Unable to backflush components of a phantom subassembly?

Hello,
I have a TLA with a number of phantom subassemblies.  All of these backflush correctly when I report a completion of a production order.  Yesterday, I set one additional subassembly to a phantom (special procurement = 50, MRP 2 tab) and set the two components to backflush (backflush = 1, MRP 2 tab).
I have run a single item multi-level MRP on the TLA, and then attempted to convert a planned order into a production order on the TLA.  When I display the components in the production order, everything is set to backflush EXCEPT for the two components of the subassembly I have just set as a phantom.  I can set them manually at this time, but I should not have to.  Is there another setting somewhere that I am missing?  Shouldn't setting backflush = 1 mean that a component will always backflush?  The components are not allocated to an operation in the routing, so the settings on the routing shouldn't have any effect on backflushing.
Also, how can I control which storage type a component will backflush from?  The stock removal strategy on the warehouse managament 1 tab doesn't appear to have any effect.
Thanks,
Randy

Hi Randy
Check whethet those two items should not be declared as Bulk in Material Master
There is one more check , In that Phantom Sub Assy those two items should not be categorised as "n" instead of "l"
Check if it works

  • Unable to Return Components of Production Order

    Hi,
Created Production Order (PdO) with 9-10 components, the 8th component being Item HEX with planned quantity of 5 and actual issue of 200 at row number 8 of PdO. In meantime, someone had deleted some row of PdO. The user then tries to click "Report Completion" and "Return Components" and selects Item HEX. The row number for Item HEX is now strangely Row 9 and the user is unable to return the quantity of 200 for Item HEX.
The "available batches" table of the Item HEX just does not show the quantity of 200 and the user is unavailable to "return components".
Could someone help me what the problem could be?
    Thanks,
    Ajay Audich

    Hi Gordon,
The item row deleted was some other item and not Item HEX. The Item HEX which now shows as row 9 DOES show the issued quantity as ~200 but the batches for this quantity are not visible and cannot be selected in the batch selection screen.
Could the deletion of some OTHER item in the production order create this problem?
Hi Sridharan- I do not understand your reply "wrongly posting"-could you please explain...this error is happening in the production order of SAP Business One.

  • Unable to view components in Object Browser & Properties window- Xcelsius

Hi - I have prepared a dashboard which consits of many labels and just a few components. But as I proceed with taking more components on the dashboard ,I am unable to see the components  in the object browser and properties window (it is just visible placed on the canvas but not visible in obj browser and Property window)....can any1 suggest the reason and how to proceed ?

    HI,
Check in the object browser, whether there is any group element. if all your components are grouped, then they will appear under that group. if you click on any component which is grouped the property window of the group will be displayed.
if you want to see the propery of each individual component, in the object browser-- expand the node and double click the component to see its properties.
    hope this helps

  • Backflushing Components - Multiple Operations

How do you backflush material components through multiple operations and work centers?
Right now I have 3 operations and 3 work centers, we only perform one confirmation for operations 3 which automatically confirms the previous 2 operations.  Whenever I perform a final confirmation on a production order there are no goods movements through all 3 operations.
How can I have all materials and components backflush on a final confirmation?
Right now this specfic material only has a single level BOM, if this requires changing the BOM to multi-level, how would I go about doing that?

In CO14 the only goods movement that is shown is for the final finished material and none of the components.  This is also what shows in CO11N, when the PO is initially pulled up under the "Goods Movements" button.
In C014, it appears that I am not able to view each individual operation.  All I have is one screen that shows my milestone confirmation for operation 0030 and the 5 tabs (Quantity/Activity, Dates, Personnel/additional data, Quantity/Forecast, Management) for that one operation.  I cannot find an option to see if any materials backflushed in operations 0010 or 0020.
There were no COGI errors listed for this production order or any other production orders were this issue is present.
Is it possible the cause of this is the fact that I only have a single level BOM for this material?  If so, how would I add levels and paths to my BOM?

