract, but you will be able to sign one at any time and buy a subsidizied phone.

    I am having real problems contacting the adobe helpline to activate my software, I have been ringing for two days and its always engaged.. Unfortunately The motherboard on  my macbook pro failed ( and it was only just over two years old, so out of its warrenty)..
    Anyhow  I cannot therefore de-activate my photoshop software on my old computer, so therefore I am unable to activate on my new computer I just brought..
    It is so frustrating as i have all the discs infront of me, but I only have four days left now to use the software that I have paid for and own..
    Does anyone know of other phone numbers I could use, as the ones I have tried on this site are always engaged, I really can't afford to go out and purchase the software again.. Has anybody else come across this problem and how did you solve it..?

    I thought when I received your email it was somebody directly from adobe trying to help me...! indeed it was not a wise thing to do. I have deleted the post..
    With the greatest respect I have tried calling quite a few numbers and at different times and if you have read other posts on this forum you will see that they have had similiar problems to me..
    Anyhow I have had a nice email from Tracey an adobe person and hopefully she will be able to help me out.

    Same thing here. I love how they include this nice and easy to follow guide in the box and the KEY step for activation (the phone call) is a total fail. To verizon: the automated just says Terms and Conditions have been accepted for this number. Press 1 to enter another phone number in the order. Well, I HAD NO other phone number in my order. The message gives no other options. She repeats the same line 3 more times and after the 3rd time, it says please hold while we transfer you, call may be monitored etc. Guess what, its 2 am ET and customer service is closed?
    Do you guys expect thousands of iphone customers to speak to a CSR just to activate? Why not just let us do it online? I have activated plenty of phones even LTE phones, online. Now I'm going to have to compete with the other 30,000 people who ran into this same problem overnight tomorrow on the phone....

    Where did you get it from? I would suggest to try and connect your phone to your computer with iTunes and try restoring.

  • I tried to activate my iPhone 4 with Verizon but they said it was already under an account. The phone was brand new, what do I do?

    I recently tried to activate my iPhone that I bought brand new from eBay. I set up the phone so I could do everything with wifi but the other day, I called Verizon to get the phone activated but they said the IPhone is alreadyunder an account. I only set up my iTunes and iCloud on my phone. I contacted the seller and told them what Verizon said but she said the phone was already deactivated. What do I need to do? Or is there no hope? Help please

    If the eBay seller said the iPhone was already deactivated, then that is an admission that it was not a new iPhone.  It was used and activated by another user.
    Take your purchase receipt and the iPhone to a Verizon store, talk with their staff, and see if there is a way to get the iPhone removed from the other account.
    This may take time as they will likely want to be sure the iPhone has not been reported as stolen.