  • Backflush Components With Movement Type 101 When Confirm Production Order

    Hi PP Gurus,
I found that we have a backflushing material (procurement type: F) in 'Good Movement' with movement type 101 instead of 261.
The movement type of this material (procurement type: F) in reservation is 261. How did system determine the movement type 101 there?
Is there any user exit used there?
    Appreciate any help. Thanks.

    Hi There,
Looking at the log files indicates that you already had "Reviewer" and "Quiz analyzer" installed on your machine from the previous installation of Captivate. "Adobe Captivate Reviewer" and "Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer" are installed as a separate component when you install Captivate. Even if you uninstall Captivate then also you need to uninstall these two separately. I think in your case you already had Captivate before on this machine. If that is the case then you can ingnore these errors and continue to work. You can also verify by launching the above two components separately and see if they are working.

  • No planning files for backflush components- MRP V1

    experts,
no planning file is generated for the compoent with MRP type V1- material backflush with 261 mvmt.
    pls advice!
here then to incluse this component to generate planning file what necessary setting needs to be done?

    Dear,
Planning is carried out based on consumption: if the stock level falls below the reorder point after a goods issue, the material is flagged for planning. During the planning run, an order proposal is created according to the lot-sizing procedure. If you use a period lot-sizing procedure, forecast requirements (future consumption) are also taken into account in the lot-size calculation.
Reservations, sales orders, and so on, are not taken into consideration in the planning file entry and nor materials planning.
Also note dependent reservations neither create planning file entries nor do they increase the order quantity. This would be incorrect as the warehouse stocks would become too high.
The reservation would be considered twice, because it is already contained in the reorder point which is generally calculated via the forecast using consumption data.
you can carry out modification A using the MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA BAdI and the CONSIDER_RESB. as after backflush system update the reservation.

  • Unable to drag components on the canvas

    Hi,
I am a first time user of Xcelsuis 2008 and only have installed it today (upgrade from 4.5 to 2008). I am not able to drag and drop or point and click components onto an empty canvas. Any idea what could be causing this ? I already have installed SP1 hoping that would fix it but no result.
    Thanks for your suggestions.

Do you have FP1 installed as well (in addition to SP1)?
I have found that clicking on random objects on both the canvas and in the object browser tends to "unstick" that particular behavior you are describing.

  • Phantom Assembly Reporting Point Backflush - Not able to backflush

We are unable to generate a backflush of the assembly components of a phantom assembly.  The backflush indicator in the operation have been activated and the components involved are production relevant.
In the material master, i believe the REM Profile has been set correctly to allow for backflushing of the asseblies.
Am I overlooking something to have this work properly?
    Any thoughts are much appreciated!
    Thanks All!

    Dear suntevea,
Generally Production confirmation is not made for phantom assemblies either in Discrete or REM scenario.
So once when you do the confirmation for the upper level assembly where this phantom assembly is used
as a component, then at this point the good's issue(backflush) will be happening for the component's of the
    phantom assembly.
Eg : Material A is a phantom assembly which is made up of components say B & C.
Again material A is a component for making another assembly say X,so when you do the backflushing in
MFBF for material X,you can see the components B & C are getting issued, which means Good's issue will
    be happening for B & C,261 movement.
I hope you will be clear with the concept.
Revert back if you need any further assistance.

  • Duplicate Planing at subassembly Level

    Hi Gurus,
    I need your help.
    Scenario:
Final Product is of 2 types
           -  Make to Stock (FERT)
           -  Make to Order - Configurable (KMAT)
One main assembly for both the products is same.
Let us say basic assembly "A" (Plng Strategy 10) is used for
            - MTS Fert "X" (Strategy 11) and
            - MTO KMAT "Y" (Strategy 20)
    During beginning of month,
             - we know the MTS fert demand and
             - for MTO KMAT , the orders are not on hand but the overall Qty
(i.e. at assembly u201CAu201D level) in known.
Hence for MRP we feed the PIR for MTS Fert (X) and
PIR for  main assembly (A) to plan for expected MTO.
    Issue:
After MRP, system plans for X an A.
Hence total demand of A is
    -     Dependant requirement coming from X and
    -     PIR for A (in anticipation of Sales Order for Y)
When Sales Order comes for Y, it generates requirement for A.
This way the requirement for A (which was fed as PIR) gets duplicated.
    Requirement:
Whenever Sales order for Y gets planned, it should consume the PIR of A
However, the PIR of MTS FERT (X) should not consume the PIR of A.
    Thanks & Regards
    Nitin

    Try the following:
Introduce a phantom material B between MTO KMAT "Y" & assembly A . Give strategy 59 (Planning at Phantom Assembly Level) to phantom assembly B. i.e.
Assign B to the BOM of Y & assign A to the BOM of B. (Let the BOM of MTS material X be as it is i.e. assembly A assigned to the BOM of X)
Following are the prerequisites of strategy 59 for phantom assembly B
    - Strategy group 59 on the MRP screen.
    - Set the indicator for assembly planning, the Mixed MRP indicator, to 1 on the MRP screen.
    - Consumption parameters (Consumption mode, Bwd consumption, Fwd consumption on the MRP screen)to allow for consumption of planned independent requirements.
    - Set the Special procurement field on the MRP screen to 50 (phantom assembly)
    - If you are using this strategy in a make-to-stock environment, you must set the Individual/coll. indicator is set to 2 on the MRP screen.
You also must set the Backflush field to 1 (2 may also be possible) on the MRP screen of the material masters for the components of the phantom assembly.
Backflushing is essential because the components are planned with only one planned independent requirement which can only be planned correctly if all reservations are reduced at the same time. This is only possible when the goods issue for the components is posted at a later stage as in backflushing. In addition, all components of the phantom structure have to be linked to the same operation. BOMs must be maintained for the finished products and for the phantom assembly.
In this way PIR of A will not be consumed by MTS material X, since the assembly A is being procured by PIR of phantom material B. However it will be comsumed by MTO material Y since phantom material B is in the BOM of Y.
Try this & see if your requirements are fulfilled.
Revert if any problem or clarifications

  • Items below to phantom items are not available in ASCP workbenck.

    Hi Experts,
I came up one issue on ASCP, consider following BOM. Assume that all below items are MRP planned , all items supply qty is zero,
FG ( finished good, WIP supply type - Push)
    |-> PH ( Phantom, WIP Supply type - Phantom)
    |-> P (Purchase item, WIP Supply type - Push)
Now I have entered forecast against FG. After running data collection and plan, I can see forecast for FG. It is suggesting work order for FG but not suggesting purchase order for P part. While going in detail, I found that BOM data is successfully imported from source instance by data collection. But in plan, I can not see any child part for FG.. either PH or P. And this will be reason of not creating planned order for P. So can you please help me to find out reason behind this behavior.

    Hi Dipak,
Check the value for profile option MRP: Explode Demand Through Phantom Component. It should be set to yes for planning to recognize the requirements for the components below the phantom.

  • Issue with Phantom Material in PCE

    Hi,
While creating the PCE for one of the finished materials, in the PCE, the phantom material is not getting selected.
There is no issue with the production version or BOM or Master recipe since in the process order after the BOM explosion the phantom material is being picked up.
The costing date of the PCE is also as per the production version validity date. In the BOM & master the phantom item is maintained for costing.
Let me know what else could be missing.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Abhijit

There is no problem with the costing run. If a material is marked as a phantom assembly (that is, it has a special procurement type with procurement type: In-house production and special procurement: Phantom assembly ), costing directly explodes the BOM and calculates the planned costs for all material components in the phantom assembly. These material components are displayed and updated in the cost estimate of the higher-level material, but not in the phantom assembly. The idea is, phantom assemblies are not needed to be costed as they are not valuated and neither stock is maintained for them. But their cost structure is exploded properly for the costing run.
